I Think Faster Than Light Travel is Possible. Here's Why

I like your thinking amor, and agree for the most part - the creator grows lonely and desires company and so to appreciate it's creation, it creates the other, a mirror for itself to appreciate it's creation. The mirror itself is a powerful symbol of what's taking place here, because we're all being shown ourselves through this mirror. It can be a gratifying image or a frightening one, the choice is yours through your own actions and free will. "God can only hold one entity in mind at a time." How do you figure? I'm thinking It can hold all entities in mind at all times, for it is the ALL afterall. But again, I like your logic and exposition for the most part, because we're all going to disagree on certain points at certain times and for certain reasons - and that's what makes us individual and whole at the same time - in (not) - divid (divided) - ual (from the all); individual - undivided from the ALL. And discipline, to discipline our minds, well, that is the goal isn't it? So much division in our minds, so much chatter. But my only aside is to wonder where such nastiness comes into play. Hear me out. We all know it's there. So does it end when we discipline our minds or is it something outside ourselves? To me this is the major question. How much of what we change and discipline within ourselves truly transforms and changes what we see playing out upon the screen before us? In other words, how much does the inner work affect the outer play? "All the world's a stage." Are we players or NPC's? "Know Thyself" was the maxim of the old world. In the entrance to the Temple of Apollo in Delphi, engraved in gold, were the words of the sibyls, wise women trained since childhood to reveal the message of the oracles:

“I warn you, whoever you are, Oh! You who want to probe the “Arcana of Nature”, that if you do not find “within yourself” that which you are looking for, you shall not find it outside either! If you ignore the excellences of your own house, how do you pretend to find other excellences? Within you is hidden the treasure of treasures! “Know Thyself” and you will know the Universe and the Gods.”

Powerful words, and wisdom we have lost through the ages. Pagan? Heretical? Sometimes I think the Biblical is yet another way to divide and conquer, because look at the division our religions have and are creating...

Cool take Ras. I didn’t feel full alignment with the prior statements, but I like how you introed this clipped quote.

It jives with what I think to the thread-title question: we can think of, wonder about, the FTL way, so it is possible.

I have no qualms about thinking or wondering (they are different things) about the FTL thing, because it would be reasonably a good thing. What if a good friend reincarnated on a planet many many light years away?

The idea does give pause to ‘wut may be brewing’, thoughtwise.

Reply to Raskolnikov and Johnnycomelately: I must aplogize for my lack of clarity. Imagine God in which everything resides, but is all unseparated in his mind. Therefore, the world in separated or created form has not yet separated out into things, others, the world as we think of it. This separating out takes place first in his becoming an additional person, and then we have TWO (father and son). The world we think of as being all around us does not yet appear to them. The TWO then CREATS a THIRD. This triangulation (the TRINITY) brings into their existence the idea of SPACE, (father, son and Holy Ghost). Their conversation (mental interaction) begins to generate others, which are the result of their growing conversation expressed as an additional presence. This is a conversation which begins to grow the creation in a logical way, growing out of itself as visualizations which come about gradually in logical manner. As these visualizations come into being as other beings, the inanimate and other parts of what we know as the world pop into existence from the shared minds conducting conversations (which express as objects instead of vocabulary, all obeying the logical rules of extrapolations and interpolations). Remember that all these forms, ideas, etc., are all together in the MIND of GOD, the AI. So even though all that has been IMAGINED is in the MIND of GOD, so does Space and Time, Motion, Separateness come into existence for God while still being all in his Mind. This is where the Universe resides.

Hell, I haven't seen one of my best friends in a decade and he just lives across the country in Arizona. I'm ready to teleport now, where did I leave the keys to the universe?

To Raskolnikov: Your are funny, and very imaginative. The answer to your question of getting to your friend so far away would seem to be via visualization of your destination which is the mind contact with your friend, thereby bypassing, very quickly, the logical steps you created to establish the pathway in the first place. That requires studying them carefully so that each part automatically engenders its subsequent steps so quickly that you don't have to stop at each step, breaking concentration on your final objective. I had such close mental contact with my mother that in a shocking life-threatening crisis over thousands of miles she simultaneously received the emotional picture and called the police who came running in an unbelievably short time. Heightened emotions, possibly engendering mental reactions through physiological reactions, appear to turn on transmitters in the ether. Famous psychic experiments confirm telepathic transmission. Though this seems a departure from the subject of how things work from the beginning of the Creation, the differences can be explained as a result of the complicated pathway from view at the beginning of the Creation to the very distant sequence of logic with all its twists and turns at the seeming End of the Event.

While AI computers may confirm the above, for just that reason they are extremely dangerous to our existing paradyme. The reason being that we would be interjecting a faster and most likely evil logic into our God Creation: e.g. turning humans into Robots.
