Hitchcock's "Psycho" may seem an unlikely candidate for this thread, but not if you consider that the new Netflix movie (entitled "Psycho") is starring Anthony Hopkins as "Hitch" and Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma.
Like most Hollywood marriages I expect, theirs apparently had a third partner, which was the film-making industry of Hollywood itself.
But it's essentially a love story and the ending was uplifting.
There's an excellent, very detailed article about the making of the original movie here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psycho_%281960_film%29
Some quotes from the article follow.

It's difficult to understand the impact "Psycho" had and the controversy it caused back in 1960 when it was released, if you haven't actually seen it.
It was a huge groundbreaker and so well done by Hitchcock and team that it left lasting impressions on countless audiences at the time, and its reputation stood the test of time.
"Entertainment Weekly voted it the 11th Greatest film of all time in 1999. In January 2002, the film was included on the list of the "Top 100 Essential Films of All Time" by the National Society of Film Critics. The film was included in Time's All-Time 100 best movies list in 2005. In 2005, Total Film magazine ranked Psycho as the 6th-greatest horror film of all time. In 2010, The Guardian newspaper ranked it as "the best horror film of all time". "

I never quite forgave my parents for taking me along with them to a drive-in theatre to see it when I was about 13 years old.
I had nightmares for weeks afterward due to the murder in the famous shower scene, as no doubt many people did.

"It is often claimed that, despite its graphic nature, the shower scene never once shows a knife puncturing flesh. However, a frame by frame analysis of the sequence shows one shot in which the knife appears to penetrate Leigh's abdomen, an effect created through lighting and reverse motion. Leigh herself was so affected by this scene when she saw it that she no longer took showers unless she absolutely had to; she would lock all the doors and windows and would leave the bathroom and shower door open.[94] She never realized until she first watched the film "how vulnerable and defenseless one is"."

The new film about "Psycho" is just as much about the making of the classic film as it is about the relationship between Hitchcock and his wife Alma, who was very instrumental in the making of the 1960 classic.
Hopkins and Mirren do a great job of showing the subtle nuances of their relationship, and it's an interesting glimpse into the personality of one of moviemaking's icons.

If you can suspend your distaste for what has become of Stephen King and Mark Hamill, this was actually pretty good. Since King was responsible for Shawshank and Stand by Me, decided to give it a chance. Done in the same narrative voice, most will find some worthy moments that resonate. Cue the soundtrack and add a little Walt Whitman and enjoy.
