Is every mind connected to form a peer to peer network that creates the illusion of a shared reality, making the appearance of material reality a simulation created through shared beliefs?
For the first hour of watching this I was asking myself why Netflix produced this documentary because I see Netflix as very much part of 'the enemy'.
Then, at about one hour into it, they flipped the script and it suddenly made sense why Netflix produced it.
Quite a crafty ploy. They spent a whole hour drawing the viewer in with believable and probably true stuff about the psychology of social media. It had me convinced and so I assume most people convinced that it was a genuine truthy documentary. Then it went hard into dissing "conspiracy theories". As one would expect, they used the 'Flat Earth' thing to get started but they didn't hang around there for more than a few moments before they were off into dissing real conspiracy stuff.
Thanks Netflix. It was so logically predictable I'm slightly embarrassed that I took it seriously for a whole hour.
