Thumbs up Re: Linux: an alternative to Windows 10

    • Did Linux Just Get 40x Faster?

In this video I discuss the recent phoronix article about Intel spotting a 3888.9% performance improvement in linux, and the patch that resulted in a performance hit and the subsequent patch that fixed the regression.

Yes - much faster - but only if your program was making lots of Transparent HugePages (THP) aligned (but without specified size limit) memory allocations, resulting in very poor Translation Lookaside Buffer (TLB) cache hit ratios.

The rest of us, myself included, never noticed.

    • Microsoft Should Be Really Worried Now...:

Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! Linux is on it's way to reaching even closer to being a real alternative for gamers and with the gap closing it's time to learn how you can jump in for yourself in the easiest way possible.
    • Some YouTube comments:
"People are moving to Linux not thanks to Linux marketing, but because Microsoft is pushing them away.

The elitists will try to shame you for using the installer. Please ignore them. You don't need to have Linux completely figured out before you even try it. You can learn as you go. When you come across a problem, then look it up. Personally, I have a separate drive for Arch. When you're ready to make the full switch, it'll be easier

When Win 10 ends, I'm done with it. I already tried a test run of Mint on my box and it works fine. I'm tired of MS telling me what I'm going to do with my computer".
