    Why do we celebrate Christ-mass?

"From Jerusalem and India, reinforced by the perception of the Great Ones, I bring unto you a new message of Spirit. Blessed is my soul to be thus an instrument of the Divine.

The pen of thought writes on the dark page of ether and makes the Spirit-Truth invisibly visible, and my fountain pen makes the unseen thoughts visible. So on this page I am painting God — with ink, thoughts, and Self-realization — that all may behold His glory.

As Truth peeps through the window of thoughts and words, so God manifests through Christ Intelligence and vibratory creation. When the beads of nations are not held together by the thread of universal perception of Christ Consciousness, of Christ Peace, they fall apart, knocking and scattering on the rocks of selfishness. The Christ of Christmas must be celebrated in the hearts’ love of all races for one another.

I pray Christ be born in the cradle of a new international understanding; that out of the dark night of war, the star of Christ Love may illumine a new United World. I pray Christ be born in all nations as love of unity, in all men as spiritual ambition, in true friends as the Divine Friend, in students of this path as Self-realization, and in all deep devotees as eternal, ever new Joy and perpetual Wisdom.

Earth-bound possessions and glory all fade away, but God-bound possessions hold through eternity, serving with supreme usefulness. Why worship material comfort on the altar of change? Learn to adore spiritual comfort in the temple of indestructibility. The best way to convert earthly accumulations into imperishable heavenly treasure is to use them for spiritual service. Christ must be lived to be known. In all good actions, in every material and spiritual service, and in the manger of meditation, the immortal Cosmic Christ is born anew.

None can know about that Christ by reading books on theology; one must feel his presence in the bower of deep meditation. In the cradle of meditation-tuned thoughts, woven with tender twigs of devotion, behold the newborn Christ, lulled by the cooing dove of inner peace.

In these twenty centuries Christmas has been celebrated 1,935 times — yet how few have realized the true significance of the birth of Jesus! Every year, God and the angels recognize this occasion with celestial celebrations for the good of all. So let each one of you, by prior weeks of deep meditation, prepare his consciousness to celebrate this coming Christmas. The arrival of the newborn Christ Consciousness in the hamlet of your meditation will be indescribably fascinating, uplifting, and expanding to your soul. Prepare for Christ by decorating the spinal Christmas tree* of your meditating consciousness with many new perceptions of the divine Christ, with ever-twinkling stars of wisdom and lotus blossoms of divine love. At the foot of this inner Christmas tree lay all your material desires, to be presented once and forever to the Christ Joy within you.

Then, on awakening Christmas morn, Christ will draw near the many-branched Christmas tree of your consciousness to receive your presents, and to give unto you his imperishable gifts of Omnipresence, Omniscience, Divine Love, Cosmic Light, Ever-Wakefulness, and Ever New Joy, bound with golden strings of eternity."

    * A reference to man’s seven cerebrospinal centers of spiritual intelligence and energy, manifesting as lights to the inner sight of deeply meditating devotees. In Hindu scriptures, these centers are often described as “lotuses”; in the Book of Revelation, St. John refers to their bright rays as “seven stars.”

"There is a distinguishing difference of meaning between Jesus and Christ. His given name was Jesus; his honorific title was “Christ.” In his little human body called Jesus was born the vast Christ Consciousness, the omniscient Intelligence of God omnipresent in every part and particle of creation. This Consciousness is the “only begotten Son of God,” so designated because it is the sole perfect reflection in creation of the Transcendental Absolute, Spirit or God the Father.

It was of that Infinite Consciousness, replete with the love and bliss of God, that Saint John spoke when he said: “As many as received him [the Christ Consciousness], to them gave he power to become the sons of God.” ...

By the definite science of meditation known for millenniums to the yogis and sages of India, and to Jesus, any seeker of God can enlarge the caliber of his consciousness to omniscience—to receive within himself the Universal Intelligence of God."

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you....

“As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in His love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

Jesus promised his disciples that “if ye abide in me, and my words abide in you”—if their consciousness were perfectly in tune with the Christ Consciousness and Its emanations of Cosmic Vibration—they would be able to demonstrate untold wonders through operating the universal creative principle....

Then Jesus spoke to them precious words, none dearer to the devotee’s heart, that he loved them with the same divine, impartial, undying love with which the Heavenly Father loved him....Try to imagine the love spoken of by Jesus in these verses....

To feel that soul-love of all pure hearts is to be transported in an ecstasy of joy so great, so overwhelming, that it cannot be contained—a charge of bliss passing through one’s being, a thousand million volts of rapturous power. This divine emotion is beyond description — a communion of unutterable sweetness with the Infinite Grace, the Indescribable Glory, the Eternal Protection. That is the love of God which Jesus felt, and in which he sheltered his disciples: “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

The Gospel preserves a record of Jesus’ words on this holy occasion; but readers should realize—and try to feel within themselves as though they, too, were present—that behind those words was the tangible vibratory presence of God. During times of divine fellowship (satsanga) such as Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, those who are receptive feel transported into a higher consciousness of God-perception pouring into their hearts and minds as the master speaks. This attunement imbues the devotee’s consciousness, in the highest way, whenever he summons the guru’s grace in the inner temple of deep, worshipful meditation."

Enjoy discovering how humans gained their traditions, a rabbit hole in it's own right. It amazes how few people know the rich history of what they celebrate. Often too busy with the process of putting on a party (and cleanup afterwards).

Not condemning (been those places too) but they are missing out on a gift within a gift.

It is as if a busy busy life turns humans into more machines than they'd ever dream of becoming. If a person completely immersed in a device were told that they were nothing more than the device held I'm pretty sure offense would be taken. That or wave off the comment as ignorant.

Irony serves endless entertainment to the observant. None escapes its lesson. A razor fine edge, none finer.

    Free will or Destiny

    by Dr. Newton Kondaveti

"In the days of instant everything, the internet is exploding with instamagic formulas guaranteed to make all your dreams come true. Manifestation is the new mantra! Is it true? Is the choice all ours? Or are we still the puppets of fate whose strings lie in the hands of unknown forces?

We have all found ourselves stuck between ‘maybe it was never destined to happen’, or ‘maybe I don’t have a choice’ at least ten times in a day while dealing with the smallest of things like hoping to catch an empty bus, getting away with an unfinished project, or dealing with a fallout with someone over a silly fight. The argument for destiny is deeply embedded in our psyche, a notion so known to us that we fall back upon it as an excuse for every thing that went wrong. So where does destiny end and free well begin? Dr.Newton clears up the myths and mysteries.

Does destiny exist or everything is free-willed?

Both exist. As long as we don’t wake up to our ‘real self’, we are going to be affected by the forces of destiny. Let us take the analogy of students in a school. The beginners studying in the kindergarten will not have many options and choices and as we advance to the higher classes, students have the free will to choose their subjects to study. Forces of destiny are nothing but our sum total of karmic forces from the past. In the beginning stages of our evolution, the karmic forces of destiny will be affecting us and as the soul advances to the old soul level, there happens the awakening of the wisdom and free will. Old souls create their own reality and participate in co-creating realities with others.

Why are we given free-will? Wouldn’t it be nicer to create mankind as inherently good?

‘All That Is’ or Source is an impersonal creative force which created everything in the universe with pure love and joy. Let us take the example of parents who create their children out of sheer joy and love. The parents give all the free will to their children because they love them unconditionally. There is inherent goodness in the whole of creation. Evil that we see in the world is the misdirection and distortion. As beginner souls who have incarnated on the earth, will be operating with aggression and fear of survival. Several opportunities are given for them to learn the karmic lessons in this school of earth. It takes several lifetimes to reach the stage of maturity to understand it and as we reach to the old soul stage of evolution, free will is recognized.

Since human brain is maybe designed to have hallucinations, what if free will is just an illusion?

Free will is absolute truth. As we expand into higher levels of consciousness, we start creating our destiny by exercising our free will.

Is anybody’s destiny defined by forces outside of themselves?

Outside forces which are influencing is inversely proportional to the evolution of the soul. “The wiser the soul, the lesser the impact of outside forces.” Unfinished business and unresolved issues from the past lives are the karmic forces which influence one’s current life. However, all these external influences fade away as the soul perfects the lessons on this earth. But the higher truth is there is no outside force which can influence our present life. Not to exercise free will is also a choice made by few souls because of their own free will.

How can some people predict the future and be absolutely correct about it?

All possibilities and probabilities exist for all of us. Those who are able to tune into the highest possible futures are able to receive the information through precognitive ability and that’s why they are able to predict the exact future. Take the analogy of two ships which are coming towards each other but there is a hill which is blocking the view. There is a high probability of collision of the two ships. But someone who can be in a helicopter can view the possibility of this collision well ahead in time and alert the captains of the ships of this possible danger. Those who are spiritually sensitive or meditators can develop the faculty of precognition.

What is the concept of ‘surrendering?’

Surrender is harnessing the universal collective forces in the creation process. For example, a person intends to create a project which costs lots of money. After the initial steps of intending and putting all the effort in creating an astral template, surrenders to the collective force of the universe. It is like swimming in a river. At some places you will be exercising your free will and at other places where the current is strong, you surrender to the river and allow the river to take you forward. We do exactly the same way in our life too; there is a time we need to exercise our free will and to surrender to the higher collective forces.

Do you have any experience or knowledge of “Gods/lords of karma?”

There are astral beings in the astral world who act like guides. In the life after death states, those guides will make us review our life and facilitate this process. They don’t judge us; they only make us see what we have learned and what we have not from that past life. Some of these astral beings are known as Lords of Karma who reside in the higher astral worlds. They evaluate our evolution. They can also offer guidance regarding the next incarnation cycle, along with helping us in the selection process of our parents, country, religion, gender and situations based on our karma that is accumulated from all the past lifetimes.

How can one consciously create their destiny?

One stumbling block in creating our own destiny is unfinished and unresolved past. Meditation is like a vacuum cleaner which eliminates past imprints. Daily Meditation practice and cultivating the awareness will remove the negative thoughts and limiting beliefs. Meditation can help us focus on the present. By being in the present moment and using our free-will, we can intend to create what we desire in our life because thoughts create reality. After adding the positive feeling and emotional energy to the primary thought that you created, visualize in your mind’s eye what you would like to create. Now surrender it to the collective forces of the universe to join you in the co-creation process."

Human construct of time is a funny thing.
Read that the Pacific Island nations of Tonga, Samoa and Kiribati were the first to see in the New Year but American Samoa, its neighbor just 101 miles away, has to wait a full day.

    What day is it?
    What time is it?

Use a constructed version of time to tell you or make one up. How about zero hour?

Zero hour is the best of time and the worst of time.
Best ‘cause who doesn’t want to reach their peak? Worst ‘cause it’s all downhill from there.
Maybe keep peaks for safekeeping and the downhill will but a hint of what has been keep safe all along.

Use an infinite clock though technically it doesn't exist, I mean, where to begin?

The time is every time (World-beating) and no time…wink, wink.

Whoops, one wink too many. As such, falls into the realm of every time. One wink is an anomaly, two winks is a pattern.
One wink might not get the job done; so brief that, 1) could be missed or, 2) second guessed if seen/ happened at all.

Epiphany’s are typically depicted above but an epiphany of an epiphany.........................................................................sideways.

In any event, Happy New Year 2023! May it be stellar!

Woke up in the midst of the greatest party ever. One in which no favors were purchased in pursuit of enhancement. Already part of the party, enough.

I suppose in all honesty I could say that withoud a doubt I am a seeker of truth.

For that reason I love what Gandhi had to say about God and Truth. They're synonymous.

"The word satya (Truth) is derived from Sat which means ‘being.’ Nothing is or exists in reality except Truth. That is why Sat or Truth is perhaps the most important name of God, In fact it is more correct to say that Truth is God than to say God is truth. On deeper thinking, however it will be realized that Sat or Satya is the only correct and fully sign fact name for God.

And where there is Truth, there is also is knowledge which is true. Where there is no Truth, there also is knowledge which is true. Where there is no Truth, there can be no true knowledge. That is why the word Chit or knowledge is associated with the name of God. And where there is true knowledge, there is always bliss (Ananda). There sorrow has no place. And even as Truth is eternal, so is the bliss derived from it. Hence we know God as Sat-Chit-Ananda, one who combines in Himself Truth, Knowledge and Bliss.

Devotion to this Truth is the sole justification for our existence. All our activities should be centered in Truth. Truth should be the very breath of our life. When once this stage in the pilgrim’s progress is reached, all other rules of correct living will come without effort, and obedience to them will be instinctive. But without Truth it is impossible to observe any principles or rules in life.

But how is one to realize this Truth, which may be likened to the philosopher’s stone or the cow of plenty? By single minded devotion (abhyasa) and indifference to all other interests in life (vairagya) replies the Bhagavad Gita.

In spite, however of such devotion, what may appear as Truth to one person will often appear as untruth to another person. But that need not worry the seeker. Where there is honest effort, it will be realized that what appear to be different truths are like the countless and apparently different leaves of the same tree. Does not God himself appear to different individuals in different aspects? Yet we know that He is one. But Truth is the right designation of God. Hence there is nothing wrong in every man following Truth according to his lights. Indeed it is his duty to do so. Then if there is a mistake on the part of any one so following Truth it will be automatically set right.

[…] In such selfless search for Truth nobody can lose his bearings for long. Directly he takes to the wrong path he stumbles, and is thus redirected to the right path. Therefore the pursuit of Truth is true bhakti (devotion). It is the path that leads to God."

    God Is

"THERE IS an indefinable mysterious Power that pervades everything. I feel it, though I do not see it. It is this unseen Power which makes itself felt and yet defies all proof, because it is so unlike all that I perceive through my senses. It transcends the senses. But it is possible to reason out the existence of God to a limited extent.

I do dimly perceive that whilst everything around me is ever changing, ever-dying, there is underlying all that change a Living Power that is changeless, that holds all together, that creates, dissolves, and recreates. That informing Power or Spirit is God. And since nothing else I see merely through the senses can or will persist, He alone is.

And is this Power benevolent or malevolent? I see it as purely benevolent. For I can see, that in the midst of death life persists, in the midst of untruth truth persists, in the midst of darkness light persists. Hence I gather that God is Life, Truth, Light. He is Love. He is the Supreme Good.

I confess… that I have no argument to convince… through reason. Faith transcends reason. All I can advise… is not to attempt the impossible. I cannot account for the existence of evil by any rational method. To want to do so is to be co-equal with God. I am, therefore, humble enough to recognize evil as such; and I call God long-suffering and patient precisely because He permits evil in the world. I know that He has no evil in Him and yet if there is evil, He is the author of it and yet untouched by it.

I know, too, that I shall never know God if I do not wrestle with and against evil even at the cost of life itself. I am fortified in the belief by my own humble and limited experience. The purer I try to become the nearer to God I feel myself to be. How much more should I be near to Him when my faith is not a mere apology, as it is today, but has become as immovable as the Himalayas and as white and bright as the snows on their peaks? (YI, 11-10-1928, pp340-1)

    Nature of God

To me God is Truth and Love; God is ethics and morality; God is fearlessness. God is the source of Light and Life and yet He is above and beyond all these. God is conscience. He is even the atheism of the atheist. For in His boundless love God permits the atheist to live. He is the searcher of hearts. He transcends speech and reason. He knows us and our hearts better than we do ourselves. He does not take us at our word, for He knows that we often do not mean it, some knowingly and others unknowingly.

He is a personal God to those who need His personal presence. He is embodied to those who need His touch. He is the purest essence. He simply is to those who have faith. He is all things to all men. He is in us and yet above and beyond us…

He cannot cease to be because hideous immoralities or inhuman brutalities are committed in His name. He is long-suffering. He is patient but He is also terrible. He is the most exacting personage in the world and the world to come. He metes out the same measure to us that we mete out to our neighbors-men and brutes.

With Him ignorance is no excuse. And withal He is ever forgiving, for He always gives us the chance to repent.

He is the greatest democrat the world knows, for He leaves us 'unfettered' to make our own choice between evil and good. He is the greatest tyrant ever known, for He often dashes the cup from our lips and under cove of free will leaves us a margin so wholly inadequate as to provide only mirth for Himself at our expense.

Therefore it is that Hinduism calls it all His sport-lila, or calls it all an illusion-maya. We are not, He alone Is. And if we will be, we must eternally sing His praise and do His will. Let us dance to the tune of His bansi-lute, and all would be well. (YI, 5-3-1925, p81)

God is the hardest taskmaster I have known on this earth, and He tries you through and through. And when you find that your faith is failing or your body is failing you and you are sinking, He comes to your assistance somehow or other and proves to you that you must not lose your faith and that He is always at your beck and call, but on His terms, not on your terms. So I have found. I cannot really recall a single instance when, at the eleventh hour, He has forsaken me. (SW, p1069)

In my early youth I was taught to repeat what in Hindu scriptures are known as one thousand names of God. But these one thousand names of God were by no means exhaustive. We believe-and I think it is the truth-that God has as many names as there are creatures and, therefore, we also say that God is nameless and, since God has many forms, we also consider Him formless, and since He speaks to us through many tongues, we consider Him to be speechless and so on. And so when I came to study Islam, I found that Islam too had many names for God.

I would say with those who say God is Love, God is Love. But deep down in me I used to say that though God may be Love, God is Truth, above all. If it is possible for the human tongue to give the fullest description of God, I have come to the conclusion that, for myself, God is Truth.

But two years ago I went a step further and said that Truth is God. You will see the fine distinction between the two statements, viz., that God is Truth and Truth is God. And I came to the conclusion after a continuous and relentless search after Truth which began nearly fifty years ago.

I then found that the nearest approach to Truth was through love. But I also found that love has many meanings in the English language at least and that human love in the sense of passion could become a degrading thing also. I found too that love in the sense of ahimsa had only a limited number of votaries in the world. But I never found a double meaning in connection with truth and not even atheists had demurred to the necessity or power of truth.

But, in their passion for discovering truth, the atheists have not hesitated to deny the very existence of God-from their own point of view, rightly. And it was because of this reasoning that I saw that, rather than say that God is Truth, I should say that Truth is God. (YI, 31-12-1931, p427-8)

God is Truth, but God is many other things also. That is why I say Truth is God…. Only remember that Truth is not one of the many qualities that we name. It is the living embodiment of God, it is the only Life, and I identify Truth with the fullest life, and that is how it becomes a concrete thing, for God is His whole creation, the whole Existence, and service of all that exists-Truth-is service of God. (H, 25-5-1935, p115)

Perfection is the attribute of the Almighty, and yet what a great democrat He is! What an amount of wrong and humbug He suffers on our part! He even suffers us insignificant creatures of His to question His very existence, though He is in every atom about us, around us and within us. But He has reserved to Himself the right of becoming manifest to whomsoever He chooses. He is a Being without hands and feet and other organs, yet he can see Him to whom He chooses to reveal Himself." (H, 14-11-1936, p314)

"Scientists tell us that without the presence of the cohesive force amongst the atoms that comprise this globe of ours, it would crumble to pieces and we cease to exist; and even as there is cohesive force in blind matter, so must there be in all things animate and the name for that cohesive force among animate beings is Love. We notice it between father and son, between brother and sister, friend and friend. But we have to learn to use that force among all that lives, and in the use of it consists our knowledge of God. Where there is love there is life; hatred leads to destruction."

    Or as Dante saw in his mystical vision at the end Divine Comedy;

"Then a great flash of understanding struck
my mind, and suddenly its wish was granted.

At this point power failed high fantasy
but, like a wheel in perfect balance turning,
I felt my will and my desire impelled

by the Love that moves the sun and the other stars."
