The largest lithium deposit in Ukraine is now under Russian control! What will Black Rock and Kiev do now?

The Shevchenko lithium deposit, the largest in Ukraine and one of the richest in Europe, has come under the control of Russian forces, http://RG.ru reports.

The European Commission's leading economics and industry specialist Arnold Reningard earlier said that the Shevchenko Field's reserves will be sufficient to cover all the EU countries' needs by 2050. Based on this assessment, he called for the deposits not to come under the control of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

The Shevchenko lithium deposit was discovered in 1982 by the Novomoskovsk exploration and research enterprise Yuzhukrgeologiia. It covers an area of 0,8 km², the thickness of the overlying sedimentary rocks is estimated at 70-130 metres, and the volume of the deposit is estimated at a depth of up to 500 metres.

Full interview with Andrey Gregoriev - for reference, see this post here #18286: with thanks to Simplicius for the text summary

    ---

    Description:
⚡️🇷🇺New full length interview from Andrey Gregoriev callsign "Tuta", with even more crazy details, particularly about the second counterattack assault which came after Andrey had already eliminated the first Ukrainian in the now-famous death match:

It's a total hell that Andrei went through. There's no movie like this. It turns out that the hand-to-hand fight was only the beginning of a heavy battle. Andrei thought he had killed the AFU soldier with a line from his house. He went out and came face to face with him. He was scared - they fell to the ground, fighting to the death. At the very beginning of the melee he cut his hand with his own knife. But he defeated the enemy, silently and as fast as he could - the territory was under the AFU, there would be no help for sure - the Russian units were 6 km away. He said goodbye to the dying Khokhl, threw him a grenade and then finished him off with a shot: “he was mumbling something”.

He went down to the basement of the house - examined his wounds, rewrapped himself. The vest was torn at the straps, the helmet didn't fit over his head - his right ear was swollen. I got up and took the radio from the AFU soldier. On the other side they were preparing a counterattack of 6 storm troopers. The enemy knew and saw the fight - they even argued on the air whether he was a Tuvinian or a Yakut.

Six of them came, actively started pelting him with grenades, calling whether he was alive or not. Andrei was silent. The AFU men argued who would go to check him - one of them went, ours put him down at once. Again grenades and smoke grenades to smoke him out. Andrei soaked his hat in water and breathed like that. Then they argued again and sent one to check him - he put him in 300, he shouted for help. They ran out of grenades and decided to burn Andrei - they threw a “lighter” and then decided that he was dead. It was already evening around 22 hours. At 7 a.m. another group of the enemy came...

Freedom?! Freedom from what exactly? BlackRock? Bandera scum? Current acting contract? Having to continue speaking Ukrainian, badly? Cocaine? The guy's a circle jerk: give me a break....

I can't put myself through it: he's had way way too much coverage, by design of course. He's also got one of those faces you want to throw a custard pie at. And he's such an appalling grifter, and the highest paid actor in the world. Judging by the comments this is a multi-tomato effort. Anyone else sick of the sight of this p***k?

Maria Zakharova can save us all a lot of bother though. By the way Maria, and Olga, if you're watching: Я тебя люблю

    Via Olga Bazova on X:

    Text:
Maria Zakharova on Zelensky's interview with Lex Fridman:

"The latest interview of the drug addict lasted 3 hours. He doesn't understand anything at all. Some kind of hellish mixture of neo-Nazism and terrorism with drug delirium. And the fact that he, in his words, offered Trump "other people's money in exchange for weapons" testifies to Zelensky's deep-rooted corrupt ties with the Anglo-Saxons, which Biden hooked the Kiev regime on: steal and kill, and then steal again - a bloody scheme mastered since the time of Burisma."

Cracking visual here. Scarface fan, obviously

🇺🇦 This is a photo of a Ukrainian soldier who lost his life in an intense knife fight with a Russian soldier from Yakutia.

Most people who watched that video of the fight praised his courage and bravery during the fight and many were saddened by the tragic outcome and his suffering. Many pointed out the tragic nature of this conflict.

But not by his own people, the Ukrainians for whom he fought. They instead posted this photo with the comment, “A tactical degenerate who embarrassed the AFU and got shrapnel in his eyes.” They even wished he would rot in hell, with curses and insults.

Remember, when the 2300 Azovites surrendered, they were called “heroes”.

Ukrainian soldiers, is this what you're fighting for?

📍 One day after the Ukrainian counterattack north of Sudzha, geolocated videos show that the Ukrainian ground forces were in Berdin. 📹 According to Russian sources, the two villages that were attacked are once again completely under Russian control. 🚩 The Ukrainians are said to have attacked in three waves, and the Russians expect further attacks due to the high concentration of Ukrainian soldiers in Sudzha. ⚔️
📈 In the direction of Velyka Novosilka, the Russians are said to have captured an important hill west of Neskuchne and Vremivka, which allows control of the route between the two villages.
🔥 In the direction of Pokrovsk, the Russian ground forces are said to have carried out further attacks on the village of Zvirove, which is adjacent to Pokrovsk, according to Russian sources.
📷 Further geolocated images from Torezk show that the Ukrainians only control a few houses in the village. 🏚 The town is about to fall and will be one of the Russians' greatest successes in 2025. 🛡

‼️🇷🇺☦️ “Where God is, there is victory” – Patriarch’s Message Before Christmas Liturgy

▪️ At the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Christmas service is underway. In his address, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ urged the faithful to pray for an end to hostilities between the peoples of the united Holy Rus’.

▪️ “May the Lord help us never lose hope in God and always remember that where God is, there is strength and victory.”

▪️ He emphasized that by keeping faith in the Lord and our Savior, we will experience victories in every aspect of life—personal, familial, societal, and national.

▪️ “Let us pray for peace, but also for justice, because peace without justice is unstable and sometimes even dangerous.”

▪️ Finally, he called on the faithful to ask the Lord to protect us, our loved ones, and our homeland from all misfortunes.

🇫🇷🇺🇦 When in France, Do as the French: Ukrainian Soldiers Desert During Training on French Soil

▪️ “There have been a certain number of desertion cases. They were staying in French barracks and had the right to go outside,” a ministry official told RTE.

▪️ Ukrainian soldiers undergoing training in France were subject to a disciplinary regime “established by Ukrainian command.”
“In France, desertion is not a criminal offense. If someone deserted, the French prosecutor had no authority to arrest that person,” the official stated.

▪️ Earlier, journalist Yuriy Butusov reported that 50 Ukrainian soldiers from the “Anne of Kyiv” brigade had deserted while in France. Additionally, after the brigade returned to Ukraine, 1,700 personnel left for the reserve forces (SZZ).

Volodymyr Zelenskyy: Ukraine, War, Peace, Putin, Trump, NATO, and Freedom | Lex Fridman Podcast #456
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u321m25rKXc
    (3:06:39)

I haven't watched this yet. Comments under the video on You Tube seem to suggest that Lex Fridman's questions are somewhat naive, but his interview style is on the softer side.
I immediately went to the comments. I've not listened to the interview yet either, but I'd be astonished if anything Zelensky says at all is (a) accurate or (b) believable. And at first sight, many of the commenters seem as naive as (apparently) Friedman is accused by some of being.
I little more on this, It appears that if you select the audio track as 'English (United States)', which is the default, the whole thing has been AI-dubbed (and sanitized! ).

But if you choose 'English (United Kingdom)', you get the real thing, which is rather different, with a lot of bad language — which would NOT go down well culturally in either Russia or Ukraine.

And here's Alexander Mercouris commenting rather sagely and wryly about the whole thing, noting how (a) manipulative Zelensky is, and (b) how naive and soft on his questions Friedman was. That interesting and valuable segment starts at 55:52, for about 10 minutes, and (for students of Zelensky, if there are any here!) is well worth the time.
