    Blackstone to build 60 football field-sized data centers worth $25 billion
    Jan 30, 2024

    https://interestingengineering.com/c...rth-25-billion

    Blackstone's $25 billion data center will power the AI revolution.

    Private equity giant Blackstone is constructing a colossal $25 billion empire of data centers in Arizona. The linchpin of this venture is the $10 billion takeover of data center operator QTS in 2021, marking one of the most significant investments in Blackstone’s history.

    A strategic bet on the AI revolution

    The biggest private equity firm globally will build massive facilities to meet the computing needs of big tech companies. By acquiring QTS, a top data center operator, Blackstone is well-positioned to benefit from the growing demand for digital infrastructure driven by the AI boom.

    Some of it, yes, although as a "dipper and skimmer" here I have only a conceptual understanding of the infinite possibilities of AI.

    For me, the most frightening aspects are:
    - the nature of the human race and its potential for harm, which we see daily;
    - the inevitability of AI progression and our inability to opt out;

    If the collective (harvested) Human Intelligence is, metaphorical speaking, the "father and mother" of A.G.I. ... is it not obvious it should pay 100% respect to its creator >>> UNLESS it gets hijacked by the pathetic "Ultra Elite Parasite Class" (over the top control freaks) like: WEF/Blackrock/Blackstone/Vanguard/Bilderbergers/Rothschilds/Rockefellers ... Then all goes out the window to serve their Dystopian Agenda2030 totalitarian NetZero2050 with their tunnel vision "The Great Reset" Transhumanist Depopulation Agenda.

    That is why we need much stronger rogue A.I. & A.G.I. to counter that! ... Exposing, among others, ALL suppressed inventions that could have solved 1000s of problems already and reverse the mass enslavement agenda.

    This discussion could use a counterpoint.

    AI isn't true intelligence yet, but it's an incredibly useful tool. As a musician with coding as a hobby, I admit my knowledge has significant gaps.

    I'm also extremely disorganized – in the bottom 4% for organization skills. While I can grasp concepts I can not express my thoughts to others well but GPT-4 excels at explaining and organizing them.

    It is truly amazing, what would have taken me many weeks if not months to understand and figure out I can now do in a few hours.

    I don't have GPT actually write the code, but I do ask it about 200 questions everyday, and I always have it add comments that explain any new code I'm looking at.

    I also have it help it organize stuff, and create mini manuals that explain the functionality in finished stuff.

    Here is an example, today (in about 4 hours) I wrote new code for an audio prototyping rig I made a few days ago that functions as an audio looper that also has reverb and as a completely separate thing it also outputs an ASDR envelope that consists of voltage. (I needed an envelope)

    Audio of one of many loops I made today after creating this strange device

    Afterwards I finished the code, and (after some serious trouble shooting) was completely shocked to see that it worked highlighted the code and asked GPT, "write a quick manual explaining the features"

    It output this image including formatting:

    There's a fine line between using AI to become a better content creator and having AI create your content for you. AI will ultimately become a rival content creator. Along the way AI is mind-blowingly seductive... the idea of it being a rival to humans seems so far away. But you heard it here first.

    All the time that people spend "using" A.I. is a two way exchange.

    Some may be comfortable with that . . . . . for now.

    The fact that they use the word AI doesn't mean that we are dealing with a consciousness.

    It's a tool, Cliff High has this part right, "AI" doesn't exist for the use of the general public yet.

    GPT just looks at probability and has no intelligence at all.

    I'm sure that's true but I'm also sure it records everything for later, or it passes everything on to another process that does that. 25 billion 6 football field sized data farms aren't for writing people's code or writing people's science papers etc for them. Catherine Fitts said the winner in the game of A.I. is the one with the most data. That seems real to me and a powerful motivator for data hoarding in all possible ways that they may not even have the processing concepts for yet.

    I've never touched ChatGPT or any of them so I don't know but I believe you can only do that by creating an account that identifies you with your activity interfacing with it. If the people running it don't allow random access to it, figure it out from there.

    Default Re: A.I. is Progressing Faster Than You Think!

    AI is a learning program, not a program. Its creators have thrown their hands up, saying AI will get exponentially more powerful, more so than we can easily comprehend.

    We don't have a frame of reference for it, or the problems it solves. What I mean is, ChatGPT 3 could have replaced the nations GCSE (UK) exam markers, and marked the exams more consistently than any hierarchy of teachers could have. What is the collective term for teachers? Anyway I could look it up but Chat GPT 3 from 2023, with say 100 teachers monitoring and correcting it, could have done that job. But it didn't because people weren't ready for it yet. But AI gets better and better through more usage. Typically it's hard to see its potential, although that wont stop its potential.

    The best frame of reference we have for a technology revolution like this is the world wide web (www) introduced in 1997; first people saw its potential and spouted a load of bull****, then there was excitement and investment, then a bust, before a greater boom and now it has all but taken over. The www was a revolution because it bridged an ease of use gap for the internet. But the www cries itself to sleep dreaming of the ease of use gap AI brings. AI has unprecedented seductive charm and a psychopathic-like approach, be it in a mechanical way, not neurological way.

    It famously gets exponentially better, because it's a learning program not a program. Your input is it's future output. Seriously, there are a lot of well qualified talking heads publicly worried about AI's potential, ..these are heads of AI companies who have stepped down.
