It's John Carpenter's turn to receive the ZeroPi treatment with a violin cover of his Escape From New York Main Theme!
Like, comment, subscribe and share if you enjoyed it!

ZeroPi (Sarah Leo on violin and Marco Negro on keyboards, programming and mixing) is a duo playing instrumental 80s synth pop - new new wave original tracks, covers of some great eighties classics (Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, Ultravox, Yazoo, A-ha and more) and revisited traditional Irish tunes.

All the sequencing is done on hardware gear, just because it's more fun! 😉

    Gear used:

Yamaha QY700, Novation Circuit, Roland Juno 2, Waldorf Streichfett, Waldorf Pulse 2, Vermona Mono Lancet, Arturia Minibrute.

Mixer/FX/other stuff: Allen & Heath Zed R-16, Korg SDD-3000 pedal, t.bone RM 700 ribbon microphone, JoeMeek sixQ, Sound Skulptor STS.

    Breaking out is impossible ...
    Breaking in is insane!

Love the movie! ... Saw it in the cinema when it came out! (I was 16 years old back them!)

Spielberg has Williams, Nolan has Zimmer, Burton has Elfman.
    Carpenter has John Carpenter.

John Carpenter is the film maker’s filmmaker. The guy who writes the script, directs the movie and then writes the musical score for it. And did most of his work back in the days before computers and CGI, making every bit of any of that process harder. We NEED more filmmakers like John Carpenter today now more than ever. An absolute legend.

    cheers,
    John 🦜🦋🌳

I like to watch 'Snake Plisken', the tough guy. Its so corny and satisfying. But there's only escape from LA available.

I would love to watch Escape From New York again a few times.

Ya, I'll watch a movie I like ten times rather than suffer through some worthless tripe they serve up these days.

I cannot quite understand why this song keeps playing in my head whenever I think of my wife, which is often:

I go to sleep to this song, wake up to it, hear it all day long, for months now.
But I think it is my protection from other songs, our songs, that would probably send me into emotional havoc - they have tried to creep in from time to time and my heart has done a few back-flips in terror, while my mind instantly starts up this song.
One day I will forget this protection, and I will have to face the music...

    OH, Oh, Oh, OOOOH!
It isn't fair to take away my only dream!
Some one help me, help me please!

This was not a puppy love!
Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless — like water...Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend. Bruce Lee

Free will can only be as free as the mind that conceives it.

Dimash Q who has been noted to sing across 6 octaves and sang Ava Maria in his younger years has been playing with genre fusion, and music video productions. Earlier this week I discovered a video he did a little over a year ago. I like the bluesy aspects.

I'm not so much into the whole vampire/horror type thing, but the musical genre fusion in the video was interesting to me, as well as the production, cinematography and editing... spot on. He's playing with what he can do creatively and it's fun to watch, not just this video, but the overall trend of his body of work.

I've also been re-listening to some Sia, especially Never Give Up, from the Lion soundtrack. (one song on repeat... )

If Johann Sebastian Bach is the greatest composer of all times –
if Bach’s work for keyboard is the greatest achievement among his various achievements –
if his 20-piece 90-minute Die Kunst der Fuge (The Art of the Fugue) is his greatest keyboard work –

then Die Kunst der Fuge is the music to take with me to the dormant volcano snowtop where I would prefer to depart

    ...

In the world of serious music more and more young geniuses arise who understand that perfection is only possible if one abandons oneself wholly to the spirit of genius of the greatest among the greatest..

The Italian Filippo Gorini is only from 1995 – but he plays Bach every second at a level almost beyond my comprehension..

Thanks Tigger, wonderful feel-good -music, perfect for anything, in my case long walks.

    Don't fret precious I'm heree
    Step away from the window
    Go back to sleep
    Lay your head down child
I won't let the boogeyman come
    Counting bodies like sheep
To the rhythm of the war drums
Pay no mind to the rabble
Pay no mind to the rabble
    Head down, go to sleep
To the rhythm of the war drums
Pay no mind what other voices say
    They don't care about you
    Like I do
    Like I do
Safe from pain and truth and choice and other poison devils
See they don't give a **** about you
    Like I do
    Just stay with me
    Safe and ignorant
    Go back to sleep
    Go back to sleep
    Lay your head down child
I won't let the boogeyman come
    Count the bodies like sheep
To the rhythm of the war drums
Pay no mind to the rabble
Pay no mind to the rabble
    Head down, go to sleep
To the rhythm of the war drums
I'll be the one to protect you from
Your enemies and all your demons
I'll be the one to protect you from
A will to survive and a voice of reason
I'll be the one to protect you from
Your enemies and your choices son
One and the same I must isolate you
Isolate and save you from yourself
Swaying to the rhythm of the new world order and
    Count the bodies like sheep
To the rhythm of the war drum
    The boogeymen are coming
    The boogeymen are coming
Keep your head down go to sleep
To the rhythm of the war drums
    Stay with me
    Safe and ignorant
    Just stay with me
Hold you and protect you from the other ones
    The evil ones
    Don't love you son
    Go back to sleep
