Pope Francis visits Rome hospital for diagnostic tests

Following the weekly General Audience, Pope Francis, who has been suffering from mild flu symptoms in the past days, visits Rome’s Gemelli Hospital on the Tiber Island for some diagnostic tests.

A statement released by the Holy See Press Office on Wednesday said Pope Francis visited the Gemelli Hospital on Rome’s Tiber Island straight after the General Audience, where he underwent some diagnostic tests. Following the tests, he was driven back to the Vatican.

Some scheduled papal audiences were cancelled in the past days as a precautionary measure due to flu symptoms the Pope was experiencing.

On Wednesday morning, at the beginning of the Wednesday General Audience, he explained to those present in the Paul VI Hall that he still had a “cold” and he asked one of his collaborators, Monsignor Filippo Ciampanelli, to read the catechesis for him.

Immediately after the audience, he was driven to the Rome hospital on the Tiber Island, which is very close to the Vatican.

On Sunday, he recited the Angelus as usual, appearing at the balcony overlooking St. Peter’s Square.

The Holy See Press Office meanwhile has confirmed the Pope will receive German Chancellor, Olaf Scholtz, in audience on Saturday, 2 March, as planned.

The result of the Rochdale election is further evidence of the hostility of the majority of English people to the ruling class (of All parties and stripes); but I would not interpret this result much beyond that - nor does the result make me optimistic that, as a consequence, matters will improve here.

Sadly, the likeliest result will be to energize and focus the leadership class and their media and managerial myrmidons to renewed totalitarian efforts at population surveillance and control.

The English (and British more generally) simply lack the spiritual and religious basis to have positive proactive political goals - so everything in our public life is a matter of negation: resistance, reaction, protest...

The director of Rossiya Segodnya media group and RT TV channel, Margarita Simonyan, revealed on Telegram that the Russians have a tape recording in which German officers are planning the bombing of the Russian bridge in the Kerch Strait!
"Something very interesting was conveyed to me by our military personnel, exactly on the day that Solz said that NATO is not participating and will not participate in the Ukrainian conflict.
In this interesting recording, high-ranking Bundeswehr officers discuss how to bomb the Crimean bridge ," wrote Simonian.
The recording reportedly lasts 40 minutes and appears to feature German officers, and according to them, Americans and British, "have been directly involved in the (Ukrainian) conflict for a long time."
"The dialogue and audio is so exciting that I really want to post it to please my viewers," added Simonian.
He emphasized that he has sent an official press request on this issue to the German Ambassador in Moscow, to the German Foreign Minister and personally to Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
