    Default Poetic/artful expressions of insight

    Dear friends...

    I have been reflecting on my life last year and i've entered the deepest and darkest corners of my body and soul so i may become whole again.. i do this every other year or so..
    This time, almost at the end of my journey i got inspired and wrote the poem you can read below this statement to express my journey in a way that cannot be thought about.. it can only be felt and contemplated..

    as i entered the last words, i burst out in to tears and shared this with a close friend of mine..
    it feels right to share this, as some of you and maybe all will be touched by what is written..
    again, this poem and insight confirms to me how important it is to know when to help
    and when to leave matters alone, to know why and how we want to be seen and accepted so badly..
    To accept one self completely, everything and all.. light and dark
    to know when to retreat and to know when to fight. the choice between fear and love is ours and ours alone...
    and that's really ok.. REALLY!

    I've gone through many layers of my being which led me to write this poem about the dark night of the soul.... from lust to love, fear & hate, war & peace ****ed up images, beautiful sceneries, demons & angels.. and you know what?
    it wasn't that scary.. it's just the anticipation that causes the fear, the experience itself can be quite fun, if you let it...

    haha... we all have a "bad" boy or girl inside us.. enjoy it and have fun!, just be sure not to hurt others...

    anyway.. i've reached somewhat of a conclusion about myself and others...
    we are all sovereign beings, i am a sovereign being and hold responsibility only to myself...
    You are not responsible for my well being, i am.. just like you are responsible for yours ;-)
    Thank you all for providing me the play field to experience myself and realize this..
    I release the past and all labels others have put upon me, I am that I am.
    I re-claim my space as my own and will share it in the moments i wish with the ones who can respect it and whom i can respect being there..

    So.....Here is the poem..
    love and light.. jendayi/robert/blabla/no name/ whatever!!! It's all labels given to me, or thought up by someone else so... i really don't care any more.. love doesn't need a label, however, feel free to use them.. I do!
    if my poem inspires you to share some of your own poetic or artfull expressions.. please do!!!!
    namaste...

    Stillness.... by jendayi

    As i sit here, I see my reflection in the liquid of life...
    Waves entering the pool of my being.
    Distorting what i see.

    As i sit here, I look upon the lessons, hidden within my strife.
    Ripples of doubt in the pond of my way...
    Infecting what i feel.

    As i lay me down on the banks of my river,
    I hear the voices of the stream...
    Calling me to light....
    As i turn around on my back when it shivers,
    I say....
    "Be still, friends of my dream, just leave me for the night"

    I rush through my anger, my tears, my despair...
    For the lust of this place answers no prayer.
    I look at my pride, my sorrow, my fear...
    And suddenly...
    It is all so simple and clear

    As i stand here,
    I see my resurrection in the mirror of all...
    Wisdom touches the heart of my being...
    Enhancing what i see.

    As i stand here,
    I look upon the sparkles, just as i recall...
    Shimmers of love in the night of my day...
    Knowing what i feel.

    I see within me, a light ever shining.
    A candle so bright, it burns down my plight.
    I welcome my shadow, standing beside me.
    A power so strong, it survives through the night.

    My life is my own.
    I travel through time...
    Entering spheres of solitude and stepping outside to play...

    My mind is my own.
    I venture inside...
    Entering spaces of gratitude and spending a moment to pray...

    My fear is my own.
    I travel through hell..
    Passing scenes so desolate, created by my pain...

    My body is my own.
    I know it too well..
    Enjoying life so elegant, dancing in the rain...

    My heart is my own.
    Free to caress...
    Living dreams so passionate,
    created by my love..

    My soul is my own.
    Here to express...
    Make known the unknown..
    from vulture to dove

    My darkness is my own..
    it shares it's life with me.
    Blending with the night,
    I move in total hiding...

    My brightness is my own..
    as all ways it shall be.
    Spreading wings of light...
    the stillness of the gliding...

    As i sit here,
    i see my reflection in the liquid of life...
    waves moving through the pool of my being...
    adding to what i see..

    As i sit here,
    i look upon the essence and the reason of my strife...
    Ripples of insight in the pond of my way...
    To answer what i feel..

    As I rest and replenish, at the banks of my river,
    I hear the voice of my dream, sharing it's light.
    Now I lay on my side, for I no longer shiver...
    I say.....
    "Don't worry my friend, I'm at peace with the night"

    Beautiful that jendayi. Hears one of mine

    Dear inspiration.

    Hark a known voice calls out to me
    Dark not as night but blue as the sea
    With fathoms of wisdom turned on each phrase
    My eyes burn like fire I've met with her gaze
    Straight in through the window and into my heart
    She fills me with passion yes that is her art
    Kissed by her lips gone is anticipation
    My love has come home
    Sweet dear inspiration.

    I wrote that poem when I was in a bad place. The next day everything changed for the better

    Lightbulb Re: Poetic/artful expressions of insight

    A night
    A flame
    Crashes
    On my soul
    And burn it
    All moved
    The dragonfly
    Who on the wall
    After the event
    So penetrating
    While walking
    In the wind
    Then still
    On a twig
    Thinks
    It's midnight
    Not a sound
    And suddenly
    Without waiting
    It came so quickly
    Yet it's life
    The sun
    Is awakening
    The flame goes out
    Without seeing the morning
    And the dragonfly
    She disappeared
    At daybreak
    Forever
    (my beginnings in poetry I no longer count….)

    To All Of This
    to all of this . sleep ∙ sleep ∙ who sails my mystic waters deep ∙ whose fickle keel by chaos held divides a chartless sea ∙ who heals at will and makes no vow ∙ who ever fails to calm my storms and will not fall to fail me now – from east and west, above ∙ below, shoot cryptic founts of passion bright ∙ plaited chainmail runes of light that hold me now and bind me tight – bursting from within, boiling streams of waking dreams ∙ from bullwhip’s hiss to sweetest kiss ∙ from agony to erotic bliss, the geysers of wild archetypes, that anchor me to all of this.

    Song Of The Rain

    I am dotted silver threads dropped from heaven
    By the gods. Nature then takes me, to adorn
    Her fields and valleys.

    I am beautiful pearls, plucked from the
    Crown of Ishtar by the daughter of Dawn
    To embellish the gardens.

    When I cry the hills laugh;
    When I humble myself the flowers rejoice;
    When I bow, all things are elated.

    The field and the cloud are lovers
    And between them I am a messenger of mercy.
    I quench the thirst of one;
    I cure the ailment of the other.

    The voice of thunder declares my arrival;
    The rainbow announces my departure.
    I am like earthly life, which begins at
    The feet of the mad elements and ends
    Under the upraised wings of death.

    I emerge from the heard of the sea
    Soar with the breeze. When I see a field in
    Need, I descend and embrace the flowers and
    The trees in a million little ways.

    I touch gently at the windows with my
    Soft fingers, and my announcement is a
    Welcome song. All can hear, but only
    The sensitive can understand.

    The heat in the air gives birth to me,
    But in turn I kill it,
    As woman overcomes man with
    The strength she takes from him.

    I am the sigh of the sea;
    The laughter of the field;
    The tears of heaven.

    So with love -
    Sighs from the deep sea of affection;
    Laughter from the colourful field of the spirit;
    Tears from the endless heaven of memories.
    - Khalil Gibran
    "Is there an idea more radical in the history of the human race than turning your children over to total strangers whom you know nothing about, and having those strangers work on your child's mind, out of your sight, for a period of twelve years?" John Taylor Gatto

    Not all those who wander are lost;
    The old that is strong does not wither,
    Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
    From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

    May I join the poetry party?

    I am moved to share this poem as a result of a symbolic crystal staircase showing up in my shamanic work.

    Mother to Son
    BY Langston Hughes

    Well, son, I’ll tell you:
    Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.
    It’s had tacks in it,
    And splinters,
    And boards torn up,
    And places with no carpet on the floor—
    Bare.

    But all the time
    I’se been a-climbin’ on,
    And reachin’ landin’s,
    And turnin’ corners,
    And sometimes goin’ in the dark
    Where there ain’t been no light.

    So boy, don’t you turn back.
    Don’t you set down on the steps
    ’Cause you finds it’s kinder hard.
    Don’t you fall now—
    For I’se still goin’, honey,
    I’se still climbin’,
    And life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.

    "Ring out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
    The flying cloud, the frosty light:
    The year is dying in the night;
    Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
    Ring out the old, ring in the new,
    Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
    The year is going, let him go;
    Ring out the false, ring in the true.
    Ring out the grief that saps the mind,
    For those that here we see no more;
    Ring out the feud of rich and poor,
    Ring in redress to all mankind.
    Ring out a slowly dying cause,
    And ancient forms of party strife;
    Ring in the nobler modes of life,
    With sweeter manners, purer laws.
    Ring out the want, the care, the sin,
    The faithless coldness of the times;
    Ring out, ring out my mournful rhymes,
    But ring the fuller minstrel in.
    Ring out false pride in place and blood,
    The civic slander and the spite;
    Ring in the love of truth and right,
    Ring in the common love of good.
    Ring out old shapes of foul disease;
    Ring out the narrowing lust of gold;
    Ring out the thousand wars of old,
    Ring in the thousand years of peace."
    ―Alfred, Lord Tennyson

    Pity the nation...
    BY LAWRANCE. FERLINGHETTI (2007)
    Pity the nation whose people are sheep
    And whose shepherds mislead them
    Pity the nation whose leaders are liars
    Whose sages are silenced
    and whose bigots haunt the airways
    Pity the nation that raises not its voice
    but aims to rule the world
    by force and by torture
    And knows
    No other language but its own
    Pity the nation whose breath is money
    and sleeps the sleep of the too well fed
    Pity the nation Oh pity the people of my country
    My country, tears of thee
    Sweet land of liberty!
