Default The Hegrosan Violet Ray Machine

Anyone with experience/story to do with a Hegrosan High Frequency Violet Ray Machine?

I have one (lent to me for a short while) that appears like it was an original from the 30's or 40's.

I have some articles and other reading material to go through and just from glancing briefly I see Tesla named throughout many pages. So is this a device he made or is it something based on his research?

To be honest, I am very leery to play around with such an "old" electric device, but I was assured that the electrical components have been updated and this particular machine has been treasured and is lovingly cherished by it's owner.

Yes, it's a Tesla medical device, but I know little about it. To my astonishment, there's one for sale here on ebay:

I have one, too, and several modern variants called TENS, or similar.
First, I would like to warn everybody against these old machines, as the knowledge of the dangers with electricity during that era was limited.

If you put more than 15-24 mA, that is milliAmperes through the central part of your body, you may be permanently hurt or dead ...
These old machines are much stronger in their output and the cord is not well insulated.
It is the Amperage or "power" that are killing people, not the Voltage. You can apply 10 000 Volts at f x 5 mA without getting hurt, only some pain from the light bolt and muscle contraction.

As the effect is similar to a modern TENS machine, you can cut the wall plug from the old one to make it safe, and use the funny glass-gizmos with a cheap modern unit, as even a simple one for $20 is safe and with limited power.

    citation from https://www.pemfadvisor.com/pemf-vs-tens/

"What is the Difference Between PEMF and TENS Therapy?

Both pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) therapy and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) therapy are types of electrical stimulation treatments used to treat the body.

Electrotherapy is a common treatment that uses electrical energy to stimulate various nerves, tissues, and cells within the body.

The difference between PEMF and TENS lies chiefly in the mechanism that achieves the healing results.

PEMF devices provide short pulses of low-intensity, low-frequency electromagnetic energy.

This type of energy is similar to what is found within your cells and is used to help regenerate damaged cells, restore circulation, and improve the overall repair process within the body.

TENS devices use low-voltage electrical current that must be applied directly to the skin. This current stimulates nerves, which can help treat pain."

Apart from the TENS machines like in the OP, I can just mention that the electromagnetic square wave pulse machines dr Beck built, are PEMF machines and then we are talking about magnetic fields of low power, similar to the earths magnetism but square wave and low frequency like 7 Hz.

Interesting 10 min video presentation from Clive De Carle about the violet ray devices

He was at a gathering I was at in the summer, and I had seriously debilitating back pain that meant my movement was very restricted. After 5 minutes on one of the machines he'd brought with him, my back was almost pain free again. It really was remarkable how quickly it worked.

I then realised that my partner and I actually already have a modern version of the generator, which is sold as a skincare device (due to the FDA banning them for medicinal use, in the 50's I believe).

    Here it is:

I used it on my back, which had got really bad again, a couple of weeks ago, and after a few 3 minute sessions with it, my back was almost fixed.

    They're not expensive either.

See, that is part of my hesitancy to try this "old" version of this tech. I feel your pain Avid - and I have had similar instances with the TENS devices.

Thanks for that info Ben - did both sessions with the devices feel similar? Is it the same tech?

Yeah, I can't see any difference in the old and new ones in terms of what they do and how they work. The modern one I have was just as effective at sorting my back out.

It's quite a game changer for someone like me who's back has a tendency to go 'twang' once in a while.
