Ivermectin Worked: New Peer-Reviewed Study Proves It
By Dr. Joseph Mercola • Aug. 30, 2023

A preprint paper showing ivermectin’s effectiveness against COVID-19 in Peru convinced a group of doctors that widespread ivermectin distribution could end the pandemic in October 2020

Because the paper wasn’t yet peer-reviewed, it was brushed off; ivermectin for COVID-19 was vilified, as were those who dared to prescribe it. Now, the study has been peer-reviewed and published in Cureus, vindicating ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19. Not only did ivermectin work against COVID-19, it was remarkably effective, resulting in a 74% reduction in excess deaths in the 10 Peru states where it was used most intensively. There was a 14-fold reduction in nationwide excess deaths when ivermectin was readily available and then a 13-fold increase in excess deaths in the two months after ivermectin use was restricted.

As the COVID pandemic wore on, with potential treatments supposedly unknown, New York pulmonologist Dr. Pierre Kory and others tried to get the word out about ivermectin. A widely used antiparasitic drug that’s listed on the World Health Organization’s essential medicines list1 and approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, ivermectin is widely available, inexpensive and has a long history of safe usage.

In fact, since 1987, 3.7 billion doses of ivermectin have been used among humans worldwide,2 but it was quickly vilified — as were those who dared to prescribe it. Now, the tables have turned. Not only did ivermectin work against COVID-19, it was remarkably effective, resulting in a 74% reduction in excess deaths in the 10 states where it was used most intensively.3

    Ivermectin Dramatically Slashed COVID Deaths
Kory and other physicians with the Front Line COVID-19 Critical Care Working Group (FLCCC) had success early on treating patients with ivermectin and other therapies during the pandemic. His efforts to get the word out on this treatment protocol were stifled by censorship, ridicule and colleagues brainwashed by the official narrative and unwilling to accept the science.

A preprint paper showing ivermectin’s effectiveness against COVID-19 in Peru “was the final piece of evidence which convinced me, Paul [Marik] and the FLCCC that widespread ivermectin distribution could end the pandemic in Oct of 2020,” Kory tweeted.4 “Took 2 years but now peer-reviewed & published in a major journal.”

That study, published in Cureus,5 vindicates ivermectin as a treatment for COVID-19. “Reductions in excess deaths over a period of 30 days after peak deaths averaged 74% in the 10 states with the most intensive IVM [ivermectin] use,” the study found.6 It used Peruvian national health data from Peru’s 25 states to evaluate ivermectin’s effects.

A natural experiment was set in motion in May 2020, when Peru authorized ivermectin for COVID-19. The significant reduction in excess deaths noted “correlated closely with the extent of IVM use,” the researchers noted.

Global Success Stories Highlight Ivermectin’s Potential
Few have heard about the astonishing success of ivermectin in Uttar Pradesh, India, which embraced large-scale prophylactic and therapeutic use of ivermectin for COVID-19 patients, close contacts of patients and health care workers.

“The possibility of both preventative and treatment efficacies of IVM was raised by outcomes in another world region in which IVM was distributed to the population at risk for COVID-19 on a mass scale. This IVM distribution occurred in Uttar Pradesh, the largest state in India, having a population of 229 million,” the study added.8

There, widespread ivermectin distribution likely resulted in significantly lower COVID-19 deaths compared to areas not using the drug

“The cumulative total of COVID-19 deaths per million in population from July 7, 2021 through April 1, 2023 was 4.3 in Uttar Pradesh, as compared with 70.4 in all of India and 1,596.3 in the United States … The much lower number of COVID-19 deaths per population in all of India versus the United States in that period may reflect the use of these same home treatment kits containing IVM, doxycycline, and zinc in some other states of India.”

A similar series of events occurred in Itajai, Brazil, a city of 220,000 people. In June 2020, they implemented a prophylaxis program using ivermectin. The program was advertised throughout local media, and people were encouraged to participate and take ivermectin four times a month, on days 1, 2, 15 and 16.

On the appropriate days, they set up tents and centers where people could get the drug, and the entire program was carefully logged in an electronic database. In all, 159,000 Brazilians participated, of those 113,000 elected to take the ivermectin.

Kory and eight coauthors published a paper on the results, which showed “regular use of ivermectin as a prophylactic agent was associated with significantly reduced COVID-19 infection, hospitalization, and mortality rates.”10

Those who used ivermectin had a 44% reduction in COVID-19 infection rate, a 68% reduction in COVID-19 mortality and a 56% reduction in hospitalization rate compared to those who did not.11

Meanwhile, a study from Japan demonstrated that just 12 days after doctors were allowed to legally prescribe ivermectin to their COVID-19 patients, cases dropped dramatically.12 The chairman of the Tokyo Medical Association13 noticed the low number of infections and deaths in Africa, where many use ivermectin prophylactically and as the core strategy to treat river blindness.14

    Government’s Ivermectin Restrictions Increased Deaths
In a striking revelation, ivermectin was used against COVID-19 in Peru for four months, before the new president put restrictions on its use. During that time, “there was a 14-fold reduction in nationwide excess deaths and then a 13-fold increase in the two months following the restriction of IVM use.”15

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has towed the anti-ivermectin narrative all along, with its infamous tweet reading, “You are not a horse. You are not a cow. Seriously, y’all. Stop it.”16 While commanding the U.S. public and physicians not to use ivermectin for an off-label use, the irony stands that close to 40% of U.S. prescriptions are for off-label uses.17

But now, after years of vilification, it had no choice but to admit what’s been right all along — doctors have the authority to prescribe ivermectin for COVID-19. Attorney Jared Kelson of Boyden Gray & Associates, who is representing physicians who have sued the FDA for interfering with their practice of medicine, including relating to ivermectin for COVID-19, explained:18

“The fundamental issue is straightforward. After the FDA approves a human drug for sale, does it then have the authority to influence or interfere with how that drug is used within the doctor-patient relationship? The answer is no.”

The FDA did just that, nonetheless, but finally admitted the truth on August 16, 2023, tweeting, “Health care professionals generally may choose to prescribe an approved human drug for an unapproved use when they judge that the unapproved use is medically appropriate for an individual patient.”19

In September 2021, the American Medical Association also told doctors to stop prescribing ivermectin for COVID-19. In a statement, AMA, along with the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), warned:20

“We are alarmed by reports that outpatient prescribing for and dispensing of ivermectin have increased 24-fold since before the pandemic and increased exponentially over the past few months. As such, we are calling for an immediate end to the prescribing, dispensing, and use of ivermectin for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 outside of a clinical trial.

In addition, we are urging physicians, pharmacists, and other prescribers — trusted health care professionals in their communities — to warn patients against the use of ivermectin outside of FDA-approved indications and guidance, whether intended for use in humans or animals, as well as purchasing ivermectin from online stores.”

How many died unnecessarily as a result of these commands? As noted by journalist Kim Iversen, even the FDA’s move advising doctors that they’re allowed to prescribe ivermectin for COVID-19 is too little, too late. “Now, two, three years later, too little, too late… ultimately, we now get this study that has been officially peer reviewed and published, and it shows significant, significant, significant reduction [of mortality] in COVID-19.”21

How Does Ivermectin Work Against COVID?
Ivermectin binds to SARS-CoV-2’s spike protein, limiting the virus’ morbidity and infectivity.22 The drug, while best known for its antiparasitic effects, also has demonstrated antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. An in vitro study demonstrated that a single treatment with ivermectin effectively reduced viral load 5,000 times in 48 hours in cell culture.23

Studies have shown that ivermectin helps to lower the viral load by inhibiting replication.24 A single dose of ivermectin can kill 99.8% of the virus within 48 hours.25 A meta-analysis in the American Journal of Therapeutics also showed the drug reduced infection by an average of 86% when used preventively.26

Ivermectin has also been shown to speed recovery, in part by inhibiting inflammation and protecting against organ damage.27 This pathway also lowers the risk of hospitalization and death. Meta analyses have shown an average reduction in mortality that ranges from 75%28 to 83%.29,30

Additionally, the drug also prevents transmission of SARS-CoV-2 when taken before or after exposure.31 As the Cureus study noted, the latest data only adds further evidence that ivermectin has an important place in COVID-19 treatment:32

“These encouraging results from IVM treatments in Peru and similar positive indications from Uttar Pradesh, India, which have populations of 33 million and 229 million, respectively, offer promising models for further mass deployments of IVM, as needs may arise, for both the treatment and prevention of COVID-19.”

It’s worth noting, too, that ivermectin has notable antitumor effects, which include inhibiting proliferation, metastasis and angiogenic activity in cancer cells.33 It appears to inhibit tumor cells by regulating multiple signaling pathways, which researchers explained in the Pharmacological Research journal, “suggests that ivermectin may be an anticancer drug with great potential.”34

    Why Was Ivermectin Suppressed?

The average treatment cost for ivermectin is $58.35 Do you think this has anything to do with ivermectin’s vilification? The authors of the Cureus study certainly do:36

“The exceptional safety profile and low cost of IVM certainly support its use as in Peru’s operation MOT [Mega-Operación Tayta] and in Uttar Pradesh as an attractive national policy for COVID-19 mitigation. These significant reductions in mortality as achieved in Peru and Uttar Pradesh suggest that the impact of such a national IVM deployment would be observable within a relatively short period.

However, generic drugs have often fared poorly in competition with patented offerings in past decades, based upon the unfortunate vulnerability of science to commodification and regulatory capture … Such a potential bias against IVM was suggested by a February 4, 2021 press release from Merck, which was then developing its own patented COVID-19 therapeutic, claiming that there was ‘a concerning lack of safety data’ for IVM.

However, IVM is Merck’s own drug, found safe at doses considerably higher than its standard dose in several studies, as cited in the section on the background on IVM treatments of COVID-19, and the Nobel Prize committee specifically noted IVM’s safety record in honoring the discovery of this drug in its 2015 prize for medicine.”

If you’d like to learn more about ivermectin’s potential uses for COVID-19, FLCCC’s I-CARE protocol can be downloaded in full,37 giving you step-by-step instructions on how to prevent and treat the early symptoms of COVID-19.

Why are people ordering horse paste??????

    https://buyivermectin.us/
Have you tried this link? It goes to a personal paypal link for India... It does not accept any form of payment aside from Paypal, and I do not know if they would refund in a dispute if they took payment and sent nothing...
Thought I should mention this: I didn't use that link but I did buy mine from India. After using their storefront, which looked dodgy as hell, I got an informal paypal link through email (with NO mention of the word 'ivermectin' anywhere), payed ££ and then waited. I was dealing with a human every step of the way. I got exactly what I ordered. I did this twice, it was smooth both times for me. We don't need to work off trust for off the shelf products typically, it didn't really feel right with the fake looking website. But it was fine in the end. I guess this is what the 21st century looks like? I got human grade tablets. The FDA talking about Ivermectin in terms of horse paste was such a divisive and ultimately telling move. They never called Aspirin horse powder

Oncologist: “There Is Now Extensive Research to Support Ivermectin Use in Treating Cancer”

Ivermectin, the drug once labeled “horse de-wormer,” is now showing 15 anti-cancer mechanisms of action, reported

    in a recent article.

“They [researchers] have found that if you give higher doses of Ivermectin than what’s been used for COVID-19, that it actually can stop the growth of these cancer cells, it can stop their metastases, and it can actually engage apoptosis and autophagy and kill these cancer cells.”

    • FDA CAVES & Will Stop Lying About Ivermectin! w/ Dr. Mary Talley Bowden:

The propaganda campaign against Ivermectin as a treatment for COVID was no doubt spurred by the pharmaceutical industry, and serving as Big Pharma’s attack dog was the FDA which repeatedly mischaracterized and misled the public about Ivermectin, in particular spreading the “horse medicine” lie. But now the FDA is being forced to delete all the social media posts badmouthing Ivermectin thanks to a lawsuit brought by physicians who were victims of the FDA’s anti-Ivermectin war.

In this segment Jimmy and Kurt Metzger talk to Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, a Texas ear, nose and throat specialist who helped successfully sue the FDA, about this critical victory for health freedom.

Briahna Joy Gray and Robby Soave react to Chris Cuomo's praise of Joe Rogan. #Cuomo #JoeRogan Disclaimer: The FDA has not authorized or approved ivermectin for use in preventing or treating COVID-19 in humans or animals.

For humans, ivermectin tablets are approved at specific doses to treat some parasitic worms, and there are topical (on the skin) formulations for head lice and skin conditions like rosacea. For animals, certain pour-on, injectable, paste, chewable, and “drench” ivermectin products are approved in the U.S. to treat or prevent parasites in animals.

    • Dr. Hazan on Ivermectin, COVID, and MRNA Vaccines:

Dr. Sabine Hazan recently testified in front of Congress about the suppression and censorship of her research on COVID-19 treatments such as Ivermectin, and vitamin protocols which included D, C, and Zinc. She details her struggles with getting research approved and published, shedding light on the broader issues of scientific integrity and transparency within the medical community. Dr. Hazan emphasized the undue influence of pharmaceutical interests on regulatory processes and the challenges this poses to unbiased, independent research. I think John Campbell must've put the worm heading in to avoid YT Big Brother, but the intimation here is that Ivermectin, together with a range of wormers, can address cancer and even metastasised cancer cells. The patient quoted by the doctor towards the end, had several tumours, none of which were operable, and he took Ivermectin for 6 weeks, after which the tumours had disappeared.

It's high time that Ivermectin was put back on the chemist shelves and available on demand.

The mainstream media has been ordered to continue demonizing Ivermectin and urging people not to take it even though major studies have proven that the Nobel prize winning wonder drug cures 28 forms of cancer.

According to a Gates Foundation insider, Ivermectin posed a threat to the massive financial success of the Covid-19 mRNA vaccines, and now it’s challenging the trillion dollar profits the elite stand to gain from the surge in turbo cancers due to the vaccines.

This is crucial information, and it’s vital that everyone understands the game the elite are playing so they can’t cause any more harm to our health.

Exploring the Anticancer Potential of Fenbendazole: A Review of Anecdotal Case Reports and Emerging Evidence (2025)
A compilation of 80 case reports across various cancer types,

including breast, lung, colorectal, and pancreatic cancers

While these anecdotal accounts suggest potential anticancer effects of fenbendazole,

the lack of controlled clinical trials necessitates caution.

Healthcare professionals should be consulted before considering fenbendazole as a treatment option.

There has been growing popularity in recent years for the use of Fenbendazole (FBZ) as a single agent or supplementary therapeutic

    Methods

Reports were categorized by cancer type, and outcomes were assessed based on self-reported measures such as tumor regression, remission status, and overall survival.

    Results

These findings, while compelling, must be interpreted cautiously due to the inherent limitations of the data sources.

    Breast Cancer

Eight cases of breast cancer reported outcomes such as tumor shrinkage or remission.

A majority of these cases involved early to moderate-stage disease, with some patients combining fenbendazole with standard treatments like chemotherapy and hormonal therapy.

One notable case involved a patient with metastatic triple-negative breast cancer achieving remission after six months of fenbendazole use,
alongside a ketogenic diet and immune-supportive supplements.

    Lung Cancer

Nine cases, highlighted improved survival rates and tumor regression.

One patient with advanced NSCLC demonstrated significant tumor shrinkage within three months of incorporating fenbendazole alongside checkpoint inhibitors.

    Colorectal Cancer

In nine cases, patients reported tumor reduction, remission, or disease stabilization.

The most striking outcome was from a patient with stage IV colorectal cancer achieving no evidence of disease (NED) status after integrating fenbendazole with conventional therapies and dietary modifications.

    Pancreatic Cancer

Eight cases involved pancreatic cancer, an aggressive malignancy with limited treatment options.

Outcomes were generally less pronounced than in other cancers

    Other Cancer Types

Reports included melanoma, prostate cancer, glioblastoma, and ovarian cancer, with mixed outcomes. Some patients indicated significant clinical improvement, including reduced tumor markers and alleviated symptoms.

Combination Therapies, with conventional cancer treatments (e.g., chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy), ? making fenbendazole’s specific effects.

Supplement Use: Many used supportive supplements, (e.g., D3, C), zinc, curcumin, ? synergistic effects

Consistency and Dosage: Regular and sustained use of fenbendazole appeared to correlate with better-reported outcomes. Dosages ranged from 222 mg (a standard veterinary dose) to 1 gram per day, depending on individual protocols.

    Limitations

    Sample size, (N=80)

    Self-Reported Data

    Concurrent Therapies

    Potential Mechanisms of Action

    Microtubule Disruption

Metabolic Effects, (inhibits glucose uptake in cancer cells)

Immune Modulation, (may enhance immune responses)

    Discussion

Consistency of positive outcomes across diverse cancer types suggests a potential biological effect that merits further investigation.

The pattern of case reports also suggests that fenbendazole may exhibit broad-spectrum anticancer properties.

It is imperative that patients consult healthcare professionals before considering fenbendazole as a treatment option.

    Future Directions

    Controlled Clinical Trials

    Mechanistic Studies

    Combination Therapy Research

    Conclusion

The consistency of anecdotal outcomes, supported by plausible preclinical mechanisms, positions fenbendazole as a promising candidate for further investigation in oncology.

I am a stage IV metastatic prostate cancer survivor 5 1/2 years now. Menbendazole, ivermectin, atorvastatin, metformin....PSA went from 1900 to undetectable for past 4 years. Oncologist couldn't care less I am still alive. How can we get the word out faster?

    @BusyMama-07
My friend's dad had terminal bladder cancer and had months to live. He started taking ivermectin and now he's cancer free within six months.

    @dagnolia6004
we have the right to eat sugar, drink alcohol, smoke tobacco, etc. BUT oh NO...don't take a drug we can't make into MONEY!

Government should not interfere with being born or dying. These experiences are right out of the hand of God.

    Fenbendazole (Fen ben)

    @JudyHart1
Fenbendazole gave a friend 5 more years, she’d been directed to hospice, 30 days later 100% cancer free with fenbendazole.

    @petralyrical3546
I have high grade DCIS (Ductal carcinoma in situ), I’ve been using fenben and ivermectin for 6 months and have shrunk my tumour by over a cm

    Support the Over-the-Counter Ivermectin Bill
    February 7, 2025
    https://securetherepublic.com/arkans...ermectin-bill/

(Hyperlinks in the article not embedded here)

    Ivermectin:
This Wonder Drug Medicine Has Saved Millions of Lives!
    A Nobel Prize-Winning Medication

"Here is proposed Arkansas legislation regarding Ivermectin:

    SENATE BILL 189

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE IVERMECTIN FOR HUMAN USE TO BE
SOLD WITHOUT A PRESCRIPTION OR CONSULTATION WITH A
HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Readers, what a blessing it would be for Arkansans to be able to buy Ivermectin over-the-counter!

On April 22, 2022, Tennessee passed Senate Bill 2188 that would authorize “Ivermectin suitable for human use” to be sold or bought as an over-the-counter medication in Tennessee without a prescription.

And other states have similar bills to Arkansas’ Senate Bill 189:

    North Dakota SB2388

    South Carolina H3916

    Oklahoma SB426

    Oklahoma HB1239

Requests for access to this drug are loud and insistent, and our elected officials are listening!

Some background: Ivermectin was registered for human use in 1987. Many doctors have highly recommended this effective drug for parasites and severe viral infections, so it’s an essential mainstay drug.

For over four decades, Ivermectin has continued to provide a high margin of safety for a growing number of indications with over four billion doses given, and it has little side effects.

Did you know that millions of lives were saved globally with the systematic use of Ivermectin during the Covid scare, AND it’s safer than Tylenol?

Here is some great information about the benefits of Ivermectin from ScienceDirect:
The FDA-approved drug Ivermectin inhibits the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in vitro.

Here are the highlights from the above link:

Ivermectin is an inhibitor of the COVID-19 causative virus (SARS-CoV-2) in vitro.

A single treatment able to effect ~5000-fold reduction in virus at 48h in cell culture.

Ivermectin is FDA-approved for parasitic infections, and therefore has a potential for repurposing.

Ivermectin is widely available, due to its inclusion on the WHO model list of essential medicines.

A snippet regarding the funding of this study:

This work was supported by a National Breast Cancer Foundation Fellowship, Australia (ECF-17-007) for KMW and an National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), Australia Senior Prinicple [not a Secure Arkansas typo] Research Fellow (SPRF) (APP1103050) for DAJ.

Readers, the United States should be leading in repurposed drugs, and we should be leading in availability and making these good drugs in our own country!

So, why were these fantastic pharmaceutical drugs — Ivermectin and Hydroxychlorquine (introduced in 1955) — withheld from the American public as treatment therapy during the Covid scare? Many CEO’s, elected officials, healthcare workers, and the global elite were all taking hydroxychloroquine or Ivermectin for prophylaxis during that time span. This Covid virus was loosed from the Wuhan, China Laboratory onto millions of innocent victims.

Also, remember that Dr. Fauci blocked the use of effective, trusted therapies such as Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ), Ivermectin, and any other therapy that worked for people who had Covid-19 and instead pushed the dangerous new drug Remdesivir.

Dr. Fauci had financial holdings in Gilead Sciences, the maker of Remdesivir, via Edgewood Growth Fund. Click here for Contributory IRA (Fauci’s holdings in Edgewood Growth Fund via Gilead Sciences, Incorporated, which produces the drug Remdesivir).

Gilead Sciences began accepting requests from clinicians for use of Remdesivir on January 25, 2020.

And you may recall that one of the side effects of Remdesivir is kidney failure… and when one’s kidneys fail, their lungs can fill up with fluid which looks like… pneumonia.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is, or was, on the leadership council for the Gates Foundation (formerly, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation), and he retired from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at the end of 2022.

The Gates Foundation Leadership Council is comprised of:

    Dr. Margaret Chan, Director General of WHO;

    Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, Director of NIAID, part of the National Institutes of Health;

    Mr. Anthony Lake, Executive Director for UNICEF;

Ms. Joy Phumaphi, Chair of the International Advisory Committee and Executive Secretary, African Leaders Malaria Alliance

    Dr. Tachi Yamada, President of Global Health at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation;

Back in 2020, Secure Arkansas requested financial disclosures of some key personnel at NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases).

Here are some of the investment details for NIAID former Director Dr. Anthony S. Fauci and his wife, Christine Grady:

Click here for Spouse (Christine Grady) Revocable Trust (Notice the redaction)

Click here for Spouse (Christine Grady) IRA Contributory (Notice the redaction)

Also, Dr. Anthony Fauci owns several U.S. patents that contain a key glycoprotein (HIV Component) used to create COVID-19…. and don’t be surprised if Fauci stole the research papers from scientists to do it. Wasn’t he, as part of Robert Gallo’s team, involved in stealing research papers from French scientists on HIV and claiming the discovery of the virus as their own?

And, even today, why is the pharmaceutical industry silent on these good generic medicines like Ivermectin and Hydroxychlorquine?

Back to the proposed state legislation regarding Ivermectin:
Soon, this worthy bill, SB 189, will come before the Arkansas Senate Committee on Public Health, Welfare, and Labor, so please email the committee members right away and let them know that you want them to support this desperately needed bill:

    Senator Missy Irvin, Chair
    Senator Dave Wallace, Vice-Chair
    Senator Scott Flippo
    Senator Ricky Hill
    Senator Greg Leding
    Senator Fredrick J. Love
    Senator John Payton
    Senator Clint Penzo

    Missy.Irvin@senate.ar.gov
    dave.wallace@senate.ar.gov
    Scott.Flippo@senate.ar.gov
    Ricky.Hill@Senate.ar.gov
    greg.leding@senate.ar.gov
    fred.love@senate.ar.gov
    john.payton@senate.ar.gov
    clint.penzo@senate.ar.gov

In closing, please help protect access to this essential drug!

We are asking that this bill please be passed out of committee.

Stay tuned for more information regarding Ivermectin.

    UPDATE: Over-the-Counter Ivermectin Bill
    March 1, 2025
    https://securetherepublic.com/arkans...ermectin-bill/

(This email newsletter is for Arkansans, but it is also an update for many other states which are moving toward making Ivermectin available. and in some cases, without a prescription.)

"The over-the-counter (OTC) Ivermectin bill for Arkansas, SB189, is moving through the Senate nicely and is scheduled for a lot of action on Monday, March 3, 2025. Senator Alan Clark has said that after the Senate Chamber gets through that afternoon, they will take the bill to the Senate Public Health Committee around 2:30pm. (Right now, there is nothing showing on the schedule for a 2:30 meeting. It only shows “Senate Chamber”.)

As of February 24, 2025, this bill has undergone multiple amendments and had been re-referred to the Senate Public Health, Welfare, and Labor Committee for further consideration.

Here is Arkansas’ complete history of the Ivermectin bill for you to follow, and the bill has picked up many great sponsors along the way.

Secure Arkansas wanted to dive in and do a little more research for you so you can see for yourself that Ivermectin legislation is wanted all across the country!

We are witnessing empowered legislative efforts which truly reflect a broader national trend which cry out for access to OTC Ivermectin. The lawmakers hear us: they are people in need of care and solutions, too.

Here are states that ploughed through early with legislation on Ivermectin:

New Hampshire – became one of the first states to pass a law allowing pharmacists to dispense Ivermectin without a prescription under a “standing order” system. Sadly, June 24, 2022, Governor Chris Sununu vetoed HB 1022.

Tennessee – passed SB2188, a similar law allowing pharmacists to provide Ivermectin without a doctor’s prescription. In 2022, Governor Lee signed SB 2188 into law. Ivermectin can now be purchased through participating pharmacists without a traditional prescription.

Nebraska – Their state attorney general issued an opinion stating that doctors can prescribe Ivermectin without fear of losing their medical licenses, though it’s not fully OTC.

Missouri – passed laws protecting doctors and pharmacists who prescribe or dispense Ivermectin.

Other states with bills in 2025 – These states are considering or proposing equivalent laws. This year, they have seen legislative efforts aimed at making Ivermectin more accessible without a prescription, though not all have passed yet:

Missouri – bills newly introduced in 2025 — SB 744 and HB 1448 — which seek OTC sale of Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine without a prescription or consultation with healthcare professionals. On February 26, 2025, the Missouri House has approved HB 1448 OTC sale of Ivermectin and Hydroxychoroquine.

Oklahoma – Introduced legislation — SB426 and HB1239 — supporting OTC access and limiting medical board investigations into doctors prescribing it. They seek to categorize Chloroquine, Hydroxychloroquine, and Ivermectin as OTC medications, thereby prohibiting pharmacists from requiring prescriptions for these drugs.

South Carolina – H3916 and H4042 — seek to allow the public to purchase Ivermectin without a prescription. H3916 sought to permit the OTC sale of both Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine tablets without the need for a prescription.

Georgia – In February 2025, Georgia State Senator Colton Moore sent out a message saying, “Georgia, we need Ivermectin over the counter, too! Getting bill drafted…”

Kentucky – HB668 proposes creating a new section in KRS Chapter 218A to allow the sale or purchase of Ivermectin approved for human use without requiring a prescription or consultation with a practitioner.

Pennsylvania – On February 14, 2025, State Senator Doug Mastriano announced plans to introduce legislation allowing Ivermectin to be available OTC in Pennsylvania. He emphasized that this initiative aims to “cut red tape, expand access, and empower individuals to manage their health without unnecessary delays.”

North Dakota – SB 2388, aiming to permit the over-the-counter sale of Ivermectin without a prescription. This bill failed to get out of committee so far.

Texas – HB 3175 and HB 3219. HB3175 this bill proposes that the Commissioner of State Health Services issue a statewide order authorizing licensed pharmacists to dispense Ivermectin without requiring a prescription from a healthcare practitioner. HB3219 seeks to authorize pharmacists to dispense Ivermectin without a prescription, aligning with the objectives of HB 3175.

Arkansas – SB189 aims to permit the over-the-counter (OTC) sale of Ivermectin for human use without a prescription or consultation with a healthcare professional.

States that have considered past measures to allow OTC sales of Ivermectin but did not move forward (and new legislation for 2025 needs to be proposed to remedy this):

Kansas – HB2126 — SB173 introduced in 2023 and 2024, but did not move forward. Also, they considered hydroxychloroquine tablets without a prescription, too.

Arizona – SB1416 was introduced in 2022, with the aim of mandating pharmacists to dispense Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine.

Alaska – HB383 introduced in 2022; the bill sought to remove Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine from the state’s definition of prescription drugs.

Louisiana – HB312 was introduced in 2024 but did not move forward, so hopefully in 2025, we will get to see new legislation there.

As you can see, states have become very active regarding this issue and thus will give us more freedom to access Ivermectin without unnecessary restrictions.

    Ivermectin (IVM):

is an antiparasitic drug, but it has a wide range of biological applications.

was approved by USFDA in 2015 and made available as a generic medicine.

was registered for human use in 1987.

Doctors around the world have used this safe Nobel Prize-Winning Medication to save a countless number of lives!

The United States can make these helpful pharmaceutical drugs, such as Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine, in our own country!

    Let’s start doing that!

Bill to allow over-the-counter ivermectin sales passes committee
    March 13, 2025 at 5:25 PM CDT
A bill to allow Arkansans to purchase ivermectin over-the-counter passed a legislative committee Thursday. The bill does not mandate the use of the drug, but instead allows stores to sell it if they choose.

Ivermectin is used across the world to treat parasitic infections, though it is rarely prescribed by doctors in the United States. Recently, the drug has been utilized in underground treatment of COVID-19.

Science has almost universally shown the drug to be ineffective at treating the condition. The FDA recommends caution when taking Ivermectin, especially with other drugs. One BBC report detailed medical fabrications and outright fraud in 26 studies into the drug.

Rep. Mary Bentley, R-Perryville, presented the bill Thursday. She said she was motivated to support it after doctors would not prescribe the drug to her father at the end of his life.

“Pop had diabetes and some other things,” she said. “We put him in the VA. I begged for him to receive ivermectin and mitochondrial antibodies, which he received none of.”

She says her father died two days later, while her mother who was also sick stayed home and consumed ivermectin “and she just came through fine.”

Bentley said Tylenol, the regularly used over-the-counter painkiller, has a far higher rate of overdose deaths. This was a point also made by Sen. Alan Clark, R-Lonsdale, when the bill was in a Senate committee. Tylenol is far more commonly used than ivermectin.

Bentley also made the repeated argument that the drug is already being used underground, as it is available at agricultural supply stores for veterinary use.

Democratic Rep. Stephen Magie, who would later vote against the bill, said:

“It's certainly better that if someone is going to take this, they take the human form instead of going to the co-op.”

He still thought the bill left the drug too unregulated.

“If you're going to take a drug your pharmacist needs to be the one that sits there and talks to you about potential side effects,” he said.

Repeatedly throughout the meeting, legislators would incorrectly claim the drug received the Nobel Peace Prize. The 2015 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine went to the scientists who discovered the drug, though they won for finding a parasite treatment, not for anything related COVID-19.

Bentley brought along a witness, Brock Thompson. He regularly described himself as being “in the medical field.” When asked by Magie to introduce himself again, Thompson said he is a “regular guy” before admitting he is not a doctor.

“I've just seen some studies,” he said.

Thompson said he worked for 16 years in medical device sales, though he never “touched” patients.

He talked about the case of Dr. Mary Bowden, a Texas doctor who was suspended and later resigned for promoting ivermectin.

Thompson said she cured “6,000 patients” with the drug, though Little Rock Public Radio found no evidence to prove this.

The bill passed on a voice vote and now heads to the full House for consideration.
