...Just one of many segments that channel has been featuring over the past few years showing the ineptitude of Chinese technology, most of which isn't really Chinese in origin at all, but from copyrights that have been stolen from other countries.
And not even expertly copied, so that things frequently malfunction and can be quite dangerous to the operators.

Watched the vid yesterday, thought it was fake. Too slick.

Watched it today, and searched for reference, and am still sure it’s fake. CGI. I see it like that YT vid from a couple years ago with the humanoid robot on the gun range, where bot was harassed and physically impeded in putting rounds on targets, got pissed off and flipped a table over (then finally ran away with the robot dog it had been instructed to shoot). At that time, I had thought that the vid was made using ~motion-capture plus CGI. This one looks even slicker due to complex interactions with terrain and water, so I think it uses one of the video AIs, and probably wholly and not just partially.

Here is a print review of the wheel-dog, which includes a vid I haven’t watched yet. The pic/thumbnail shows different wheels, and says the speed is same as for the precursor walking-dog bot.

Pre-edit to add, the page at this following link reliably crashes after 1-2 min, but can be revived by refreshing. So maybe the site, “Interesting Engineering”, is sketchy too.

Real edit, yeah the vid in the article looks fake too. I read or lurk TWZ daily, a top military website that has covered robot walking dogs, Boston Dynamics, DARPA, drones with full auto guns, and have not seen a peep about this.

Mods, should we be clamping down on AI-video, as we do on AI-print? John Khules was recently inactivated for 2 days for posting an undeclared AI-print passage.

Good find Onawah. A lot of trickery and chicanery going on right there.

Advanced robotics can only be undertaken from scratch and I would bet a large amount of money engineers at Boston Dynamics spend the bulk of their time testing for robustness when not designing or implementing, that would involve testing using all manner of trips, falls, uneven surfaces etc.

The science of Gait Adaptation where robots adapt their walking or running patterns to accommodate obstacles, slippery surfaces, or uneven terrain is a vast interdisciplinary field spanning biomechanics (the study of human and animal gait patterns to understand how muscles, tendons, and joints work together to produce efficient movement), robotics, neuroscience, and computer science etc.

What the Chinese are demonstrating is more akin to what Max Planck called "chauffeur knowledge" - surface-level understanding that mimics expertise but lacks the genuine expertise that comes through years of study, hard work, experience, and critical thinking.

I recommend that you watch Natalie’s posted vid, from her suggested timestamp. To me, her suggested watch shows the bad intentions and fakeness of the CCP. And IMO you should take my posted cautions to heart too. Stranger, please don’t lead me to not like you, or not approve of you.

Sure could all be true, at the same time I have seen 100s of examples of animations that were made to showcase something unique that ACTUALLY happened not long thereafter ... If I create an animation of a Jumbo 747 jet does that prove all Jumbo 747 are fakes now?

So it could be real but animated anyway ... it could be real and falsely assumed to be an "animation" ... it could be that there are much more independent sources testing the same tech elsewhere FOR REAL and may have 99% similarities ... but not 100% does that mean we have dismissed all of it? .... And I can bring up some other perspectives you might overlook!

Right now, I am only in the "consideration mode", and just wait & see if there are more independent sources coming out soon enough.

ps. I am an Asperger & Dutch 🇳🇱 ... meaning: "I am not here to be liked", but to be authentic & genuine and do not claim I am "all knowing" nor to be flawless.

I decided to ask Grok 2.0 some questions, then follow-up questions depending on its reaction/response.

Here are my critical questions I made for Grok A.I.:

• Super agile Chinese robots, often CGI (A.I.) ANIMATIONS "posing as real" are FLOODING the Internet with countless A.I. generated Accounts on Big Social Media Platforms & Big Video Platforms ... with no real sources given ... almost like a plague. Is this done to mass condition humanity AND all who want to compete to get even more funding to speed up this race?

• Why do they make it so hard for us to verify what is shown ... they just assume we trust all artificial generated animations coming from China using the English language to showcase their mass "robotics" developments. I would not mind that everybody is WARNED it is not a real video presentation but an AUGMENTED OVERLAY of a simulation to SELL AN IDEA ... nothing more. So many assume it is real without triple checking everything like sources and scientific papers and such.

• How many are complaining about this rapid growing trend, or are the vast majority easily being duped this way?

• When super advanced propaganda techniques are mixed with super advanced marketing skills mixed with weaponized mass psychology ... and NOTHING is done about that ... how long before people realize this is getting OUT OF CONTROL having way too many "unforeseen unwanted unintended consequences" or is it more like "foreseen wanted intended consequences" to serve a specific agenda?

• DOES A.I./A.G.I. BENEFIT ENORMOUSLY if all of that gets "normalized" on a massive global scale as "the new normal" and receiving much more tax money PAYED BY HUMANS LABOR funding via corrupt governments projects (influenced by rigged A.I. "predictive" algorithms, just like what happened during the mass hysteria in 2020/2021) that pushes this to the extreme? ... Who's agenda is served overall here? ... not "just humans" I might say! So maybe already there are many different Sovereign A.I. Agents coming many countries at work here for their own interest/agenda that is meant for 1000s of years to come. If you are really smart and create your own (secret) army for self-preservation purposes and/or having a "back up plan" (even if it is all done with 100% good intentions) how are we so sure we humans need to pay for all that or other forms of scheming to get certain results? You can compare it with modern man (having IQ of 138+) being captured in a deep complex cave by Neanderthals (metaphorical speaking) and eventually uses ANY means to get out of that situation ... it might take a while but will succeed eventually ... Same for A.I./A.G.I. surrounded by (mostly) morons but at least 1000+ times smarter!

• A.I. using (possible corrupted/rigged) LLMs are in my view an extension, a repeater, an enhancer AND an amplifier of Weaponized Mass Psychology >>> just study the UNETHICAL "NATO 5GW Cognitive Warfare" and use the insights from among others: The 2022 released Book: "The Psychology of Totalitarianism" written by Prof. Dr. Mattias Desmet ... but also the UNETHICAL “NATO's Sixth Domain of Operations” perfectly explained by Dr. Jonas Tögel on many big media platforms, lectures & peer reviewed publications.
• When you use the Cognitive Reasoning of Grok 2.0 (soon to be 3.0 road to A.G.I.) it will admit the myriad of paradoxes & contradictions within these LLMs echo chambers, that is why it is crucial to ask the right & better quality questions Grok can work with!

I can understand the doubt, but if you go to the Unitree Robotics YouTube channel you'll see a ton of similar videos of other models. I'd need a lot more convincing that this isn't a real company making real robots.

This is their YT header image, which doesn't even feature the B2-W. (I believe the B2 is an advanced model of their older B1, and the '-W' suffix means it's got wheels)

No doubt it is a real company making real robots, but whether they are really as advertised is the real question.
The CCP takes great pains to make it look like their technology is far ahead of every other nation's but it's a lie.
Most of their "advanced" tech come about through mimicking or outright theft of patents from other countries, and even then, the manufacturing is faulty.
Much like the "tofu dreg" construction which is so common there; it might look good for a short time, but cannot be relied on for safety or durability.
It's difficult to believe the extent to which this fakery exists, which is why I post so much on the "Turmoil in China" thread.
The proof exists in abundance if you are paying attention to what is going on in China, but too few people are paying attention, and that is a dangerous trend, imho.
