Israel vs Palestine/Lebanon/Iran/Yemen/Syria: a New Middle East War

I don't believe in coincidences nor do I believe in surprise attacks. I believe the atrocities* by Hamas were allowed to happen so certain criminals within the Israeli government could have the excuse to erase Gaza. 💥 By way of deception, thou shalt do war.

That has been a widely reported theory; however, I would hesitate asserting it in the absence of positive prove.

Scott Ritter, military analyst and UN weapons inspector who opposed Joe Biden over Saddam Hussein's WMDs, argues that the Hamas attack is due:

1) to an overreliance on signal intelligence and artificial intelligence at the expense of human intelligence. In other words, the huge mass of electronically gathered information was not correctly evaluated by human analysts and politicians.

2) the IDF (Israeli Defense Force) and Mossad are not as good as they used to be 50 years ago during the 6 day war or the Yom Kippur war.

3) Hamas learned to game the Mossad intelligence gathering machine.

4) Jake Sullivan, the US National Security Advisor, said two weeks before the Hamas attack that the Middle East is more peaceful today than it has been in decades. The US National Security Advisor receives all relevant intelligence information from the CIA, Mossad, etc. He wouldn't have said such a thing if there had been credible intelligence information of an imminent Hamas attack.

Moreover, Netanyahu is a shrewd and calculating person. He would not trigger a war by a false flag operation that Israel risks losing. There are really no good options for Israel now and the country is perhaps in greater danger than it has been since its creation. Hamas does not have to defeat the SDF by military means. If Hamas survives, it has won. Hamas has already achieved a political victory because the 2-State solution is back on the table. The Abrahams accord for normalizing Israel's relations with the Arab countries is dead. If it had been successful, it would have been the end for the Palestinian people. As the pics from Gaza spread around the world, more and more countries will turn against Israel. Even Biden, a self-confessed Zionist, may no longer be able to prevent a ceasefire for Gaza.

When Bradley Manning released information to Wikileaks back in 2010, the sophistication of weaponry and satellite surveillance was such that individual houses could be accurately targeted with missiles, etc.  So, 13 years later, and given the exponential progress in technology, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to expect there to be clear satellite photographic evidence of:
(a) exactly what happened on 7th October and
(b) for Israel to be able to pinpoint their targets exactly.

Unfortunately Satellite views of Gaza and Israel are limited because of an out-of-date law. Under the Kyl-Bingaman Amendment (KBA), which passed in the 1997 NDAA, American companies can’t release imagery of Israel that’s at a higher resolution than what’s distributed by non-U.S. companies. For decades, that meant American companies could only disseminate 2m-resolution imagery of Israel.

I looked it up on Wikipedia to understand it better. Here's a short extract. I've added my own emphasis in red.

I don't agree with this statement at all. We're not all complicit, unless he means the voters putting corrupt and incompetent people in government. And although I don't know what "scars" he means, as POTUS he could, and should, have done more, or SOMEthing at least to mitigate the ongoing situation in the Middle East. If not he, then who?

And that's why we watch the harrowing news and videos on this thread, and read all the opinions and reports here. We'd much rather be doing something else, but we won't turn away because it's the only thing we CAN do, ie. lay witness to the atrocities, the bloodbath, the testimony of all sides involved - none of it in our name - so that in years to come we can say we SAW and when we had the opportunity, either to vote or to donate, or something else, we did what we could.

Obama sounded conciliatory in that video, and it annoyed the crap out of me!

A little more. We may never know, but I'd bet quite a lot that somewhere right now there's someone working pretty hard to get hold of a black market nuclear weapon. (And yes, there are some of those out there.)

US SecState Blinken arrived in #Baghdad amid secrecy in an unscheduled visit as he landed and departed from the #US embassy in the Green Zone in Baghdad and not from the international airport. He was spotted wearing a heavy plate carrier used to protect against shrapnel and assault rifle rounds.

Blinken, during his quasi-secret visit, said that the United States was working hard to ensure that the conflict in #Gaza does not spread, claiming "It was important to send a very clear message on threats to US Personnel: don't do it"

Earlier, on Saturday, a security official in Iraq, Abu Ali Al-Askari, announced that "the Islamic Resistance will work to close and disrupt American interests in the coming weeks if the aggression [on Gaza] continues."

Al-Askari also addressed Blinken saying his visit is "unwelcomed" and warned that "if he comes [to Iraq], we will meet him with an unprecedented escalation."
