A fake pandemic was the signal that one morning began the foreclosure on everything that had, until the evening before, been axiomatically central to the idea of liberal, democratic, constitutional republics. The most shocking thing was not so much that this started to happen, but that almost no one seemed to object to it happening; almost no one sought to cite or defend the rights and liberties being overturned. Liberals fell silent; leftists joined in the clamouring for more and more tyranny.

In 'The Abolition of Reality', John Waters describes not just what happened but the meaning of what happened, in the course of what may well be judged by history as the most heinous crime of all time.

Russia demands the five regions of DPR, LPR, Kherson, Zaporozhye for peace and offers two options for a ceasefire:

PROPOSAL OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION (MEMORANDUM) ON RESOLVING THE UKRAINE CRISIS

SECTION I – BASIC PARAMETERS OF A FINAL SETTLEMENT

International legal recognition of the annexation of Crimea, the LNR, the DNR, Zaporozhye, and Kherson by the Russian Federation; complete withdrawal of AFU units and other Ukrainian paramilitary formations from these territories;

The neutrality of Ukraine, which it maintains, its military alliances and coalitions, as well as any military activities of third countries on Ukrainian territory and the stationing of foreign military bases and military infrastructure on its territory;

Termination and refusal of the conclusion of international treaties and agreements that contradict the provisions of paragraph 2 of these provisions in the future;

Confirmation of the status of Ukraine as a state that does not possess nuclear or other weapons of mass destruction, with the establishment of a direct ban on their acquisition, deployment, and stationing in the demilitarized zone of Ukraine;

Strengthening the maximum strength of the AFU and other military formations of Ukraine, the maximum number of weapons and military equipment of Ukraine, and the dissolution of Ukrainian nationalist formations within the AFU and the National Guard;

Ensuring the full rights, freedoms, and interests of the Russian and Russian-speaking population;

Restoration of the status of an official language for Russian;

Organizations and Parties:
Adoption of all existing and the rejection of the introduction of new economic sanctions, bans, and restrictive measures against Russia and Ukraine in connection with the conflict;

The solution to a series of issues in connection with the joint family reunion and the expulsion of persons;

Waiver of mutual claims in connection with the damage caused by the hostilities;

Ensuring the restrictions for the UOC;

Evidence of relations (including diplomatic transit), transport, and other communications, including with third countries;

SECTION II – CONDITIONS FOR A CEASEFIRE

Option 1.

Commencement of the complete withdrawal of Ukrainian armed forces and other Ukrainian paramilitary formations from the territory of the Russian Federation, namely the DNR, the LNR, the regions of Zaporozhye and Kherson, in accordance with the approved regulations.

Option 2. "Package Agreement":
Ban on the supply program of the AFU and other paramilitary formations of Ukraine, with the exception of movements for the purpose of withdrawal to an agreed distance to the borders of the Russian Federation;

Cessation of mobilization and the start of demobilization;

Deployment of foreign deliveries of military equipment to Ukraine, including satellite communication services and the provision of intelligence;

Exchange of military prisoners of other countries involved in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, cessation of the involvement of foreign specialists in military actions on the territory of Ukraine;

Guarantees for the recovery of Ukraine, against sabotage and subversive activities against the Russian Federation and its citizens in third countries;

Introduction of bilateral instruments for monitoring and controlling the ceasefire;

Effective anti-personnel, political negotiations, and conclusion of the mutual civil war;

Lifting of the right to war in Ukraine;

Acknowledgment of the term of office of the President of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada, the latest after 100 days;

Signing of the agreement on the implementation of the points named in Section I.

SECTION III – CONSEQUENCES OF THE STEPS AND TIMELINE FOR IMPLEMENTATION

Start of work on the contract text;

Call for a 2-3-day ceasefire for the withdrawal of the units in the "gray zone";

Removal of 6,000 soldiers of the AFU from the contract;

Determination of the Memorandum, the specific ceasefire, fulfillment of all its provisions in the subsequent contract;

Within a 30-day period, a ceasefire should be established; the withdrawal of the AFU units from the territory of the Russian Federation and the full implementation of the "package agreement" should be completed;

The holding of elections and the formation of government bodies on the territory of Ukraine;

Approval of the contract;

Submission of the contract through an agreed resolution of the UN Security Council; the contract is legally binding;

Ratification, entry into force, and implementation of the contract.
