Zelensky rejects Trump’s call for peace
The conflict “cannot simply end with a piece of paper and a few signatures,” the Ukrainian leader has said

Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky has rejected a call by US President-elect Donald Trump for an immediate truce and peace talks between Ukraine and Russia.

Following a meeting between Trump, Zelensky, and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris on Saturday, the US president-elect issued a lengthy post on his Truth Social platform saying, “there should be an immediate ceasefire and negotiations should begin” to settle the Ukraine conflict. According to Trump, Ukraine “would like to make a deal and stop the madness.”

However, Zelensky made it clear that this is not the case, in a post published on X on Sunday, in which he said the conflict “cannot simply end with a piece of paper and a few signatures.”

“A ceasefire without guarantees can be reignited at any moment... To ensure that Ukrainians no longer suffer losses, we must guarantee the reliability of peace and not turn a blind eye to occupation,” the Ukrainian leader stated.

He stressed that “in the occupied territories of Ukraine, at least several million people remain,” once again ruling out the possibility of Kiev making any territorial concessions to Moscow in exchange for peace.

”It is precisely such peace through strength that we discuss with all our partners, as well as the steps and guarantees needed for the people and the state attacked by Russia,” Zelensky said.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he could end the Ukraine conflict within a day of returning to the White House, and has criticized the outgoing US administration for spending too much on arming Kiev. According to earlier media reports, he may try to enforce a freeze of the conflict along the current battle lines, using US aid to Kiev as leverage.

Moscow has repeatedly said it considers a freeze of the conflict unacceptable. It has insisted that any settlement is only possible if Ukraine withdraws its forces from Russian territory, including the former Ukrainian regions, ensures the rights of its Russian-speaking population and adheres to neutrality.

Trump’s estimate of Russian losses wrong – Kremlin
The US president-elect earlier put the number at 600,000 soldiers and Ukrainian losses at 400,000

Incoming US President Donald Trump’s estimate of Russia’s losses in the Ukraine conflict is far off the mark and is based on Kiev’s claims, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Sunday.

Peskov was commenting on a post Trump made on his Truth Social platform earlier on Sunday, where he claimed that Moscow has lost some 600,000 servicemen in the conflict.

The day before, Trump had a meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky in Paris. While calling for an “immediate ceasefire and negotiations” between Moscow and Kiev and signaling that Ukraine was willing to “make a deal with Russia,” Trump also gave an estimate of Kiev’s losses, which he claimed stood at some 400,000 troops “and many more civilians.”

“As for the figures given about losses on both sides, it is obvious that they are presented in the Ukrainian interpretation and reflect the official position of Ukraine. The real figures of losses are completely different,” Peskov said in a press statement. He stressed that “Ukrainian losses are many times higher than the losses on the Russian side.”

The spokesman also warned that prolonging the conflict, which the US and other Western states are doing by aiding the Kiev regime, could “lead to the complete exhaustion of the Ukrainian army.”

Russia does not make public its losses in the conflict. President Vladimir Putin explained back in June that it is simply not done “as a rule,” while those who do announce such figures tend to intentionally “distort” the information. He noted at the time, however, that the ratio of losses on the two sides is approximately one Russian loss for every five Ukrainian losses.

In late November, The Economist reported that up to half a million Ukrainian troops had been killed or wounded in the conflict, based on leaked intelligence reports, official statements, and open sources.

On Sunday, Zelensky claimed in a post on X that since the escalation of the conflict in 2022, only some 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers had been killed. Back in February of this year, he insisted that Kiev had lost only 31,000 troops. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev’s army has lost 39,260 servicemen over the past four months alone.

In his statement, Peskov reiterated that Moscow is open to negotiations and is eager to end the conflict, but stressed that it could only be done if Russia’s conditions for a settlement were met. Moscow has repeatedly insisted that any settlement is only possible if Ukraine withdraws its forces from Russian territory, including the former Ukrainian regions, ensures the rights of its Russian-speaking population, and adheres to neutrality.

If Ukraine had lost so few men, there would never have been this terrible hunt for new recruits and Blinken would not be pushing Zel desperately to lower the age of enlistment to 18.
Some sources have estimated the losses at nearly one million.
We may never know the exact number but it is certain that it is so high that it is better to keep it hidden to continue the influx of money.

Russian forces are only 10.5km from the Donetsk front to the Dnepr border. The Dnepr region border is also Ukraine's last complete line of defense. As visible on the map, there are almost no fortifications west of the border.

US allocates $20 bln loan to Ukraine on account of revenues from Russian assets

The loan is provided within the framework of the initiative of the Group of Seven on provision of the $50 bln loan to Kiev, the Treasury said

WASHINGTON, December 10. /TASS/. The US Department of the Treasury announces the disbursement of the $20 bln loan to Ukraine with the repayment from proceeds earned from Russian assets frozen in the West.

The loan is provided within the framework of the initiative of the Group of Seven on provision of the $50 bln loan to Kiev, the Treasury said. "These funds - paid for by the windfall proceeds earned from Russia’s own immobilized assets - will provide Ukraine a critical infusion of support," Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen said.

Washington is going to toughen sanctions against Russia, she added.

Russian sleeper agents open up about secret trip to 2018 World Cup

The married couple, Artyom Dultsev and Anna Dultseva, returned home as a result of an exchange

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Artyom Dultsev and Anna Dultseva, sleeper agents who were returned to Russia in a prisoner exchange, say they made a secret visit to their motherland in 2018 during the FIFA World Cup.

"We came to Russia a couple of times, but this was not easy to organize, as you can imagine," Artyom Dultsev said in an interview with Razvedchik magazine. "In the summer of 2018, when Russia was holding the FIFA World Cup. We seized the opportunity and came [to Russia] as foreigners. We attended a couple of games, including one in Anna’s home city, Nizhny Novgorod, where we watched Argentina play Croatia."

He added that at the time the city was full of Argentinian football fans, and he and his wife sat among them during the game. "Very unusual, I must say. We were home but alien [to everyone present]," the agent shared. "By the way, Argentina lost that game, which made Sofia (Dultsevs’ daughter) sad; she even cried a bit."

According to Anna Dultseva, the couple also used this opportunity to set up a meeting with their relatives. "It was at my parents’ country house; both sides of the family came. Naturally, the children didn’t understand a thing: that we were in the countryside and that the people in front of them were their grandparents. They were still too young and didn’t ask any questions," she explained. "Still, we decided that a trip to Nizhny would be important for them. They will remember it and it will help them adapt when they return."

The married couple, Artyom Dultsev and Anna Dultseva, returned home as a result of an exchange. The family arrived in Slovenia on Argentine passports in 2017. There they established an IT company and an online gallery. After the start of the special operation in Ukraine in 2022, intelligence agents from an unspecified country recommended that Ljubljana pay close attention to the family. The couple was arrested and their two children, a boy and a girl, were placed in foster care. Investigators argued that they were deep cover agents of Russia’s foreign intelligence service. The couple pleaded guilty. On July 31, 2024, a court in Ljubljana sentenced them to one year and seven months in prison for espionage. They had already spent roughly this period of time in custody.

Oreshnik missiles to eliminate need for nuclear weapons, Putin says

This is why, in President Putin’s words, Russia behaves with caution and even restraint in all areas

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Once there is a sufficient amount of Oreshnik missiles, Russia will no longer consider the use of nuclear weapons, President Vladimir Putin said, addressing a meeting of the Council on Civil Society and Human Rights.

"We are improving our nuclear doctrine, not tightening it. Basically, now, we need to improve the Oreshnik missile, not the nuclear doctrine," Putin noted.

"If we take a closer look, a sufficient amount of these cutting-edge weapon systems will actually eliminate the need for the use of nuclear weapons," he explained.

This is why, in Putin’s words, Russia behaves with caution and even restraint in all areas. "However, the government shows its will where it is necessary, as well as the country’s people who live here, who want their children to live here, who see Russia as their motherland and are ready to do everything to make it stronger," Putin concluded.

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. The Kiev regime is using NATO's arsenal, including missiles, to carry out terrorist attacks on Russia, Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov, who also chairs Russia’s National Anti-terrorism Committee, said.

"This year, the number of terrorist attempts to endanger the security of our country has increased significantly. This is mainly due to the unprecedented flow of resources organized by the West to the Kiev regime, which is using the NATO-supplied arsenal, including missile systems, to carry out terrorist attacks deep into Russia. The enemy, supported by Western special services, has unleashed aggressive anti-Russian propaganda, intensified recruitment of perpetrators of sabotage and terrorist attacks, and does not shy away from deception, threats, and blackmail," the National Anti-terrorism Committee quoted him as saying.

At the same time, international terrorist organizations are forming terrorist cells among migrant workers and are trying to involve young people, including schoolchildren and students, in terrorist activities.

The National Anti-terrorism Committee also said that it has taken additional measures to ensure the security of the facilities engaged in providing for the special military operation or new regions of Russia. "The meeting participants pointed to the importance of ensuring cohesion in the use of forces and means engaged in the fight against terrorism in the regions bordering Ukraine, as well as potential areas of action of hostile subversive groups," the agency added.

Russia comes close to achieving special military operation's goals — intel chief

"Russia holds the initiative in all areas, while the Ukrainian armed forces are on the verge of collapse and the Zelensky regime has lost its legitimacy, along with the ability to make agreements," Sergey Naryshkin pointed out

MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Moscow is reportedly nearing the objectives of its special military operation, while the Ukrainian army faces potential collapse, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin stated.

"The situation on the front lines is not in Kiev’s favor. We hold the initiative in all areas and are close to achieving our goals, while the Ukrainian armed forces are on the verge of collapse and the Zelensky regime has lost its legitimacy, along with the ability to make agreements," he pointed out in an interview with Razvedchik (or Scout) magazine.

According to Naryshkin, all attempts to create instability in Russia have failed. "The people understand that we are not fighting against the Kiev junta but against the collective West, and our freedom and sovereignty are at stake in this confrontation," the SVR chief noted.

"The West’s strategic goal in the Ukraine conflict was perfectly clear — to impose a war of attrition on us in order to divide Russian society and create conditions for a ‘color revolution.’ That said, they will fight ‘until the last Ukrainian,’ and once there are no Ukrainians left, the Baltic nations, the Eastern Europeans, and later, the Germans will be forced to join the fight against ‘the scary Russian bear,’" Naryshkin noted. "The globalist powers already have the technologies they need to brainwash common people and put pressure on local elites," he added.

The SVR director emphasized that a further escalation of tensions "will not only fail to deplete Russia’s resources, which is what Washington and London are aiming for, but will bring the West closer to its own defeat." "Despite sanctions and the theft of our sovereign assets, the Russian economy is growing, and import substitution efforts continue at a high pace, particularly in technology sectors," he observed. "New logistics routes are emerging, and our economic ties with non-Western countries, primarily in Greater Eurasia, are strengthening," Naryshkin concluded.

Russia open to negotiating Ukraine settlement, unlike Kiev regime — senior diplomat

"However, we see that the West has not yet even bothered to tell the Kiev regime to lift its self-ban on talks with Russian leaders," Mikhail Galuzin stressed
MOSCOW, December 9. /TASS/. Russia is ready to talk about settling the Ukraine conflict, but sees nothing but stonewalling from the Kiev regime and its Western handlers, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin said.

Answering a TASS question, the senior Russian diplomat noted that any future talks on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis should be based on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s previously laid out proposals, and the West, along with the Kiev regime, must demonstrate their readiness to negotiate.

"However, we see that the West has not yet even bothered to tell the Kiev regime to lift its self-ban on talks with Russian leaders. We have never shut the door on talks and remain open to them. It is the Kiev regime and its Western puppeteers who are obstructing dialogue," he stressed.

At a meeting with senior officials from Russia’s foreign ministry in mid-June, Russian President Vladimir Putin set forth the conditions for resolving the situation in Ukraine, which included Ukraine withdrawing troops from Donbass and Novorossia and abandoning plans to join NATO. In addition, Moscow insists that all Western sanctions be lifted and Ukraine’s non-bloc and non-nuclear status be guaranteed.

However, Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on December 4 that there are no grounds for talks with Ukraine as of yet.

Many US partners asking Russia `not to stop halfway’ on Ukraine — SVR chief

The global prestige of Washington is steadily declining, Sergey Naryshkin emphasized
MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Washington’s global prestige has been faltering, and many US partners in Asia, Africa, and Latin America are urging Russia "not to stop halfway" in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergey Naryshkin said.

"The global prestige of Washington is steadily declining. Even the Americans’ closest allies are turning away from the White House," the SVR chief told Razvedchik magazine in an interview. "You wouldn’t believe how many US partners from Asian, African, and Latin American countries have urged us in direct contacts not to stop halfway in the Ukraine conflict," he added.

The fact that the West "is dismantling its own ‘sacred cows,’" such as the inviolability of private property, cannot be overlooked, Naryshkin stressed. "It is clear to everybody that any country can find itself in Russia’s place," he concluded.

US is ready to equip and train 18-year-old Ukrainian recruits

If Kiev lowers the draft age to 18, the US and its allies will be ready to equip and train new recruits, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Monday.

"Ultimately, the decisions about the composition of its military force, those are decisions that the Ukrainians have to make for themselves. What we have made clear is that if they produce additional forces to join the fight, we and our allies will be ready to equip those forces and train those forces to enter battle," Miller told reporters.
