I'm reading how big of an are this quake impacted and how many buildings have come down in this are in multiple countries, it's very bad , one news site puts number of deaths based on current information that is could go as high as 180,000. Hopefully not but there are high rise apartments completely leveled and this happened while people were sleeping, on top of that it is now snowing in the region tonight. Prayers and lots of them are needed right now as resources are starting to pour in.

I've been watching the 24 hour quake chart locations, The quake locations are marching north/northeast, heading for the northeast side of turkey at the black sea, its almost like there is so much pressure there at present that it wants to split apart this area of land and country of turkey at the moment, will know in the next day or so.

Those buildings are so unstable in this area now, any more after shocks could bring down several more. This is a very terrible situation for these people that live there, russia is sending 300 personal to help now. hopefully more will be on the way from other countries.

I've read its a gas pipeline blowing up because of the earthquake. Now Russia is sending troops there. I call all of this manmade.

well it would not be surprising. We know 'they' have the technology and Turkey must be on their hit list for pivoting towards Russia and the BRICS.

It was relatively shallow (by 'normal' earthquake standards) — just 10-20 km.

Shallow earthquakes cause a great deal more surface damage than (say) a big quake 200-300 km deep, in which quite a lot of the energy is absorbed before it reaches the surface.

My first thought when I saw four quakes all in Turkey was this is a response for the very reasons you listed, and of course Turkey looking as though they're about to do a 180 and side with Russian interests rather than US ones.

Or a lenticular cloud. Reverse image results - oldest found was Jan 19th 2023 so certainly recent enough, above Bursa.

Another one of these cyberspace mysteries... because ,for me, it shows up embedded in this Avalon page... it also shows up on a separate tab in my browser (Firefox) when pasting the address directly in the URL box as well as in the desktop Telegram App.

I think all of us here feel very helpless even to help financially thru a go fund me site. There just is not the infrastructure there to handle s disaster like this. Outside countries are sending teams in but such as the U.S sending in 2 teams of 70 and with over 5000 buildings collapsed , where do you start. Prayers and lots of them , this really is heart wrenching for these good people. Thx bill for posting
