Default Information and Tips on Fasting

    Hi Avalonians 👋🏼

I’m looking for some information and advice on fasting. As informative as the internet has been this far in my journey, I would really like more reliable and first hand advice from those who have done it themselves?

It’s something I’m considering doing regularly for intervals, but don’t want to embark on the unknown without as much info as possible.

    All advice much appreciated 🤍

Depending on your ultimate objective, I have found that so-called "intermittent fasting" to be a sustainable, ongoing pattern of living to be the most effective, of course if you seek detoxification your more intense methods, and hence shorter-term is going to help you more -with intermittent fasting you simply abstain from feeding all day, you can drink coffee/tea/water of course, possibly a very small snack, but you hold off on major meals until after 6pm, then you have your evening meal, and also graze until midnight, if you feel hungry later in the evening. I have found this suits me, my body mass has stabilized at around 200lbs, I am six feet tall with a robust build, this is a healthy weight for me. I can recommend this evening feeding regime, sometimes I have a boiled egg for lunch, but no more than this, no breakfast, but I eat what I want at night. Worth a try!

I'm not fanatic about anything, outside been confident/relax/friendly..inside... well, don't mess with me...I'm a volcano in "siesta"...

To make up for this 2 side, from childhood played various sports...and Like every good meal on Earth, moderation is the key...

After a knee accident 4 years ago I can't jogging anymore...I swim, bike, and I got a work bank at home, and to complete my " continued" training I do fasting every Sunday.

Just liquids...all of them,(no alcohol of curse)

It help me for inflammation (if I got any ) flatted my stomach and I feel lighter and...very important! : train my will

"How I lost 61 lbs on a gradual fast that I did not consciously notice."

I never thought at age 73 that I would see my old high school weight again.

I call it a gradual fast.. because one starts slow.

To begin with.. Last Fall I bought a chain saw to cut numerous 75-100' dead, dying and crowded trees. I would work 3-5 hours 2-3 times a week. Then rest in between.
Being tired afterwards, I did not eat as much.. since I wanted a show and sleep.

Then my pants started falling off. I have gone from a 44" to 36" pants in about 9 months. 240 lbs to 179 today. My goal is 160 and a 32" pant size.

#1 - Remove all Wheat (Grains and Sugars would be good too). Wheat causes Hunger. It spikes your blood sugar.
#2 - Stay busy.. for hours. Get involved in something physically.. long walks, yard work, cutting trees and thistle brushes..
#3 - Start remove certain types of foods you eat. Less processed foods especially.
Eat more Meat, Fish, Shrimp, Eggs, Soups, Butter, Avocado Mayo to make Egg Salad. I like to cook Buffalo Hamburger in lots of butter, then add a Marianne Sauce of Alfredo Sauce and celebrate another weight loss milestone 1-2 times a month.
Eat smaller amounts of food.. Eat only 2 times a day.
A can of Tuna or Sardines may be plenty for one meal.
#4 - Buy Protein Drinks and Meal Replacement Powders (Maximum Vibrance is the one I use mainly) One needs to eat protein to avoid muscle loss.
I recommend Electrolytes also. Especially drink before and after working physically.
#5 - Start Intermediate Fasting. Then gradually cut back to 1 meal a day. Sometimes I would go for 2 days only drinking the Protein Meal Replacement and eating eggs.
#6 - Drink Water and Sleep. I make and drink Magnesium Bicarbonate Water.
One should also drink the "Adrenal Cocktail" 4oz of Water or OJ, 1/4 tsp of ground up Sea Salt and 1/4 tsp of Cream of Tartar = Potassium.
This goes through the liver and balances the Sodium and Potassium in the Adrenal Glands.
#7 - Don't weigh .. Judge your progress with your cloths falling off.
When you have to start buying smaller belts and pants.. you can start weighing once a week.

I had gained weight after a auto accident 9 years ago.. resulting in 3 separate blood clots, having an open shin wound to the bone over 3 years, whiplash and spasms from the neck to the tailbone. I could hardly walk for a year. They even wanted to cut my left leg off.

There has been zero hunger to deal with. Basically I have forgotten about food.
