Scranton Army Ammunition Plant: what you need to know

US media reported on Tuesday that a fire broke out at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant (SCAAP) in Pennsylvania.

🔶 The factory is owned by the US military but operated by General Dynamics-Ordnance and Tactical Systems, and controlled by the United States Army Joint Munitions Command.

🔶 It has been the leading source of US joint large-caliber artillery metal parts for over 60 years.

🔶 The plant manufactures 155mm and 105mm artillery projectiles, 120mm mortar rounds, 203mm naval shells, as well as a variety of smoke, illumination, and incendiary rounds.

🔶 The SCAAP was established back in 1953 and in recent years reportedly faced challenges of degraded infrastructure and legacy production equipment that had exceeded their service time.

🔶 It has specifically been modernized to support Washington’s push for providing Kiev with military aid. Due to the expedition of funding, its plan was increased by 86% to meet voracious Kiev's requests.

🔶 According to the project director, as of May 3, 2023, the Army awarded more than $243 million to procure equipment for Scranton’s production capacity increase and facility modernization in fiscal years 2022 and 2023 through Ukraine supplemental appropriations.

🔶 The equipment includes new production lines for the M1128, XM1113/XM1210 — new rocket-assisted projectiles for increased range — and for M795 capacity expansion to 35,000 artillery shells per month.

🔶 Before the beginning of the Ukraine conflict, the Scranton plant produced an average of 7,000 artillery shells per month. The factory’s current goal is to produce at least 35,000 projectiles monthly by 2027, in line with the US’ plans to support the Kiev regime as the Ukraine aid remains stalled in Congress.

Doubled checked this to find out what country it was. and it seems that it happened in Moscow in July 2013 to two vehicles with gas cannisters on board, not electric. One vehicle was a bus. There were no fatalities thank goodness. Spectacular explosions though.

AIR CANADA EMPLOYEES ARRESTED FOR MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR GOLD HEIST

Peel Regional Police have charged nine individuals, including Air Canada employees and a former manager, in the theft of $14.5 million in gold and $1.8 million in foreign currencies from Pearson International Airport.

The heist involved a truck driver who presented a duplicated bill of lading for seafood at the Air Canada cargo warehouse to illegally obtain and later melt down gold for purchasing illegal firearms.

Kenya defense chopper accident kills military chief and 9 others

NAIROBI, Kenya

Kenya's military chief Gen. Francis Ogolla was among 10 people killed as a military helicopter crashed on Thursday, President William Ruto announced.

Ruto in an address to the nation declared three days of national mourning to honor the fallen heroes where flags will fly at half-mast.

He said the ill-fated Kenya Air Force helicopter departed from the capital Nairobi for the North Rift region as part of Operation Maliza Uhalifu (Swahili for End Banditry).

Gen. Ogolla, a distinguished four-star general, was en route to visit troops deployed in the area and to inspect ongoing school renovation projects.

“Together with him in the crash were 11 other gallant military personnel, nine who also passed on and two survivors,” Ruto said.

Nine others killed in the crash were senior military officers: Brig. Swale Saidi, Col. Duncan Keittany, Lt. Colonel David Sawe, Maj. George Benson Magondu, Captain Sora Mohamed, Captain Hillary Litali, Sr. Sgt. John Kinyua Mureithi, Sgt. Cliphonce Omondi, and Sgt. Rose Nyawira.

“Our motherland has lost one of her most valiant generals, gallant officers, service men and woman. The demise of Gen. Ogolla is a painful loss to me, and certainly, the sorrow we all feel about his passing is shared by all the people of Kenya, and especially the KDF fraternity,” the president said.

Ruto expressed profound sorrow over the accident, extending condolences to the families and loved ones of those who perished in the crash.

The Kenya Air Force has constituted and dispatched an air investigations team to establish the cause of the crash, he said.

WASHINGTON, April 18 (Reuters) - Israeli missiles have hit a site in Iran, ABC News reported late on Thursday, citing a U.S. official, while Iranian state media reported an explosion in the center of the country, days after Iran launched a retaliatory drone strike on Israel.
Reuters could not immediately confirm the reports.
Iran's Fars news agency said an explosion was heard at an airport in the central city of Isfahan but the cause was not immediately known. Iran suspended flights over the cities of Isfahan, Shiraz and Tehran, state media reported.

JUST IN: The FBI says Chinese hackers are preparing to launch an attack on U.S. infrastructure.

FBI Director Chris Wray said the Chinese will have the "ability to physically wreak havoc on our critical infrastructure at a time of its choosing."

Wray said that the Chinese have successfully gained access to companies throughout the U.S. in energy, telecommunications, water and have targeted 23 pipeline operators.

“The PRC [People’s Republic of China] has made it clear that it considers every sector that makes our society run as fair game in its bid to dominate on the world stage, and that its plan is to land low blows against civilian infrastructure to try to induce panic and break America’s will to resist."

A fire broke out at Timberline Lodge in Oregon. It was used as the filming location for the movie The Shining.

An inferno has broken out inside of the historic Timberline Lodge in Oregon late on Thursday, the hotel and ski resort made famous in 1980 as the setting for horror classic The Shining.

Four different fire departments were called to the scene in the community of Government Camp, around 60 miles east of Portland, after a blaze broke out in the attic of the building at 9:30pm.

An official said that rescue workers are trying to preserve the 'historic assets' from the lodge, reports Fox Portland.

Kids in Australia Utah protest against fellow students who identify as animals. Turns out the students who identify as animals act like animals. People who identify as animals, then dress up as them, call themselves furries. One furry representative "Strudel" said she was disappointed with some of her furry comrades for acting like a-holes and causing the problem. She's in the interview dressed like a cartoon dog. Welcome to the 21th century.

The kids protesting argue that they couldn't even wear a mask for halloween, so why do the furries get to wear masks all the time? But their main problem is the scratching and biting.

Sky News host Rita Panahi criticises schools for not doing enough to protect children from being “terrorised” by ‘furries’.

‘Furries’ are people who identify as animals, usually cats or dogs, and exhibit animal behaviour, such as walking on their hands and legs or wearing costumes.

About 75 parents and students at Mt Nebo Middle School protested against ‘furries’ who allegedly have been biting and licking other students.

“These kids say they are not only being terrorised by these ‘furries’ pretending to be cats, dogs, foxes, but they also complain about the double standards,” Ms Panahi said.

“They say that they are not allowed to wear masks for Halloween, but these ‘furries’ are wearing masks to school every day, and they can’t say anything to the furries, but the furries have free reign to intimidate the other students.”

'Furries' are people who identify as cartoon animals and then often get costumes made/ordered to wear so they can live their reality. They draw what their identity looks like on on deviant art (their 'fursona'). If you image search 'furries' the results will show you what they want to look like.

Then they sometimes get together and yiff. I've said too much and people might be eating their dinner, so appologies if that's you.

Live and let live? Sure why not? If they act like animals and bite people should we treat them like we treat animals? Anyway, these kids have had enough of the furries crossing the line of sanity and bullying people, good for them.
