I would greatly appreciate it if Applesprig and ExomatrixTV would ask the Mods to have their conversation moved to a different thread, as their discussion adds very little to this thread except distraction.
    ...
I respectfully disagree with this request.

I am new to Alan Watts. I have found this entire thread very informative and this exchanges has been additive to me.

Applesprig introduced a facet of the discussion that sheds light on the impact Watts has had on some people and the Satanic view. Exo's responses provide an alternative perspective. I appreciate being able to see and ponder both so that I may decide on my own...

That can be accomplished better if their discussion is moved to a new thread where the discussion can continue uninterrupted if desired.
I started this thread with the sole intention of posting some of Alan Watt's talks.
As the OP, that should be my perogative, and I will state my intention more plainly in an update on the first post.

I started a thread for the purpose of posting some of Alan Watts' more inspiring talks here:
    https://projectavalon.net/forum4/sho...=1#post1531328
    ...which was well received.
The thread became "off topic", with some criticism of him as a person and then more discussion followed about that.
I suggested and requested that that be removed to another thread; hopefully that will be done, and this thread will be utilized for that purpose.

UPDATE It appears the Mod team honored my request to keep the original Alan Watts thread devoted to posts featuring his talks (which many find inspiring) and to move the discussion about Watts himself to this new thread, which I started for the latter purpose.
For which I thank the Mod team!
It helps a lot to keep things civil on the forum when we have separate threads for controversial subjects so that tempers don't become frayed, and members are not continually subjected to posts that they find objectionable or off topic.
While those who want to discuss and/or disagree have a format where they can do that without interference.

Alan Watts speaks often from a non-dualistic ('absolute')point of view wich can be confusing when you want to apply it to a dualistic ('relative')world.

Seen from the 'absolute ' viewpiont there is no right or wrong ,everything just IS,and there is no doer,so one can only have the illusion of doing whatever one wants but is merely living the illusions of the ego who dreams up his own existence as a separate autonomous entity who is able to do whatever it wants.

And , because of Watts' outstanding entertaining qualities -(He called himself sometimes a 'spiritual entertainer')- and because he was so ahead of his time, i suspect that his work in the future will even be of more importance and Watts will probably be more appreciated for his authenticity & his unorthodox way of expressing the ultimate truth so elegantly.

I had very VERY similar thoughts & ideas (what you hear in this video with Alan Watts) when I was around 17 years old ... in 1983 (40 years ago!) ... listening to this audio has a severe profound effect on me as it feels like a déjà vu big time
