CEO of the electricity company: The source of the power outage is the outage of the two production units of the Rabin and Eshkol stations, the cause of which is still unknown and is under repair. 150,000 people across the country were cut off, most of them have returned and 34,000 people still don't have electricity.

The Palestinian family 'executed' in their home by Israeli forces

Trapped in Gaza City’s Shaikh Ridwan neighbourhood, the Palestinian al-Khaldi family rushed to the ground floor of their home as Israeli forces bombed nearby, thinking that would be the safest spot.

An Israeli air strike then hit the house next door around 1pm on Thursday, killing some of the neighbours and wounding Fatima al-Khaldi, a mother of two.

But it was too late at that point to flee or attempt to reach the hospital, as Israeli tanks encircled the area and soldiers were getting closer.

The house was sheltering around 30 people, including some who were displaced earlier in the war from other parts of the city.

At around 8pm, Israeli soldiers arrived.

There, his uncle Mohammed was shocked to hear that the young boy needed six surgical operations, which doctors at the hospital - destroyed earlier by Israeli forces - did not have the resources to perform.

Faisal’s intestine and bladder were ruptured and he remains in critical condition at al-Shifa, according to Fahed.

“I posted many appeals on social media and through journalists and tried to contact the International Committee of the Red Cross to move Faisal to another hospital in the south but all that went in vain,” he said.

“All we want now is to urgently treat Faisal.”

    Field executions

Two days after the horrifying encounter, Mohammed went back to the area after Israeli forces withdrew.

He counted the bodies of nine people in the house, including Ahmed, Fatima, his elderly blind uncle, his wife and others.

The story of the al-Khaldi family was confirmed by the Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor, which says it has documented many similar field executions by Israeli forces in recent days.

The killings are taking place in Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip - areas placed under a media blackout and cut off by Israeli soldiers from access to hospitals and basic needs.

Now as Israeli troops retreat from some locations, surviving residents are revealing details of the shocking crimes committed against them.

The Palestinian government media office on Saturday said it had received testimonies about at least 137 Palestinians executed by Israeli forces in the northern Gaza Strip.

In some cases, groups of people were lined up in a pit dug by Israeli forces, before being shot and then buried in mass graves, the media office said.

Other instances included the killing of pregnant women walking to the hospital and waving white flags, as well as men shot and killed in front of their families.

The Euro-Med Monitor said it has documented at least nine different instances where groups of civilians were shot and killed without posing a threat to Israeli forces.

Middle East Eye could not independently verify these claims.

However, the Israeli army admitted earlier this month to killing three Israeli captives in Gaza who were shirtless, waving a white flag, and calling for help in Hebrew.

Last week, the office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) said it “received disturbing information” about one of the cases of alleged summary executions.

The killings were confirmed, the UN agency said, but verification of the circumstances were still under way.

“The Israeli authorities must immediately institute an independent, thorough and effective investigation into these allegations, and if found to be substantiated, those responsible must be brought to justice,” OHCHR said in a statement.

It added that the occurence of killings “raises alarm about the possible commission of a war crime” and comes “in the wake of earlier allegations concerning the deliberate targeting and killing of civilians at the hands of Israeli forces”.

War on Gaza: Israeli forces round up stripped Palestinian men and children at stadium

Israeli forces rounded up dozens of Palestinians in an open field of a stadium in Gaza on Monday, stripping them and tying their hands behind their backs, according to photos and video footage shared on local media.

Reports said Israeli forces had abused the residents, including men, children and the elderly, before gathering them in the open field.

Video footage showed Israeli soldiers, accompanied by tanks, pointing their guns at the detained Palestinians who could be seen entering the field in a line with their hands up in the air before sitting down in designated areas.

The video ends with a shot of an Israeli soldier carrying a baby, wrapped in blanket.

The video, reportedly taken by an Israeli photojournalist, shows how Israeli forces have transformed the stadium into a large detention

    centre.

The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor said on 20 December that Israeli army forces have been carrying out field executions against civilians, after detaining them from their homes.

The rights monitor obtained testimonies of Israeli army forces raiding homes and opening fire at Palestinians for no reason.

Euro-Med Monitor said it also received similar testimonies about atrocities committed by Israeli forces in numerous areas they occupied, including killings and field executions.

    Civilians stripped and detained

Earlier this month, the Israeli military said it was rounding up Palestinian men in northern Gaza for interrogation. Footage released at the time showed dozens of men stripped of their clothes, blindfolded, and with their hands tied, being taken to an undisclosed location.

A witness said at least seven men had been shot dead by troops for not complying with the soldiers’ orders fast enough, according to the Euro-Med Monitor.

The men had been reportedly rounded up from homes and schools sheltering displaced families in the northern Gaza Strip.

Euro-Med Monitor said doctors, academics, journalists and seniors were among them. Diaa al-Kahlout, a journalist working for the Al-Araby Al-Jadeed news outlet, was identified as one of the detained men.

Some videos showed them in a residential area before being loaded onto trucks. Another photo showed them lined up in an open sandy area. It was not clear where they were taken to.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the mass arrests.

Some Israeli media said the men are “possible” Hamas operatives but no further details were provided.

Osama Hamdan, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, denied that there had been mass arrests of the group’s members and likened the arrests to "Nazi concentration camps".

He told Al Araby TV that the footage shows the “arrest and abuse of unarmed civilians who have nothing to do with military operations”.

Intel receives $3.2bln Israeli grant to expand chip plant near Gaza

Tech giant Intel has been awarded a massive $3.2 billion grant by the Israeli occupation government as part of a larger $25 billion initiative to expand its chip manufacturing facility located between "Tel Aviv" and Gaza, both parties said on Tuesday.

This substantial investment was confirmed following an earlier announcement by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in June.

The announcment was made as the Israeli economy is struggling with unprecedented challenges due to the ongoing war on Gaza.

The brutal aggression on the Strip prompted Gaza's allies in the Axis of Resistance to engage in military escalations against the occupation entity on several fronts, which caused fears among companies and businesses about the security of their investments.

Furthermore, the Yemeni ban on all ships that are Israeli, Israeli-affiliated, or heading to the occupation entity, preventing them from passing through the Red and Arabian seas raised concerns regarding trade supply chains and resource allocations, in addition to higher import costs due to vessels traveling around Africa instead of passing through the Suez Canal to reach the Mediterranean.

Intel's CEO, Pat Gelsinger, revealed earlier that 17 percent of the company's 20,000 workforce are currently on reserve duty in "Israel".

The grant, as reported by Reuters, is expected to fund approximately 12.8 percent of the total investment in the "Kiryat Gat" facility, with the funds set to be paid over four years based on specific milestones.

Intel's commitment also extends to procuring goods and services worth 60 billion shekels (around $16.6 billion) from Israeli suppliers over the next decade.

The new facility, scheduled to begin operations in 2028, is projected to create thousands of jobs and is part of Intel's broader strategy to enhance global supply chain resilience, as stated in a Bloomberg-cited release.

"The expansion plan for the Kiryat Gat site is an important part of Intel's efforts to foster a more resilient global supply chain, alongside the company's ongoing and planned manufacturing investments in Europe and the US," Intel said in a statement, as per Bloomberg.

Israeli casualties on the rise amid intensifying Hezbollah operations
From South Lebanon, Hezbollah has launched multiple attacks at Israeli targets in northern occupied territories. These consistently expanding attacks have completely shut down Israeli settler communities, located at least 3.5 km deep into their occupation's line of withdrawal.

In the latest operation at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, Hezbollah Resistance fighters carried out an aerial attack on the Israeli occupation's recently established military command headquarters in the vicinity of the "Kiryat Shmona" settlement (occupied Palestinian town of al-Khalisa) using a kamikaze drone, resulting in confirmed casualties, as per the statement of the Islamic Resistance.

The Lebanese Resistance group simultaneously targeted the Israeli al-Baghdadi military site using appropriate weapons.

    Resistance attacks, nonstop

Earlier today, three attacks targeted Israeli military barracks, including the headquarters of the IOF's 91st Division in the "Biranit" Barracks at 1:45 pm, while another three targeted Israeli soldiers and assets across three military sites.

Although the attacks were concentrated in the western district of operations, Hezbollah fighters targeted the Zebdine military site in the Israeli-occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms twice.

The Resistance's initial attack at 9:45 am targeted the site using the "appropriate weapons" for the mission, confirming direct hits to intended targets, and then at 2:50 pm, they targeted the site again with Burkan rockets.

It is worth noting that Burkan rockets carry large high-explosive payloads that can reach up to 500 kg.

The Lebanese Resistance faction then launched consecutive attacks on Israeli military targets in the Western sector at noon, Tuesday. The first targeted Israeli soldiers spread across the vicinity of the Ramya military site at 11:40 am confirming direct hits to the intended targets.

Nearby, Hezbollah fighters launched an attack on an Israeli reconnaissance unit, positioned in a structure within the "Shomera" Barracks at noon. The Islamic Resistance confirmed that the members of the unit were killed or injured, as a result of accurate hits at the target.

10 minutes past noon, Hezbollah fighters targeted a grouping of Israeli soldiers positioned within the "Dovev" Barracks with the appropriate weapons.

The Islamic Resistance carried on its operations through Tuesday afternoon, targeting a grouping of Israeli soldiers at al-Raheb military site, confirming casualties among the enemy force at 1:45 pm (local time).

IOF: 9 soldiers hurt, including 1 seriously

Nine Israeli soldiers were injured, one of them seriously, in a missile attack in "Shomera" in northern "Israel", as reported by the IOF.

Hezbollah launched a missile from Lebanon targeting the Israeli settlement of "Shomera", resulting in moderate injuries to a settler. As IOF arrived at the site, Hezbollah fired more missiles, injuring nine other soldiers, as per Israeli media.

One IOF soldier was reportedly in critical condition, while the condition of the remaining ranged between minor and moderate, Israeli media reported.

Earlier, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) announced that an Israeli occupation officer was killed in a guided missile attack launched by Hezbollah on December 22 after he succumbed to his wounds on Tuesday.

The Staff Sergeant served under the 199th Amrored Briagde's 71st Battalion and is the second to be announced dead from the same formation as a result of attacks carried out by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon. On that day, two attacks via anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) targeted groupings of Israeli soldiers and officers in the vicinity of the Israeli-occupied Lebanese town of Tarbikha.

As the Israeli military admitted its casualties, Hezbollah carried out nine operations targeting Israeli positions and sites from South Lebanon.

Al-Qassam, Al-Quds brigades conduct joint ops against Israeli invaders

Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades revealed a joint operation with Palestinian Islamic Jihad's al-Quds Brigades on Tuesday, which targeted five Israeli military vehicles with Tandem and al-Yassin 105 projectiles near Jabalia al-Balad in the northern Gaza Strip.

According to al-Qassam, the Resistance fighters used machine guns and TBG shells in a coordinated attack on an Israeli force barricaded in a building in the same area, resulting in Israeli soldiers being killed and wounded.

In a separate operation, the Resistance group successfully lured an Israeli special force into a house in Beit Hanoun, north of Gaza, and demolished it with three anti-personnel IEDs, stun grenades, and a Shawaz armor-piercing explosive, leading to the death of the entire force.

Additionally, the Brigades detonated a boobytrapped tunnel in an Israeli force comprising eight soldiers east of al-Bureij Refugee Camp in central Gaza, killing and injuring its members.

Releasing documentation of some of the operations, al-Qassam provided exclusive footage to Al Mayadeen, showing its Resistance fighters targeting Israeli military vehicles in the Sheikh Zayed area in north Gaza using al-Yassin 105 shells.

On its part, al-Quds Brigades published footage of its fighters firing rocket barrages targeting occupied cities, settlements, and Israeli military sites. The Resistance group also announced that it bombarded Israeli military gatherings in the Absan area, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, with a barrage of 60mm mortar shells.

Meanwhile, the National Resistance Brigades, the military wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), announced that its fighters engaged in fierce confrontations in the central and northern parts of Khan Younis, targeting an invading Israeli force with RPGs, confirming casualties among the struck units.

A gathering of Israeli military vehicles east of Al-Bureij at the Abu Matibeq gate was also attacked with heavy mortar shells during the battle.

This comes as the Israeli occupation army admitted on Tuesday evening that three officers were killed in the battles in Gaza; One Master Sgt. (res.) and two Captains, including one from the reserve forces, raising the total number of troops killed in the Strip since the start of the invasion to 161.

Rami's mother further explained that he has spent what is equivalent to 10 years in prison so far.

This is one of the examples of Israeli injustice not only against #Palestinian Muslims but also against Christians as well, and on #Christmas.

Rami was detained today at dawn right after Christmas alongside Khalida Jarrar, a revolutionary scholar who has been detained twice before.

During her last detention, Khalida was denied a request to attend her daughter's funeral, only two months before her release.

🇮🇱🇵🇸🇾🇪Statement by the Yemeni Armed Forces regarding the targeting of the Israeli MSC United ship, as well as the targeting of Umm Al-Rashrash and other areas in occupied Palestine.

A statement issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces

In the name of God, the most gracious, the most merciful
God Almighty said: {O you who have believed, if you support you, Allah will support you and make your feet firm.} God Almighty has spoken the truth.

A victory for the oppression of the Palestinian people, who until this moment have been subjected to killing, destruction, siege, and starvation.

The naval forces of the Yemeni Armed Forces, with the help of God Almighty, carried out a targeting operation against a commercial ship, “MSC UNITED,” with appropriate naval missiles.

And the process of targeting the ship came after the rejection of the crew and for the third time the calls of the naval forces, as well as the repeated fire warning messages.

Also, the Yemeni armed forces' air force has carried out a number of military-guided aircraft in the region of Umm al-Rashrash and other areas in occupied Palestine.

The Yemeni armed forces confirm the continuation of the support and support of the Palestinian people, including religious, moral and humanitarian obligations.

The Yemeni armed forces confirm the continuation of operations in Red and Arab Bahrain against Israeli ships or those headed to the occupied Palestinian ports until we enter the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip needs food and medicine.

The Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed in their previous statements regarding the prohibition of the passage of all Israeli ships or those bound for the occupied Palestinian Straits, with their complete desire for the continuation of maritime traffic to all destinations except the Israeli entity.

    Sana'a, 13 Jumadi al-Akhira 1445 Hijri
Agreed to on December 26, 2023

🇺🇸🇮🇱🇵🇸🇱🇧Near the Lebanese border, zionist sources report significant property damage due to direct resistance strike. The cost of these damages reportedly surpasses those in southern occupied Palestine.

As all of the settlements on the northern border remain evacuated, and severe restrictions limit the movements on settlers nearby. In "Manara," over half of the settler houses were damaged by Hezbollah strikes. "Metulla" faces widespread destruction, with dozens of homes damaged and others directly targeted with anti-tank missiles.

A settler reflected on the contrast across the border: "While homes on the other side are lit, residents move freely, and farmers continue their work, we here cannot do anything."

Over two months later, Hezbollah has not retreated an inch from the fence. In fact, it is the settlers that have been forced to create their own "buffer zone" to protect from escalating attacks—most of which the "Iron Dome" is useless against—and have retreated in darkness in fear of potential strikes. Even today, in occupied Tabariyya, hundreds of displaced settlers protested that they be allowed to return to their "homes" in the north, surprised that they are the ones being pushed back.

India deploys warships to Arabian Sea following attack on Israeli-linked ship

Washington blames Iran for an attack on a chemical tanker in the Indian Ocean, a claim Tehran called 'worthless' and a 'distraction'

The Indian Navy has deployed three guided missile destroyers to the Arabian Sea in response to an alleged drone attack on an Israeli-linked chemical tanker last week.

New Delhi also uses long-range maritime patrol aircraft for “domain awareness,” the defense ministry reported Monday night.

On Saturday, the Liberian-flagged MV Chem Pluto, a Japanese-owned tanker traveling 370km off the coast of India, was reportedly hit by a kamikaze drone, according to the Pentagon.

The Israeli-linked tanker had been on its way from Saudi Arabia to India, according to maritime security firm Ambrey.

The Indian Navy says they are examining the specifics of the attack on the MV Chem Puto, which managed to anchor in Mumbai on 26 December.

Although Indian officials say a preliminary evaluation suggests a drone strike, they emphasize that additional forensic and technical examinations are necessary to determine the exact method of attack.

Washington blamed the attack on Iran, saying the drone had been launched “directly” from the Islamic Republic.

“We declare these claims completely worthless,” said Nasser Kanaani, spokesman for the Iranian foreign ministry, on Monday.

“Such claims are aimed at projecting, distracting public attention, and covering up for the full support of the US government for the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza,” he added.

Saturday's drone attack came less than a week after the US announced the formation of the so-called Operation Prosperity Guardian, described by US officials as a new “coalition of the willing” that seeks to counter the threat posed by Yemen in the Red Sea.

Although the Yemeni armed forces have been conducting the attacks against Israeli-linked vessels of their own accord, the Pentagon insists Iran is somehow involved.

“The [Yemeni] resistance has its own tools […] and acts by its own decisions and capabilities,” Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri told Mehr News Agency on Saturday.

“The fact that certain powers, such as the US and the Israelis, suffer strikes from the resistance movement […] should in no way call into question the reality of the strength of the resistance in the region,” he added.

The Israeli offer signals a strategic defeat: Aid, withdrawal, prisoner swap and guarantees.

In a recent development that marks a significant shift in the ongoing Gaza conflict, Israel has proposed terms that subtly acknowledge its strategic repositioning. However, the Israeli proposal has been deemed inadequate and unfit for a deal. “Negotiations will begin only after a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, with a comprehensive prisoner exchange in one package,” the Palestinian resistance leadership responded. These conditions include international guarantees against the re-arrest of the more than 10,000 Palestinian prisoners who have been released and an end to targeted assassinations of Hamas leaders.

In an interesting diplomatic move, Israel, represented by its envoy in Qatar, has made an offer to the Palestinian resistance to gradually resolve the long-standing issue of Palestinian hostages and Israeli prisoners.

This position, as articulated by the resistance, directly addresses Israel’s attempts to get out of its current predicament in Gaza. By proposing a gradual release of all prisoners, female first and male, in a second stage, Israel appears to be tacitly admitting a change in its operational objectives. The failure to free the Israeli prisoners by military means puts considerable pressure on the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which is already struggling with its radical allies in the same coalition who are demanding the destruction of Gaza or his resignation.

Netanyahu’s government is on the verge of political resignation, with Security Minister Itamar Bin-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich threatening to quit if the Israeli military ends its operations without achieving its goal of subduing Gaza and its people. Israel seems to be conceding to a reality that is beginning to be recognised: its inability to achieve its original goals of crushing the resistance by military means and dismantling Hamas – which is harassing the Israeli army in Gaza daily – has led it to rethink its strategy. Netanyahu faces a difficult choice: stop the war and resign, or continue the fight with no achievable goals, leading the army to stop the battle later.
