    Default UK General Election 2024, and its aftermath

    .

    I wrote the following in another thread but I think the General Election coming up in the UK on July 4th deserves one of it's own.....

    So to introduce the subject...........

    *********************************

    According to the ongoing Polls on who people intend to vote for... Labour can't lose - well we'll see how accurate that is when it comes to election day....

    This General Election with Nigel Farage at the helm of Reform UK is a bit like (lot like?) Brexit Mark 11...Brexit 2.0... and we might remember what happened back then - the majority of Polls got it wrong -

    Farage himself is saying that Labour are going to win and he wants Reform UK to be part of a proper opposition -
    But we might also remember that on the day of the EU Referendum back in 2016 (23rd June) Nigel went home thinking all was lost then had to come back to the celebrations when the final result came in... ....

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    No one is factoring in George Galloway and The Workers Party of Britain - and the fact that they will be pulling votes away from Labour where ever they stand, (90 constituencies) including taking a substantial Muslim vote that had previously gone to Labour... I think many staunch Conservatives will, in the privacy of the voting booth go for Reform - many staunch Labour Voters who voted to Leave in the EU referendum - then followed up by helping the Tories get an 80 seat majority... so they could 'get Brexit done'....will, I think, go for Nigel + Reform UK...
    Note that the MSM (and all the Election Polls) are obviously under strict instruction to totally ignore George and the Workers Party of Britain....because their (MSM) Paymasters want Labour to win.... Tony Blair + his Globalist Buddies are pulling Labour's strings behind the scenes, no doubt...
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Of course there was (and is) so much opposition (overt and covert) to Brexit... from the Deep State, the Global Elite, the powerful mega rich corporations, the MSM and the Political Class (etc)... that it hasn't been easy and the struggle is ongoing... and a significant number of Brexit Labour Voters could very well switch to Reform UK.... to again try to 'get Brexit done'... and maintain the Brexit result...

    What I'm saying is... I don't believe the outcome is as predictable as we are being led to believe...

    Starmer is uninspiring and unappealing - this is the best chance of disempowering the Two Party Merry~Go~Round that British Voters have had for many many decades...

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    and finally (for now ).... I know it's America...but.... remember how Clinton according to the Polls couldn't lose to Trump in 2016... even the Bookies had her at 90% + to win until they had to scramble and adjust their odds at the last minute...
    IMO Labour winning a big majority on July 4th is not a Done Deal..
    • UK "SHOCK" POLL — Nigel Farage’s Reform UK Is For The First Time Now AHEAD Of The Conservatives:
    The “undercurrent towards nationalism” in world affairs continues its inexorable flow — and this time it’s the UK to be bobbing along the stream.
    For the first time ever — and crucially less than three weeks away from the UK’s snap general election — Nigel Farage’s Reform UK has taken the lead over Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party.
    A YouGov poll commissioned by the Times of London puts Reform at 19% and the Tories at 18%. I have no sympathy for the Oldest Political Party in the World though — that’s what you get for BETRAYING Margaret Thatcher’s heroic legacy. Good riddance to the scumbags.
    exactly -
    clearly, the mega wealthy Ruling Class have control of the two main parties and don't want interlopers like Nigel Farage + Reform UK or George Galloway + The Workers Party of Britain, rocking their boat...
    I didnt like brexit when it happened at the time and even now that I approve of any maneuvre that destabilizes globalsm I cant see it has had any benefit at all. Still lots of food is imported etc. And the farmers are given a real hard time with the net zero agenda dictated by something bigger than the EU.
    My vote would go to the party most likely to blow the lid on the covid/vax thing.
    I cant vote though as I only have settlement status in the UK.
    Well...if you could vote and if you lived in North West Leicestershire - here's the candidate for you -
    In this current age I think most who desire to be an MP simply want a position of power. With a few who want to become MPs to do it for good reasons. The few.
    When it comes to "Career Politicians" who study Law, Economics or Politics at University... then go straight on to work as a Government Aide. Ban them all!!
    I'm embarrassed to think Britain is probably about to elect a so called left party into governments in the middle of a swing to the right across the rest of Europe. Apparently, Sunak doesn't want to be a war Prime Minister. That kinda tells me we should vote for him in this stupid fake representational government panto.
    I'm sure this won't be welcome around here but I see Farage as a right-side vote spitter to guarantee a Labor win.
    I'd love to see something good come out of this but I won't hold my breath.
    YES!
    Here's the complete audience performance from 1985 which I'd saved ages ago: if I can dig it out of my personal archive I'll share that version. This YouTube version isn't high-quality - 360P - but still very much enjoyable enough all the same:
    I like Billy Connolly, but I really cannot watch the example video you have posted. The reason is because it is just as much about the 'celebrities' as it is about the performer.
    For those people outside the UK (and without wanting to be patronising), the audience is solely made up of tv personalities, with not a regular joe in sight.
    Is it really necessary to have a reaction shot from the audience after every funny line?
    Are we supposed to think any better of these people because they are laughing along with us?
    There are some decidedly 'dodgy' people in that audience, if you take my meaning....
    The contract, which has been presented by the party instead of a manifesto, vows to protect British values, fight left-wing bias and scrap the TV licence fee.
    No need to follow anyone, only consider broadening (y)our horizon of possibilities ...
    .
    The Conservatives are bringing Boris Johnson into their election campaign - which has risks attached because of the whole 'Partygate' scandal - (when Johnson and others broke 'covid rules' and partied as the general public were locked down - which logically meant that they KNEW there was no serious risk to mixing with other people - and as it turned out it was a FAKE pandemic - so they must have been privy to that scam...? )
    Johnson has cultivated the bumbling, harmless, British eccentric image - that helped the Conservatives to rope in vast numbers of Labour voters who delivered a stonking 80 seat majority for them in 2019 - to 'get Brexit done' -
    'they' must have something on Boris IMO - something that forces him back to help them - ? blackmail, bribery, threats that can't be ignored...? who bloody knows what goes on behind the scenes with these people...
    Previous Labour voters ONLY gave (loaned) the Tories their vote to 'get Brexit done' - now Nigel is back on the scene that particular ploy will not work this time -
    Tories turn to Boris Johnson to counter Reform- Yahoo article
    Quote Boris Johnson is being drafted in by the Tories to play a more active role in the election campaign as the party seeks to counter the threat from Reform UK.
    Tens of thousands of letters signed by the former prime minister, who has been pictured on holiday in Italy, are due to be delivered to voters later this week, The Telegraph can reveal.
    It comes after the Conservatives warned that a vote for Reform risked putting Labour in power for “a generation”.
    The direct mail drive urging people to vote Tory is Mr Johnson’s closest involvement yet in the Conservatives’ attempts to defy the polls.
    Now.... if the Conservatives were REALLY serious about stopping Labour they would stand down and give Reform UK a clear path to power... just like Nigel and the Brexit Party did in the 2019 election... they could return the 'favour' ....
    Problem with that - for them - is because they are one half of the Uniparty.... so those who pull their strings are rooting for Labour - the other half of the Uniparty.... and no doubt banking on Labour (secretly run by the likes of Tony Blair and Peter Mandelson behind the scenes..?) ........ taking Britain back into the EU......
    The EU being a huge bastion of the New Fascist World Order.... they want the UK back in .... and they are on the brink of getting their way -
    Will the public pull together and stop them...? We'll see what happens on July 4th...
    More from North West Leicestershire ...and Andrew Bridgen campaigning as an Independent after getting chucked out of the Conservative Party for, basically being too honest and 'off message' regarding the so called Covid 'vaccine' - the harms and excess deaths -
    The Battle for North West Leicestershire, Day -17: Castle Donington (3:01)
    He speaks at one point about how Keir Starmer is saying he won't take us back into the EU - while at the same time taking us back into the EU in all but naming it as such... regarding trade and defence...
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    and on the subject of Keir Starmer.... I heard a bit of juicy gossip yesterday - shall I say what it was....?

    to hell with it I will (while noting that it might not be true)......... apparently he and the deputy leader of the Labour Party Angela Rainer - (both of them are married with children)..... are supposed to be having an affair.. oo er missus...

    Of course because those who own the MSM want Labour to win (Deep State - Globalist Elite)...we won't be seeing anything about it in the press or on the telly -

    I do wonder if it will all come out via the back door as the election approaches...

    If there were rumours like this about any of the other leaders it would be exploited for all it's worth...

    Agreed to how Labour voters "loaned" their votes to get Brexit done, but I do feel its also that usual thing we always see in politics. People are so fed up with the ongoing status quo, that they'll vote for anything different. Thus many are looking toward Reform / Labour in hope of change.

    I believe Labour have it this time round, but votes for opposition parties will still have a chance of reducing the number of seats they'll get.

    At this point even if 'Reform UK' were voted in by some once in a life time miracle, the power that created this Uniparty system would still exist.

    I've had a few family members who have worked in Government to hear how things run, and the reality is probably 80% of all policies & positions held are formed...devised...and implemented by the Civil Service. Many people in the CS have been there longer than most elected MPs. They hold immense power.

    Most MPs at this point are figureheads. They should have only ever been figureheads (spokes persons) for the People & their constituencies as OUR representatives. Now it feels like MPs are figureheads for the Civil Service deviced plans & whoever the the CS receive their guidance from (!?).

    The Civil service just seem to tweak the base plans they have in place by 20% to cater it to the party currently in power. To match some of their manifesto policies.

    Even if 'Reform' got into power... as much as people would clap for seeing that 20% change they may bring (20% I'd be really happy with), the 80% of plans already in place just continue.

    You make good points.... the Civil Service are a law unto themselves and as you say 'hold immense power'..

    I saw this the other day which illustrates what you say... but takes it a step further into 'mafia' type territory... :/

    EXPOSED: Civil servants call for 'VIOLENCE' and 'ARREST' of Nigel Farage branding Reform 'EXTREMIST' - (5:46)

    'Two Home Office civil servants got in contact with me to tell GB news that their colleagues have called for violence against Nigel Farage.'

    Steven Edginton says some civil servants have discussed 'arresting' Nigel Farage and branded Reform UK as an 'extremist far-right group'.
