So far as I can tell; both sides in this current Middle Eastern conflict desire the complete annihilation (or removal) of the entire population of the other side; which is why I cannot support either side - and why I am sure that Western powers and those outside the region and direct interests really ought not to be intervening - since such interventions inevitably spiral out of control, and become channels for attempted exploitation by outside interests.

IMO our interest in this conflict ought to be distanced; and (unless we are members of one side or the other) we ought to acknowledge that this war is not primarily our business.

If the world is truly to be multi-polar (i.e. for us Not to have a single demonic-evil global totalitarianism on the Agenda 2030/ Great Reset lines), then different regions, with different ideologies/ religions than ours, must be left to sort-out their own affairs. Our opinions on such remote matters (only very indirectly known) are not very deep or significant - and in danger of being indulged partly to impress ourselves, and partly to impress others. In such situations; 'good intentions' (even when perfectly sincere) are not enough - and usually lead to harm rather than benefit.

In this respect the Middle East situation is extremely different from the Ukraine war; where there is a right and wrong side; and where my country is directly and deeply involved in militarily and financially intimidating/ supporting the wrong side including violating multiple basic moral principles and lying grossly on all sides and causing vast numbers of needless deaths on the supported side; and where the consequences impinge very directly on my own life.

I've drawn very many of the same conclusions, particularly with regard to interference, and especially with the both sides motif. It has been abundantly clear that both HAMAS and the Israeli-Zionists care not one jot for the Palestinian people who are essentially pawns - very much considered disposable - and are equally culpable and complicit in the genocide in their twisted pursuits.

When the Russian SMO was launched, on 24 Feb 2022, I wrote on the Russia vs Ukraine thread that the Avalon members would very quickly figure it out. I did some work to figure it out as well, which involved understanding the long geopolitical history that preceded that day — which wasn't the 'start' of the conflict at all.

Clearly I wasn't alone in doing that work, and regarding Russia vs Ukraine I'm very proud of the Avalon community for having so quickly and near-unanimously come to the same firm conclusions as I did.

The current conflict in Israel/Gaza is exactly the same — inasmuch as one has to understand the history. I worked hard and fast to figure that out as well — because there was much that I didn't know in detail. And clearly, so did many other members here.

That's the source of what you referred to as 'sentiment'. It's not emotion, though feelings run strong for reasons that I think may be obvious. It's actually a deep acquired understanding of what's really happening and why. That's what the Avalon community has become extremely good at now.
