It’s the coldest, windiest, driest, highest and most remote place on Earth. Its average temperature is 50-70 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. It has no permanent residents. It contains up to 90 percent of the world’s freshwater.

It covers 5.5 million square miles, about 98 percent of which is covered with ice. This is, of course, Antarctica. Nobody owns it. The 1951 Antarctic treaty outlawed ownership, and limits its use to peaceful, scientific research. Each year, 1000-5000 scientists and military officers are stationed at the various bases. About 40,000 tourists visit there yearly.

As with the Arctic, conspiracies abound, from secret Nazi bases, to an entrance to the hollow Earth. True or not, what is undeniably true is that the Antarctic has a long and rich history of UFO encounters. This video presents twelve cases of UFOs in Antarctica. They reach back 75 years and include sightings, landings, and humanoids. A few represent some of the best-verified UFO encounters in the history of ufology.

WE HAVE PHOTOGRAPHS TO PROVE WHAT WE SAW. While at the Chilean base, Arturo Prat, on February 23, 1948 Captain Augusto Vars Orrego of the Chilean Navy says that “During the bright Antarctic night, we saw flying saucers, one above the other, turning at tremendous speeds. We have photographs to prove what we saw.” Sadly, the photos were never released.

THE COLD SCRUTINY OF UNKNOWN EYES. On January 8, 1956. Four Chilean scientists stationed at Robertson Island in the Weddell Sea saw two metallic cigar-shaped objects hovering in a vertical position overhead. Thus began an hours-long encounter during which their Geiger counter went off. They took many photographs, but again, the photos have never been released.

I’M ASHAMED TO SAY I PANICKED. On December 11, 1958, McMurdo Sound Base, AQI Roger Benson was driving a snow-tractor outside the base when he came upon a landed UFO and a strange humanoid. He drove away in fear. At that time, a wave of sightings swept the area, many of which were caught on radar. Rear Admiral Dufek, then in charge of the base said, “I believe in UFOs.”

A POLISHED GOLD SURFACE. On June 7, 1962, Navy scientists at Hallett Station saw a brilliant golden disc in the sky. They were able to use binoculars to discern the disc-shape of a solid object. Despite this, Project Blue Book labeled the case as the sighting of Jupiter.

UFO INVESTIGATES NUCLEAR TEST. On July 9, 1962, the US detonated a 1.45 megaton in space 250 miles over Johnson Atoll, blowing out Earth’s magnetic field for 30 seconds, knocking out several satellites, and damaging the electric grid. Following the explosion, an expedition in Antarctica viewed a massive UFO heading to the area of the explosion.

UFOs TAKE CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT. On April 20, 1964, a C-130 flight near McMurdo Station lost power. Nine UFOs showed up and held the plane aloft for many miles. The crew took 9 rolls of film. The strangest part of the encounter happened when the plane landed and the crew unloaded the equipment, which weighed far less than it should.

UFO WAVE OVER DECEPTION ISLAND. In June and July of 1965, a wave of UFO sightings swept over the military and scientific bases stationed on Deception Island. With hundreds of observations by trained observers, recorded with a variety of scientific instrumentation, including photos, the wave represents undeniable evidence of UFO reality.

THE BUZZING CLOUD. On May 22, 1966, a British survey team at Mount Gaudry observed a strange cloud-like object sending a beam down to the ground, and moving in ways that ruled out conventional aircraft or natural phenomenon.

UFO OVER VOLCANIC ERUPTION. On December 4, 1967, a volcanic eruption at Mount Deception forced an emergency evacuation and destroyed both the British and Chilean stations located there. Incredibly, a photo captured not only the disaster, but what appears to be a UFO.

ANTARCTICA UFO CRASH. Reports of UFO crashes abound and there is at least one in Antarctica. Although not well-verified, reportedly in October 1982 when an expedition searching for meteorites allegedly came upon a crashed craft and five ET bodies.

THEY’RE DOING THE STRANGEST THING. Per Linda Moulton Howe, in 1983 (date approx.) “Brian,” claims that while based at McMurdo he was on a flight over the Transantarctic Mountains when they encountered a group of UFOs on maneuvers, one of several strange events he experienced.

AN ENORMOUS CIRCLE OF LIGHT. In April 1991, scientists at the Argentinian General San Martin Base received anomalous readings on their scientific instrumentation indicating the presence of a large power source overhead. Hours later, one of the men made a visual observation of a massive object.

With so many encounters, observed by so many trained scientists, verified by such a wide variety of scientific instruments and photographed, there is only one possible conclusion: the Antarctic is being visited by UFOs.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the recent wave of high-production UFO/UAP content, particularly Jesse Michels’ work and his connections to Peter Thiel & other Silicon Valley elites. The more I look at it, the more it feels like we, the public, are being used as leverage to force disclosure—only for the tech billionaires to swoop in and monopolize it like they do everything else.

Think about it: Thiel and his circle don’t have access to the tech, but they know about it. The only way they can get in is through controlled disclosure. They need whistleblowers, insiders—people with direct knowledge of these programs—to come to them first. Enter Jesse Michels: a well-funded, well-connected media personality with high-production podcasts and guests that make waves in the disclosure community.

Look at the Summoning Event with Jake Barber—a private event where "high net worth individuals" got access to info before the public even knew it was happening. Why? Because they want to be at the front of the line when the real secrets come out.

They’re using us. The disclosure movement, the general public’s push for truth—it’s all being weaponized so they can get first dibs on the knowledge, the tech, and the potential economic windfall. Just like the legacy programs buried this tech for decades, these Silicon Valley elites will do the same. But instead of the military-industrial complex hoarding it, it’ll be the new tech oligarchy, carving out their piece before we even realize what happened.

Pepe Escobar: Why Chinese Models Are Stunning Americans On The Tech Catwalk

When President Xi Jinping hosted a recent – rare – meeting with an array of Chinese tech superstars, including a “rehabilitated” Jack Ma, Alibaba’s founder, he urged them to “show their talent”, code for going for broke in the tech war with the U.S.



It was no wonder that young Liang Wenfeng, founder of AI sensation DeepSeek, was among the guests.

DeepSeek threw not only Silicon Valley but the whole somewhat paranoid U.S. national security ecosystem completely off balance. Yet Beijing’s emphasis is not subversion, but a sound drive towards building an AI system totally independent from U.S. monopolistic pressure and Nvidia products. Alibaba, Huawei and Tencent will likely align their infrastructure with DeepSeek.

This process is perfectly synchronized with the Made in China 2025 project, which has already propelled China to the leadership position in several sectors – from electric vehicles, batteries and solar panels to smart grids and advanced manufacturing. The final breakthroughs will be on top semiconductors and aerospace.

It’s now common knowledge that DeepSeek’s development was not a product of Silicon Valley labs showered with billions of dollars of research funds. Liang Wenfeng himself revealed it: “I won’t lie, our AI was created on the basis of Soviet developments – the OGAS system of Academician Glushkov.”

The wonders of History: a Soviet marvel auctioned off for a pittance, $15,000 in 1995 possibly because it was considered worthless, is now the backbone of China’s new digital revolution.

Physics heavyweight Quantum Bird, formerly with the CERN in Geneva, is adamant: “The Americans lost the plot. It’s all about models employing less computing power and less data. Nvidia high-performance GPUs costing $40,000 consume too much energy. Then there’s financial speculation. Raspberry Pi [a small single-board computer], the size of a credit card and with a simple processor, costing $50 for students, they may run DeepSeek, consuming less energy than a cellphone.”

And that’s just the beginning, Quantum Bird adds: “When Russia and China come up with their first lithographic machine… It was Silicon Valley that pushed the world to this.”

Russia-China scientists have already accelerated scientific computing on conventional Nvidia graphics cards by 800 times, creating a new algorithm using reverse engineering.

That was pulled off by a joint group of scientists from MSU-PPI University in Shenzhen (MSU-BIT University), established in 2014 by Lomonosov Moscow State University and Beijing Polytechnic Institute.

In parallel, researchers using Made in China GPUs have already boosted 10 times their performance over U.S. supercomputers relying on Nvidia hardware. U.S. tech sanctions? Who cares?

Counterpunching Sanctionmania

Chinese scientists are not intimidated by any challenges. On hardware, production of advanced GPUs like the A100 and H100 is a foreign monopoly. On software, Nvidia has restricted its CUDA software ecosystem from running on third-party hardware; that’s a serious problem for those working on independent algorithms.

These may not be insurmountable problems when a rolling wave of Chinese scientists is coming back home to China mostly from the U.S..

Take Tsinghua University chip superstar Sun Nan. Tsinghua’s social media recently revealed that Sun Nan came back in 2020 after many years in the U.S. to “train chip professionals for China and solving the manufacturing problems of mid- and high-end chip technology”.

The key sectors, once again, are semiconductors and quantum computing. Nothing Trump 2.0 will throw at China in terms of “tech containment” will alter the Chinese drive.

Sun Nan and his team have already come up with high-performance circuit design tech they integrated into more than 50 chips used in the Chinese power grid, high-speed rail, industrial measurement and control, instrumentation and electric vehicles.

Countering the American drive to derail China’s development in AI and chipmaking equipment, interconnected Sun Tzu maneuvers paint the picture of a Chinese transformation of current supply chains, fomenting a tech crisis in the West itself. That is a key reason for Trump’s obsession with Greenland and Ukraine’s rare earth potential.

Sanctionmania has been going on since 2017, when Trump started to impose a 60% tariff on Chinese imports. The Cadaver in the White House administration then slapped a 100% tax on Chinese EVs, and dozens of export controls on China, via coercion of its own “allies” such as Holland’s ASML and South Korea’s Hynix and Samsung.

Trump 2.0 will come up with a renewed charge of the heavy brigade quite soon.

By 2018, China was entirely dependent on Western tech. That was a time when telecom towers came from Ericsson, GPUs and chips for neural networks from Nvidia, and cars from the European giants.

Now it’s a completely different ball game: a blowback game.

Huawei leads in global telecom equipment. BYD is the world’s top producer of electric vehicles – ahead of Tesla since last year. Huawei is ahead of Google in smartphone processor shipments, also since last year. Xiaomi will launch its own smartphone processor this year.

Huawei’s Ascend 910B chip is already just 5% behind Nvidia’s AI products – and 70% cheaper. Huawei is vertically integrated with its own chip design and manufacturing supply chain – offering mobile operating systems (Harmony OS NEXT), electric vehicles, streaming services, and autonomous driving.

How to “directly benefit society”

Apart from DeepSeek, ByteDance, Baidu, Alibaba, and 01.ai have all developed their own sophisticated LLM models.

China not only already leads in industrial AI applications from robotics and drones to autonomous driving; it is also metastasizing its industrial, technological and economic breakthroughs into military power.

Example: the recently launched world’s first 6th generation fighter prototypes – not only one but two, simultaneously; the world’s first drone-carrier; the first hypersonic stealth unmanned airplanes for strike and reconnaissance; the first stealth unmanned warship; and the most powerful long-range air defence systems.

China is advancing at breakneck speed in directed energy weapons, military 5G, atomic timing, and space warfare systems.

As highlighted here, “China’s nuclear fusion device Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak (EAST), Physics World wrote, ‘produced a steady-state high-confinement plasma for 1,066 seconds, breaking EAST’s previous 2023 record of 403 seconds’. This last development is an advance for the potential of a fusion power plant, a promise of almost limitless clean energy without significant radioactive waste.”

China trades mostly with the Global South: more than 50% of total. Trade with the U.S. is less than 3% of its GDP – as of last year.

This is a about China’s Digital Silk Road progress across Eurasia Economic Union (EAEU) member states.

Here we see how China is shaping the EAEU geostrategically, positioning itself at the heart of high-tech and innovation in Eurasia, promoting advanced tech cooperation with Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. China’s tech companies all but conquered the EAEU high technology markets.

The mantra uniting all of the above is of course detailed planning. That includes for instance the “East data, West computing” drive, which aims to transfer data-intensive computing to western China to reduce energy strain in the east.

The absolute key battleground in the tech war ahead will of course be the Global South. China is relentlessly leveraging its notorious manufacturing dominance and massive financial backing to offer an alternative ecosystem in semiconductors and AI.

In sharp contrast, the Americans under Trump 2.0 predictably will coerce their allies/vassals to reinforce their own tech ecosystem. Total divergence in supply chains and tech standards is all but inevitable.

This July 2024 interview with Liang Wenfeng, originally published in China by An Yong, remains essential to understand what’s behind the Chinese drive to totally redefine the rules of tech innovation.

Liang Wenfeng is adamant: “We’re done following. It’s time to lead.” He sees competition in crystal clear terms: “I focus on whether something can elevate social efficiency (italics mine) and whether we can increase our strength in the value chain (…) It’s an honor (italics mine) to give back.”

As Chinese scholar Quan Le has noted, Liang Wenfeng’s

“intention of enhancing personal and collective creativity, thus directly benefitting the society, is not at all on the same epistemological level” of a “mindless consumerism society”. It’s about the common good, not about a Wall Street killing.

All’s set for a do-or-die U.S.-China tech duel ahead. No one really knows what a bombast-driven Trump 2.0 administration will come up with. There will always be an undercurrent of economic pragmatism, but that will be constantly offset by an ideological and strategic Iron Wall dividing both parties.

Meanwhile, China will keep betting on a stream of young innovators and entrepreneurs in business tech to somewhat bridge the divide. The Empire of Chaos will not take the competition lightly. The Middle Kingdom is unfazed – and ready to rock’n roll.

Chinese authorities are quietly instructing top artificial intelligence entrepreneurs and researchers to avoid traveling to the United States, signaling Beijing’s intensifying focus on AI as both an economic and national security priority, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter.

The guidance, while not an outright ban, reflects concerns that overseas trips by leading AI experts could lead to the disclosure of sensitive information about China’s technological advancements. Officials also fear that executives could face detainment, recalling the case of a Huawei executive arrested in Canada at Washington’s request during the first Trump administration, these people said.

The move underscores the deepening technological divide between the two global powers. China’s AI companies - including DeepSeek and Alibaba - are emerging as formidable competitors to U.S. leaders like xAI, OpenAI and Google. After the Biden administration enforced Trump-era semiconductor restrictions, Beijing is pressing its tech sector to align more closely with state interests and avoid potential vulnerabilities.

As Beijing advances its strategy of technological self-sufficiency, authorities in China’s major innovation hubs - including Shanghai, Beijing, and Zhejiang - have discouraged executives in AI and other critical fields from traveling to the U.S. or its allies unless absolutely necessary, sources said.

Entrepreneurs who do travel are expected to report their plans before departure and provide post-trip briefings on their activities and meetings, the sources added. The increased scrutiny is being applied not just to AI, but also to other strategically sensitive industries such as robotics.

Recent cases illustrate the impact of this policy. DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng declined an invitation to an AI summit in Paris earlier this year following guidance from authorities, sources familiar with the matter said. Similarly, the founder of another prominent Chinese AI startup abandoned plans for a U.S. visit last year under similar instructions.

On February 17, Beijing convened a meeting of the country’s most prominent business figures, during which Chinese leader Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of national duty in technology development. Among those in attendance were DeepSeek’s Liang and Wang Xingxing, the founder of humanoid robotics firm Unitree Robotics.

Treading Carefully in U.S.-China Relations

For China’s tech elite, open association with the U.S. or high-profile American figures carries risks. Such interactions could invite scrutiny from Chinese regulators or provoke government ire for deviating from official policy.

This dynamic was highlighted in 2017 when Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma met then-President-elect Donald Trump. Trump praised Ma as a "great entrepreneur," but the meeting, which preceded any formal engagement between top Chinese officials and the incoming U.S. administration, raised concerns in Beijing. Years later, Ma and his business empire came under intense regulatory pressure from Chinese authorities.

Despite these tensions, some level of U.S.-China tech interaction continues. At CES 2024 in Las Vegas, Chinese firms, including Unitree Robotics, maintained a strong presence, underscoring the ongoing commercial ties between the nations’ tech sectors.

Xiaomeng Lu, a senior analyst at Eurasia Group specializing in emerging technologies, suggested that Beijing’s travel guidance may stem from fears of talent loss or corporate buyouts by American firms. "For the tech sector, brain drain can have a devastating effect on a country," Lu said. "The initial signal is: Stay here, don’t run away."
