This drone photo of a block of flats in Palisades reminds me very much of Lahaina; no building is left standing, but the trees remain intact. For some reason the heat doesn't seem to transfer directly to organic materials.

Lets see if the cars also show molten engine blocks.



Here is a screenshot from the livestream; the house on the left suddenly started to burn in the middle of the livestream. Note the distance to the fire on the right. The unusual thing about the fires is that they spread from house to house without often having a real connection; the sparks jump several hundred meters.

Why does that photo make me think of the SF fire of 1906 (and 1851, not to mention all the other "great" fires of that era in nearly every large city of America):

Are these fires geo-engineered? Some think so.

Why no water, is it pre-planned? They have been dumping water for years.

Lay of the land makes a difference, for instance when beautiful valleys are populated, but the valley goes NE uphill. These Santa Ana regular NE winds, in this land of scrub vegetation that actually needs to be regularly burnt, are a reminder to notice nature IMO.

There is a change at about 16:00, and another at about 22:30, that are also interesting. Am still watching, at 26:+ /1:02:29, paused to write this.

The most destructive wildfire in Los Angeles history has burned over 17,000 acres with zero containment, scorching the seaside area between Malibu and Santa Monica. The inferno has destroyed at least 2,000 building structures (damage estimates in the tens of billions of dollars) and forced 130,000 residents to evacuate their homes. Meanwhile, a new fire ignited overnight in the Hollywood Hills area.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection's latest update on Thursday morning shows that the Palisades Fire has burned through more than 17,200 acres, while the Eaton Fire has expanded to 10,000. Both fires still have zero containment.

Also, the Hurst fire has spread to nearly 900 acres, 10% of which are contained, while the Lidia Fire has burned 350 acres, 40% of which are contained.

The newest, the Sunset Fire, was sparked on Wednesday night in Hollywood Hills and has grown to dozens of acres.

A new shortwave infrared satellite image by Maxar Technologies shows burning buildings by the Eaton fire in northeast Los Angeles.

The current LA fire seems to show the same anomalies as the previous ones in Hawaii and Paradise; houses are burning from the inside out, and car rims are melting while trees remain completely intact or only burn on the inside.
