    • Lyrics:
    I'll remember it
    And Dublin in a rainstorm
And sitting in the long grass in summer
    Keeping warm
    I'll remember it
    Every restless night
    We were so young then
    We thought that everything
We could possibly do were the right
    Then we moved
    Stolen from our very eyes
And I wondered where you went to
Tell me when did the light die
    You will rise
    You'll return
    The phoenix from the flame
    You will learn
    You will rise
    You'll return
    Being what you are
    There is no other Troy
    For you to burn
And I never meant to hurt you
    I swear I didn't mean
    Those things I said
I never meant to do that to you
Next time I'll keep my hands to myself instead
    Oh, does she love you
What do you want to do?
Does she need you like I do?
    Do you love her?
    Is she good for you?
Does she hold you like I do?
    Do you want me?
    Should I leave?
I know you're always telling me
    That you love me
    Just sometimes I wonder
    If I should believe
    Oh, I love you
    God, I love you
I'd kill a dragon for you
    I'll die
    But I will rise
    And I will return
    The Phoenix from the flame
    I have learned
    I will rise
    And you'll see me return
    Being what I am
    There is no other Troy
    For me to burn
And you should've left the light on
You should've left the light on
    Then I wouldn't have tried
    And you'd never have known
And I wouldn't have pulled you tighter
No I wouldn't have pulled you close
    I wouldn't have screamed
No I can't let you go
    And the door wasn't closed
No I wouldn't have pulled you to me
No I wouldn't have kissed your face
You wouldn't have begged me to hold you
If we hadn't been there in the first place
Oh but I know you wanted me to be there oh oh
Every look that you threw told me so
But you should've left the light on
You should've left the light on
    And the flames burned away
    But you're still spitting fire
Make no difference what you say
    You're still a liar
    You're still a liar
    You're still a liar

    • The Story of 'House of the Rising Sun' – From Folk to Fame:

Dive into the untold history behind The House of the Rising Sun, the iconic song that defined a generation. In this video, we explore its roots, starting with its first recording by Georgia Turner in the 1930s, thanks to ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax. Discover how this haunting ballad evolved through folk legends like Leadbelly and Bob Dylan, before finding its ultimate expression with Eric Burdon and The Animals. From the song’s Civil War-era origins to its rise to #1 on the U.S. charts, you’ll uncover fascinating details about how The House of the Rising Sun transcended genres and became a cultural touchstone. With versions by legends like Nina Simone, Joan Baez, and Dolly Parton, there’s no shortage of incredible covers, but no one did it quite like The Animals.

Here are the official The Animals House Of The Rising Sun / House Of The Rising Sun
    • Lyrics:
    [Chorus]
There is a house in New Orleans
    They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

    [Verse 1]
    My mother was a tailor
She sewed my new blue jeans
My father was a gamblin' man
    Down in New Orleans

    [Verse2]
Now the only thing a gambler needs
Is a suitcase and a trunk
And the only time he'll be satisfied
    Is when he's all drunk

    [Organ Solo]

    [Verse 3]
    Oh, mother, tell your children
Not to do what I have done
Spend your lives in sin and misery
In the House of the Rising Sun

    [Verse 4]
Well, I got one foot on the platform
The other foot on the train
I'm goin' back to New Orleans
To wear that ball and chain

    [Chorus]
Well, there is a house in New Orleans
    They call the Rising Sun
And it's been the ruin of many a poor boy
And God, I know I'm one

You just reminded me of a great cover of War Pigs by an amazing independent artist. If you haven't heard of Ren, let me introduce him to y'all. He was in a band called The Big Push before he became ill with Lyme disease. They used to busk on the streets in Brighton UK.

But this is the doozy, the track that put him on the map. Prepare to be blown away. It's like not much else out there. I will let it speak for itself. All done in one take too, live.

And a couple of beautiful tracks with a girl called Chinchilla.

He is, has amassed quite a big following now. His YT is definitely a fun rabbit hole to go down, he is a creative tour de force.

(No one), understands what power is, understands what glory is

    ....

If you knew all that I knew, you'd see the truth but you'd close your eyes

    ...

To conquer death you only have to die.
Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. Bruce Lee

Free will can only be as free as the mind that conceives it.

Most modern commercial music is horrible, but there are some gems out there.
