When going to surgery, in the last couple anyway, I asked ‘god’ to empower my surgeons, help them be correct. Seemed like the smart thing to do, and the operations turned out good enough.

I suggest you ask for your own body’s empowerment too. I am certain that there indeed is a fountain of life-help. All we have to do is drink from it.

So, I'm already off of oxygen, out of the ICU, into the progressive care unit, and walking around some, IV is already out, but I keep getting interrupted trying to take a nap, so that's about all I'm going to say right now. Everyone here is really impressed with how well I'm doing. They did five bypass grafts. I know you all care here. You're sort of one my secondary families. It's why I included Project Avalon, and thanks for all the wishes. That helped greatly.

Just completed 21-day Vipassana meditation retreat in a meditation center in Taiwan founded by one of my wife's sister. It is a beautiful place set among the mountains.

It is tough and arduous retreat. We get up at 4:30 AM everyday ( I usually wake up at 4:00 am) and lights out at 9:30 pm from 9/5 - 9/24. Normal meditation schedule is alternating between one hour of sitting meditation followed by one hour of walking meditation. We also have daily chores to perform. During each waking moment of the retreat, we maintain mindfulness of every activity we do. It is very helpful to see that we are not our body or mind, they are a part of what we are and through being mindful, we can learn to avoid aversion or attach to any activity or feeling that occurs throughout the day. Through being mindful, we can become master of our self and not be slave to what occurs during the day.

A men's dormitory is being added behind the dining hall. There are many beautiful pine trees and other plants that give off peaceful energy throughout the place.

It went to the fruit and veg attracted by the bright colours, even checking the end of courgettes for a flower

Poor thing its brief time is almost up.

It dies, its gone & forgotten. But that little life was not 'nothing'

It was an expression of the perpetual dance of the universe and consciousness exploring itself. Nothing is lost. All is growth.

This is how we are.

If it’s looking lethargic, it is probably dehydrated. I have given aid to many (10+ ?) wasps, by sprinkling drops of water near them. It was so cool to see small pools shrink, evidence that they were getting a bellyful. Some houseflies too.

Since ~5 or more years, I have kept a rescue-jar handy for whatever won’t stay in a soup bowl. Empty cleaned mayonnaise plastic jar, good-sized opening, covered by the lid or a piece of spam-mail sturdy card. I’m careful to not squish them, and they invariably fly away when tapped out, outside my window. Feels good.

Thanks for the personal update, all the very best for both of you , and maybe you could post a few impressions of what Russia is really like on the Russophobia: why do so many people in the west hate and fear Russia? thread?

(The western mainstream media is still painting Russia as some kind of autocratic communist state where their poor deprived, propagandized and deluded citizens are wrestling every day with terrible sanctions-driven shortages. )

Interesting graphics, that nullschool. I may look to make use of it.

Two weeks is weather, not climate.

Here in Canada, most people keep sets of clothes for different temps. Not a big deal to pull out something different before expected. Rarely are two consecutive same seasons (year by year) close in timing of heat or not.

One Autumn, while I lived in a forest area that generally froze solid through the long winter (highlands in southern Ontario, Canada), my neighbor said the squirrels are busier than normal, gonna be a harsh winter. That was 30+ years ago, and I don’t remember if his prediction was correct, but I trusted and still trust him (RIP). A man of the land, builder of roads and more, very observant of the nature.

I understand that the climate is changing (not human-caused), and so weather will change. Nothing new, at least historically.

I hope you don’t take it wrong, as I say “chill” hehe. ~8D
