For many critics of US politics, Trump is seen as a real beacon of hope, which seems quite justified on some issues. However, a US President Trump would create many new problems. It is therefore worth taking a closer look at Donald Trump's political positions.

Many critics of Western politics look back on Donald Trump's presidency with real nostalgia, and there are also some objective reasons for this. Trump was the first US president in decades (or perhaps even over a hundred years) not to start a new war. This is of course a big plus point, which is why Trump's statements that the escalation in Ukraine would not have happened under him can be taken seriously, because he would not have supported Ukraine in this way against Russia, nor would he have supported Russia by accepting Ukraine into it NATO was put under so much pressure that, in its view, Russia had no choice but to intervene militarily.

The escalation in Ukraine would not have happened with a US President Trump, but that is just one issue of many.

Trump also claims that the escalation in the Middle East did not happen under him. In my view, the opposite is the case, because in my opinion Trump actually laid one of the foundations for the escalation in Gaza and Israel, but we'll get to that later.

For now, let’s stick with what I think Trump did well.

Trump and the US Democrats

As is well known, this is by no means a given in “Western democracies”, Trump has implemented his election promises or at least seriously tried to do so. His presidency was a blessing for the US economy and also for the real incomes of US citizens. Trump has also taken action against uncontrolled mass migration, which has become one of the most pressing problems in US domestic policy today under Biden. Trump took his slogan “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) seriously and did a lot to improve the lives of ordinary US citizens.

However, the measures against the alleged Covid epidemic, which were introduced in US states governed by US Democrats from the beginning of 2020, have wiped out the economic successes of the Trump administration.

Which brings us to the Democrats. It is hardly surprising that in the 2020 election year they happily introduced Covid measures that destroyed Trump's economic successes, because without massive dissatisfaction among the US population, which was then also caused by the BLM paid for by Democratic supporters movement was strengthened, it would have been difficult to prevent Trump from winning the election due to his good economic record. That's why BLM was immediately called off by the Democrats as soon as the election was over in November 2020.

And the fact that the Democrats are against controlling mass migration and border fences with Mexico is purely for political reasons. Migrants are potential Democratic voters, not Republicans. Allowing millions of migrants to come to the US uncontrolled and then at some point legalizing their immigration in a kind of mass amnesty and offering them US citizenship would cement Democrats' power and reduce Republicans' future electoral chances.

Trump's negative list

But Trump's presidency also had a very extensive list of negatives, which are often forgotten by those who want to see Trump as president again. I'm not talking about Americans here, but primarily about Europeans and Russians, many of whom are of the opinion that a return of Trump to the White House would ease tensions on the international stage. That shouldn't happen.

This was also visible in his first presidency. Under Trump, for example, the US has introduced more sanctions against Russia than under any previous government. Although the sanctions had almost no effect because economic ties between Russia and the US were too weak, the introduction of sanctions does not signal interest in improving relations or reducing tensions.

Yes, the US Democrats and also the “Deep State”, i.e. the government bureaucracy in Washington, have put many obstacles in Trump's way and perhaps Trump has imposed many of the sanctions in order to satisfy the lie spread by the Democratic-affiliated media that Trump is a Russian agent to take the wind out of his sails. One can speculate for a long time about what Trump was pressured to do and what he did on his own initiative, but the fact remains that he imposed the sanctions and did not send any signals of relaxation to Moscow.

The fact that Trump was unable to achieve many things against the Deep State was shown by his order to withdraw US troops from Syria. As commander in chief of the US armed forces, he ordered this, but the Pentagon simply refused the order and the US soldiers are still in Syria. This episode shows that the US President has far less power than one should think when his own Department of Defense can simply blatantly ignore his orders.

Trump's actions against Venezuela were also criminal. At the direction of his government, Guaido attempted the coup and, when the coup failed, the United States imposed brutal sanctions on Venezuela. Even the delivery of medicine was sanctioned, which is why many people in Venezuela died as a result of Trump's fault.

The motivation behind this was Venezuelan oil, which the US oil companies are keen on, but which the government in Venezuela does not want to hand over to them at ridiculous prices. Here Trump behaved no differently than all his predecessors. The only difference is that at least Trump didn't try to invade Venezuela.

One of his first official acts also showed that Trump was by no means a “peace president”. He traveled to Saudi Arabia and concluded the largest arms deal in history with the absolutist monarchy. From the US perspective, that was good; it brought money and jobs, but it shows that Trump placed a lot of value on the defense industry.

As with Venezuela, Trump has shown that he massively supports the US arms and oil industries, if necessary with violent measures such as sanctions against Venezuela. What distinguished him from previous US presidents is that he did not fight as hard for Wall Street and the Internet companies.

Another of Trump's sins was breaking the Iran nuclear deal and reintroducing severe sanctions against Iran. Iran had adhered to all the terms of the agreement, but Trump thought the nuclear deal was stupid and quickly broke it.

MAGA or MIGA?

It is because of Israel that Trump took action against Iran. Trump was perhaps the most Israel-friendly US president in recent decades. And Israel was a staunch opponent of the nuclear deal. Trump has fulfilled Israel's wishes on this issue.

Trump has prided himself on being extremely pro-Israel. This was also reflected in the decision to recognize all of Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. However, Israel has occupied East Jerusalem in violation of international law since 1967 and East Jerusalem is designated as the capital of the Palestinian state according to the UN resolutions on the two-state solution.

If you now know that from the beginning of 2023 Israel has repeatedly provoked at the al-Aqsa mosque, which is located in East Jerusalem , and that Hamas used these Israeli provocations as the reason for its attack on Israel on October 7th then it becomes clear that Trump, with his official recognition of the Israeli annexation of East Jerusalem, has made an important contribution to the escalation that we are currently experiencing in Gaza.

Trump's entire foreign policy was far more pro-Israel than that of probably any US president before him. He also boasts about this himself, because after the Hamas attack, Trump said, for example:

“So I fought for Israel like no president before, recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital, which is a big deal. And [I] even recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, something they never thought possible – we gave that to them.”

The Golan Heights belong to Syria and have also been illegally occupied by Israel. Trump acknowledged that too.

So you can and must ask yourself whether Trump's politics are more MAGA (Make America Great Again) or MIGA (Make Israel Great Again).

A next presidency?

What Trump says about his plans for the next presidency is also interesting. About two weeks ago, he named US Senator Lindsey Graham, who is particularly notable for being one of the most radical hawks in Washington, as a possible vice president under him. He famously said that the war in Ukraine was a great investment for the USA because it only had to use relatively little money and no soldiers of its own to kill as many Russians as possible.

Russia put Graham under arrest for these comments, to which Graham responded that his “commitment to Ukraine had angered the Russian government,” which is why he viewed the arrest warrant as a “badge of honor.”

If Trump were interested in reducing international tensions and improving relations with Russia, would he even consider such a man as a possible vice president?

But that's not enough. Lindsey Graham has been in favor of all US wars and interventions over the past decades. He has just called for a first strike against Iran, the first target of which should be the capital Tehran. But Trump said of Graham, “I like Lindsey.”

Plague and cholera (edit OMD: this means to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea)

Plague and cholera will therefore be on the ballot in the next election in the USA. US citizens can choose between the aged and demented Biden and the eccentric Trump.

Biden stands for the transatlantic people, for the uncompromising anti-Russian policy, for the unconditional support of the corrupt Nazi regime in Kiev (with Europe now having to bear the costs) and for the usual neoliberal narratives such as climate change, LGBT and so on.

Trump stands for uncompromising support for Israel, even if it commits genocide in Gaza, although Trump is, as seen, complicit in the developments there. Trump also represents a possible escalation in the Middle East and a possible war with Iran. And Trump also wants the USA's vassals to cover the costs, for example by sending refugees from such wars to Europe.

And one can also doubt whether Trump's assurances that he wants to relax relations with Russia can be taken seriously. In any case, he has achieved nothing of the sort in his first term, and nothing good can be expected when he considers people like Lindsey Graham as possible vice presidents.

In addition, it was Trump who unleashed the economic war against China. However, a real rapprochement between the USA and Russia is only possible if the USA's relations with China are also relaxed, because Russia will not agree to pay for better relations with the USA by deteriorating relations with China.

So you can understand why Putin said that for Russia it doesn't really matter who is president in the USA. Trump won't improve relations with Russia either, because that doesn't help either MAGA or MIGA...

Regarding socialists... Parents of Melania and all family were for 45 years communists in Slovenia, members of KPS and previous of Yugoslavia KPJK... and only after they came in US, in 2015 became Christians... the same as Melania sister Ines... we know this grifter's family very well!
