    The floods that started in March have prompted 10 Kazakh regions to declare emergencies
    ASTANA, April 8. /TASS/. Major floods have inundated 14 anthrax-contaminated cattle burial sites in western Kazakhstan, a regional Kazakh official said.

    "In order to prevent dangerous infectious diseases of animals in the territories where emergencies have occurred, all livestock will be under the supervision of veterinary services. As soon as possible, all animals will be vaccinated against anthrax," said the official, Nurkayyr Kusayynov, who heads the veterinary and sanitary safety department at the Western Kazakhstan Region’s veterinary department, the Uralskaya Nedelya newspaper reported.

    The floods that started in March have prompted 10 Kazakh regions to declare emergencies. Since the beginning of the flooding, more than 75,000 people have been rescued, including more than 18,000 children. About 3,745 single-family homes remain flooded.

    This anomaly that seemingly came from Antarctica is about 2,000 mi/3,128 km long & 1,500 mi/2,414 km wide and moving north. It shows wave height at 80+ ft/24 m. I checked Ventusky and it doesn't appear. This story is also on the Hal Turner Radio Show.

    This can be categorized as a weather anomaly. It appeared on 04/09/24 & back on 02/21/24. He points out that it's a major shipping lane and he hasn't heard anything about ships sinking due to the extreme waves.

    UAE weather: Dubai diverts inbound flights due to ‘exceptional’ rainfall

    Heavy thunderstorms and rain showers in the UAE have caused flight cancelations and delays across the country, airlines reported on Tuesday, with Dubai International Airport diverting inbound flights as storms intensified.

    Torrential rain and thunderstorms have battered parts of the country, flooding houses, submerging roads, and causing weather warnings across the Emirates.

    The adverse weather has also caused flight cancellations and delays across the UAE.

    In a statement provided to Al Arabiya English, a Dubai Airports spokesperson said: “Dubai Airports can confirm that due to the continued exceptional weather event currently being experienced in the UAE, Dubai International (DXB) is temporarily diverting inbound flights due to arrive this evening on Tuesday, 16 April until the inclement situation im-proves. Departures will continue to operate.”

    “The airport is working hard with its response teams and service partners to restore normal operations and minimize inconvenience to our customers. We urge guests to check directly with the airline to obtain the latest information on the status of their flight, allow significant extra travel time to the airport and use the Dubai metro where possible.”

    Earlier in the day it said that due to the “intense storm,” operations were temporarily suspended Tuesday afternoon. At the time, it said a total of 21 outbound and 24 inbound flights had been cancelled, and three flights were diverted to other neighbouring airports.

    “There is major flooding on access roads around Dubai leading to the airport and current weather forecasts indicate that the unsettled weather will continue to cause delays and disruption into the early hours of Wednesday (17th April) morning.”

    “Response teams have been activated and we are working closely with airlines and other service partners to restore normal operations at the earliest and minimise inconvenience to our customers. We are actively collaborating with our service partners and airlines to minimise any inconvenience experienced by our valued guests.”

    In a statement, Dubai’s budget airline flydubai also reported weather-related delays, saying: “The adverse weather conditions in the UAE on 16 April impacted our flight schedule at Dubai International (DXB).”

    “We have canceled some flights as a result and are currently experiencing some delays. We are working hard to minimize any disruption to our passengers’ travel schedules and are coordinating with all parties at the airport,” the airline said early Tuesday.

    “We will continue to monitor the weather conditions closely and we advise our passengers to allow extra time for their journey to the airport and to check the status of their flight on flydubai.com.”

    Residents across the country woke to black skies and heavy downpours, with the wet spell expected to last until Wednesday morning.

    A ‘second wave’ of wet weather was reported across the UAE on Tuesday evening, the UAE’s NCM has reported.

    Here's a segment from the recent UAE news report Tuesday confirming 'cloud seeding' which, in a hilarious and pathetic attempt to debunk, the Guardian newspaper ran this headline today: Don’t blame cloud seeding for the Dubai floods They're the pits, really.

    "📎 Large-scale Floods in the Russian Federation
    The spring floods of 2024 in Russia turned into a real disaster. The consequences of the flood were felt in 39 regions of the country, but the situation was particularly dire in the Orenburg region. The breach of a dam, built to protect the city of Orsk from the overflow of the Ural River, led to the emergency evacuation of local residents. The floods resulted in a decrease in the quality of tap water and a shortage of drinking water.

    📎 Sudden Flooding in Oman
    From April 14, heavy rains with thunderstorms led to widespread flooding in many provinces of the Sultanate of Oman. Floods affected the provinces of Muscat, North Al Batinah, South Al Batinah, South Al Sharqiyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dakhira, and Al Dhahirah. The floods caused significant material damage and led to disruptions in power supply and communication networks.

    📎 Deadly Floods in Pakistan
    On April 16, Pakistani authorities reported that at least 50 people had died in the country over the past few days due to intense unseasonal rains, lightning, and floods. Dozens more were injured. The most affected provinces were Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the northwest, Punjab in the east, and Balochistan in the southwest. Settlements and agricultural lands were submerged. Power and transport networks were disrupted, and schools were closed.

    📎 Record Rains in the United Arab Emirates
    On April 16, the United Arab Emirates experienced the heaviest rains in 75 years. The government issued a red alert, schools, banks, and offices were closed across the country. In the Al Ain area, a record amount of rainfall was recorded in 75 years: 10 inches of rain fell here within 24 hours, compared to the annual rainfall norm of 1.9 inches.

    📎 Powerful Eruption of Mount Ruang in Indonesia
    On April 16, the eruption of Mount Ruang began in the North Sulawesi province, Indonesia. According to the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, there were more than 1000 earthquakes in the two days preceding the eruption. On Tuesday, the volcano spewed lava, and a column of smoke rose more than a mile into the sky. The eruption was accompanied by explosions and volcanic lightning.

    📎 Weather Apocalypse in China
    For the first time in China's history, there have been such a large number of weather anomalies simultaneously.
    On April 16, the city of Fuzhou in Jiangxi province was hit by a convective storm with thunder, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds. On the same day, a tornado swept through Huaiyuan County, Shouzhou District, Shanxi Province. In the evening of April 16, due to severe convective weather, hail fell in Huangjian County, Guangxi Province, accompanied by thunderstorms and heavy rains.

    ❗ Currently, there are climatic events occurring cyclically every 12,000 years that could lead to a global catastrophe. To prevent a negative scenario, it is important for people to be aware of what is happening and to act together. Scientists and volunteers already understand the true causes of natural anomalies, what their consequences will be, and how we can prevent them. This information is available on the "Global Crisis. The Responsibility" forum:

    Deadly floods wreak havoc in Kenya’s capital
    East Africa has been lashed by relentless downpours in recent weeks, as El Nino exacerbates the seasonal rainfall.

    Storms and flash floods turned roads into gushing rivers and swamped homes with waist-high muddy water across the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, killing at least 10 people.

    The East Africa region has been lashed by relentless downpours in recent weeks, as the El Nino weather pattern exacerbates the seasonal rainfall.

    Across Nairobi, vehicles were stranded in the deluge and people waded through floodwaters in slum areas to reach safety.

    According to the Nairobi county governor’s office, an estimated 60,000 people, mostly women and children, have been “severely affected” by the floods.

    The Kenya Meteorological Department warned that “heavy to very heavy” rainfall was forecast in various parts of the country until May.

    In one incident on Wednesday, police fired tear gas to disperse angry residents who had blocked a main highway with long queues of cars calling for government action over the floods.

    Kenya Railways announced it was temporarily suspending commuter train services, while the roads authority said four roads in the capital had been partly closed.

    Homes were engulfed in the sprawling Nairobi slum of Mathare, where residents took to rooftops to save their lives and belongings.

    The Red Cross said the Athi River, the second longest in Kenya that runs south of Nairobi to the Indian Ocean, had burst its banks, blocking roads and leaving residents stranded.

    Bangladesh reels under longest heat wave in 76 years

    DHAKA, Bangladesh

    Bangladesh experienced its longest heat wave in recorded history this April with forecasts showing no improvement for the rest of the month, according to meteorologists.

    Md. Bazlur Rashid, a meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, told Anadolu that heat waves swept across the entire country for 27 days straight until Saturday.

    “According to the data available since 1948, this month (April) has already seen records of heat wave days in a single year,” he added.

    This year, for the first time, nearly 75% of the country has experienced continuous heat waves.

    The closest example of such extreme heat was recorded in 2014 when the country saw 25 days of heat wave, Rashid added.

    The Met Office weather forecast said Saturday that a very severe heat wave was sweeping over mid-west, west, and central Bangladesh, while the rest of the country was seeing severe to mild heat waves.

    “Climate change is among the major causes of the extreme weather,” said Rashid, adding that the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka has become a tough place to live in during summer, due to declining greenery and water bodies.

    Meanwhile, a season-high temperature of 42.7C (108.9F) was recorded in Chuadanga on Friday.

    A recent study by the Met Office showed that both the minimum and maximum temperatures in the country are increasing, with the maximum temperature increasing rapidly.

    The extreme weather conditions have disrupted people’s lives and livelihoods, especially for low-income groups, in the South Asian nation of 170 million.

    In the second week of April, the country was forced to shut schools and educational institutions for a week due to the scorching heat wave.

    Tornado in southern China leaves 5 dead, 33 injured

    Five people died and 33 others were injured Saturday as a strong tornado hit China’s southern province of Guangdong, local media reported.

    A total of 141 factories were damaged in the Baiyun, according to state-run Xinhua News Agency.

    Numerous firefighting and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area for relief efforts.

    I wrote this here on 20 April, a couple weeks ago, on the Turmoil in Ecuador thread. There wasn't really any 'turmoil', just scheduled intermittent power cuts due to little rainfall in the rainy season. (The hydro-electric reservoirs were very low.)

    ~~~
    The problem is El Niño transitioning to La Niña (the climatological intricacies of which I don't pretend to fully understand, as it's all very complicated and hard to model), and this is affecting ALL of South America at the moment with lack of rainfall.
    The dry weather is great for mountain hiking, but this is meant to be the rainy season (January—June) and it's mostly been like summer (July—December).
    So if it's not going to rain much when it's supposed to be raining, this really is an 'emergency'. Come July, things may get drier still, but no-one really knows for sure. And low reservoir levels mean the hydro-electric power stations can't work at full capacity. That's the problem.
    So there are daily power cuts now, which started a week ago, but all at announced times — easy to plan for, and most of daily life is unaffected. (Gas stations, banks, healthcare services etc are all unaffected too, and many stores, including all the largest ones, have their own generators. And the myriads of small roadside market stalls selling fresh fruit and veg don't need electricity anyway.)
    ~~~

    Then on Saturday, 3 days ago, Cuenca had the heaviest rain in 70 (seventy) years.

    This really is climate change. (NOT global warming! But climate change, for sure.)

    Some roads were blocked for a while by big landslides (I took this 40-second video this morning), but no-one was hurt, the farmers are happy — and the reservoirs are all full again, so there are no more power cuts.

    Giant hail stones destroyed homes, property, crops, birds & livestock in India. Some of the roofs look like Swiss cheese.

    watchers
    Quote The districts of Imphal West and Imphal East were the hardest hit, with 6 053 and 5 600 homes damaged, respectively. Additional damages were reported in Bishnupur, Thoubal, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, Ukhrul, and other areas, totaling the destruction of over 15 000 homes.

    The hailstorm also left many vehicles with cracked windows or severe damage due to the size of the hailstones and the strength of the winds.

    In addition, at least six churches in the hilly districts suffered significant damage, including roofs being torn off by strong winds.

    Brasil 🇧🇷 Climate and meteorology experts state that the events of heavy rains and flooding in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul (RS) throughout the week can already be considered the biggest climate catastrophe in Brazil's history. Most cities do not have cell phone signal, much less internet... There is a lack of electricity and water in many municipalities…This affected almost the entire state of Rio Grande do Sul
