A leader and founding member of Hamas, Khalid Mashal, reportedly called for a global Jihad on Tuesday, asking Muslims around the world to target the people of Israel on Friday, Oct. 13.

Video of Mashal’s reported call to violence was posted on YouTube and remains up on the platform as of Wednesday at 10 a.m.

According to a translation and analysis of the video by author Brother Rachid, Mashal referred to his proposed day of anger as “the Friday of Al-Aqsa flood,” which will “send a message of rage to Zionists and to America.”

“The most important thing: He asked all Muslims around the world to carry Jihad by their souls; to fight and be martyrs for Al-Aqsa. He wants Muslims to fight against the Jews, starting with Muslims who live in the countries surrounding Israel: Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt (but also other countries), to go to the borders and try to enter, each by his own means,” Rachid explained. “He said: This is the time for Jihad to be applied on the ground rather than just in theory. He asked the Mujahedeen to go in long caravans to spell their blood on the land of Palestine.”

Western virtue signaling goes hypersonic over Israel 11 Oct, 2023

With all the rhetoric bluster and warmongering coming from Washington and Brussels, it’s clear that peace isn’t their first priority

“Israel has the right to defend itself – today and in the days to come. The European Union stands with Israel,” tweeted European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, effectively blessing a carte blanche response by the notoriously measured and restrained Israeli leadership in response to the Hamas attacks.

“Who do you think you are? You’re unelected, and have no authority to determine EU foreign policy, which is set by @EUCouncil,” replied Irish MEP Clare Daly. “Europe does NOT ‘stand with Israel’. We stand for peace. You do not speak for us. If you’ve nothing constructive to say, and you clearly don't, shut up.”

In a single tweet, von der Leyen managed to position all of Europe as more militant than even the editorial staff of one of Israel’s main national newspapers, Haaretz, which placed blame for the attacks squarely on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of “annexation and dispossession” which “openly ignored the existence and rights of Palestinians.” The implication is that no action occurs in a vacuum absent the risk of sparking a reaction.

The danger of Europe’s unelected Queen Ursula unilaterally launching hypersonic virtue signaling missiles in a knee-jerk emotional response is that it can’t possibly substitute for foreign policy decided in more sobering moments. Yet these days, more often than not, it’s the only kind of foreign policy we get, on everything from Israel to Ukraine.

In yet another example of symbolism getting ahead of policy pragmatism, the EU announced withdrawal of its support for Palestine … before walking back the move just hours later. On Monday, Israel’s defense minister announced that the IDF was going to blockade Gaza even more than usual by preventing any entry of water, food, fuel, and electricity. And just a couple hours later, EU Neighborhood and Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi said the bloc was joining the cause – by withholding its humanitarian funding for the Palestinian people. Germany and Austria were the first to get the ball rolling on funding withdrawal. However, a few hours later, the EU aid freeze was reversed by the bloc’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, after an apparent epiphany that it would only end up “punishing all the Palestinian people” and would have “only further emboldened terrorists.” There’s no way Brussels may have been inadvertently funding those terrorists in the first place, is there?

All the virtue signaling in the world can’t now compensate for a lack of due diligence that the schizophrenic withdrawal and subsequent reinstatement of Palestinian funding suggests. It wouldn’t be the first time that innocent people suffered because of Brussels’ incompetence. Just ask the people of the entire European bloc currently facing seemingly endless economic hardship so their leaders can keep patting themselves on the back for supporting Ukraine.

And just like in Ukraine, Brussels doesn’t seem too interested in availing itself of an opportunity to play any kind of a mitigating or thoughtful role amid this conflict, but is rather taking its usual seat in riding shotgun to the US neocons on whatever the current thing happens to be.

Which Territories Does Hamas Control?

On October 7, the Palestinian militant group launched a surprise attack on Israel, targeting it with a barrage of missiles and infiltrating it by land, sea and air. Israeli Defense Forces were caught off guard and many troops were shot or taken captive.
Many experts, including former military officers, have described the Hamas-led operation as a "9/11 level event" and "major intelligence failure" for Israel.
The Israeli government sent troops to reconquer southern territories and expulse Hamas forces, while simultaneously shelling the Gaza Strip with missiles.
On October 8, the Israeli government invoked article 40 of the Basic Law which means that the country is in a state of war. Right now, Hamas controls a solid part of Israeli territory despite IDF efforts.

Israel Delays Regional Elections by at Least 3 Months Amid Escalating Conflict - Reports 40 minutes ago

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Israeli Interior Ministry has announced that upcoming elections for local municipal and regional councils have been postponed amid the escalation of the Palestine-Israel conflict, an Israeli newspaper reported on Wednesday.

The interior ministry said that the elections would be delayed by at least three months, the newspaper reported. The last time such measures were taken was during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, when the country fought with a coalition of Arab states led by Egypt and Syria, the report said.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Palestinian Health Ministry stated that the death toll in the Gaza Strip from Israeli attacks had reached 1,055 and another 5,184 people had been injured. At the same time, media reported that the number of those killed among Israeli citizens as a result of the escalation of the Palestine-Israel conflict had surpassed 1,200 people and nearly 3,000 had been wounded. The fate of the 150 people brought to the Gaza Strip as hostages by the Palestinian movement Hamas reportedly remains unknown.

No, it is not leadership. It is ethnic cleansing, a war crime disguised as humanitarian gesture. It is ethnic cleansing of people who's land has been stolen by Zionist settlers. Should such a plan be put into action it would guarantee that the resistance axis, Hezbollah and various other Sunni and Shia groups in the Middle East, would step in. The would attack Israel to prevent such a move.

The U.S. thinks it can deter resistance action by threatening to move in with its own forces. That's why the USS Herald Ford, its newest carrier, was moved into the Eastern Mediterranean. Rumors have it that a second carrier will come in too. But the resistance can not be deterred by that. The last time the U.S. tried to intervene in Lebanon it ended up with 241 dead Marines and had to retreat in shame. Hezbollah at that time was only a handful of men. Today Hezbollah has thousands of very well trained men. Then there are also Iran and Russia:

As for facts, it is useless to me.

But useful was the following: “Isis... when you hear of Hamas... Hezbollah... Isis... think of it as the same... it is the same mindset...”

Useful in this sense, that it may reveal the mindset of Patrick Bet-David (an interesting name for a Christian Iranian), but specifically of his intention to make us think of Hamas, Hezbollah, Isis as “the same thing”.
