Enemies lurking on American soil set their sights on President-elect Trump’s Cabinet picks

Trump Cabinet nominees, appointees targeted with ‘violent, unAmerican threats’

Nearly a dozen of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees and other appointees tapped for the incoming administration were targeted Tuesday night with "violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them," prompting a "swift" law enforcement response, Fox News Digital has learned.

The "attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting,’" according to Trump-Vance transition spokeswoman and incoming White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. One of the officials issued a statement describing his incident as having involved a "pipe bomb threat" with "a pro-Palestinian themed message."

Sources told Fox News Digital that John Racliffe, the nominee to be CIA director, Pete Hegseth, the nominee for secretary of defense, and Rep. Elise Stefanik, the nominee for UN ambassador, were among those targeted. Brooke Rollins, who Trump has tapped to be secretary of agriculture, and Lee Zeldin, Trump's nominee to be EPA administrator, separately revealed they were also targeted.

"Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them," she told Fox News Digital on Wednesday. "In response, law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action."

Local law enforcement officials responded to the threats and visited the homes of several nominees and appointees, Fox News Digital has learned. New York State Police said in a statement that members and K9 units "trained in explosives detection swept" Stefanik's home in Saratoga "and did not locate any explosive devices."

The FBI also issued a statement on Wednesday noting the bureau was "aware" of the spate of incidents.

"The FBI is aware of numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting incoming administration nominees and appointees, and we are working with our law enforcement partners," it said. "We take all potential threats seriously and, as always, encourage members of the public to immediately report anything they consider suspicious to law enforcement."

Leavitt said Trump and the transition team "are focused on doing the work of uniting our nation by ensuring a safe and prosperous future."

"With President Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us," she said.

Zeldin was among several officials who posted on social media or released statements about being targeted. He also revealed details about his particular incident.

"A pipe bomb threat targeting me and my family at my home today was sent in with a pro-Palestinian themed message," the Zeldin statement read. "My family and I were not home at the time and are safe. We are working with law enforcement to learn more as this situation develops. We are thankful for the swift actions taken by local officers to keep our family, neighbors, and local community secure."

Stefanik's office confirmed in a post on X that she was one of the targets of the incident.

"This morning, Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, her husband, and their three-year-old son were driving home to Saratoga County from Washington for Thanksgiving when they were informed of a bomb threat to their residence," the post stated. "New York State, County law enforcement, and U.S. Capitol Police responded immediately with the highest levels of professionalism. We are incredibly appreciative of the extraordinary dedication of law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe 24/7."

Rollins, in a post on X, said her "home and family" were threatened.

"This morning, we learned that a threat was issued against our home and family," she wrote. "Thanks to the swift efforts by the @fortworthpd we were unharmed and quickly returned home. I want to express my deep gratitude to the law-enforcement professionals who did their utmost, in both speed and expertise, to protect us — as they protect our community every single day."

The threats come mere months after Trump survived two assassination attempts.

Just days before accepting the Republican nomination, Trump was shot at a rally on July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania. During the event, Trump was displaying a chart highlighting skyrocketing illegal immigration under the Biden-Harris administration. As he turned toward the chart, he was hit by a bullet that pierced the upper part of his right ear by the now-deceased would-be-assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks. Trump credits the chart for saving his life.

Weeks later, in September, another would-be-assassin hid in the bushes at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. The alleged gunman, Ryan Wesley Routh, had an AK-47-style rifle pointing through the fence toward Trump as the GOP nominee was golfing. Trump was rushed off the golf course by U.S. Secret Service agents unharmed.

Trump Taps Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, Co-author of ‘Great Barrington Declaration,’ to Lead NIH

"The NIH — the “nation’s medical research agency” — oversees 27 separate institutes and controls a budget of nearly $48 billion. It is a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

President-elect Donald J. Trump late Tuesday nominated Jay Bhattacharya, M.D., Ph.D., professor of health policy at Stanford’s School of Medicine, to lead the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

The NIH — the “nation’s medical research agency” — oversees 27 separate institutes and centers and controls a budget of nearly $48 billion. It is a division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

“I am thrilled to nominate Jay Bhattacharya, MD, PhD, to serve as Director of the National Institutes of Health,” Trump announced on X. “Dr. Bhattacharya will work in cooperation with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to direct the Nation’s Medical Research, and to make important discoveries that will improve Health, and save lives.”

Bhattacharya, a vocal critic of COVID-19 lockdowns and a champion of academic freedom, said on X that he is “honored and humbled” by the nomination.

“We will reform American scientific institutions,” he wrote, “so that they are worthy of trust again and will deploy the fruits of excellent science to make America healthy again!”

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., founder of Children’s Health Defense (CHD) and Trump’s nominee to lead the HHS, praised the choice, which will need to be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

“I’m so grateful to President Trump for this spectacular appointment,” Kennedy wrote on X. “Dr. Jay Bhattacharya is the ideal leader to restore NIH as the international template for gold-standard science and evidence-based medicine.”

CHD CEO Mary Holland said, “CHD welcomes the nomination of Dr. Bhattacharya as a scientist of integrity. It is a great sign that he will now have the opportunity to lead this critical health institution.”

CHD Chief Scientific Officer Brian Hooker agreed. “I believe Dr. Bhattacharya will be an excellent director of NIH and will lead to a complete overhaul of the agency.”

Bhattacharya has long called for changes to NIH. In a January interview with The Washington Post, he said that NIH officials — especially Dr. Anthony Fauci — amassed too much power.

“I would restructure the NIH to allow there to be many more centers of power,” Bhattacharya told the Post, “so that you couldn’t have a small number of scientific bureaucrats, dominating a field for a very long time.”

Fauci directed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, a division of the NIH, from 1983 to 2022. Rep. Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio), chairman of the U.S. House of Representatives Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic said in a statement to the Post that Bhattacharya “is respected within the medical community and would ensure that public health returns to science-based solutions — not bureaucratic failed practices.”

The NIH awards roughly 50,000 grants annually to more than 300,000 researchers at over 2,500 universities, medical schools and other research institutions.

Trump also reveals his choice for HHS deputy secretary

Also on Tuesday, Trump announced on X his pick for HHS deputy secretary, Jim O’Neill.

O’Neill — who led earlier reforms at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration — “will oversee all operations and improve Management, Transparency, and Accountability to, Make America Healthy Again,” Trump said on X.

Kennedy called O’Neill the “perfect partner” to help him “restore HHS to its incorruptible scientific research and public health priorities,” given his “rich experience in government and industry.”

    Bhattacharya co-authored declaration against lockdowns

If confirmed, Bhattacharya, who holds a doctorate in economics and a medical degree from Stanford, will replace Dr. Monica M. Bertagnolli.

He is a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a senior fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and the Stanford Freeman Spogli Institute. He has authored dozens of peer-reviewed articles.

Early in the COVID-19 pandemic, Bhattacharya co-authored the “Great Barrington Declaration,” a document criticizing lockdowns for the physical and mental health harms they would cause — especially for children.

He and his co-authors — all infectious disease epidemiologists and public health scientists — argued for a “Focused Protection” approach to COVID-19 that minimized social harm and mortality until society reached “herd immunity.”

    The declaration stated:

“The most compassionate approach that balances the risks and benefits of reaching herd immunity, is to allow those who are at minimal risk of death to live their lives normally to build up immunity to the virus through natural infection, while better protecting those who are at highest risk.”

The document drew hundreds of thousands of signatures in support — but also drew criticism from top NIH officials, including Fauci and Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., then-director of NIH.

Former NIH leader called him ‘fringe’

In an email to Fauci obtained under the Freedom of Information Act, Collins dismissed Bhattacharya and his co-authors as “fringe” experts and called for a “take down” of the declaration, the Post reported.

According to Newsweek, Bhattacharya said on Fox News last year that Fauci and Collins “created an illusion of scientific consensus around their ideas and marginalized anyone that disagreed with them even though there wasn’t a scientific consensus.”

He added, “It’s a pattern of behavior that reflects an abuse of power by American scientific bureaucrats at the very top of our scientific bureaucracies.”

Bhattacharya faced public criticism and censorship for his views, prompting him to become a plaintiff in the anti-censorship lawsuit Murthy v. Missouri.

Bhattacharya is known for fostering scientific debate, rather than delivering authoritarian policy edicts. In September, he organized an academic conference on pandemic policy for hearing and debating diverse perspectives.

Bhattacharya said during the event’s introduction that it’s in the “middle” of dialogue that we learn “what ought to be done … because no nobody has a monopoly on the truth.”

He has called for encouraging academic freedom among NIH scientists, doing more NIH studies that repeat other studies to increase confidence in science, and term limits for NIH leaders, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Calley Means, who co-authored “Good Energy: The Surprising Connection Between Metabolism and Limitless Health,” called Bhattacharya a “bold, transformative pick.”

    Quote Calley Means

    !!!!

There is nobody better in America with the intellect, first principle thinking, and moral clarity to get the NIH back to FOUNDATIONAL science.

    Everything flows from good research.
Karl Jablonowski, Ph.D., senior research scientist at CHD, told The Defender that the financial entanglement of the U.S. government and pharmaceutical companies has created a “blindspot” that has stunted and distorted scientific research — especially research on vaccines.

“Dr. Bhattacharya is the perfect person to shine the light so bright on our willful ignorance that the world will never be the same,” Jablonowski said.

Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D., is a reporter and researcher for The Defender based in Fairfield, Iowa."

Trump Nominates Kash Patel For FBI Director

    by Tyler Durden
    Authored...
After weeks of speculation, President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he's picked Kash Patel to replace Christopher Wray as the head of the FBI.

Patel has been a longtime critic of the bureau who has called for shutting down the agency's Washington headquarters, cleaning house when it comes to top leadership, and bringing the nation's law enforcement agencies "to heel."

Kash Patel is no stranger to tackling big roles. He’s worked across defense, intelligence, and counterterrorism—now he might become CIA chief under Trump! What would a CIA led by Patel look like? pic.twitter.com/rP71IOTCsf

    — Restricted Daily (@Restricted_on_X) November 12, 2024
According to a Saturday post to Truth Social, Trump called Patel a "brilliant lawyer, investigator, and “America First” fighter who has spent his career exposing corruption, defending Justice, and protecting the American People."

"He played a pivotal role in uncovering the Russia, Russia, Russia Hoax, standing as an advocate for truth, accountability, and the Constitution," Trump continued.

Patel has been open about what kind of changes he'd pursue if given the chance. His various proposals include reducing the FBI's footprint in Washington and “dramatically” limiting its authority. He hopes to curb the power of the Justice Department's Civil Division and jettison a Pentagon office that produces classified assessments of long-term trends and risks, arguing it is just a tool of the “deep state.”

Patel has said he also intends to aggressively hunt down government officials who leak information to reporters, and change the law to make it easier to sue journalists. During an interview with Steve Bannon in December, Patel said he and others “will go out and find the conspirators not just in government but in the media.” -AP

Patel has served as both a federal prosecutor and a public defender, and filled a number of administrative roles at the tail end of Trump's first term, including on the National Security Council and in the Pentagon.

And in a sign this is a good move - in 2021 when Trump floated Patel for deputy director of the CIA or the FBI, former AG William Barr said that would happen "over my dead body."

Former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe said that no part of the FBI would be "safe" with Patel in a leadership position.

MELTDOWN: The fact that disgraced Andrew McCabe is against Kash taking over the FBI shows up that Kash is EXACTLY the correct person for the job. pic.twitter.com/YbDdj9LGXP

    — Breaking911 (@Breaking911) December 1, 2024

In response, Patel told the Washington Post: "Those calling me a danger, let’s just ask them for a proof, a piece of evidence that actually shows I’ve committed any constitutional violations or any ethical quandaries, and I’d love to hear their response to this."

Current FBI Director Christopher Wray will now either have to resign or be fired, assuming Patel makes it through Senate confirmation.

And as noted above, Patel has vowed to investigate and possibly prosecute regime-puppet journalists.

"Yes, we’re going to come after the people in the media who lied about American citizens, who helped Joe Biden rig presidential elections — we’re going to come after you," Patel said last year. "Whether it’s criminally or civilly, we’ll figure that out."

“A brilliant roadmap highlighting every corrupt actor, to ultimately return our agencies and departments to work for the American People…we will use this blueprint to help us take back the White House and remove these Gangsters from all of Government!” —Donald J. Trump

The highest levels of government have been infiltrated by an anti-democratic Deep State that can be defeated by refocusing our national security mission and relentlessly defending the truth.

A sinister cabal of corrupt law enforcement personnel, intelligence agents, and military officials at the highest levels of government plotted to overthrow a president. This is what is actually happening in the United States government.

In Government Gangsters, Kash Patel—a former top official in the White House, the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the Department of Justice—pulls back the curtain on the Deep State, revealing the major players and tactics within the permanent government bureaucracy, which has spent decades stripping power away from the American people and their elected leaders. You might not agree with 100% of Donald Trump’s appointees, but it’s clear there is a gameplan in mind.

Kash as FBI Director is more proof that eradicating the Deep State is atop the agenda. Those claiming Trump is compromised, can be swiftly disregarded moving forward.

We have Elon and Vivek deleting 80%+ of the federal government, RFK Jr. in charge of health and the Covid reckoning, Tulsi in charge of all intelligence, Homan shutting down the border and deporting illegals, and now Kash is going to gut the FBI.

Sign me up. If you can’t get excited and/or hopeful about this, then you’re just blackpilling for the sake of blackpilling. Trump and his team are, at the very least, attempting to address the corruption and destroy the Deep State.

Will it work? We shall see. But it’s clear Trump is not messing around this time.

I suspect Jared will be looking for how to save NASA massive amounts of money. The SLS rocket, which the US Senate forced NASA to build, cost $28 billion so far and has only launched one time. It costs about $3 billion to $4 billion for each launch. Boeing is the prime contractor.

I would guess that the days are numbered for the SLS rocket.

more about the Nasa appointment - I did not realize he just made the recent space walk so far from normal orbit heights

Trump Selects An Actual Astronaut To Lead NASA

    by Tyler Durden
    Wednesday, Dec 04, 2024 - 03:25 PM
President-elect Donald Trump announced Wednesday afternoon that he has selected billionaire entrepreneur and veteran SpaceX astronaut Jared Isaacman to lead the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

If confirmed, Isaacman would replace Bill Nelson, a former US senator from Florida who oversaw the space agency under the outgoing Biden administration.

    Here's Trump's statement on Isaacman's nomination:

I am delighted to nominate Jared Isaacman, an accomplished business leader, philanthropist, pilot, and astronaut, as Administrator of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Jared will drive NASA's mission of discovery and inspiration, paving the way for groundbreaking achievements in Space science, technology, and exploration.

Over the past 25 years, as the Founder and CEO of Shift4, Jared has demonstrated exceptional leadership, building a trailblazing global financial technology company. He also co-founded and served as CEO of Draken International, a defense aerospace company, for over a decade, supporting the US Department of Defense, and our Allies.

Jared's passion for Space, astronaut experience, and dedication to pushing the boundaries of exploration, unlocking the mysteries of the universe, and advancing the new Space economy, make him ideally suited to lead NASA into a bold new Era.

Congratulations to Jared, his wife Monica, and their children, Mila and Liv!

Moments after Trump posted on X, Isaacman released his statement:

    https://x.com/rookisaacman/status/18...naut-lead-nasa

    Jared Isaacman

    @rookisaacman
I am honored to receive President Trump’s
    @realDonaldTrump
nomination to serve as the next Administrator of NASA. Having been fortunate to see our amazing planet from space, I am passionate about America leading the most incredible adventure in human history.

On my last mission to space, my crew and I traveled farther from Earth than anyone in over half a century. I can confidently say this second space age has only just begun. Space holds unparalleled potential for breakthroughs in manufacturing, biotechnology, mining, and perhaps even pathways to new sources of energy. There will inevitably be a thriving space economy—one that will create opportunities for countless people to live and work in space. At NASA, we will passionately pursue these possibilities and usher in an era where humanity becomes a true spacefaring civilization.

I was born after the Moon landings; my children were born after the final space shuttle launch. With the support of President Trump, I can promise you this: We will never again lose our ability to journey to the stars and never settle for second place. We will inspire children, yours and mine, to look up and dream of what is possible. Americans will walk on the Moon and Mars and in doing so, we will make life better here on Earth.

It is the honor of a lifetime to serve in this role and to work alongside NASA’s extraordinary team to realize our shared dreams of exploration and discovery.

    Grateful to serve, Jared

Trump's decision to nominate Isaacman comes months after he and SpaceX engineer Sarah Gillis made history by performing the world's first commercial spacewalk farther from Earth than any other astronaut in over half a century.

That mission, called Polaris Dawn, was partially funded by Isaacman to test Starlink technology and space suits.

Isaacman emphasized how America will maintain its space dominance: "We will never again lose our ability to journey to the stars and never settle for second place." This comment concerns the space race between the US, China, and Russia.

The NASA Administrator manages a budget of about $25 billion and will play a pivotal role in the upcoming Artemis moon mission in the coming years.

"There will inevitably be a thriving space economy — one that will create opportunities for countless people to live and work in space," Isaacman said, adding, "At NASA, we will passionately pursue these possibilities and usher in an era where humanity becomes a true spacefaring civilization."

Elon Musk's SpaceX is why America is far ahead in the global space race.

Hungarian born Sebastian Groka has been called a conman, huckster, islamaphobic and that is by people in his own party.

Trump’s counter terror pick Sebastian Gorka is a ‘conman’ who needs FBI background check, Bolton says

When Donald Trump’s former national security adviser John Bolton appeared on CNN Friday night, he didn’t hold back when commenting on Trump’s pick for his counterterrorism director.

“Sebastian Gorka is a con man,” Bolton told host Kaitlan Collins.

“He needs a full-field FBI background investigation about his educational claims and things like that,” he added. “I think he is a perfect example of somebody who owes his position purely to Donald Trump, he doesn’t display loyalty, he displays fealty, and that’s what Trump wants.”

Boltson said Trump “doesn’t want Gorka’s opinions.”

“He wants Gorka to say, ‘Yes, sir,’ and I am fully confident that’s exactly what will happen, no matter what it is Trump says,” Bolton argued.

To hear Trump put it, Gorka has been a “tireless advocate for the America First Agenda and the MAGA Movement” since 2015, according to the president-elect’s announcement on Friday.

Gorka, who was born in the UK to Hungarian parents, is “a legal immigrant” with “more than 30 years of National Security experience,” Trump said.

What Trump neglected to mention was that Gorka was pushed out of his White House role as a strategist to the president in his first administration.

Divisive and combative as he staunchly defended Trump, Gorka was one of the main backers of the then-president’s ban on refugees and people from several Muslim-majority countries.

Gorka’s views on Islam have been a source of controversy — specifically, comments he has made about violence being an intrinsic part of the Islamic faith. His academic credentials have also been questioned, as Bolton suggested on CNN.

“Obviously he’s not the expert he claims to be — obviously,” Hungarian newspaper editor Gabor Horvath told NBC News in 2017.

“He got his master’s degree and his PhD from the Corvinus University in Hungary. The Corvinus University is not a center for national security studies, certainly not internationally recognized studies of this kind,” he added.

An op-ed inThe New York Times once referred to him as “The Islamophobic Huckster in the White House.”

Trump’s then-White House chief of staff John Kelly reportedly pulled Gorka’s security clearance when he was on vacation, making it impossible for him to do his job, HuffPost noted at the time.

This time around, Trump has suggested sidestepping the background check process usually conducted by the FBI to get his nominees and appointees into their expected roles.

Gorka has dismissed the threat of white nationalism, and instead argued that Islamist extremists constituted the biggest threat to the US.

His supposed ties to the Nazi-connected Hungarian political group Vitezi Rend have also worried some during his first short stint in the White House. The group collaborated with the Nazis during the Second World War and reformed following the end of the country’s Communist government in 1989, according to HuffPost.

Jewish outlet The Forward reported in March 2017 that Gorka was a member of the group. Gorka wore the group’s insignia at Trump’s first inaugural ball, later saying that the medals he wore belonged to his father, who was handed them as “a declaration for his resistance to [Communist] dictatorship,” Gorka told Breitbart, one of his former employers.

Before coming to the US in 2008, Gorka moved to Hungary in 1992 and worked for the country’s Ministry of Defense before becoming an adviser to Prime Minister Viktor Orban in 1998.

Gorka ran for mayor in the small town of Piliscsaba in 2006, coming in third place. Several members of the community told NBC News that he was a member of Vitezi Rend; one of the group’s leaders told CNN that the organization was never connected to the Nazis and that Gorka was not a pledged member.

If Bolton said it, I would immediately believe the opposite. Bolton is a neocon warmonger.

(I admit I did not even read the post above yet, as I have to leave soon, so he may be right here, but Bolton is toxic in the extreme, in my view).

    • SHOCKING: Trump Picks New Head of NASA, Jared Isaacman:

Trump's decision to make billionaire private astronaut Jared Isaacman next NASA administrator is going to radically change the space industry. Just another example of why we're about to see the most transformative Presidency since the founding of the country. Jared heading NASA is not going to be 'business as usual'... 2025 is going to be insane!
No need to follow anyone, only consider broadening (y)our horizon of possibilities ...
