USA is still shipping weapons to Isreal daily, and they're also planning to have a temporary wharf installed to provide supplies to Gazans, in 60 days. We all know that Palestinians have already been starving for months, many have died of starvation now, and in 60 days most of them will be dead from starvation, if not bombed to death.

Obviously Israel is completely ignoring the ICJ ruling. I just searched for, but couldn't find anything of real consequence for Israel if they ignored the ICJ ruling. What are the next steps when ICJ rulings are disobeyed, does anyone here know?

Red Sea ops increase transport demand via Russian rails by 30% average
The demand for transporting goods from Asia to Europe by rail through Russia has risen by an average of 30% since the beginning of the Yemeni operations in the Red Sea against Israeli ships and ships headed to the ports of occupied Palestine, the Financial Times newspaper reported, citing logistics companies and rail operators.

German shipping company DHL revealed that requests to transport goods on Russian railways have increased by 40% since container ships started opting for substitute routes following the initiation of the Red Sea operations, the report announced on March 10.

Simultaneously, Netherlands-based Rail Bridge Cargo stated that rail freight traffic through Russia has increased by 31% in comparison to the same period in 2023, it added.

The Financial Times further reported that the transport of goods from China to Northern Europe through alternative sea routes has risen from 7-10 days to 50-55 days, however, transporting goods by train via Russia from China’s Chengdu to the German city of Duisburg only requires about 30 days.

According to the report, some logistics companies also seemingly offer a "southern route" that dodges Russia and goes through Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. This route, which includes a ferry crossing across the Caspian Sea, however, requires more delivery time than a container ship trip between China and Europe and is majorly utilized for transporting goods from Central Asian countries like Uzbekistan.

Yemen attacks US vessels, and warships using dozens of drones, missiles

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on March 9 two significant operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden in what was described as the largest Yemeni attack in months.

The Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree revealed that the first operation was conducted by Yemen's Navy and targeted the US Propel Fortune bulk carrier in the Gulf of Aden using "appropriate" naval missiles.

The second operation was carried out using 37 drones, attacking US warships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, Saree added, reiterating that the operations came in support of Gaza and in response to the aggressions on Yemen carried out by the United States and the UK.

"The two operations achieved their objectives successfully," Saree said.

Concluding his statement, Saree reaffirmed that the Yemeni operations would not cease until the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops and the blockade on the Palestinian people is lifted.

The Yemeni army has been escalating its operations recently amid the ongoing Israeli genocide in Gaza, which has so far killed at least 31,000 Palestinians, over 72% of whom are children and women. Additionally, the Israeli systemic starvation policy via the imposed siege and blockade of aid to the Strip continues to claim the lives of many Palestinians, mostly children, dying of malnutrition and dehydration.

Netanyahu orders thousands of news beds for Palestinian detainees
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has directed the occupation authorities to ready thousands of additional beds in prisons for the anticipated detention of more Palestinians amid the ongoing genocide in Gaza.

The orders by the Prime Minister were directed at the finance, security, and police ministries to urgently "prepare thousands of spaces for new detainees and prisoners," the Israeli occupation Prime Minister's office said in a statement on Sunday.

The statement affirmed that thousands of Palestinians will be arrested in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

It also said that about 4,000 Palestinians have been detained, most of them in Gaza.

However, Palestinian prisoners' affairs institutions consistently emphasize that the actual number is higher than the figures provided by the Israelis, stressing that Gaza detainees are being held in camps.

The Palestinian prisoner affairs associations have lately stated that the increasing number of martyrs in the Israeli prisons after October 7, due to torture, systematic retaliatory measures, and medical negligence, constitutes a clear decision to kill them within the framework of the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the comprehensive aggression against the Palestinian people.

This is in addition to the crime of enforced disappearance, which today represents the most prominent and serious crimes that the occupation insists on executing against Gaza detainees, they added.

The harrowing statement adds to multiple confirmed reports published by Palestinian organizations that deal with the affairs of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, which have shed light on the maltreatment and brutalization of Palestinians, not to mention the alarming number of detainees from Gaza, and the occupied West Bank.

On March 7, the Israeli Haaretz newspaper reported that Israeli occupation forces killed 27 Palestinian detainees from Gaza in military detention camps since October 7.

Haaretz said that the 27 Palestinians were killed under torture while being questioned by Israeli occupation forces in the "Sde Teman" and "Anatot" concentration camps, which also serve as military facilities for occupation forces.

At a previous time in January, Haaretz reported that 661 Palestinians are being held in the "Sde Teman" concentration camp, which is about 30 km to the east of the Gaza Strip. The actual number of Palestinians held in these facilities is expected to have significantly risen since the last report, as Israeli authorities maintain near-complete secrecy on the issue.

According to Haaretz, Unit 504 of the IOF has taken responsibility for interrogating "prisoners of war" held in "Sde Teman". The infamous unit specializes in human intelligence and launches covert operations in and out of Palestine. In "Anatot", Israeli occupation forces appropriated the military site to hold Palestinian workers, who held Israeli-issued permits, on October 7.

The newspaper also said that at least one of the detainees in the two camps was killed after occupation forces refused to give him access to life-saving diabetes medication.

On its part, the Palestinian Prisoners Society commented on the expose published by Haaretz, saying that the piece is evidence of further atrocities being committed in such camps.

"All detainees from Gaza are exposed to systematic execution and intentional killing in occupation [concentration] camps, as we have warned since the beginning of the aggression on the 7th of October," the PPS said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces continue to implement oppressive policies against Palestinians under occupation and have detained 7,400 Palestinians across the West Bank as of March 4 since the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023.

US building Gaza port to facilitate mass 'voluntary' migration: Anadolu Agency
The US claims the port is to facilitate humanitarian aid but could be used to ethnically cleanse Gaza per previously leaked Israeli plans

A US military ship set sail on 11 March to travel to the coast of the besieged Gaza Strip to build a temporary port.

However, doubts about US intentions for the port's construction continue to emerge.

Hisham Khreisat, a Jordanian military and strategic affairs expert, suggested the motivation for building the port was instead to facilitate the deportation of Gaza's population by ship.

Khreisat told Anadolu Agency that "the floating port off the shores of Gaza is a humanitarian facade hiding voluntary migration to Europe."

"This military tactical port will receive Israeli approval because Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been seeking this idea since the beginning of the war, aiming for the voluntary displacement of Gazans and their [flight] to Europe," he added.

The White House claims it wishes to build the port to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza as hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are at risk of starvation due to Israel's blockade.

But the BBC noted that the port would take at least 60 days to build and that "charities have said those suffering in Gaza cannot wait that long."

If the US wished to stave off famine in Gaza, it could simply use its leverage as Israel's leading supplier of weapons to force Tel Aviv to allow more aid to enter by truck convoys through existing land crossings.

On 13 October, just days after the beginning of the war on Gaza, the Israeli Ministry of Intelligence issued a document calling for the forcible expulsion of the strip's 2.3 million inhabitants under a humanitarian guise.

The leaked document recommends making conditions in Gaza so uninhabitable that its population would be forced to flee to other countries, including Egypt's Sinai, Greece, Spain, and Canada.

Israel could justify the deportation to the international community, the plan stated, if it appears to lead to "fewer casualties among the civilian population compared to the expected number of casualties if they remain," the document says.

Israel's horrific bombardment of Gaza since 7 October has created just such conditions, killing at least 30,000 Palestinians, the majority women and children.

The risk of famine, caused by Israel's blockade, has also created conditions to make the deportation of 2.3 million Gazans appear as a humanitarian gesture.

These conditions could further be created should Israel conduct a ground operation in Rafah, where over a million Gazans displaced from other areas of the strip are sheltering.

Egypt has so far refused to allow Gazans into the Sinai, making deportation by sea to Europe more attractive for Israeli planners.

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) also issued a warning about the US plan to build a temporary port off the shore of Gaza.

The resistance movement emphasized that the US plan is "suspicious and dubious," as it would open the door to the forced displacement of Gaza's population under humanitarian and other pretexts.

The movement also accused President Joe Biden of establishing the port to appease public opinion in the US. As the presidential election nears, large segments of his Democratic voter base have criticized Biden for his support for Israel's ongoing Genocide in Gaza, including the lack of aid reaching starving Palestinians.

The PFLP statement added that the Palestinian Resistance will remain vigilant and will confront any "suspicious US plans or any other actions that might compel Palestinians to be expelled to liquidate the Palestinian cause."

The statement further confirmed that the US presence would be a legitimate target for the Resistance.

New Jersey real estate fair marketing land in occupied West Bank draws charged protests

There were tense scenes outside a New Jersey synagogue on Sunday where several hundred pro-Palestinian supporters assembled to demonstrate their outrage over a real estate event showcasing land and properties for purchase in Israel and the occupied West Bank.

Several dozen pro-Israel supporters from the local Teaneck community stood outside the synagogue and taunted and heckled the travelling pro-Palestine rally, resulting in several scuffles, at times forcing police intervention.

The event at the Keter Torah synagogue in Teaneck, organised by the Israel-based My Home in Israel, is just the latest in a string of real estate fairs taking place across North America featuring land and properties for sale in the occupied West Bank. Activists say it isn't just unconscionable but also illegal under international law.

"You cannot sell anything that isn't yours. [And] these sales are taking place in New Jersey and then they are going there [to the occupied West Bank] and taking people's homes," Alex, a New Jersey resident, told Middle East Eye.

"This is violation of international law. It is abhorrent that we had to come out here to protest against this," Alex, who only offered his first name, added.

Protesters beat drums, waved Palestinian flags, and chanted "shame", in the hope that it would reverberate to those showcasing properties and land.

Earlier on Sunday, police and private security turned the synagogue in Teaneck, a town close to Manhattan, New York City, into a fortress.

Dozens of police cars blocked off the road and blocked off parking on the roads leading up to the synagogue.

The local police department set up barricades and directed pro-Palestine supporters to the sidewalk across the road from the synagogue.

Explaining the heightened security on Friday, township manager Dean Kazinci told residents that the town would be "maintaining public order, safeguarding the rights of peaceful demonstrators and ensuring the protection of the synagogue and its visitors". He also said he did not have the authority to shut down the event.

In practise, organisers said, the town was facilitating Israel's ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

"There is a connection between things that happen here and violence that happens abroad," Alex added.

Rebecca, along with other pro-Israel supporters interviewed by MEE, said she didn't think it was a problem that land in the occupied West Bank was being marketed to prospective Jewish buyers. She said that all the land belonged to Israel.

Likewise, another protester, Jacob, who said he had come to show that "Jews were not afraid", said he wasn't aware that occupied land was being showcased at the private event at the synagogue. But he wasn't against it.

"If they are selling land in Israel or in any of the contested areas, I am for it," Jacob, who also offered his first name, said. "The Palestinians had their chance to live alongside Jews in their own state," he added.

Adam Weissman, an anti-Zionism Jewish activist, described the response by the pro-Israel supporters in Teacneck as cynical, cowardly and lacking empathy.

"They made racial slurs at the protesters. They made transphobic comments. And they made other gestures. Then they threw water bottles. And when they became scared, they hid behind the cops."

Access to the event on Sunday was heavily policed and restricted by a large police contingent as well as the private security firm Community Security Service (CSS), which specifically provides security to the Jewish community.

Outside the synagogue, MEE observed masked CSS officials taking photographs of the registration plates of every car that carried pro-Palestinian emblems.

The CSS did not reply to MEE's request for comment.

While organisers of the event said there was no restriction on who could attend the events, activists told MEE that the organisers had placed several barriers to filter out non-Jewish participants. These include having to name their synagogue and rabbi to get in.

"Even Jewish participants were rejected because of pro-Palestine views," Weissman told MEE.

My Israel Home did not reply to MEE's request for comment.

Real estate fairs promoting purchasing property or relocating to Israel are commonplace in the US. Weissman says there are upwards of 11 real estate events in March 2024 alone.

Gidon Katz, a British Israeli who organised the real estate event on Sunday in Teaneck, told Haaretz that just one of the projects showcased at the fair featured a settlement in the occupied West Bank.

"First of all, let's take things in perspective. We're marketing 100 different projects. There's only one in Gush Etzion. Secondly, whatever you believe, everyone knows that Gush Etzion will be part of Israel in any future peace settlement," Katz said.

Two more real estate fairs are planned in Cedarhurst, on Long Island, on Tuesday, and in Flatbush, Brooklyn, on Wednesday.
