It makes sense what you're saying Bill, unless there was no bullet. Was there anybody hit behind him, from the stray bullet?

Someone was hit, in the head, brain matter blown out, and killed, from one of the five or so initial shots. Two other spectators were seriously injured.

What I can see from this video, originally posted by Ravenlocke, is the blond lady with a maga cap on right behind Trump, drops or ducks. Not even 30 seconds after that, nobody seems horrified by the brain matter scattered all over the place.

Shouldn't be some kind of blood spraying behind Trump?

Dr. Jim Sweetland, an emergency room physician who was at the rally and witnessed the shooting, told CBS News by phone that he administered first aid to a man who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head.

"He was shot in the head, his body was twisted around and wedged between two benches that were in the stands," Sweetland said. "He was not breathing, he did not have a pulse. He appeared gravely ill."

With the help of three people, Sweetland said he was able to get the victim onto a bench and then began administering CPR and chest compressions.

"There was a lot of blood that was spilt on the stands where he lay, as well as brain matter," Sweetland said.

I’m not convinced that’s a bullet hole. It is may be blood from the ear wound. A liquid on dark blue material turns the blue almost black. The black can then appear to be a hole or a tear.

Trump himself said he was hit in the ear. Is he playing it down? Was he hit in the chest and a fragment struck his ear? I don’t know.

But, again, I’m not convinced from this photo what we see is a bullet hole.

Coincidentally I was writing an article today about how some people in certain circumstances seem to be impervious to physical attack. The Gnostics called it the robe of light but there are many accounts in various spiritual conditions.

The whole thing does not make sense to me. This is a bullet from an AR15 like rifle and should be doing far more damage even if it just grazed his ear and with the angle of his head and the trajectory of the bullet I question why it has not struck him further on his head. I can see why some people will interpret this as a staged event. But I do believe in divine intervention as well.

This is a bullet from an AR15 like rifle and should be doing far more damage

Shooting a moving target at (as I understand the reports) a few hundred yards range with accuracy down to perhaps 3 or 4 inches would require a better shot than I ever was (which admittedly isn't saying much).

Also I'd expect such ammo to require a bit resistance more than just an earlobe to cause it to start breaking up and really tearing into tissue.

I get your point about the earlobe but the bullet breaking up is not the only factor. They travel at such a high velocity that they land with a massive shock wave. This is an article that is trying to promote gun control but it does show how much more powerful is an AR15. A relevant example within the article is when it hit the thumb and mangled up the whole hand.

The more I think about this the more I'm thinking that there almost certainly had to be a designed breach in the security near where the shooter arrived on scene and then was able to climb up on the building.

Unfortunately, I'd be admitting to the excessive number of hours I've spent on "conspiracy theories" if I admitted that I find your hypothesis credible.

Also, and also unfortunately, I trust that the FBI will not give any such hypothesis as yours a fair hearing.

... maybe it's just as well that Trump doesn't have a "Full Presidential Detail".
