Post The entry of Soviet troops into Czechoslovakia in 1968, Prague Spring, Operation Danube.

    Part 1

The entry of Soviet troops into Czechoslovakia in 1968, Prague Spring, Operation Danube.

I decided to publish an article from the Russian side and what the Russian side says about this, because many foreign documentary videos say that at this historical moment, the Russians are the aggressors. We do not agree with this. So I collected information about what Russian comrades say among themselves. I have seen many foreign videos that say that the Russians were aggressive, which I also cannot agree with, because this information is false. The introduction of troops into Czechoslovakia was a forced extreme measure. I wrote an article for those who are interested in history and want to know the truth. Not everyone will be able to understand it. It is divided into 3 parts, so it is very large. But you will definitely not find this information anywhere except on the Russian side.

On the night of August 21, 1968, the Eastern Bloc countries carried out Operation Danube. That is, they decided on an extreme measure - introducing their troops into Czechoslovakia.

And yes, by the way, it wasn't just the USSR that brought its armed forces into Czechoslovakia. But also other Warsaw Pact countries - Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, GDR.... A total of about 500 thousand soldiers with 6,300 thousand tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. (The Warsaw Pact (Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance), signed on May 14, 1955, included eight countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, the GDR, Poland, Romania, Czechoslovakia and the creator of this union - the USSR, with its control center in Moscow.)

The GDR army, one of the best in the socialist camp, stood, as they say, on guard. And prepared to repel an external American attack, if NATO and America suddenly dared to interfere in the situation.

The Truth About the 1968 Czechoslovak Uprising. From the Trans-Siberian Railway Rebels to Soviet Tanks in Prague

For many decades we cherished the illusion that the European nations were complaining pitifully under the oppression of the Nazi invaders, that they, poor and losing their last strength, were fighting fiercely against the Nazi occupiers and wishing with every fiber of their souls for the victory of the Soviet people. During the days of the Great Victory, we consoled ourselves with the fact that all of Europe was gratefully saying words of prayer for our soldiers-liberators. We made films about this and thereby convinced ourselves of the internationalism of the peoples of Europe, who were selflessly imbued with true love for the working people of the Soviet Union. As a result, while we were living in these ephemeral fantasies, grateful Europeans managed to portray us as invaders and torturers, almost as accomplices of Hitler's Nazism. In any case, they managed to ascribe to us the same guilt for inciting the Second World War and responsibility for the plundering of Europe as to the Third Reich.

On July 3, 1942, the largest gathering of Czechs in history, 200,000 people came to Wenceslas Square to pledge allegiance to Hitler

The moment has come when it is vitally necessary for us to wake up once and for all from these delusional fantasies and begin to look with a sober gaze at our partners from near and far abroad. In this hybrid war imposed on us, we must finally begin to fight for the truth in history.

Czechs and Slovaks – Slavic Brothers?!..
From time immemorial, playing “Slavic brothers”, and then “proletarian brothers”, has cost us a very high price, and the result is a knife in the back! The word “Slavic brothers” in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is still used only when they are in anticipation of some kind of gift from Russia.

1968. Czechoslovakia. The city of Liberec. A Soviet tank lost control; сzech sniper shot the soviet driver.

In the language of any generation since the 60s that has imagined itself an intellectual, the topic of the "Prague Spring" has inevitably come up. The conversation has inevitably turned to the inhumane attitude of the Soviet Union towards the small freedom-loving Czechoslovakia. Even today, you can hear from youth the same cliched set of words that they have been repeating like mantras from the last century. The rotten intelligentsia of the 60s, and and youth 90s, brought up on the "Freedom" idiot box, still live by the motto that corrupts society: "I love my country and hate the state."

It is disgusting to hear how the democratic crowd, imagining itself the salt of the earth, periodically talks about the "Prague Spring", crushed by Soviet tanks. And numerous foreign documentaries never stop talking about this.

I can't wait to find out - does the "progressive" public know how in the summer of 1918 heavily armed Czechoslovak punitive forces fought on the Volga, in Siberia, in the Urals and in the Far East? How they exterminated thousands of peaceful Russian people?

To understand how Soviet tanks ended up in Prague, of course, it is necessary to make small excursions into history. With your permission, I will do this periodically. So!..

57 years ago (the article was written in 2025), troops from FIVE socialist states entered Czechoslovakia: the USSR, Poland, the GDR, Bulgaria and Hungary. It was on this day, August 21, 1968, that the so-called "Prague Spring", the process of change in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, came to an end. By a sly twist of fate, this happened 30 years after the Munich Agreement had given Czechoslovakia to Hitler to devour, along with the world's largest weapons factories. Thus, Great Britain and France decided to arm the rapidly growing European monster. Several countries tore apart defenseless Czechoslovakia, Germany, Hungary and Poland.

The division of Czechoslovakia according to the Munich Agreement, 1938.
The Sudetenland was given to Germany - it is yellow
Cieszyn Silesia was given to Poland - it is green
Transcarpathia was given to Hungary - it is red

At the same time, the best line of defense in Europe, the best-armed army in Europe, without a single shot silently lay down under the boot of a German soldier, instantly and easily crossing themselves in the new Nazi faith, began to increase the production of weapons for the Third Reich at a rapid pace. It should be noted that Czechoslovakia was not completely defenseless. Who do you think was ready to come to its aid? Of course, you guessed right, and again it was our Soviet Union, but the government of Czechoslovakia refused, since all their guts had long been sold.

Residents of the Czech town of Aš greet German troops with great joy.

It would be appropriate to recall here that on the Eastern Front, namely in the USSR, in the Wehrmacht army, in the SS and Luftwaffe units, over 500,000 harmless volunteers from Bohemia and Moravia fought. At the same time, 69,977 failed new Russian landowners were resting in captivity with grandfather Stalin.

Meanwhile, at a rapid pace, Czechoslovakia increased its military output TWICE. A third of all Wehrmacht weapons were branded Czech. Never before or since that time had workers in military factories lived so happily, received such high wages and bonuses, the benefits that had already become customary for them, increased rations and traditional trips to resorts and sanatoriums. It is worth noting that during the entire war period, not a single case of sabotage or subversion was recorded at Czech factories.

Thousands of Soviet tank crews burned in their T-34s from the fire of these Hetzer tank destroyers, created by conscientious Czech engineers and workers.

More about how the Czechs fought and worked like Stakhanovites for Nazi Germany during the war, if you tell me, I can create an article. To put it bluntly, all of Europe worked for Nazi Germany. But I'm talking about the Czechs now.

Let's turn back the clock a little bit and remember how the "brave soldiers" committed atrocities along the entire Trans-Siberian Railway from the Volga to the Far East. Few people remember, but the Czechoslovak rebellion actually lit the fire of the Civil War and foreign intervention in Russia. Historical science has proven that if it were not for the rebellion of the Czechoslovak Corps, the Civil War and especially the intervention would have been simply impossible. Let me remind you that between 11 and 14 million people died during that hard time. How many of them are on the conscience of the Czechs and Slovaks, the humane history of Russia is still silent, but the fact that these victims could not have happened at all or would have been much smaller is undoubtedly true.

The Czechs sent everyone who was suspected of having ties to the Bolsheviks to the "death train", where they kept prisoners for weeks without food or water. The Czechs dealt with the Bolsheviks very cruelly, putting them in the holds of barges and pouring chlorine lime on them from above. It is worth noting that the Czechs brought more than 600 trains with looted junk to Vladivostok. The fate of the tsar's gold stolen by the Czechoslovaks requires special attention.

Monument to Czechoslovak legionnaires in Mikhaylovka, tiles covered in red paint on the day of the Czech delegation's arrival.

After the defeat of the White Guards beyond the Urals, the Czechoslovak Corps took Kolchak (the commander-in-chief of the Russian army, loyal to Tsarist Russia) and the gold of the Russian Empire under its protection. When the partisans blocked the railway to Vladivostok, the Czechoslovaks easily gave them Admiral Kolchak in exchange for free passage. Thus, part of the gold reserves of the empire went to the Czechoslovak bandits. Upon the return of these "golden boys" to their homeland, the Czechoslovak state was organized for the first time, and it was precisely the gold of the Russian Empire that contributed to this. It should be noted that the Czechs had never had their own state before. Throughout their history, the Czechs were under someone, sometimes under the German tribes, sometimes under the Roman Empire, sometimes under the Austrian, and then under the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

The whole drama of this situation is that the population with national feelings was given sovereignty on a platter for some unknown reason, which they do not really need. Well, what is given for free is never valued at all. The reason for the defeat of the "brave soldiers" is not the betrayal in Munich, but their complete lack of desire for national independence.

    Hot August
How did the events of that August remain in the historical memory of Russian citizens? How do they interpret and evaluate them today in the times of information wars and color revolutions?

According to the investigation published yesterday by Canadian journalist Mark MacKinnon, it is said:

"A color revolution, as most Western researchers agree today, is a special case of a geopolitical redivision of the world by means of a coup d'etat, in which the decisive role is played by an organization, disguised from outside the putsch as a national liberation or democratic movement. The goal is the destruction of the national state and the establishment of external control in its place."

We have now witnessed a whole series of so-called color revolutions that took place in Ukraine, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Kazakhstan. But there was the first series of such revolutions after Stalin's death, or more precisely after Nikita Khrushchev's speech at the 20th Congress of the CPSU.

These are the events in Poland, Hungary and, of course, Czechoslovakia. The events in Czechoslovakia were not as bloody as the events in Hungary, but they were significant. In Hungary and Poland, it was something like a trial run, while in Czechoslovakia it was already a carefully prepared serious propaganda campaign.

Surely, the idea of putting an external factor in the foreground in the so-called "Prague Spring" would have inexpressibly outraged its instigators. However, the recently released joint editorial board of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs collection of documents "Czechoslovak Events of 1968 through the Eyes of the KGB and the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs" contains many declassified documents that shed light on events that happened more than 50 years ago. The super-task of the collection, we quote:

"to illuminate the carefully planned and coordinated expansion of Western intelligence services against the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, which they viewed as a "weak link" in the strategic paradigm of the Eastern bloc"

"The Czechoslovakian events of 1968 through the eyes of the KGB and the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs."

The documents in this book show that the events in Czechoslovakia were a well-planned action by Western intelligence agencies, with Austria, the United States of America and West Germany in the lead. At one time, the former head of West German intelligence, Reinhard Gehlen, openly admitted that Czechoslovakia was alarming Western countries because it was so solidary with the Soviet Union that it was becoming its younger sister. In the 1960s, a large number of international organizations were concentrated in Czechoslovakia. For example, Figaro expressed concerns that Czechoslovakia could soon become a third Comintern. And the press close to the Pentagon openly stated that at that time Czechoslovakia could become both a barrier for the West and a corridor that would quickly lead the armed forces of Western countries to the borders of the Soviet Union. Czechoslovakia was the most prosperous of the socialist countries. Full shelves of goods in the shops. When Soviet tourists came and looked at this abundance, some felt sick at the butcher shops when they saw 18 types of sausages sold there. But the Czechs thought it was not enough! It seems that they simply, as they say in our country: "They got too greedy!"

There is nothing more terrible than an angry peasant.

    1968 Prague. Czech versus tank.

Look at this Czech, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next second this pipe flies out from under the tank roller and injures him. That's how most of these madmen died in Prague, out of stupidity, carelessness, accident.

The Russians did not open fire on the civilian population. Not a single shot was fired.

The events in Czechoslovakia in 1968 had the effect of a bomb exploding in many countries, but every surprise has its own prehistory. The origins of these events can be found not only in the domestic political situation in the spring and summer of 1968, but also much earlier, say, back in 1948.

With the rise to power of the communists in 1948, there was practically no emigration from Czechoslovakia and all those who voluntarily participated in the "Crusade to the East" remained in it and lived and worked. As soon as party control was weakened after the events of January 1968, when Alexander Dubcek was elected First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia instead of Antonin Novotny, from that moment on, events in Czechoslovakia began to develop on two levels.

Left: Antonin Josef Novotny – President of Czechoslovakia in 1957-1968, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in 1953-1968. Right: Alexander Dubcek – First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in January 1968 – April 1969 – the main initiator of the reform course known as the Prague Spring.

Since 1967, the confrontation between progressives and conservatives in the ruling circles of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic has intensified. For both, the new first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia was a neutral figure.

    SOVIET UNION
In 1968, the USSR was on the rise, bread lines had disappeared, and the battle for corn had also gone into oblivion. In 1964, hockey became very fashionable in the USSR, as in Czechoslovakia, and our attacking trio of Aleksandrov, Almetov, and Loktev shone. In the same 1964, at the white Olympics in Innsbruck, the USSR team brought gold to their country.

The attacking trio of the USSR national team: Aleksandrov, Almetov, Loktev.

During these years, life expectancy was the highest in the history of our country. Preparations were underway to develop the world's largest oil and gas deposits. A generation of true front-line soldiers came to power in large and small offices.

The 20th anniversary of the Great Victory was celebrated in the USSR for the first time, and from that moment on, this holiday was celebrated annually. For the first time, a "minute of silence" was announced on television and radio in memory of those who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. But tangible achievements did not come without serious problems. Certain contradictions emerged in the socialist camp.

    Rebels
At that time, a rather difficult economic situation had developed in Czechoslovakia, but how could the opponents of the socialist camp not take advantage of it? The workers' discontent with the new reform proposed by the Czechoslovak government. Disagreements began among the intelligentsia. A particularly pernicious role was played by the huge number of emigrants who had begun to flock to Czechoslovakia by that time. The "Club 231" also contributed to this, with its leaders directly stating: "the best communist is a dead communist."

Leonid Brezhnev and Alexander Dubcek. January 1968.

Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CC CPSU), Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (PSS USSR). Years of life December 6 (19), 1906 - November 10, 1982. Years of Leonid Brezhnev's rule in the USSR - from October 14, 1964 to November 10, 1982. He held the post of leader of the USSR from 1964 to 1982. (In simple terms, the leader of the USSR is like the president in the country)

Before choosing Dubcek, General Secretary Leonid Brezhnev personally came to Prague in January 1968. He spent the whole day talking with each of the eleven members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, with some very briefly, with Alexander Dubcek for several hours, then it became clear that the choice had been made.

It was not the worst choice. Dubcek had lived in the Soviet Union for 17 years, spoke excellent Russian. He treated the Soviet Union, so to speak, with an emphatically friendly attitude. Friendliness and openness, compliance and meekness, Dubcek was bribed, Brezhnev liked it, but the Western intelligence services liked it even more.

The leadership of Czechoslovakia, which came to power 8 months ago, announced new innovations and changes in the country almost every day. Society in the country was seething and, of course, the sweet-voiced talkers rose above all, as always.

The reformer Dubček and his associates poured sweet molasses into the ears of the people: "We are trying to create socialism with a human face."

As it became known in the Kremlin, the plans of this hopcompany also included dividing the Czech Republic and Slovakia, declaring freedom of speech, granting the right to private property, opening the borders, and returning Czechoslovakia to a bourgeois republic. Thus began the Czechoslovak thaw - the "Prague Spring." Now the Soviet Union began to keep a closer eye on the Prague rascals.

Left: Nicolae Ceausescu – General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Romanian Communist Party since 1965. Right: János Kádár – General Secretary of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party; in 1956-1958 and 1961-1965. The period of his rule, marked by the liberalization of political life and the availability of consumer goods, today a significant part of Hungarian society feels nostalgia for the "Kádár era" with its high standard and quality of life.

A whole movement emerged to turn Czechoslovakia into a neutral country, so that Czechoslovakia would declare its neutrality and withdraw from the Warsaw Pact. Such a policy could not but irritate the Soviet leadership. Most of the leaders of the Warsaw Pact countries claimed that a counterrevolution was taking place in Czechoslovakia, the Communist Party did not govern the country, but the Head of Romania Nicolae Ceausescu was against interference in the affairs of Czechoslovakia. The leader of Hungary, Janos Kadar, also believed that Dubcek himself was capable of dealing with the growing crisis without outside intervention, especially military. Kadar remembered very well the events of 1956, when Soviet troops suppressed a fascist rebellion in Hungary, and several thousand people died.

*About the brutal truth of the fascist rebellion in Hungary, if you tell me I will make an article

On the streets of Prague. A Czech shouts at a Soviet soldier, saying everything he thinks, trying to provoke him.

The situation in Czechoslovakia was heating up, but at the same time the Western intelligence services were also quite active. An order was sent to the residency of most Western countries, NATO member states, to pay special attention to the developments in Czechoslovakia, while at the same time a very intense information war was unfolding.

All these years the West and its fifth column constantly reminded first the Soviet Union, and then Russia, of the introduction of troops into the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. As always, they skillfully incriminated totalitarianism, imperialism, the absence of democratic freedoms, and insisted on repentance before the offended Czechoslovaks.

    Spy arsenal.

We must give credit to the operational staff of the SGB (State Security Service) of Czechoslovakia, they literally caught foreign spies in droves every day, who became even more active just before the events in Czechoslovakia began.

Many alternative public radio stations emerged. It got to the point that some radio transmitters broadcasting against the government of Czechoslovakia were operating from the territory of the Czechoslovak Foreign Ministry. The USSR counterintelligence recorded one of such a radio station in the immediate vicinity of the USSR embassy in Prague. Everything was aimed at stirring up the already heated public opinion in the country.

In February 1968, Leonid Brezhnev came to Prague. He spoke at a rally in front of tens of thousands of people on Old Town Square. Speaking about the changes in the political, economic and cultural life of Czechoslovakia, he said: "This is your business!"

    Leonid Brezhnev's visit to Prague.

Later, this very phrase, but already applied to the Soviet troops, was replicated on posters and city walls. Brezhnev did not want military intervention, he insisted to the last on a diplomatic, peaceful resolution of the conflict. Leonid Ilyich was nervous, the first problems with sleep began, the dose of sleeping pills increased.

Brezhnev was very worried about the "Czech events", suddenly at a Politburo meeting he fell, everyone rushed to him in fear, pulled him closer to the window, thought that he had a cerebral hemorrhage, but it turned out that he had taken quite a lot of sleeping pills and simply fell asleep on the go.

Until April 1968, the party elite of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia practiced their favorite thing, distributing chairs and portfolios, and the order of affairs in the country was left to its own devices.

The most interesting thing is that the events in Czechoslovakia are similar to the events in the USSR 20 years later. In both places, a weak leadership came to power, which wanted to do something, but could not show will. People who turned out to be opponents of the socialist system ended up in the leadership.

At the Dresden meeting of the Warsaw Pact countries on March 23, 1968, Dubcek began to guiltily explain the situation in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic to all the leaders of the socialist countries. In general, he was able to calm them down.

But in a secret notice sent by the Central Committee of the CPSU to the party activists of the Warsaw Pact, it was openly stated that the situation in Czechoslovakia could lead to a change of regime in the country and turn the country into a capitalist state.

The first to clearly formulate the situation in Czechoslovakia was the leader of the GDR Walter Ulbricht:

"The CPC is losing power, and everything that is happening in the country is part of the global American and West German strategy aimed at destroying socialism"

Walter Ulbricht, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany in 1950-1971, played a significant role in the formation of the GDR, its separation and isolation from the FRG, and was the initiator of the construction of the Berlin Wall.

In turn, Brezhnev, who still favored Dubcek, convinced the leaders of the socialist countries of his loyalty, declaring: "I believe Sasha!" However, the leadership of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was losing control of the situation with each passing day.

Of course, there were material problems related to freedom of movement, censorship, but they were not strong enough to cause serious public unrest. Yes, there were large infusions of money from abroad. And then foreign propagandists took advantage of this:

"We are bringing you freedom, you will be independent, your culture will develop and everything else."

    Remark:
As we now see, this "freedom and culture" expresses the basest values of man, such as LGBT, violence, fornication and lust... this list can go on and on... and walk around with a bare ass...

Left: Wladyslaw Gomulka – First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party. Right: Todor Zhivkov – General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Bulgarian Communist Party. Among the leaders of the former socialist countries of the Eastern bloc, he remained in power longer than anyone else.

In late May, the leaders of the socialist countries began to openly talk about a forceful solution to the issue in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. The leader of Poland, Vladislav Gomulka, spoke about the need to disperse the Soviet contingent on the territory of Czechoslovakia, and the leader of Bulgaria, Todor Zhivkov, spoke in favor of a complete change of the government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic. But as always, the last word remained with the Soviet Union, whose ruling circles were still waiting for something, trying to settle everything by political means, continuing to rely on Dubcek and his team, who had already openly begun to play a double game. The leadership of Czechoslovakia did not believe that the USSR would agree to introduce troops. They believed that some repetition of the events in Hungary would frighten the Soviet leadership and openly played on this, not even bothering to somehow veil this blackmail. The impudence of the Czechoslovak leadership was astonishing. The leadership of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic believed that it was in complete control of the situation and that no one else would interfere. At the last negotiations in Čierné nad Tisou they behaved defiantly, stood up and silently left the negotiating table. They declared that they would not return to Soviet territory, and Brezhnev had to walk to them in a train car, humiliate himself and persuade them.

Leonid Brezhnev, members of the CPSU Central Committee and Alexander Dubchek.

The Soviet Union representatives, having obtained a promise from the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic leadership to follow a socialist course during the negotiations, gave the Czechoslovaks the go-ahead to continue reforms. The Soviet leadership, however, made concessions to both the centrists and the progressives, wishing to avoid a forceful solution to the issue at any cost, even having an ace up its sleeve, knowing that there was a fairly impressive group within the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia ready to overthrow Dubcek and his company at any moment.

On August 3, 19 prominent party leaders secretly sent Brezhnev a letter asking for military assistance against Dubcek. It was proposed to remove him by August 19.

However, Moscow rejected a forced change of power, trusting the assurances given during the negotiations by the Czechoslovak side. Rumors began to spread in Prague and throughout the country about the inevitable support of Western countries in the event of an escalation. Apparently our brothers, the Slovaks and Czechs, have forgotten how the West, while inciting bloody events in Hungary, at a certain point cold-bloodedly abandoned the torn-apart country to its fate.

The Czechs and Slovaks are silent now, but there was a big fuss back then. Why did the West betray Czechoslovakia?!.. The question was about big politics. No one was going to organize a Third World War because of the Czechoslovaks. Although if the Americans had managed to tear the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic out of the Warsaw Pact, they would have gladly done so for it. I don’t think they would have gotten into the war, but they would have organized a long-term, constantly heated hot spot in the center of Europe. This would have created a corridor to the borders of the USSR, which could have been used to the fullest extent.

Ludvik Svoboda – General of the Army of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, President of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in 1968-1975, three times Hero of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, Hero of the Soviet Union, People's Hero of Yugoslavia.

The Chekists learned about the secret resolution developed by the US Council of Special Estimates on the situation in Czechoslovakia, which prescribed how the Western powers should act if the USSR and its allies nevertheless brought in troops.

At one of the closed sessions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, Ludvik Svoboda said bitterly:

"For me, these days were the hardest in my life."

After it became known that Czechoslovakia was allowed to go its own way during the negotiations, while remaining in the socialist camp, well-organized demonstrations in the country increased sharply. The participants called on the country's leadership to take a tougher course towards the USSR to neutralize Czechoslovakia. Anti-communist slogans were heard more and more often and louder.

    Alexander Dubcek welcomes another demonstration.

Janos Kadar, a man respected in Czechoslovakia, agreed to talk to Dubcek. Kadar explained to Dubcek in a fairly polite manner that if the situation in the country did not change, a forceful scenario would be used to resolve the issue. This was the last verbal warning, but Dubcek did not want to understand or believe it. A few hours later, Dubcek opened the envelope in which Brezhnev warned him to abandon his plan and sit down at the negotiating table again. Dubcek never responded. Apparently, he understood very well that the flywheel had been turned and there was no way back.

Remark: Why am I describing the whole situation in such detail, in the smallest details? Firstly, so that you can get a fairly complete picture. Secondly, so that you can feel for yourself how petty political leaders have become. It is hard to imagine Stalin following someone into a train car to persuade them. Although only a few years have passed. The mistakes of some leaders have easily turned into a tragedy for an entire nation.

Declassified documents show one thing: the Soviet leadership was very reluctant to resort to extraordinary measures. They tried to persuade Dubcek and company more than once, there were at least four meetings, not counting the general meetings of the Warsaw Pact member states.

    Part 2

This day will divide the Czechs into friends and foes
On August 18, in an atmosphere of strict secrecy, the leadership of the Soviet Union signed a decree on the launch of Operation Danube on August 21, the introduction of a limited contingent of troops from FIVE socialist states into the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic: the USSR, Poland, the GDR, Bulgaria and Hungary.

Few people know that Operation Danube was preceded by Operation Bridgehead, conducted by special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR.

Exclusive photo. The beginning of Operation Beachhead, in the background is a plane from which paratroopers have just landed and are already installing a gun.

    From the General Staff archive:
On August 20, 1968, GRU special forces landed to seize the airport in Prague. Only after the successful completion of Operation Beachhead by the GRU special forces, the general military operation Danube began, introducing troops into the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.

The GRU fighters were transported to Czechoslovakia by a regular Il-62. The navigator of the Soviet passenger airliner, due to an emergency situation on board, asked the Czech air traffic controller for an emergency landing. The ground cleared the forced landing. Turning off the engines served as a signal for the special forces to act; the fighters jumped out of the plane and rushed to seize key airport services. The control tower and all airfield security were neutralized in a matter of minutes. The air harbor of the capital of Czechoslovakia was captured in ten minutes. After some time, the airport was already successfully receiving special flights from the 7th Airborne Division.

Soviet planes landed troops at Prague airport.

At the same time, the other special forces groups that had arrived in Prague the day before were also operating in no less sophisticated ways. They also easily, without firing a single shot, took control of radio and telephone stations, television, took full control of the editorial offices of magazines and newspapers, as well as all key objects in Prague. At dawn on August 21, a group of GRU special forces penetrated the residence of the Communist Party of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, where after a while they greeted the participants of the meeting of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic with a smile. Alexander Dubcek and several of his comrades were arrested by officers of the State Security Service of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and handed over to representatives of the Soviet Union.

As a result of the highly professional actions of the special forces of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR, the capital of Czechoslovakia was taken under full control within 10 hours.

Soviet paratroopers blocked the building of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia in Prague.

At the end of the day, on August 20 at 22:15, the code message "Vltava" thundered from all military loudspeakers of the joint group of Warsaw Pact forces, thus, under the general command of Army General I.G. Pavlovsky, the introduction of troops into Czechoslovakia began. Operation Danube became the largest-scale strategic military operation conducted after the Second World War.

At three o'clock in the morning from 20 to 21, Soviet soldiers crossed the Danube. That same night, several more Soviet divisions crossed the border of Czechoslovakia, as well as troops from Poland, the GDR, Hungary and Bulgaria. In a matter of hours, more than 200 thousand soldiers and 5 thousand tanks of friendly states occupied all the major cities of Czechoslovakia. White stripes were painted on the tanks, this is how they distinguished their own.

Soviet tanks near the Central Committee of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic.

    Remark:
I was very impressed by the documents that show the role of the Czechoslovakian secret services in these events. The top of the Czechoslovakian secret service was completely rotten, but the backbone of all the services fully cooperated with the Soviet secret services even before the troops were brought in.

On August 21 at 3 a.m. on the radio, enemy voices broadcasting from abroad, sounded a call throughout Czechoslovakia: everyone go out into the streets to protest by all possible means against the occupation. "Not a crumb of bread for the occupiers, not a sip of water."

The main events unfolded in Prague. General Kosenko, who led the 35th Motorized Rifle Division, received orders to occupy the bridges over the Vltava River, the General Staff, the building of the Central Committee of the Party, the television center and the radio.

Soviet soldiers on the streets of Prague.

The Czechoslovak army did not offer resistance, but shots were heard from time to time in different parts of Prague. Careful advance preparation was felt. The townspeople had small arms and Molotov cocktails, which they threw at the tanks.

Look at them, brave Czech young men took off all the clothes of a woman, stripped her naked in front of her two small sons, doused her with red paint and are taking her to a lynch court. She is guilty that her husband, a Czech soldier, did not shoot at Soviet soldiers, and most importantly, that she is from the Soviet Union.

Valentina Belas. Victim of the Czechoslovak rebellion.

On August 21, 1968, a radio station broadcasting from abroad addressed the citizens and told them what methods they needed to use to fight. It asked them to act cunningly, for example, to remove signs with the names of cities, villages and streets. And by the way, all of Czechoslovakia did this. This move by the rebels somewhat disoriented the Warsaw Pact troops, but not for long. The entire Czech Republic was glued to their radios, which was the main source of information. Foreign intelligence took advantage of this and skillfully managed the course of the rebellion.

Young rebels try to block the tank's path with a tree.

They climb under the tank themselves. That's how, in most cases, young people died out of stupidity during the riot in Prague.

The population of Prague, mainly the youth, blocked the streets, built rubble, and from the upper floors the Soviet soldiers threw stones and Molotov cocktails. At first glance, the youth started holding harmless flags. As it turned out later, the flag had a sharpened pike at one end, which easily penetrated tank fuel tanks, then a small thermal bomb was thrown in, and the tank burst into flames like a candle.

The fuel tank of a Soviet tank exploded once again.

It was difficult to extinguish the burning tanks; the pavement had to be dismantled, cobblestones had to be pulled out, and sand had to be thrown at the fire. As a result, several dozen Soviet tanks burned on the streets of Prague. It should be added that, unlike Hungary in 1956, unknown snipers were seen here for the first time, shooting both citizens and Soviet soldiers, hoping to provoke even greater anger in the opposing sides. Czechs and Slovaks who sympathized with the Soviet soldiers were dealt with by their own people.

Another explosion of an additional fuel tank, a Soviet tanker tries to put it out.

The most violent clashes took place at the radio building at 12 Vinohradská Street. A Soviet tanker, in response to a sniper's shot that wounded his commander, fired a burst from a heavy machine gun and hit one of Prague's main shrines - the National Museum, which crowns Wenceslas Square. The burst made holes in the walls of the building, which was another reason for a new round of discontent for the city's residents. The stench was sky-high!

Soviet soldiers were given strict orders: "Open only return fire!" Both in Prague and in other parts of the country, cases of military confrontation became more frequent. Groups of unknown armed men fired to kill.

The GDR army in Czechoslovakia and notice there is no one around. Silence.

Characteristically, in those areas where the German group of troops was stationed, not a single Czech or Slovak was seen on the streets who wanted to express their discontent. The time of ethnic cleansing, when in 1945 the Czechs brutally tortured the German population, was still fresh in the memory of both the Czechs and the Germans.

Marching columns were formed throughout the country, the so-called "death marches", when barefoot German women, old people and children were driven for tens of kilometers, periodically pouring broken glass and nails on the asphalt. In the evening, the Czechs forced the Germans to dig a pit, then stripped everyone naked, shot them and buried them. After that, the belongings of the executed refugees were divided among themselves. The Czechs dealt with tens of thousands of Germans in a similar way. It took a lot of work for the world community to stop these so-called ethnic cleansings. By the end of the 1940s, the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic had completely gotten rid of its 2 million 200 thousand German minority.

    German refugees from Czechoslovakia.

In the first hours of the introduction of troops, the Soviet military took the Czechoslovak leadership, headed by Dubcek, out of Prague, first to Poland, then to Moscow for negotiations. Venek Šilhan was elected acting First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.

On August 25, 1968, a demonstration in support of the "Prague Spring" took place on Red Square in Moscow. Well-known Moscow dissidents sat on the parapet of the frontal place and unfurled posters. One girl even showed up with a baby, holding a poster in one hand and a child in the other. They were nicknamed the Seven Crazy Jews. The demonstration did not last even 5 minutes, all seven were captured by KGB officers, and later the court sentenced them to 2 to 4 years of imprisonment.

Thanks to Ludvik Svoboda, negotiations with Dubcek and his company took place in the Kremlin. In the eyes of the Soviet leaders, these politicians were completely discredited. But a personal request from the old respected Czech communist Ludvik Svoboda and the ongoing rebellion in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic made these negotiations possible. As a result, they were released from custody.

Until April 1969, Alexander Dubcek formally held the post of First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. In 1970, he was expelled from the Communist Party and stripped of his status as a deputy.

After his complete resignation, Dubcek was sent to his native Slovakia to manage the forestry department and, as people who managed to visit him at that time say, he lived in a fairly decent hunting lodge with servants and did not need anything. The only thing he was limited in was communicating with journalists, but you can survive without that. In the same way, there were no repressions against Vaclav Havel, no one put him in jail or shoved him into a mental hospital.

Vaclav Havel - dissident, anti-communist, last president of Czechoslovakia and first president of the Czech Republic. Friend of Gorbachev.

But nevertheless, the Western press continued to talk about the bloody suppression, about almost thousands of students smeared across the Prague pavements, none of this happened. Of course, there were casualties, mostly by accident, there were casualties even during military maneuvers and even during football matches. As soon as large crowds of people are organized and the people cannot control themselves, then this is natural.

It should be noted that the Soviet Foreign Ministry and Soviet propaganda structures did a very bad job. Because they again began to take offense, began to make excuses, began to prove something that did not happen, instead of honestly opening the archives and showing at least the operational footage that the KGB officers were taking. This would have put everything in its place, it would have been clear who died, who was smeared, how many tanks there were, whether they shot, whether they did not shoot, if they did shoot, then from where they shot.

Rioting citizens erected barricades from trams. A Soviet tank breaks through the ring of barricades.

During the riot in Prague, about 100 people died, as did the same number of Soviet soldiers.

After the Czechoslovak rebellion, Brezhnev tried to justify Operation Danube in his speech:

"When in one or another socialist country internal and external forces hostile to socialism try to restore capitalism, when socialism is under threat in one country, this is a problem not only for these people and this country, but for all countries of the commonwealth.

In the West, they hypocritically called this the Brezhnev Doctrine. Hypocritically, because the NATO charter states:

"In the event of destabilization of the situation in a NATO member country, threatening destabilization in other NATO member countries, the organization has the right to military intervention."

The USSR and four other countries (Poland, East Germany, Bulgaria and Hungary), members of the Warsaw Pact, acted towards the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in accordance with this pragmatic principle, the so-called realpolitik of the Cold War era.

As is well known, the USA instantly sends its military forces to any point on the globe, no matter how far away it is, if the political situation requires it or they have their own interests there, any resistance is destroyed.

Ice hockey. USSR National Team and Czechoslovak National Team.

Six months later, the 1969 World Ice Hockey Championships were held in Stockholm. The Soviet athletes were preparing for the upcoming match with the Czechoslovakian team not only physically. The Czechoslovakian players covered the stars on their uniforms with duct tape. They spat in the backs of the Soviet hockey players and generally behaved rudely, while the fans of the Czechoslovakian team chanted offensive words. Many years have passed since then, but for the Czechs, every match with the Russians is still revenge for the failed paradise on earth.

Unfortunately, Soviet propaganda handled the events in Czechoslovakia much worse than the Soviet army and the Soviet special services, who did an ideal job.

The disaster and rescue of the steamship Chelyuskin.

Before that, the Soviet Union had won all the propaganda wars it had waged, just remember the famous epic with the icebreaker Chelyuskin. Back then, it was just an accident, an accident caused by bungling, may the descendants of those who commanded that ship forgive me. But this powerful system, the propaganda that existed in the USSR, presented it as a grand victory, and everyone is still convinced that Chelyuskin is such a heroic page in the history of the USSR. But here, as soon as you start making excuses, it is immediately clear that you are guilty, if you are guilty, then other accusations begin.

Gustav Husak was the penultimate president of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic, the penultimate chairman of the Czechoslovak Communist Party, and a Slovak by nationality.

In April 1969, Gustav Husak was appointed First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia. He abandoned most of the reforms of his predecessor. Operation Danube undoubtedly brought positive results to the Warsaw Pact countries. In a short period of time, the attempt at destabilization was completely eliminated, and efforts to change the world geopolitical position were blocked.

Soviet paratroopers on the streets of Prague.

P.S. Providence itself, Her Majesty Fate, or, if you like, "Comrade Boomerang," took care of this, but our 1968 foreign tour was a logical response of history itself to the Czech bloodbath along the Trans-Siberian Railway fifty years earlier. However, the difference is that Soviet servicemen, unlike the "brave soldiers of Schweik," did not execute, shoot, hang, starve anyone in "death trains," or suffocate with bleach in the holds. We did this out of the kindness of our hearts! Perhaps, we should have dealt with them without liberal sine waves. For example, in the end, pull up our pants and whip everyone. They do not remember good, they dream of selling themselves at a higher price, to the Germans, the Anglo-Saxons, the Entente, the Third Reich or NATO, where the gate was recently opened for them. As Stalin said:

"A political prostitute cannot have political convictions."

And they should return the gold to us, but that will probably happen in the next turn of history...

    Part 3

Difficult photographs of the Czech uprising against the USSR: the "Prague Spring" of 1968

In the 1960s, the Czechoslovak SSR faced a difficult situation. The population was becoming poorer, and there was no economic growth. In these conditions, some Czech communists, together with the country's new leader Dubcek, decided to build socialism with a human face, allowing some elements of Western democracy.

Czech youth with national flags pinned to their chests walk with a banner: ‘Never again with the USSR!’ Karlovy Vary, 1968

Dubcek's reforms worried Brezhnev. The rejection of the communist monopoly in the country, the abolition of censorship, the rejection of Orthodoxy, the ability of Czechs to travel to the West and bring Western goods was reinforced by criticism of the USSR in Czech newspapers.

The Czechs ridiculed Brezhnev and supported the disgraced Khrushchev, criticized the Soviet economy, and refused to recognize the USSR as a model for building socialism and to station Soviet troops in the country.

There was a Cold War going on in Europe, the aggressive NATO bloc was opposed by the Soviet bloc of the Warsaw Pact, which included Czechoslovakia, and the USSR could not allow it to weaken.

A Czech officer persuades the rebels to calm down and disperse.

In early August, Leonid Ilyich made several attempts to prevent the invasion. He met Dubcek at the border and demanded that reforms be curtailed and the most zealous reformers resign. Dubcek refused.

On August 18, a meeting of the leaders of the USSR, the GDR, Poland, Bulgaria and Hungary took place in Moscow, at which they agreed to provide "military assistance to the healthy forces of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic" in the form of military operation "Danube" - the occupation of Czechoslovakia.

Soviet paratroopers are blocked by Czechs on the streets of Prague and are waiting patiently

They tried to postpone the decision, but the Hungarian leader Kadar announced that Prague wanted to open the borders with Austria and the FRG. And then Operation Danube was launched immediately. On the night of August 21, 26 divisions, including 18 USSR divisions, a total of up to 500,000 infantry and 7,000 tanks, invaded Czech territory. Romania and Albania refused to participate.

Czech rebels climbed onto a Soviet tank, the crew sealed themselves in the vehicle

The special forces of the 7th division of the USSR Airborne Forces captured the Prague airport so that the rest of the paratroopers could land and begin seizing the authorities and media in the capital. Defense Minister Grechko warned the Czech army command not to interfere under the threat of destruction.

Czech rebels set fire to a Soviet tank

The Czech leadership issued an urgent appeal to the people, condemning the occupation invasion and calling on the people to defend the Motherland. But immediately after that, they were captured by the KGB special forces and taken to Moscow.

By the end of August 21, 1968, all objects on the territory of Czechoslovakia were captured. The soldiers of the socialist armies were limited in their ability to open fire on the protesters, who took advantage of this.

Czech rebels built and set fire to barricades in the path of the troops, threw Molotov cocktails at tanks and stones at soldiers. They tried to pull tankers out of tanks, beat up crews and seize armored vehicles. They blew up bridges.

In these conditions, commanders had to give the order to open fire. Most often, it was the GDR soldiers who fired at the rebels. A total of 608 Czechs were killed and wounded. The losses of the invading troops amounted to 98 killed and wounded. The resistance was suppressed in 2 days, mainly in the large cities. Provincial Czechoslovakia condemned the capital's rebels and welcomed the introduction of Soviet troops.

In September 1968, the Czech government abandoned the reforms. Allied divisions were withdrawn from the country, Operation Danube became the largest operation in Europe since World War II.

In 1969, Dubcek resigned, 300,000 Czechs emigrated from the country, 500,000 were expelled from the Communist Party, and all rebels were amnestied. The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic was divided into two republics - the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Slovak Socialist Republic.

A Soviet soldier pursues a stone-throwing Czech, but does not open fire.

In March 1990, the word "socialist" was removed from the names of the republics. The 130,000-strong Soviet troop group was withdrawn in 1991. A year later, the Czechs applied to NATO.

When the Warsaw Pact military bloc was dissolved in Budapest in 1991, the Czech Minister of Defense recalled how the last Soviet Defense Minister Dmitry Yazov told him: "We saved you from the Germans, you will regret that we are not there when you have problems." Tears ran down Marshal Yazov's cheeks...

    Thanks a lot, Russian Bear!

We all know that the official history of current Russia (as much as West!) has many taboos regarding 1917-1990.
But all kinds of things must come out -- sooner or later.

This article from Ron Unz seems to fit with what has been revealed during last decades:

    Could you give your opinion?

    (...)

Not really meant as a discussion point but just as a small side note from my personal family history, if I may (Well, I would not be sitting here as the person I am and writing this if this had not happened, so it is 'kind of' personal):

My mother actually went through this ethnic cleansing and deportation in 1945. She is a so-called Sudeten-German (Sudetendeutsche) and was deported from her little village 'Maiwald' in Czechia-Sudentenland together with her mother (my Grandma) to Germany then. She was born in 1938 there, so she was 7 years old when it happened. Still have an old painting on my wall here with her as a child on a carriage together with her parents (my grandparents) in front of their beautiful farm house (they were farmers there).

What I learn from the Wikipedia links now (see below) is that acually a quarter of the population in Czechia back then was German, up to 25% altogether in and some parts even 30%. This would certainly also explain Czechia's support for Hitler then since they already had a population base over there.

However, it should not be overlooked that they were not settled there by force by Hitler but had come much earlier since medieval times, it was a natural and gradual immigration. So they were kind of 'native' 'minority' (although a huge one) but still fostered their German culture and language, obviously, because my mother as an 8-year-old did not speak any Czech language I think.

    See here:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sudeten_Germans

    Quote:

"Before 1945, over three million German Bohemians constituted[1] about 23% of the population of the whole country and about 29.5% of the population of Bohemia and Moravia.[2] Ethnic Germans migrated into the Kingdom of Bohemia, an electoral territory of the Holy Roman Empire, from the 11th century, mostly in the border regions of what was later called the "Sudetenland", which was named after the Sudeten Mountains.[3]"

More about the brutal expulsion of 1945:

Here's my mother's home and birthplace named "Maiwald" (German), then after WWII called "Mejvald" and today "Májůvka", translation by Google:

Here's the painting, which I just photographed and scanned and uploaded for myself recently. It's nice, isn't it?

You have dumped a huge amount of information. I looked at the article. To draw conclusions, you need to read these books and videos that are there. For me it will not be easy, I do not know English. But my browser through AI can translate English videos into Russian and all sites. I want to say that this analysis will take a lot of time if I decide to dive into it. In any case, thank you for your answer. Post Why did Russia and the USSR try to join NATO 4 times? The Russian view. Why did Stalin and Putin need it?

Why did Russia and the USSR try to join NATO 4 times? The Russian view. Why did Stalin and Putin need it?

You can see a list of all my publications here: https://projectavalon.net/forum4/sho...=1#post1672458

Look at this article, all those who call Russia an aggressor.

Look, I will literally change your understanding of what is happening with just one fact and make all Western propaganda regarding the demonization of Russia meaningless.

The fact is the following: the USSR, and then Russia, made several attempts to join NATO.
    That's all.

Putin V.V., 2001 (joint press conference with Bush):
I will now read to you a recently declassified...actually, this was in the press a long time ago, the accompanying documents were secret at the time. It says: a copy has been declassified, but it was top secret.

This is a note from the Soviet government from 1954, sent to NATO member countries.

    The following is written here:
"Guided by the unchanging principles of its peaceful foreign policy and striving to reduce tension in international relations, the Soviet government expresses its readiness to consider, together with interested governments, the question of the USSR's participation in the North Atlantic Treaty."

    And here is the answer:
"Such and such proposals were accompanied by the expansion of the Atlantic Pact by the Soviet Union's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty. There is no need to emphasize the completely unrealistic nature of such a proposal."
    This is the answer.

About a year ago, I answered a question about whether it was possible for Russia to somehow join NATO.
    I said: "Why not?"
And immediately the former US Secretary of State, Ms. M. Albright, said: "Well, that's not being discussed now."

    Now some basic logic.

If the US and its vassals had responded to the proposal, there would be no war now.

    There would be no:
    ❌ Cold War,
    ❌ Arms Race,
    ❌ Crazy Weapons Spending,
❌ Nuclear Crises That Almost Contributed to the Destruction of the Earth, etc.

This information gives a detailed answer to who needs war.

If Russia were accepted into NATO, it would accept the rules of the alliance. Formally, as during the Second World War, the USSR and the USA would be allies, and would resolve disputes, so to speak, in a friendly manner.

But, no, friends, no one wanted or wants to see the USSR and Russia as partners.

    ❓ Why?

⚠️ Because in that case the Anglo-Saxons would not have a major enemy that they could demonize and use to frighten their electorate and Europeans.

➡️ In the first case, by intimidating its population, the US manages to spend trillions of dollars on weapons.
➡️ In the second case, under the guise of protecting its allies, the Europeans, the US occupies their territories.

NATO bases on the world map

    ❓ What is NATO expansion?
⚠️ It is the occupation of territory in a military sense. And what is the point of expansion if there is no enemy?

Here is the answer to the question - who needs wars and why?

❓ And here let's take a closer look at what NATO is?
    ❓ Why is it needed?
❓ How did Stalin and Putin want to join NATO?
❓ And how did they recruit Nazis instead of communists into NATO?

⛔️ Today, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is the largest military force - it has concentrated up to 80% of the world's military power in its hands.
⛔️ The size of the NATO army is 3.36 million people
    ⛔️ of 32 member countries,
⛔️ which spend more than a trillion dollars on military expenses.
⛔️ The Alliance was created as a defensive union based on democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
⛔️ But it has never protected anyone.

*Libya, Yugoslavia, the Middle East - wherever NATO troops are present, states disintegrate, wars and deaths begin.

⛔️ Over the past 30 years, NATO has carried out 23 military operations against other countries.
⛔️ Millions of civilians have fallen victim (to the war).
⛔️ Between 38 and 60 million people have been forced to flee their homes.
⛔️ Damage to the environment and infrastructure exceeds several trillion dollars.
⛔️ $542 billion worth of bombs were dropped in Yugoslavia alone.

    CREATION OF NATO

The starting point is considered to be 1946, when former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill delivered the famous Fulton speech.

    Churchill's Fulton Speech

In this speech, he acknowledged the leading role of the new hegemon – the USA, and also scared Europe with the "iron curtain": "From Stettin to Trieste, across the entire continent, an "iron curtain" was lowered. Behind this line are all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe, which fell into the sphere of Soviet influence and high control from Moscow."

Also in this speech, he emphasized that the entire English-speaking world is obliged to fight the red threat.

*By the way, the phrase "iron curtain", which would eventually stick to the policy of the Soviet Union, Churchill borrowed from Joseph Goebbels, one of the ideologists of Nazism.

The USSR's position was simple - it was creating a buffer of friendly states in Europe that would prevent a sudden attack on the country. Moscow did not want a repeat of June 1941, or other wars that were coming from the West. The Soviet Union was in ruins, and a lot of effort was needed to restore it.

⛔️ The allies of the anti-fascist coalition were doing something similar in Western Europe.
⛔️ In France, intelligence was fabricating documents about a communist conspiracy being prepared.
⛔️ In Italy, the communists were being crushed in the elections.
⛔️ Then the United States adopted the Marshall Plan and allocated $13 billion to restore 17 European countries after the war.

    ⛔️ In return, Washington demanded:
➡ remove all communists from power,
➡ abandon the principles of free trade and
➡ tie their imports and exports to the United States.

As a result, Europe split: the eastern part was pro-Soviet, and the western part was pro-American.

The Warsaw Pact (Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance), signed on May 14, 1955, included eight countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, the GDR, Poland, Romania, Czechoslovakia and the creator of this union - the USSR, with its control center in Moscow.

n 1947, American President Harry Truman said that America would do everything possible to contain the USSR, while democratic regimes, on the contrary, would be supported and saved from communism.

Simply put, he decided to secure the right of the United States to interfere in the affairs of the entire world.

Thus, the “Truman Doctrine” obliged America to pursue a policy of
    ❌ wars,
    ❌ interventions and
    ❌ gigantic military budgets.

All this continues to this day.

Plus, the West could not calm down and developed plans for a total war with the USSR.

⚠️ What is “Dropshot” ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Dropshot ) worth, according to which they were going to drop 300 nuclear bombs and 29 thousand high-explosive bombs on 100 Soviet cities!

The NATO bloc was formed on the “Truman Doctrine” - April 4, 1949. Allegedly, as a peaceful and defensive alliance against external aggression. Naturally, this meant the aggression of the USSR.

And look, friends, in the same year, Moscow offered the British government to participate in the creation of NATO. But NATO refused Moscow.

After this refusal, Joseph Stalin called the alliance “an undermining of the UN.” Which, in fact, was the case.

That is, this means that the creation of NATO is an undermining of real international law.

    Initially, it included 12 countries.

    * In general, the United States could not enter into military alliances if they were not at war themselves. But for the sake of such a matter, they adopted the “Vandenberg Resolution,” which allowed
➡ to conclude treaties in peacetime,
➡ and to place military bases in other countries.

Which the United States began to actively do.

Today, they control more than 900 bases and spend about $100 billion a year on them.

The anti-Soviet nature of the Treaty was, in fact, not hidden either then or now. The first NATO Secretary General Ismay Hastings formulated the organization's goal quite simply: "To keep the Soviet Union out, the Americans in, and the Germans in a subordinate position."

▶️ On the one hand, the NATO Charter is for the peaceful resolution of disputes.
▶️ On the other hand, according to Article 5, an attack on one NATO country is an act of aggression against all. And each member of the alliance must come to its defense.

But due to the vagueness of the wording, a number of participants, including the United States, may consider an attack a potential threat to their military bases.

Considering that there are more than 900 such bases, it turns out that NATO is responsible for the entire world.

NATO bases on the world map

In this way, the alliance ascribes to itself the function of ensuring global security, and this contradicts the foundations of the UN international order.

*By the way, Article 5 of the NATO charter was used once - after the attack on the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001. Then NATO troops entered Afghanistan. True, they left 20 years later, abandoning their allies, without defeating the Taliban.

    Now another important fact.

When Turkey and Greece were included in NATO in 1952, once again declaring the peaceful nature of the organization, Stalin grinned and said: “Shouldn’t we join NATO then?”

And indeed, in 1954, the USSR officially asked to join the alliance.

Moreover, as part of a peace project, it wanted to unite West and East Germany on the condition of its constitutional neutrality.
For modern Germans, this was a shock, since until the destruction of the Berlin Wall, they believed that only the Soviet Union was responsible for the division of Germany.

But the West refused. Allegedly, the participation of the USSR was incompatible with the democratic goals of the alliance.

Although Portugal, where the dictatorship flourished for almost 50 years, did not stop it from becoming one of the founders.

And, in order not to lose face, NATO put forward conditions that Moscow could not accept:
⛔️ namely, a certain capitulation in the Cold War,
⛔️ withdrawal of troops from Germany and Austria,
⛔️ abandonment of military bases in the Far East and
    ⛔️ limitation of weapons.

In general, it is unlikely that the Soviet Union seriously believed that it would be happily accepted into the alliance. Most likely, it wanted to clearly demonstrate that talk of a peaceful NATO was worth nothing, and that the alliance itself was hostile to the USSR.

That is, the Anglo-Saxons refused negotiations and peaceful coexistence from the very beginning.

    Look what happened.
The Anglo-Saxons say: "We are building, supposedly, a defensive alliance against the USSR."
The USSR says: "We are not going to attack anyone. Let us even join NATO ourselves."

The Anglo-Saxons were taken aback and naturally refused - against whom then will we be friends and intimidate the population - with whom?

And think about how truly peace-loving the USSR was: in order to avoid this confrontation, a possible future war, it went for unification with its enemy.

In 1955, just 10 years after the victory over fascism, the FRG was accepted into NATO.

That is, the USA and its vassals immediately began to create a military bloc against the USSR after the end of World War II.

The States refused all calls from the USSR for peaceful coexistence.

Therefore, in response to their aggression, the USSR and the socialist countries had to create their own military bloc - the Warsaw Pact Organization for Peace and Security in Europe.

That is, the Soviet alliance, no matter how you look at it, was only a response to the actions of the West.

An interesting fact about NATO. This organization positioned and positions itself as a white and fluffy defender of democracy, Western values and, in general, everything good. Well, just an angel keeping peace on Earth.

But nevertheless, the Western average person is not told whose services this bloc used.

⛔️ The most striking example is the Nazi Lieutenant General Reinhard Gehlen, who fought against the USSR and formally against the United States of America.

Reinhard Gehlen - Nazi Lieutenant General

In 1945, the general surrendered to the US Army. But before that, he hid secret documents: the developments of German military intelligence, data, an agent network and other valuable information. The cunning general believed that the Americans would give a good price for this.

And so it happened. As a result, Gehlen was tasked with organizing a department that would deal with purely Russian issues.

So in 1946, Gelenorg appeared. And instead of one Russian department, two worked in the West: one in the US - the CIA, the second - in the FRG, the Gehlen Organization.

Both pursued the same goal: the destruction of communism as an ideology and the weakening of the USSR as a state.

Later, by the way, Gelenorg was transformed into the Federal Intelligence Service of Germany, BND, which is still functioning.

By the beginning of the 50s, more than 4 thousand officers of the former Wehrmacht and SS served under Gehlen's command.

Gehlen also played an important role ( https://kprf10.ru/news/natsistskie-korni-nato_5583/) in the appointment of NATO employees.

⛔️ For example, here is the Nazi Hans Speidel, a German lieutenant general.

    Hans Speidel, German Lieutenant General

From 1955, he was the head of the Armed Forces Department of the German Defense Ministry.
And from 1957 to 1963, he was the commander of NATO forces in Central Europe.

⛔️ Since 1967, this position has been held by Johann von Kielmansegg. During World War II, he fought in Poland, France, and the USSR.

    Johann von Kielmansegg

⛔️ Submariner Friedrich Guggenberger, who sank 17 British and American ships, served as deputy chief of staff of NATO's Northern European Command for four years.

    Friedrich Guggenberger

⛔️ And here is Wehrmacht General Adolf Heusinger. The man on whose orders Soviet cities were destroyed.

Adolf Heusinger - General of the Wehrmacht, and since 1961 - head of the NATO Military Committee in Washington

In 1961, he became the head of the NATO military committee in Washington. Before that, he had managed to be the general inspector of the armed forces of the FRG.

Many other people of Gehlen also ended up in the NATO command structures, determining its military-political course.

It is important to note that the USSR demanded that the US extradite Heusinger in 1961, but to no avail. Neither Gehlen himself nor anyone from his entourage were extradited.

By the way, after his resignation, Gehlen received $6 million a year in support from the Americans. This is how the symbiosis between the Nazis and our allies developed.

As you understand, these people deserved the death penalty, but their experience in the fight against the USSR was more important for the Americans, so they didn't care who they really were.

In 1983, the question of the Soviet Union's membership in NATO was raised again. ( https://tass.ru/opinions/6295299 )

Here we need to understand what this membership meant:
▶️ Firstly, preventing a war that the USSR had already encountered and did not want.
▶️ Secondly, the USSR would have had great influence in NATO. So this entry did not imply any subordination to the United States.

But after the events with the South Korean Boeing, this topic was no longer returned to.

*Let me remind you that we are talking about accusations against the USSR that it intentionally destroyed a passenger plane on its territory. The States called the Soviet Union an "evil empire" and began preparing for a nuclear war with NATO countries again.

NATO has expanded ten times in its history, three times before the collapse of the USSR.

And after the collapse, NATO's existence seemed to lose its meaning. But it was not to be.

The Alliance decided that it had a new role - to keep order throughout the world and moved towards the borders of Russia.
There is a telling picture of NATO bases all over the world and the caption: "Russia has placed its borders too close to NATO bases."

And this is not a joke: the US really believes that Russia is threatening NATO, since it is close to its bases.

It is high time to remember that US Secretary of State James Baker promised the head of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev in 1990 not to expand NATO to the East if he gave up his allies in Europe. Gorbachev gave up his allies. But NATO said: "Shame on the losers," and began to expand further.

And this is not fiction, but documented negotiations: "If we maintain a presence in Germany, which is already part of NATO, NATO's jurisdiction will not be expanded an inch to the East."

*Let me remind you that the issue of German unification was being decided at the time.

And here is that same Baker next to FRG Vice Chancellor Genscher, who declares: "We have agreed that there is NO intention to expand NATO's defense zone to the East. This applies not only to the GDR, which we do not want to include, but in general."

Gorbachev was convinced that the alliance did not pose a threat to the USSR by
➡ British Foreign Secretary Douglas Hurd,
    ➡ French President Francois Mitterrand,
➡ US President George Bush Sr.

But there is one small nuance: the guarantees were simply verbal! They were not legally secured in any way. Gorbachev and company were so blinded by the West that they took him at his word.

Gorbachev himself refused to admit the deception in 2014 and said that there were no promises. All this was supposedly a myth. And, thus, he fully supported the Western position and propaganda. Although there are documents from which it is clear that this was all said.

And here is an interesting moment from the declassified US National Security Archive: Russian President Yeltsin tells US President Bill Clinton that “Russia should be the first to join NATO. And after that, other countries of Central and Eastern Europe.”

Yeltsin, at his dacha in Novo-Ogaryovo in 1994, spoke about how he saw the future world: “There should be a kind of cartel of the US, Russia and the Europeans to help ensure and strengthen international security.”

But instead of accepting Russia, NATO launched the Partnership for Peace program for military cooperation.

And that same year, the First Chechen War began, when Russia first tried to stop separatism in the Caucasus. This became a signal to the West that the division of Russia was postponed and that Moscow, despite the terrible situation, would preserve the country. The question of NATO was closed again.

Although the West acknowledged that Russia was fighting not just separatists, but terrorists, whom, as it turned out, they had secretly financed.

Meanwhile, the alliance began to absorb Eastern Europe, whose countries had previously been part of the Warsaw Pact, and was getting closer and closer to Russia's borders.

➡️ In 1999, Poland, Hungary, and the Czech Republic joined NATO.
➡️ Then, in 2004, the bloc included not only former socialist countries, but also the republics of the USSR: Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.

That is, this is already a direct occupation of our Motherland - the big Russia, for the borders of which our grandfathers died.

In general, that expansion greatly strengthened NATO's position in the Black Sea region and in South-Eastern Europe as a whole. And it created serious risks for Russia.

This was the point of no return, which showed that attempts to build a partnership were doomed to failure.

➡️ In 2008, NATO decided that Ukraine and Georgia would one day become its members.
    The expansion continues today.
    ➡️ Finland joined in 2023,
    ➡️ and Sweden in 2024.

After the collapse of its main adversary, NATO has doubled in size.

And here I would like to recall the words of the American diplomat John Kennan. It was he who was the ideological father of the policy of containing the USSR and the Truman Doctrine.

In 1997, he predicted that “NATO expansion would be a tragic mistake and the beginning of a new Cold War. There is no reason to expand the bloc, and Russia's reaction will be hostile and will lead to changes in its policy.”

That is, Western politicians knew very well what their aggressive policy would lead to. This is a classic example: go to the hive, stir it up and shout that I told you so, that the bees are aggressive.

If you look at the official list of NATO operations, they all took place in the 90s. Then, when there was no opponent left to restrain the ambitions of the alliance. All paths to world domination were open to the United States.

▶️ They began to act actively, sometimes without the approval of the UN, as in Yugoslavia in 1999. As soon as the Serbs tried to restore order on their land, the alliance immediately began the operation.
⛔️ The country was bombed for 78 days.
⛔️ They did not shy away from dirty methods: they used shells with depleted uranium.
⛔️ More than 5 thousand people died, including 2/3 of the civilian population.
⛔️ And all this was beautifully called “humanitarian intervention”.

▶️ In 2003, Iraq came under fire.
⛔️ They invaded under the pretext of the presence of weapons of mass destruction in the country and the threat from the regime of Saddam Hussein.
⛔️ The weapons were never found.
    ⛔️ Hussein was killed.
⛔️ The war lasted almost 9 years.
⛔️ It took the lives of a million Iraqis and
⛔️ resulted in an increase in terrorist activity.

▶️ And in 2011, "peacekeepers" invaded sovereign Libya.
⛔️ They helped kill the head of state Muammar Gaddafi and
⛔️ plunged the country into chaos, which continues there to this day.
⛔️ During the struggle, up to 30 thousand people died.

▶️ In 2014, they began bombing Syria without UN sanctions.
⛔️ They allegedly fought terrorism, looking for chemical weapons.
⛔️ But in fact, they wanted to overthrow the country's president Bashar al-Assad.
⛔️ According to various estimates, from 585 thousand to a million Syrians died during the war.

▶️ And, of course, 20 years in Afghanistan
⛔️ after which the country's economy was almost completely destroyed,
⛔️ about 50 thousand civilians died,
    ⛔️ and millions became refugees.

▶️ In addition to direct participation in conflicts, NATO forces act indirectly:
    ⛔️ support internal protests,
    ⛔️ train revolutionaries,
⛔️ supply weapons and other assistance to the rebels.

For example, the United States and Türkiye assisted Chechen fighters and even trained them in modern guerrilla warfare.

And about the neighboring country, everything is clear to everyone.

💲 NATO membership is not a cheap pleasure. Budgets are formed from contributions from member countries of the alliance.
💲 According to the charter, they must spend 2% of GDP.
💲 But in 2023, only 11 countries met the condition.
    💲 Poland spent the most - 3.9% or $ 29.1 billion.
💲 In second place is the United States - 3.5%. At the same time, in monetary terms, American spending is almost 30 times higher than Polish: $ 860 billion, which amounted to 68% of total defense spending.

    * For comparison, Russia has $ 109 billion.

💲 And this year, military spending will grow by another 18% and amount to about $ 1.26 trillion - and this is more than half of the global military spending.
💲 Which is good for the Americans, as the alliance's Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg notes, since two-thirds of the money goes to military orders in the States.

That is, NATO for the US is not only an instrument of military hegemony, but also a mechanism for pumping money from Europe into its military-industrial complex.

Thus, NATO members pay for their occupation and develop the American military-industrial complex.

Meanwhile, with the money that circulates in the organization, it would be easy to fight hunger throughout the world.

For example, the UN has drawn up a plan for $6.6 billion that would save 42 million people in 43 countries from starvation. This amount is 190 times less than NATO's spending.

But instead, the alliance is increasing military spending even faster than during the Cold War.

NATO states are essentially the golden billion: the richest countries in Europe with the United States at the helm.

They created this bloc to maintain their dominance and status.

As was said, Russia's entry into NATO would make the organization meaningless, so back in 2000 Vladimir Putin said that he would like to join NATO on the condition that they would take into account Russia's interests.

Then there was an attempt in 2002.

According to the president, this was also discussed with Clinton. But Washington does not need a member whose military power is comparable to the United States itself. The balance is too disturbed.

It is necessary to understand that the bloc was basically assembled in the interests of the United States, and the Americans have always played the main role in it.

NATO secretaries general can change - yesterday a Briton, today a Norwegian, but the commanders-in-chief are always Americans, there have been no exceptions yet.

At the NATO summit in 2016, Russia was recognized as the main security threat, and its containment officially became the new mission of the alliance.

And this, I repeat, after our country has attempted to join NATO 4 times. But nevertheless, Russia is still trying to negotiate.

In 2021, Vladimir Putin proposed an agreement to the United States and Europe on the principles of security in Europe and on non-expansion of NATO. In response, the Alliance confirmed its commitment to the “open door policy”, that is, that it is not going to give up on expanding to the east.
Russia was sent far away again.

And then came 2022. And what the Anglo-Saxons had been leading to since the Cold War, unfortunately, happened.

    This is the situation, comrades.

Hello, comrades. Today, the most authoritative and largest international organization, which includes 193 countries, i.e., essentially the entire world, is the United Nations. Each of its members voluntarily undertakes obligations to implement the decisions taken by this organization. That is, it is a supranational structure, which in some matters assumes the authority to govern the world.

    United Nations

▶️ Who runs the United Nations?
▶️ Why was it actually created?
▶️ What happens behind the walls of this organization's headquarters?
▶️ Why won't it ban wars?

✅ You will learn these and other interesting facts related to the UN in this article.
Everything I have said is based on easily verifiable facts from open, authoritative, competent sources.

    Let's begin.

THE HISTORY OF THE CREATION OF THE UN

Our world consists of many states that interact and contact each other in different ways: some countries have friendly relations, some have hostile relations. Hostile relations often develop into wars.

Four times after large-scale wars, humanity gathered and created a new world order:
⏩ in 1648, the Peace of Westphalia after the Thirty Years' War,
⏩ at the Congress of Vienna in 1815 after the Napoleonic Wars,
⏩ at the Paris Conference in 1919 after the First World War
⏩ and at the San Francisco Conference in 1945 after the Second World War, when the Charter of the United Nations was adopted.

In fact, the main points of the post-war world order were adopted in Yalta in the same year of 1945. That is why they sometimes call it the "Yalta system".

And here it is very important to understand that the world lives in such a way that first countries have contradictions, they fight, exhaust their resources and forces, and after the war, naturally, agree on how to live on. The post-war structure is the foundation of international law. Now, formally, we live according to the results of the Second World War. The most important part of which is the United Nations, or simply the UN.

The UN was formed as a result of many meetings of the leaders of the countries that won over Nazi Germany. Stalin - from the USSR, Roosevelt and Truman - from the USA and Winston Churchill - from Great Britain. These are the Washington conferences, the Moscow, Tehran and Yalta meetings ( https://www.un.org/ru/about-us/histo...paratory-years ) and already in 1945 at the San Francisco Conference, convened on behalf of Great Britain, the USSR and the USA, in which 50 states participated, the UN Charter, which still exists today, was signed, which explains the essence of the organization's activities and which is an international treaty of all countries. A treaty on how the planet should live.

The most important thing to know about the United Nations is that it was created by the victorious countries of World War II. That is, the most influential and powerful states of that time, against whose opinion no one could go either physically or morally.

The UN was created by the victorious countries of World War II

The headquarters of the United Nations is located in the USA in New York. Why exactly there - will be explained further.

The UN has 2 important bodies: the first is the UN General Assembly ( https://www.un.org/ru/ga/ ), which includes all 193 members of this organization and which is a kind of international State Duma, where international laws - resolutions - are adopted. It is there that various leaders of countries speak.

    UN General Assembly

And, by the way, that’s where Khrushchev’s famous speech took place, when he allegedly banged his shoe on the table and made threats.

    Nikita Khrushchev

Of course, Khrushchev said a lot of things there: both good and strange - in his style in general. He says: "It doesn't matter whether you are black or white. The main thing is that your soul is not black." That's the kind of diplomat Khrushchev was.

The UN General Assembly is a unique body where all countries of the world can speak out on a particular topic; make proposals related to the economic, political, social or military sphere; simply convey important information to the entire world.
The result of the General Assembly's activities can be called a resolution - a document that, in essence, all countries of the world vote or do not vote for. Each country has one vote.
That is, let's say it is necessary to solve some global problem in the field of ecology, economics, etc. A solution to the problem is sought, the issue is put to a vote and all countries of the world vote. If more than 50% of countries vote "for", then the decision is made.

In general, such a world democracy. Nevertheless, the creators of the United Nations made the resolutions of the UN General Assembly only a recommendatory document.

As an example, the UN General Assembly has already unanimously decided about the need to end the blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba about 30 times every year. Yes, there are cases when the world goes against the US, but this has no practical meaning and does not oblige the US to do anything. It is just hot air. This is stated in the UN Charter, the resolutions of the General Assembly have great moral and political significance.

Another matter is what the second body of the United Nations, the Security Council, will say.

    UN Security Council

This body - the UN Security Council - can essentially do anything in today's world. Even completely destroy a country. And what's important is that the decisions of the UN Security Council, unlike the resolutions of the General Assembly, are mandatory.

In general, according to today's international law, so to speak, wars are permitted. Officially, wars can be waged in two cases: in the case of self-defense (individual or collective), which is specified in Article 51 of the UN Charter or (attention!) by decision of the UN Security Council.

The Security Council consists of 15 countries, 5 of which are permanent members. The other 10 are elected every 2 years from the rest of the organization's participants. So what do we get? There are 15 countries that can decide for the rest of the world what to do in a given situation. But what's even more interesting is that there are only 5 countries in the Security Council that can say "no" to the decision being made and it will be cancelled. So These 5 countries have the right of veto. Namely: the USA, Russia, as the legal successor of the USSR, Great Britain, France and China.

5 countries are permanent members of the UN Security Council: England, Russia, France, China and the USA

These countries are considered privileged in the United Nations, because they are permanent members of the Security Council and, in addition, only they have the ability to cancel any decision, even if the rest of the world is for it. That is, today international law is structured like this: let's say that all UN members without exception, i.e. the whole world, decided to ban space flights. But any of these 5 countries in the world can cancel this decision. Well, let's say China said "no", i.e. vetoed. And the whole world must agree with this.

Why these countries? As was said above, international law is based on the results of the past war. And naturally, the victors there occupy a privileged position.

Russia is the legal successor and successor of the Soviet Union, which made the main contribution to the defeat of Nazi Germany and its satellites.

The United States earned huge amounts of money in the First and Second World Wars and became the world's leading economy. Moreover, they joined the victory at the very end of the Second World War - they could not be ignored.

Great Britain - also an Anglo-Saxon cunning country - once the most powerful, was also on the list of the leaders in the fight against Nazism. Plus, Great Britain pushed through the decision to have France in the Security Council. Although, naturally, it has no merit for this. France capitulated to Germany after 42 days. In the USSR, only one Brest Fortress resisted for about the same amount of time.

*By the way, in connection with this there is an old historical joke that claims to be true.
When the German General Keitel signed the act of capitulation of Germany, he looked towards the French representative and not without sarcasm asked Marshal Zhukov: "Did they also defeat us?".

The fifth permanent member of the UN Security Council is China. In World War II, he fought against Japan and was very well battered by this country, whose cruelty is not inferior to Hitler's Germany.

This organization structure, built on the results of World War II, has survived to this day and is functioning quite actively.

But since the United States became the most powerful country after winning the Cold War in 1991, then in cases where UN decisions contradict their interests, they simply spit on what this organization says. That is, they began to live by the principle of "who is stronger is right." In essence, thereby destroying international law. And when one world order is destroyed, disagreements and wars begin, after which it is necessary to gather again and agree. This is the time we live in today.

And this, so to speak, is a simple informational reference. And now the most interesting thing.

THE MAIN SECRET OF THE UN

Firstly, the idea of creating the UN arose at the very beginning of World War II. On August 14, 1941, on board a warship in the Atlantic Ocean, US President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill signed the Atlantic Charter - a document declaring the goals of the two countries in the war against Nazi Germany and its allies. As well as their vision of the post-war world order.

On August 14, 1941, US President Franklin Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill signed the Atlantic Charter

That is, even when it was not clear who would win the war, the Anglo-Saxons were already thinking about how the world would be structured and did so without the USSR.

And how can one not recall the famous statement of the future US President Harry Truman on June 24, 1941. Namely, he said: "If we see that Germany is winning, then we should help Russia, and if Russia is winning, then we should help Germany, and thus let them kill as many as possible."

That is, at the time when the Jews were already burning in the ovens, Germany attacked the USSR and the Second World War lasted for 2 years, the US establishment really considered the possibility of helping Hitler! Remember this.

Secondly, the fact that American capital created the industry of Nazi Germany is no secret today. There are a lot of books, articles, documentaries that clearly prove the active participation of Americans in helping German industry.

Guido Giacomo Preparata: "Hitler, Inc. How Britain and the USA Created the Third Reich."

I also recommend reading the article: The organizer of World War II is known https://projectavalon.net/forum4/sho...=1#post1670600
The main thing you need to know about World War II
    https://projectavalon.net/forum4/sho...=1#post1670603

One of the main oligarchs of the United States of all time is John Rockefeller, who became such thanks to the extraction and sale of oil. In 1870, John Rockefeller created the Standard Oil company. In 1911, the company was divided into several separate firms that are still alive today. These include, among others, ExxonMobil, Chevron, British Petroleum and others.

And here is what one of the Western scientists Sutton Anthony writes in his book "Wall Street and Hitler's Rise to Power": "The Standard Oil group of companies, in which the Rockefeller family owned a quarter of the shares (a controlling stake), provided vital assistance to Nazi Germany in preparing for World War II."

Namely, the author points out that without the help of Standard Oil, Germany would not have been able to start the war at all.

The book also states that "Standard Oil executives had ties to Hitler's Germany to such an extent that they invested through German subsidiaries in Heinrich Himmler's personal fund and were part of Himmler's circle of friends until 1944." That is, almost until the very end of World War II.

Overall, by the beginning of World War II, the total investments of American corporations in German branches and representative offices amounted to about $800 million. Of which Standard Oil (now Exxon) - $120 million. At that time, the head of the Rockefeller family, which owned the controlling stake in Standard Oil, was John Rockefeller Jr.

And look at what an interesting situation arises: his company, and in fact Rockefeller himself, actively participated in preparing Nazi Germany for war. And then, immediately after the war, the same Rockefeller donated $8.5 million for the construction of the United Nations headquarters. Namely, he donates land that belongs to him in Manhattan for the construction of the organization’s headquarters.

First UN Secretary General Trygve Lie shows off $8.5 million check from Rockefeller

Hence the question: why did Rockefeller do this? Why did he need it? It is unlikely that it was for good, pacific reasons. The man had only recently helped Hitler, made money from the war, and at the same time he was actively supporting the pro-fascist government in Argentina (more on that later), and then, bam! he donated money to build the United Nations. Nations that united in the fight against Nazism and whose goal was to prevent future wars. Why is that?

ORIGINAL PURPOSE OF THE CREATION OF THE UN
Or maybe the purpose of the UN was different from the beginning?

Yes, that's right. Let me remind you that thanks to the First and Second World Wars, the power of the United States grew to unprecedented levels. After the Second World War, America accounted for 50% of the world's GDP in economic terms. This country accumulated a huge amount of European and Russian gold. The warring continent paid for American goods with this precious metal, thereby actively developing the US economy. Thus, more than 70% of the world's gold reserves accumulated on the North American continent.

In 1944, a global financial system had already been developed and proposed, where the dollar was recognized as a value on par with gold. The essence of the Americans' proposal was simple - they said: "Why should you all use gold when we have it all? Let's just tie dollars to gold and use them." Almost the entire world agreed to this. Well, after the planet got very stuck on the dollar, the USA cancelled the gold backing of the dollar in 1971 and it became just a candy wrapper.

That is, at the end of World War II, the USA was the most influential country in the world: all production, all gold - they had; the dollar became the world currency. Thus, they controlled world finances and the economy. But not politics. Formally, almost all countries were considered independent.

Therefore, there was a need to create an organization through which it would be possible to control all states also politically. Yes, according to the Americans, the original goal of creating the UN was to make a kind of world government out of it. That is why Rockefeller donates money for the construction of the headquarters, which is located nowhere else, but in the USA.

In addition, Rockefeller Jr. actively influenced the results of the Dumbarton Oaks conference,

    Dumbarton Oaks Conference

when, under pressure from Rockefeller, a clause on collective self-defense was included in the UN Charter, which later helped create the NATO military bloc.

Also, as is well known, Argentina was a pro-fascist state, friendly with Hitler, so they did not want to include this country in the UN. But Rockefeller, a Nazi sympathizer, insisted that Argentina, despite its pro-fascist government, should be allowed to join the UN.

And as stated in the book by Peter Collier and David Horowitz "Rockefellers: An American Dynasty": "On Rockefeller's side were the Latin American delegations, a relationship that angered Nicolo Tucci, the head of the US State Department's Bureau of Latin American Studies, who resigned, declaring that "my bureau was supposed to destroy Nazi and fascist propaganda in South America, but Rockefeller invites the worst fascists and Nazis to Washington." As a result, the main obstacle to creating a semblance of a world government was the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union, although battered by the Great Patriotic War, still controlled, in addition to 1/6 of the land, half of Europe. Half of Europe, which the USSR idolized, since it was the Soviet Union that liberated these countries from the Nazis. And it was necessary to reckon with the Soviet Union, to come to an agreement.

The Americans wanted to act cunningly: they initially promoted such a structure of the UN, when decisions would be made by a simple majority. That is, if half of the UN participants vote positively for some decision, then it must be implemented.

On the one hand, it all seems fair. But given the fact that the Americans, and the Anglo-Saxons in general, had influence on almost the majority of UN member countries, it is obvious that all decisions would be made in the interests of the USA. That is why Stalin wanted all the republics of the USSR to be in the UN in order to get additional votes. But it was possible to add only 2 republics to the organization separately: Ukraine and Belarus. But this was not enough.

According to the balance of power that had formed at that time in the future international organization, the United States had an absolute majority of votes both in the Security Council and in the General Assembly.

Which, by the way, was confirmed in practice in the future. There are famous cartoons from the Soviet Union, how the General Assembly votes for resolutions.

USSR poster on how to vote in the UN

In addition, specific facts can be cited. For example, Israeli political scientist Yohanan Manor said that US ambassadors in various countries around the world were given instructions: to warn the leadership of countries that refusing to vote to cancel Resolution 3379 could affect these countries' relations with the United States. And this is already blackmail and threats!

Although you don't have to go far: in November 2022, a video was shown where the US monitors how other countries vote in the UN. Of course, it is not really clear in the video what is happening. But our diplomats point out that this is a representative of the US delegation checking and noting the presence of "wards" from among the allies of the "collective West" before the meeting of the Third Committee dedicated to the draft resolution on the fight against the glorification of Nazism. That is, one country - the USA - monitors how other countries vote in the UN.

That's all the democracy you have.

And so the Anglo-Saxons wanted to organize the United Nations. But the wise comrade Stalin did not agree with this and proposed the Security Council, where, in fact, the adoption of major decisions would depend only on a few countries. Andrei Gromyko, the ambassador to the United States who represented the USSR at the time, said that "our country will not give its consent to such a UN Charter that would sow the seeds of new military conflicts between countries."

And the Soviet Union was able to win this diplomatic duel. The Security Council became the main body of the UN.

At first glance, such a structure may seem unfair. Like, why only 5 countries? The fact is that at the end of World War II, these countries, with the exception of France, were the main centers of power that could unleash a new Third World War. Therefore, if the United States had pushed through its decision on the leading role of the General Assembly, it would clearly have infringed on the interests of the USSR, since the United States would have blackmailed countries into voting the way they needed. The Soviet Union would not have tolerated this for long and would have left the UN. And then it would have been much more difficult to reach an agreement.

That is why Stalin proposed a wise solution - the right of veto. The right of veto means that if the country that uses it and that can start a war is not satisfied with something or its interests are violated, then in such a case it is necessary to seek compromises so that everyone is happy. And this device protects the world from wars much more effectively. Well, and naturally it disrupted the West's plans to create a world government. Thus, the world became multipolar. And the USSR became the main enemy of American democracy.

If someone has misconceptions about civilized Europe and the USA, and thinks that their establishment consists of pacifists and supporters of democracy, defenders of human rights, and they created the UN allegedly in the interests of ordinary people, then I will remind you that when the UN Charter was written, which mentioned human rights, equality and freedom, in the USA blacks were prohibited from visiting establishments for whites.

The caption on the photo reads: "Whites only. No pets."

And in Europe there were real human zoos with blacks. Moreover, the USSR had already sent a satellite into space, and in Belgium they still went to the zoo to look at African villages, where instead of animals there were people.

    Human Zoo in Belgium

I also came across an interesting story described in the newspaper "Arguments and Facts" about how "when the USSR sent the dog Laika into space, they knew in advance that she would die. In connection with this, a letter was sent to the UN from animal rights activists from a small town in the state of Mississippi. They demanded that the cruel treatment of dogs in the USSR be condemned and put forward a proposal: if it is necessary to send living creatures into space for scientific research, then in their town there are plenty of... little negroes for this purpose."

This is the end of the 60s.

Before that time, Great Britain, France, and Belgium officially had colonies. What freedoms could these comrades talk about?

So, after the creation of the UN, it turned out that the USSR was essentially alone in opposing the other members of the Security Council: relations with China were spoiled after Stalin's death, and there is nothing to say about the USA, Great Britain, and France. It follows from this that the USSR used the right of veto more than anyone else, which once again confirms the unique foresight of Stalin and his team.

Who used the veto power the most?

And there is a telling joke for this case. When I heard it, Vitaly Churkin was the permanent representative to the Security Council from Russia. Let's leave him. Although the joke earlier clearly featured the Soviet permanent representative.

So, a guy with a machine gun runs into the UN, where a Security Council meeting is taking place, and loudly shouts: "Who's Churkin here?" All the participants in the meeting immediately point their fingers at the representative of Russia. The guy turns to Churkin, reloads his machine gun and says: "Vitaly, get down!"

    WORLD ORDER AFTER 1991
A lot changed in 1991, when the USSR lost the Cold War. And logically there followed attempts to reform the UN - to make it a kind of world government again. To do this, it was necessary to remove Russia from the Security Council or deprive it of its veto power. But such a step would mean a complete collapse of the organization, since the Security Council is a kind of core on which the organization rests. So to speak, its spirit. And Russia must voluntarily give up its veto power. Which is unrealistic.

Therefore, as they say, watch your fingers. What did the US do? How did they get around this problem in order to legally subordinate Russia to their will? There is a whole detective story here.

I have voiced this information many times. Now it will be very useful.

In order to bypass the UN Security Council and officially subordinate Russia to their will, after the USSR lost the Cold War, a new Constitution was adopted in Russia.

As is known, Western advisers helped write the Constitution. Among other things, the United States Agency for International Development helped in this matter, which is indicated on their official website.

The historical and legal roots of our Constitution go back to the Weimar Republic, i.e. defeated Germany after the First World War. Then - to Germany and Austria, essentially also Germany, after the Second World War. All these countries have one thing in common in terms of the basic law - they were written after losing wars. And the constitutions of these countries state that international law should prevail over national law.

The same was written in the Constitution of Russia in 1993.

“International law” is an unclear and elastic concept, so the Supreme Court of Russia has an explanation of what all this means. Namely, it is indicated that “the content of this very international law can be disclosed, in particular, in documents of the United Nations and its specialized agencies.” That is, in addition to various agreements that can be signed or not signed, Russia has undertaken obligations to implement what is disclosed in the documents of the UN and its special agencies.

As is known, Russia can block important UN decisions through the Security Council. And the resolutions of the General Assembly are advisory in nature. That is, it will not be possible to actively manipulate Russia through the UN. Therefore, among other things, it is indicated for Russia that the norms of international law, which for our country according to the Constitution are more important than internal norms, are also disclosed by specialized UN agencies.

What are these institutions? Here they are.

This is, among other things, the International Monetary Fund. Have you heard, yes, that the IMF manages the economy of our country, says to raise the retirement age?

This is also the World Health Organization, which tells how to fight diseases, introduce or not introduce quarantine.

And, by the way, the World Health Organization was created in 1948 by the foundation of the American oligarch, the previously mentioned Rockefeller, on the basis of the International Health Department. This information is provided in a 2013 article in one of the most authoritative international medical journals, The Lancet.

What is most interesting is that, unlike the UN itself, Russia has no influence on these organizations, but has agreed to implement their decisions. And even enshrined this in law. More precisely, this provision was imposed on it after the Cold War.

The IMF is completely controlled by the United States and was created to create demand for the American dollar. Hence, our country, instead of investing income from the sale of natural resources in the development of its economy, has been simply buying up dollars for many years. Which the West has frozen today. Coincidence?

This is the kind of cunning world order that the West has come up with in order to bypass the UN Security Council and govern Russia.

And those amendments to the Constitution that were introduced in 2020, among other things, were aimed at limiting the influence of these international institutions. Remember, the main slogan of the amendments was: "Our country, our Constitution, our rules." So before that, the rules were not ours. Remember one of the main amendments to Article 79 on restrictions on international law? This is all connected.

But the Constitution is a separate topic.

So, as for the UN, the American oligarchs wanted to subjugate the entire world in all spheres. But Stalin did not allow this to happen, having pushed through the possibility of imposing the right of veto on permanent members of the Security Council. This situation still greatly helps Russia today, both physically and morally. Therefore, for the Americans, the Security Council is a bone in the throat, because it means that it is necessary to take into account not only American interests.

And since the Americans cannot reform the UN Security Council in order to legally subjugate the world completely, they simply began to spit on this body, i.e., not to recognize the fundamental part of international law. Here, the evidence can be listed for a long time: this is the bombing of Yugoslavia, Libya, Iraq; sanctions are also, by the way, the prerogative of the Security Council. And they do it unilaterally!
That is, It was the US that spat on international law and began to live by the rule "might is right" - they could not resist the temptation. And thus the US is turning the UN into the League of Nations - an analogue of the UN - which was created after the First World War, but could not keep the world from the Second World War.

Naturally, Russia sees that the UN, like the whole world, as they say, is bursting at the seams. In addition, new centers of power are emerging that need to be taken into account and which do not really like the fact that there are only 5 permanent members of the Security Council. Therefore, Vladimir Putin, even before 2022, several times proposed that the Big Five meet and create a new relevant world order that could continue to keep the world from global wars.

But the problem is that the US oligarchs make money on wars, so Putin's proposal is hanging in the air. Of course, there will be a new world order. Countries will definitely get together and agree. But only when it becomes necessary for everyone. In this case, when America faces a serious threat in economic or military terms. Considering the world's rejection of the dollar, this will happen in the coming years. The UN will be reformed, new counterweights will be developed to keep the world from war, and the planet will live in peace for several decades.

This is the story associated with the United Nations.

On November 20, 1945, in the German city of Nuremberg, the trial of the highest-ranking Nazis of Germany who remained alive and fell into the hands of the Allies after World War II began.

On November 20, 1945, the trial of Germany's highest-ranking Nazis began in the German city of Nuremberg.

⏩ The top of the Third Reich was tried by the victorious countries: the USSR, the USA, Great Britain and France.

⏩ Each of these countries was represented by a judge who decided the fate of the accused and a prosecutor who had to prove their guilt.

⏩ The main prosecutor from the USSR was Roman Andreevich Rudenko, and Ion Timofeevich Nikitchenko was appointed judge.

⏩ The entire trial lasted almost 11 months.

⏩ In essence, the entire government of Hitler's Germany was present at the Nuremberg Trials. The only thing missing was Hitler himself, Himmler and Goebbels, who committed suicide and did not end up in the dock.

    Goebbels, Hitler, Himmler

⏩ The Nuremberg Trials or Tribunal is the most significant, famous and large-scale trial in the history of mankind, before which the Nazis appeared, who unleashed the largest war of mankind, which took tens of millions of human souls.

⏩ Today it is difficult to imagine, but these murderers could have escaped punishment. And they were determined to do so.

As an example, the head of Germany, Emperor Wilhelm II, who, among other things, unleashed the First World War, was not sent to trial and punished. Roughly speaking, civilized Europe then said: "Well, we fought and fought. It's business as usual. Don't wave your fists after the fight." The perpetrators of the war were not tried.

So the Nazis hoped for a similar outcome. At the trial, Hitler's right hand man, Hermann Goering, said that his busts would still stand in every German home. Plus, the Nazis were allowed to defend themselves in court. The defendants had 27 defense attorneys, 54 lawyers, and 67 secretaries. That is, a ton of lawyers.

The Nuremberg list included 24 names, but only 21 defendants sat in the dock.

The most important of whom was Nazi No. 2, Hitler's deputy, Hermann Goering.

    Goering at the Nuremberg Trials

Hermann Goering demonstrated his leadership qualities even in court, he was an excellent speaker and at first he held his own very well, parrying the accusers - prosecutors from the USA, England and France.

When Goering was charged, he asked similar counter questions, like "How are you different from us?".
For example, at that time the USA had already destroyed tens of thousands of civilians in Japan with nuclear bombs. Also, the Anglo-American bombings destroyed 3 million civilians in Germany itself. What is only one Dresden worth, the bombing of which made no sense, as well as Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

    Dresden after the Anglo-American bombing

As for Germany's attack on other countries, Goering justified it by the fact that at that time many European countries still had colonies, which they also did not get peacefully.

And here is what, among other things, Goering responded to the Americans for reproaching the Nazis for seizing territories for living space. "A fight for space? And how did America annex Texas and California? After all, this was also a real war of conquest with the aim of expanding territories."

Goering - about the Jews, and he to the Americans about the blacks, whom the USA first enslaved, and then simply considered second-class and infringed on their rights, almost equating them with animals.
And who helped the Nazis financially and industrially? All the same Americans. So it turned out that the judges were no different from the defendants.

By the way, in connection with this, since the Americans, English and French knew very well that many inconvenient facts would emerge at the trial, including about their assistance to Hitler, they did not want to hold a trial. It was proposed to simply punish the losers of the war in their own way. But this would have been unfair to the USSR. The fact is that the main Nazis, who killed 19 times more Soviet citizens than all the citizens of the USA, Great Britain and France combined, fled and surrendered to these countries.

    Losses in World War II

Soviet Union: More than 27 million dead
    Germany: 6-7 million
USA: 420,000 dead (military operations in Europe and the Pacific).
Great Britain: 450,000 (bombing of London, fighting in Africa and Asia).
Poland: 6 million (including 3 million Jews)
    China: 15–20 million
    Japan: 2.5–3 million
Yugoslavia: 1–1.7 million (guerrilla warfare and ethnic cleansing).
    France: 600,000 (resistance, bombing, deportations).
Italy: 450,000 (civil war after the overthrow of Mussolini).

Soviet Storm: WW2 in the East: https://watchdocumentaries.com/sovie...2-in-the-east/

And this is natural, since they were more afraid of Soviet soldiers.

And it would be unfair if the United States, for example, decided the fate of the executioners who fought against the USSR, and not against the United States. Fortunately, Stalin managed to insist on his own and convince the United States and England to hold a tribunal.

    Stalin:
"Whatever happens, there must be ... an appropriate court decision. Otherwise, people will say that Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin simply took revenge on their political enemies!"

Interesting, right? In the minds of ordinary people, the United States and England are considered legal democratic states, where there is no arbitrariness and everything is decided by a fair court. And these civilized countries, dictator Stalin persuaded to hold a trial. And an open one at that.

The fact is that the British and Americans were initially against journalists at the trial, because again, the world could learn a lot of bad things about the connections of the Anglo-Americans with Hitler. But the Soviet side insisted on an open trial.

The USSR's allies agreed, but on the condition that some facts, such as the Munich Agreement, when civilized Europeans unanimously supported Hitler in absorbing part of Czechoslovakia, would not be brought up in court.

The Munich Agreement, when Europeans unanimously supported Hitler in the absorption of part of Czechoslovakia

Yes, naturally, the USSR did not want to raise some topics, such as the Non-Aggression Pact between Germany and the Soviet Union. But in this regard, claims against the Soviet Union are completely unfounded, since the USSR signed the peace treaty with Germany last of all, after all this squeak of countries.

The Soviet Union signed a peace treaty with Germany after this squeak from countries

And what is important is that Stalin did it, because all attempts to create an anti-Hitler coalition failed. That is, Stalin wanted, proposed, organized an alliance of countries to contain Hitler. But the French and the British did not agree. And only after that the USSR entered into a non-aggression pact with Germany.

Putin himself gave a lecture on this topic several years ago, gathering the leaders of the former republics of the USSR, recalling how the Anglo-Saxons themselves created Hitler.

But let's return to the trial.

Fortunately, the trial, bypassing disagreements, still took place. Every single Nazi declared that they did not consider themselves guilty.

What were the Nazis accused of?
The indictment, prepared by teams of prosecutors from the US, UK, USSR and France, contained four counts:
    ▶️ crimes against peace,
    ▶️ crimes against humanity,
▶️ violation of the laws of war (war crimes)
▶️ and conspiracy to commit these criminal acts.

All prosecutors requested the highest measure of punishment - the death penalty. As already mentioned, the Nazis refused to admit guilt. And then the prosecutors began to work, presenting evidence of the crimes of the defendants.

Yes, the so-called allies presented many bad facts about Hitler's entourage, but as was said, the defendants answered the questions quite deftly. And after the American prosecutor showed the film "The Nazi Plan", exposing the Third Reich (edited by the Americans from the newsreels of the Nazis themselves), Goering laughed and said that now even the prosecutor would want to join the Nazi party.

In general, things were not so bad for the murderers until the USSR, whose representative was Roman Rudenko, came forward with the accusation.

Roman Rudenko - Prosecutor General of the USSR

Roman Rudenko knew about the Nazi atrocities like no one else: Roman Rudenko's older brother died during the liberation of Krakow; another brother, Anton, was wounded in a partisan detachment; the third, Nikolai, went through a concentration camp. Well, and in general, Rudenko, as a prosecutor, saw throughout the war what the aggressors were doing to his country. Therefore, Rudenko approached his duties at the Nuremberg Trials with the utmost seriousness. After which Goering stopped laughing and realized that the matter was extremely serious.

On the 62nd day of the tribunal, the Soviet side presented "Film documents on the atrocities of the German fascist invaders."

"Film documents about the atrocities of the Nazi invaders"

A documentary film that clearly shows what the Nazis did in the USSR and in concentration camps. This film gives a clear answer to the question "What is Nazism?" Simply shocking footage!

To be honest, it's hard to find the words to comment on what is shown in this documentary. The cruelty and inhumanity there are off the charts - it's just pure horror!

The Germans killed children and abused them very brutally, experimented on them. The children were castrated. It’s hard for me to say what happened there, watch the film yourself. They cut off children's noses and ears. And so on.

Just type these words in Russian on the Internet so that you can find this film if none of the links work: Фильм. Кинодокументы о зверствах немецко-фашистских захватчиков (1945) — Видео от Матроскин фильм

It is in the public domain, so anyone can watch it.
But I warn you: the faint of heart should not watch it! This is a kind of quintessence of the horrors of war perpetrated by the Nazis. For example, among other things, it shows mountains, huge mountains of corpses, tortured people, using the most sadistic methods.

Here is what Boris Polevoy, an eyewitness to the screening of this film at the trial, wrote:

“Today the artificial suns were extinguished in the Tribunal hall. It plunged into darkness, and in the dim, shaky light the dead came to the tribunal’s witness stands — those who had long since been incinerated in the ovens of Majdanek, Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Dachau, who had rotted in the monstrous ditches of Babi Yar and Kharkov, who rest in mass graves at the Piskarevskoye Cemetery in Leningrad.

The art of brave Soviet newsreels, some of whom are no longer alive today, resurrected these dead, brought them to this hall. As if rising from their graves, they threw their irrefutable accusations into the faces of the defendants.

And yet it is scary. You want to close your eyes and run. No, no, we must go through all the circles of this hell, look to the very bottom of Nazism, to find out to the end what it promised to humanity.

Here is the basement - corpses, stacked in neat piles, like raw materials are placed in factory warehouses. Yes, this is raw material, already sorted by fat content. Here are severed heads separately in the corner. This is waste. They are unsuitable for soap making. Hitler's science lagged behind the needs of Hitler's reality and did not find a method for the industrial use of human heads... But the dismembered human bodies, placed in vats, they did not have time to cook them in alkali."

Interesting fact: some Western judges at first simply did not believe that Germany was capable of such atrocities and suspected the USSR of deception. For example, American judge Parker could not believe that guards shot children in concentration camps; he believed that such a thing was simply impossible. After watching 45 minutes of newsreel footage from the camps, Parker did not get out of bed for three days.

    Boris Polevoy:
"All of this was really scary, but the scariest thing, as it turned out, was still waiting for us. The stands in the middle of the hall were still unopened. Something massive, covered with sheets, was white on the tables. And then, after the break, the prosecutor tore a napkin off one of these closed objects, and at first there was a puzzled silence in the hall, and then a whisper of horror was heard.

At first, no one understood what was lying on them. It turned out to be human skin in various stages of processing - freshly flayed from a dead person, after fleshing, after tanning, after finishing. And finally, products made from this leather - elegant women's shoes, bags, briefcases, blotters and even jackets. And on the tables are boxes with pieces of human soap of different types - regular, household, baby, liquid, for some technical needs and, finally, toilet soap of different types, different aromas in colorful, beautiful packaging."

It is worth noting that the Nazis approached the extermination of Jews, Slavs and other peoples who had fallen out of favor with German pedantry. Nothing was to be wasted. Women's hair was used for mattresses, fat for soap, skin for handbags, bones were crushed in special crushers and used as fertilizer, gold teeth were melted down and sent to the gold depository of the German bank.

The whole process was carefully calculated: it took 2 marks to destroy and burn a person, and his processing brought in 1631 marks.

The ashes of the burned people served the Germans as fertilizer for growing crops.

And here, by the way, it is important to understand how a regular war differs from the one our grandfathers and great-grandfathers faced.

The Great Patriotic War was not simply against invaders, as it happened more than once. This war was against those who considered us animals, unworthy of life. For them, there was no difference between a pig and a man. Therefore, according to the "Ost" plan, we simply had to be destroyed to free up territory for the Germans. Whether to kill a child or a woman - there was no difference.

This is Nazism, when one race considers itself privileged on the planet. The Great Patriotic War was not for resources and power, as usual. It was for the right to exist.

    Plan "Ost"

In addition, it is very difficult to imagine what those people who were subjected to various experiments went through. Today, people go to the dentist with anxiety, who blows dust off them. And there - what they didn't do! Experiments were conducted like on rats: on children and pregnant women, no one cared about what would happen to the test subjects and what they were experiencing. They inoculated them with various diseases, cut them alive, broke bones, sterilized them.

When they were shown all this evidence of Germany's atrocities, the defendants did not repent and did not admit guilt either. They simply began to declare that they knew nothing about it, that Hitler was to blame for everything, from whom nothing could be asked and whom no one dared to disobey at that time.

    Goering:
"I have always been against war with Russia. When I learned of Hitler's military plans against the USSR, I was simply horrified."

    Hans Frank:
"A system of mass murder. Two thousand victims a day. Gold teeth and rings for the Reichsbank, hair for mattresses! My God! And all this was ordered by one devil who appeared in human form...".

By one devil, i.e. Hitler. And they were allegedly not involved.

    Question:
Do you still maintain that neither Hitler nor you knew anything about the mass extermination of the Jews?
    Answer (Goering):
As for my role, I have already stated that I had no idea of the scale of these events.

    Question:
You did not know of the scale, but you knew that a policy of extermination of the Jews was being carried out?
    Answer (Goering):
No. I knew about the expulsion of the Jews, but not about the extermination. I only knew about cases where excesses were committed.

The Nazis simply lied brazenly at the trial. As for the attack on the USSR, here is what Wilhelm Keitel, the one who demanded the murder of 100 communists for 1 German, the Chief of the Supreme Command of the German Armed Forces, who signed the act of Germany's capitulation, said: "All the preparatory measures we carried out until the spring of 1941 were defensive in nature in case of a possible attack by the Red Army. Thus, the entire war in the East can be called preventive to a certain extent."

In general, the Nazis said that we were not going to attack the USSR, we decided to defend ourselves in advance. And we did not know that people were being brutally exterminated in the occupied territories. It was all Hitler's fault.

But naturally, the prosecutors exposed this lie, presenting the surviving documents, which had the personal signatures of the defendants.

Surviving documents bearing the personal signatures of the defendants

But unfortunately many documents were simply destroyed, which helped some Nazis. This will be discussed further.

As for the attack on the USSR, the fact that it was not a preventive war was explained in detail by one of the developers of the "Barbarossa" plan, i.e. the plan to attack the USSR, the commander of the 6th Army of the Wehrmacht, Friedrich Paulus.

As is known, Paulus was captured near Stalingrad.

    Paulus was captured near Stalingrad

In Germany, they thought that he died a heroic death. They even arranged a lavish funeral for him, attended by the entire top brass of the Third Reich. And at that time, the German general told very important things to the Soviet prosecutor's office.

Later, he was brought to the Nuremberg Tribunal itself, where he exposed many of the Nazis' theses.

    Paulus at the Nuremberg Trials

The prosecutors at this trial did a really hard job: they collected a huge pile of documents confirming the crimes of the defendants, dispelling their lies about innocence.

But still, this was not enough and some Nazis completely escaped any punishment.

The result of the Nuremberg Tribunal.

▶️ Of the 21 Nazis, only 11 were sentenced to death by hanging, these are:

    High-ranking Nazis sentenced to death

Hermann Goering, who did not live to see the gallows and committed suicide by taking poison in his cell.

Ernst Kaltenbrunner - head of the security service and concentration camps, a real executioner.

Joachim von Ribbentrop - German Foreign Minister.

Wilhelm Keitel - Chief of the Supreme Command of the German Armed Forces.

Alfred Rosenberg - the main ideologist of the Third Reich and Minister of the Eastern Occupied Territories.

Interestingly, Rosenberg was born in the Russian Empire, graduated from the Moscow Higher Technical School (MVTU) in 1918, then, in Estonia, he tried to join the German "Volunteer Corps", but was not accepted as a "Russian". Then, of course, he will prove his loyalty to the German nationalists.
It was he who promoted the policy of dividing the Russian people and supporting the nationalists. After the Nuremberg Trials, the West will actively adopt his ideas.

The next person sentenced to death is Hans Frank, the governor of the occupied Polish lands.

Wilhelm Frick, the Minister of the Interior, the Governor-General of all occupied territories.

Julius Streicher, the main anti-Semite and anti-communist of Germany. That is, the one who provided propaganda about the "terrible" communists and Jews, explained to the German people who is a man and who is an animal.

Fritz Sauckel, the one who revived slavery in Europe. The main labor force from among the captured.

Arthur Seyss-Inquart, the commissioner of the occupied Netherlands.

And the last person sentenced to death from among the high-ranking Nazis, Alfred Jodl, the chief of staff of the Supreme Command of the German Army.
By the way, the German authorities will later acquit him.

▶️ The following were sentenced to life imprisonment:

They were sentenced to life imprisonment

Rudolf Hess is Nazi #3, who flew to England before Germany attacked the USSR, after which Hitler attacked the Soviet Union.

It is officially claimed that Hess went crazy and flew to England. In fact, many researchers claim that Hitler personally sent Hess there to negotiate with Britain so that it would not interfere with Germany's war against the USSR.

In the end, that's what happened: the second front was opened only at the end of the war in 1944. This is despite the fact that the war between England and Germany began in 1939. In general, when it became clear that the USSR would defeat Hitler, Britain said that it had not negotiated anything with Hess and had always supported the Soviet Union.

Hess served his sentence in the part of Germany occupied by England. When Gorbachev offered to release him from prison, Hess, a man who could no longer shave himself, hanged himself in his cell.
According to Hess's son, he was hanged by the British secret services so that he would not tell about why he actually flew to England. In addition, the documents about Hess's flight are classified by England and will not be made public.

Here, among other things, is the answer to why Hitler attacked the USSR.
And here it is appropriate to remember that Hitler openly wrote in his book "Mein Kampf" that

"Only with England as an ally, with a covered back, can a new German invasion of Russia be launched."

Also, Walter Funk, the Minister of Economics and the President of the "Reichsbank", was sentenced to life imprisonment.
    In 1957, he was released.

And Erich Roeder - Commander-in-Chief of the German Navy.
He was also released in 1955.

▶️ Four Nazis were sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison.

Four Nazis were sentenced to 10 to 20 years in prison

▶️ And three of the defendants: Hans Fritzsche, Franz von Papen and Hjalmar Schacht were completely acquitted.

    Fully justified Nazis

    Hans Fritzsche - propagandist and Goebbels' favorite;
    von Papen - Nazi diplomat,
and Hjalmar Schacht - in general, the man who created the Third Reich in economic and financial terms - the main banker of the Nazis.

It was he who negotiated financial assistance to Hitler all over the world, he contributed to Hitler's rise to power. But his acquittal was very important for the USA and England, because it was through him that all the financial flows from American and English bankers to Hitler went. And if we say that Schacht is innocent, then it means that Western capital is clean.
Also, German industrialists who made weapons for the war escaped punishment.

They say that even before the Nuremberg Trials, Hjalmar Schacht directly told American prosecutors in a conversation: "If you want to bring charges against our industrialists who helped arm Germany, then you must bring charges against yourselves. You will be obliged to bring charges against the Americans!"

In the end, the so-called allies acquitted Schacht. Fortunately for all of them, documents related to Schacht's activities and Western aid were burned in Munich. They burned for as long as 3 days.

Naturally, the Soviet side did not agree with these sentences. After the verdict was announced, the USSR judge Nikitchenko expressed a dissenting opinion, disagreeing with the acquittal of some Nazis. But, as we know, to no avail. The trial took place in the territory occupied by the Americans, and the defendants were also on the American side, so it was difficult to influence the court's decision.

By the way, the outcome of the trial disappointed Joseph Stalin, the lawyers from the USSR were not even awarded for the work they had done.

▶️ As for other high-ranking Nazis in Germany, some of them, as they say, fled along rat trails to other countries and continents - mainly to South America.

One of these paths passed through the Vatican.
Interesting fact: Pope Benedict XVI served in Nazi Germany.

Pope Benedict XVI served in Nazi Germany.

The escaped criminals even created an organization of former SS members to help each other hide from persecution. Some sources indicate that over 10,000 former German soldiers escaped to South America with the help of the organization of former SS members.

The most famous case is related to Adolf Eichmann.

    Adolf Eichmann

This is a Nazi who is known as the "architect of the Holocaust", in general, the one who was responsible for the extermination of Jews, which resulted in the death of 6 million people. After the war, he managed to hide in Argentina. But in 1960, agents of the Israeli intelligence service "Mossad" kidnapped Eichmann and took him to Israel, where he was executed by court order.

Due to the fact that many Nazis fled to South America, there are rumors that Hitler himself fled with them. But this is a topic for a separate conversation. According to the generally accepted version, Hitler shot himself in his bunker on April 30, 1945, when Soviet soldiers were half a kilometer away from him. After which, at his request, Hitler's body was burned.

▶️ The bulk of the Nazis, after the Red Army approached Berlin, very quickly ran away to surrender to the Americans in order to save themselves. They knew who could protect them. And many of them were right.
As has already been said, three defendants at the main trial in Nuremberg were acquitted.

Other executioners, for example, Eichmann's colleague, who was executed in Israel, Franz Huber, responsible for the death and deportation of hundreds of thousands of Jews, found refuge under the wing of American intelligence.

The same Lieutenant General Reinhard Gehlen, one of the leaders of German intelligence, surrendered to the Americans and began working for them. Moreover, he created the "Gehlen Organization", where he gathered the rest of the Nazi intelligence officers so that they would work for the USA. Later, this organization would turn into the still existing Federal Intelligence Service of Germany.

Later, the "Gehlen Organization" evolved into the still existing German Federal Intelligence Service.

Aleksandras Lileikis, who was involved in the execution of 60,000 Jews, also worked for US intelligence, just like Otto von Bolschwing.

According to some scientists, about a thousand Nazis worked for American intelligence. That is, those who should have been shot.

The US also took out about 500 German scientists, including Wernher von Braun. During the war, the Nazis destroyed the enemy with his rockets, and after the war, von Braun became the father of the American space program.

Wernher von Braun - Nazi, SS officer and "father" of the American space program

He was not a simple scientist-engineer. He is a Nazi! He believed that one nation deserves everything, and another should live like cattle. He was an SS officer and a member of the Nazi party.

Well, and probably the most famous case of how the Americans sheltered the Nazis is Adolf Heusinger. During World War II, he was the chief of the operations department of the General Staff of the ground forces of Nazi Germany. Here he is next to Hitler,

    Adolf Heusinger next to Hitler

and after the war in 1963 he became the chairman of the NATO military committee, i.e. the head of NATO.

Adolf Heusinger - Chief of the Operations Department of the General Staff of the Ground Forces of Nazi Germany and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee

Why did the Americans save the Nazis? Because they had experience in fighting the Soviet Union, and the confrontation with the USSR is much more important than punishing some bloodthirsty executioners. Who, by the way, did nothing bad to the Americans.

Well, let's answer the question honestly, what did Nazi Germany do for the United States? It made the United States the most powerful country in the world. Why shouldn't they like the Nazis after that?

And by the way, this is why Americans regularly vote against the resolution banning the glorification of Nazism.

The US and Ukraine did not support the UN resolution against the glorification of Nazism

Well, how could it be otherwise? After all, Nazism is essentially the brainchild of the Anglo-American establishment. They gave Hitler power, the opportunity to create an army and capture half of Europe.
I will talk about this in detail in my next article about Day P

    dinners.

▶️ In 1951, under the leadership of the United States, i.e. just 6 years after the end of the war, an amnesty was declared for Nazi officials, who could then return to politics in government positions.

▶️ Then a whole series of amnesties took place. Among them:
in 1968, the Dreyer Law was passed. According to this law, the statute of limitations applied to all crimes committed by the Nazis between 1933 and 1945. There is an interesting film "The Collini Case", which tells the story associated with this law.

Here it is necessary to understand that, as in the USSR, every family in Germany was affected by the war and every German had a grandfather or father who was part of the Nazi system. So they began to amnesty themselves.

Thus, 20 years after the war in West Germany, the following had a Nazi past:
    - 20 members of the federal government,
    - 189 generals of the Bundeswehr,
    - 1118 prosecutors and judges,
    - 244 diplomats,
    - 300 high-ranking police officers.

This is how many Nazis not only escaped punishment, but also lived out their lives quite comfortably. They were helped in many ways by their Western partners, who were affected by Hitler's war to an insignificant extent, unlike the USSR. Therefore, Victory Day in the West is not a significant date, it is a simple ordinary day.

Let me remind you that the Nazis killed 27 million Soviet citizens, 14 million of whom were civilians. So that Americans understand, 27 million is if the terrorist attack of September 11 was repeated every day for 24 years.

And finally, I will remind you once again what Victory Day is:

Victory Day is the main holiday of the country.
The day when we defended the right to simply live. To live like people.

In 1941, our country, our Russian nation in the broad sense of the word, was hanging by a thread. But our ancestors managed to do the impossible - to repel the aggression of the collective West.

    Soviet soldier liberator in Berlin.

Monument to the Soviet soldier in Berlin, Dresden Park.

The anthem of the Second World War in Russian which was written during the war is called the Holy War:

I recommend watching this film, it recreates historical accuracy, I like to watch some American films, but I have never seen better Soviet films about the Second World War:

Thanks a lot, Bear ... but:

I am quite unhappy with your answer.

    1. The official history is very well known to everyone.
No need to repeat it -- at all. Not a single link.

    2. Are you not at all interested in real history?

    With curiosity,

We know our history well. You can check any point in my article historically and find it on the Internet, you will find it even on English-language sites to confirm these facts. Now history is being changed abroad and Russia is being crossed out everywhere. What I publish is discussed only among Russians in Russia, I share it with you, I think I will find my audience, even if there is 1 person who is interested in it. Thank you for your comment.

I just ask you not to take information from foreign books that you are taught in school, printed according to the American methodology.

    Thanks Bear,

    I understand!
    I repeat:

There is OFFICIAL history (much of it not true).
And there is -- what REALLY happened.

My apologies, if this is difficult to understand.

the official history of Russia does not correspond to the official history of Europe and America. It is a pity that you do not want to check the information that I publish. So there was one article where I told how Stalin created Israel, they did not even believe me, I found many foreign sites where these facts are stated. I want to say that I was surprised that European censorship has not yet blocked these English-language sites. However, it is your choice what position to take. I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I know one thing, whoever seeks the truth will find it.

For those who are interested, here is the article:

Default The Battle of Stalingrad is the most incredible battle in human history.

The Battle of Stalingrad is the most incredible battle in human history.

Otto von Bismarck about Russia: “Even the most favorable outcome of the war will never lead to the disintegration of the main strength of Russia, which is based on millions of Russians.”

The entire list of articles can be seen at this link: https://projectavalon.net/forum4/sho...=1#post1672458 To subscribe to me, add me as a friend or join the group.

I think each of you has seen films where a wounded or beaten main character at the last moment gathers strength and unexpectedly defeats the enemy.

Something similar happened in late 1942 – early 1943 in Stalingrad.

Here you can see the photos: https://topwar.ru/23731-bitva-za-sta...ografiyah.html

Here, analogies are very important for understanding what happened, so imagine this situation.

A wolfhound is fighting with wolves. A pack of wolves is about to bite the throat of their bloody, exhausted opponent. But at the very last moment, having gathered his last strength, the wolfhound miraculously breaks free, gets up on his paws and begins to unwind the pack of wolves.

But even this allegory does not convey the full meaning of the Battle of Stalingrad.
Everyone has heard about these events one way or another.

The first thing you need to know about the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War is that it was the largest war of mankind.

Or even like this: this is the largest bloody war of our civilization.

The most important events took place between fascist-Nazi Germany - the Third Reich, and communist Russia - the USSR.

The rest of the events in the world in the form of battles and exploits pale in comparison to what happened in the battles between fascist Germany and the USSR.

⛔️ It is very important to know that losing this war meant the destruction of Russia and its people.
⛔️ Gradually, it would be erased from history altogether.
⛔️ We would not exist as a nation.
⛔️ Culture and memory would be destroyed.
⛔️ Our grandfathers would be defeated and humiliated.
⛔️ They would be turned into slaves, into cattle that would have to serve their masters from Europe.
⛔️ And the rest would be destroyed by the most sadistic methods.

To understand what would have happened to the enslaved Soviet peoples, watch the documentary films about the atrocities of the Nazi invaders, which were shown at the Nuremberg Tribunal.

Everything is described there in detail:
    ❌ how soap, gloves, and bags were made from people;
    ❌ how medical experiments were conducted on them;
    ❌ how they were tortured;
❌ how they were exterminated en masse.

Just type these words in Russian on the Internet so that you can find this film if none of the links work: Фильм. Кинодокументы о зверствах немецко-фашистских захватчиков (1945) — Видео от Матроскин фильм

I already talked about this in the article above.

It is in the public domain, so anyone can watch it.
But I warn you: the faint of heart should not watch it!

For the Germans and their satellites, we were an inferior race, some kind of animals that needed to be exterminated.

Before attacking the USSR, Hitler had captured almost all of Europe. And with these ideas, the then European Union, led by Hitler, attacked the USSR in 1941.

The army of the Third Reich, the Wehrmacht, possessing the best weapons in the world and experienced commanders, wins victory after victory, penetrating deeper and deeper into the territory of the Soviet Union.

In just 3 months the enemy reached our capital.

The Battle of Moscow is one of the most important battles in the Great Patriotic War, along with Stalingrad and the defense of Leningrad.

But Moscow had already been surrendered to Napoleon, and this was mainly a political defeat.

The same cannot be said about Stalingrad, the collapse of which also meant economic defeat.

So, the Germans, having reached Moscow, received a good rebuff. But in principle, nothing had been decided yet.

The outcome of the war could have been determined by events in the south of the country.

Any war requires enormous resources, among which one of the most important is fuel, which moves tanks, cars and flies planes.

Deprive the army of gasoline, diesel fuel and aviation fuel and it will immediately stop.

Fuel, like many other components such as lubricants, was and is obtained mainly from oil. The oil fields that supplied the Soviet Union with fuel were located in the Caucasus.
*Siberian oil will be developed later.

And so Hitler decides to seize these deposits, thereby putting a noose around the neck of the Soviet army.

In the southern direction, the Third Reich is doing quite well. After the victory near Kharkov, the Wehrmacht covers tens of kilometers per day almost unhindered.

Now let's look at the map. The south, where the Caucasus is located, and the north of the Soviet Union were connected by the Volga River, along which various goods, including oil, were very actively transported.

On the Volga, so to speak, in the middle of Russia, stands the city of Stalingrad, named in honor of Stalin (former Tsaritsyn).

*During the Civil War, Stalin participated in the defense of the city, which is why the city was named after him.
Stalin, by the way, was categorically against this. Here is his written reaction to this initiative.

By the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, industrialization was actively taking place in Stalingrad, as well as throughout the country, as a result of which such famous factories as
🔴 Traktorny, which produced the T-34 tank,
🔴 Krasny Oktyabr, which produced steel for the country,
🔴 Barrikady, which produced artillery weapons, appeared and were reconstructed.

That is, Stalingrad was literally a city of steel.

And so Hitler decides to capture this city.
And what would have happened if these goals had been realized?

Firstly, it would have turned out that
⛔️ Russia would have been cut in half,
⛔️ would have been cut off from oil fields,
⛔️ would have lost a large industrial center,
⛔️ the fertile southern lands that provided bread and other food.
⛔️ Politically, this would have been a great defeat, because the city named after the commander-in-chief - Stalin - would have fallen.
⛔️ Also, for Hitler, the battle for Stalingrad was a matter of prestige.

    And that is very important.

After the city was captured by the Germans, Türkiye and Japan planned to enter the war against the USSR.

In Turkey, even mobilization has already taken place.

In order for the operation to be successful, Hitler conducts deceptive maneuvers, creating the appearance that the offensive will be carried out elsewhere. And he succeeds.

The leadership of the USSR is deluded, and the army of the Third Reich goes on the offensive on Stalingrad without problems.

And here again feel the full significance of the situation: the summer of 1942, the Soviet army is fighting back with its last strength, mostly unsuccessfully.
The enemy is advancing and sweeping away everything in its path.
Intelligence says that, supposedly, the Germans will throw their main forces to the north, and we need to concentrate our forces there. Which is what happened.
Stalin and the generals were misinformed.

In fact, Hitler went to Stalingrad to dismember Russia, deprive it of large factories, food, a transport route in the form of the Volga River, Caucasian oil. And in general, to show the world that he is invincible.

And for the plan to work 100%, the Fuhrer throws his best 6th Army of the Wehrmacht, numbering 443.14 thousand people under the command of Friedrich Paulus, into this matter.

When numbers are mentioned, they somehow fly past comprehension, and there is no full understanding of WHAT was actually happening.

In our army, there were 4 thousand people in the motorized rifle brigade. When everyone went out onto the parade ground, the scale of this looked quite epic.

And here 443.14 thousand people, almost half a million! They are heading for the city, the number of which at that time was 200 thousand people.

Yes, there were defenders in front of the city. According to archival data, on July 20, the entire Stalingrad front numbered 386 thousand, but it was cut off from Stalingrad and pushed back to the north.

In addition, the Germans had twice as many weapons and tanks, not to mention an almost three-fold superiority in aviation.

This 6th Army of the Wehrmacht took Paris, Warsaw, Kyiv, it fought near Belgorod and Kharkov.
Hitler said that with his beloved 6th Army it is possible to storm the heavens.

The most catastrophic thing is that the attack in this direction was not expected, therefore the defense of Stalingrad was not prepared at the proper level.

Stalingrad itself is a city on the western side of the Volga. That is, exactly on the side from which the enemy is coming.

And it turned out that the defenders of Stalingrad had an enemy on one side, and on the other - the Volga River without bridges.

As a result, hordes of German soldiers and German equipment approach this city, and the most terrible and horrible thing begins.
Actively overcoming the defense before entering the city itself

Hitler orders to simply destroy it, wipe it off the face of the earth with carpet bombing.

At the time of the bombing, there were 200,000 civilians in the city out of the original 400 hundred.

    That is, half were evacuated.
The other half stayed, firstly, because they did not expect such a quick appearance of the enemy.

Secondly, people simply did not want to leave, hoping that the Germans would be stopped. They worked in factories, built defensive structures, camouflaged strategically important objects. Every day, old people, children, and women dug ditches, pulled wire, and prepared strongholds.

On August 23, 1942, Stalingraders heard the roar of aircraft engines in the sky as they dropped thousands of tons of shells on the city.

According to eyewitnesses, there were so many aircraft that they blocked out the sun and almost touched each other with their wings. The earth literally shook. Powerful explosions were heard at intervals of 10-30 seconds.
Today, it is known that 1,200 aircraft attacked the city that day.

From August 23 to November 22, German aircraft carried out an average of 1,000 combat sorties per day.

Stalingrad was bombed for a week, 90% of the buildings were destroyed. That is, the city was essentially liquidated.

Of the 200,000 inhabitants, only 7,500 survived after the Battle of Stalingrad.

And again imagine the situation: the city is burning, it is bombed. The best army of the Wehrmacht is advancing on it, which is going to clean up the remnants of the surviving people.
The German newspapers were already going to write news about the capture of Stalingrad, and Hitler was going to celebrate the victory.

What happened next can only be explained by the fact that God really was with our ancestors.

Receiving some reinforcements, the city's defenders stood to the end. The average life expectancy of a soldier in this battle, as some historians point out, was 24 hours.

The soldiers defended themselves until their last bullet, and when they ran out, they went into a bayonet attack. The sharpened sapper shovels of the Soviet soldiers terrified the Germans.
Let me remind you that there was nowhere to retreat, the Volga was behind them.

Reinforcements and ammunition were arriving from the eastern bank across the Volga in various ways.

Loading ammunition delivered along the Volga to Red Army units. Source: https://gpw-ussr.tilda.ws/part1

The destroyed buildings allow for successful digging and holding positions.

Looking ahead, I will say that the enemy never took Stalingrad, although he had only a few hundred meters to reach the Volga.
As they say, a stone's throw away.

But the defenders of Stalingrad did not allow the Germans to do this.

Mamayev Kurgan is a hill that allowed them to fire at the city and, importantly, the crossings over the Volga, along which reinforcements and ammunition were sent to the defenders of Stalingrad. A very important strategic point.

Mamayev Kurgan changed hands many times and is literally soaked in blood.

Today, 35 thousand people rest there in a mass grave.

❌ In total, the losses in the Battle of Stalingrad, which lasted 200 days,
❌ amount to more than 2.5 million people.
❌ In the Battle of Stalingrad, the USSR lost 1.1 million people,
    ❌ Germany - 1.5 million.

Also think about this figure and imagine it in your head. This is only in one battle!
The entire German army at that time was slightly more than 6 million, and the USSR army - more than 5.

    Now about the actors.
Naturally, I am leaving out and simplifying a lot when talking about this battle. It had a lot of important and heroic events that took place both in the south and in the north.

But I would especially like to highlight such a person as Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov.

    Vasily Ivanovich Chuikov

He was put to defend Stalingrad at the most desperate moment. Look at his photo.

It is in his image that the monument "Stand to the Death" was created in front of the sculpture "Motherland" on Mamayev Kurgan.

Monument "Stand to the Death" on Mamayev Kurgan

The Battle of Stalingrad is the main battle between Russian and Western civilizations.

Where on one side were the Germans, the famous 6th Army under the command of Paulus, on the other side were the Russians defending Stalingrad, this is the 62nd Army under the command of Vasily Chuikov.

Yes, of course, with the Germans were the Croats, Hungarians, Romanians, Italians and other Europeans, and with the Russians were the Tatars, Uzbeks, Bashkirs and other peoples.
And there were also armies like the 64th south of Stalingrad under the command of Shumilov.

But if we isolate, so to speak, the concentrate, in my opinion, here are the Russians under the command of Chuikov and here are the Germans under the command of Paulus.

Now imagine the hell Chuikov and his men found themselves in: a city blown to smithereens, the enemy ahead, the Volga behind.

There is a lot of symbolism here. At that moment, by destroying Chuikov, the Germans were supposed to break the Russian spirit and leave Russia on the sidelines of history. To do this, the enemy only had to go a couple of hundred meters to the Volga.

These hundreds of meters separated Russia and its people from a catastrophe that had never been seen before in history.

As was said, in case of German success, the Turks and Japanese were going to enter the war against the USSR to be among the victors.

And people like Vasily Chuikov broke the back of a truly devilish spawn. Vasily Chuikov was nicknamed "General-Storm".

He is truly a talented commander.

The heroism shown in the battles for Stalingrad can hardly be compared to anything. The fight was for every street, every factory, every house, basement, stairwell.

Chuikov wrote in his memoirs: "This small group, defending one house, destroyed more enemy soldiers than the Nazis lost when they took Paris."

A lot of battles that need to be celebrated in various ways, including Mamayev Kurgan, and the famous Pavlov House, which held the line for 2 months, and the grain elevator.

    Volgograd grain elevator

There are some interesting memories about the elevator by German Wilhelm Hoffman:

▪️ "Summer 1942. We will probably be home before Christmas." (That is, the Germans thought that they would win and go home to rest like victors).

▪️ "September 16. Our battalion attacks the elevator. The battalion has suffered heavy losses. The elevator is occupied not by people, but by devils. And neither bullets nor fire can take them."

▪️ "September 18. The fighting in the elevator continues. If all the buildings are defended as well as this one, not a single German soldier will return home."

▪️ "September 20. The fighting for the elevator is still ongoing."

▪️ "September 22. Russian resistance in the elevator has been suppressed. Our units have moved to the Volga. We counted only 40 Russian corpses in the elevator." (That is, only 4 dozen people held the defense for so long!)

▪️ "October 22. Who could have thought 3 months ago that instead of the joy of victory we would bear such sacrifices and suffer so much, and there is no end to it. The soldiers call Stalingrad the common grave of the Wehrmacht."

A German sign at a bridge in the suburbs of Stalingrad: "Entering Stalingrad is associated with danger to life."

Defense of Pavlov's House in Stalingrad: 25 Soldiers and a Wall of Dead Enemies

    Stalingrad. Pavlov's House (September 27 to November 25, 1942).

Pavlov's House from one shooting point. After the end of the Battle of Stalingrad. In the background is Gerhardt's Mill.

    History in wartime
Pavlov's House is considered a true symbol of the valor and bravery of Soviet soldiers. It is located on Lenin Square (Sovetskaya Street, 39) and has 4 floors. Previously, the square had a different name - January 9.

The defense of Stalingrad began in September 1942. Then several Soviet intelligence officers captured a building in the very center of the city - Pavlov's House. The soldiers acted under the leadership of Sergeant Yakov Pavlov. They captured this particular house, since all the buildings in the city center were destroyed. Only this one survived, from the upper floors of which it was convenient to observe the perimeter. In fact, the house was a strategic point in the matter of observing the enemy, who was located in the city.

Combat weapons were delivered to the house: machine guns, anti-tank guns and ammunition. The house was adapted for conducting a circular defense. To communicate with the firing points, underground passages were made from the building.

The soldiers (25 people) held the defense for 58 days!

Losses on our side - 3 people!

25 people took part in the defense. Among the soldiers was a woman - a medical instructor. During attacks from the enemy side, Maria put aside the first aid kit and took up arms.

The Red Army soldiers fought back through the embrasures in the walls and windows. The house was completely suitable for conducting a circular defense. The third floor was an observation post. Attacks on the building from the German side were carried out daily, several times. But the enemy always received a worthy response in the form of heavy fire.

    A wall of dead enemies
During the long months of defense, an aerial bomb still destroyed one wall of the building. However, the Red Army soldiers did not give up and continued to hold back the onslaught of Hitler's troops.

In November, after multiple raids, Soviet soldiers were forced to retreat. According to their stories, they practically had to clear walls of enemy soldiers' bodies. That same month, the Red Army launched a counteroffensive.

In the end, the Germans were unable to take Stalingrad.

They were unable to advance just a couple of hundred meters before the victorious defeat of the city.

And while the enemy was trying to do this, our military leaders Zhukov and Vasilevsky developed a plan called "Uranus", which was successfully implemented.

As a result, the entire famous 6th Army of the Wehrmacht, which was trying to capture Stalingrad, and Friedrich Paulus himself were surrounded.
    * For your information, Paulus was one of the developers of Operation Barbarossa to capture the USSR and knew a lot.

The Germans surrendered in January 1943.

This is what they looked like.

    Captured German soldiers near Stalingrad

According to the calculations of the Soviet military leaders, we surrounded 90 thousand German soldiers, but in reality there were 330 thousand.
The majority of them died from cold, hunger and disease. Half did not even reach the nearest camp.
6 thousand of these soldiers returned home.

After the victory in Stalingrad, the Soviet Union stood before the world like a bloody wolfhound among the defeated wolves, before whom all other creatures bowed their heads.

✅ Turkey and Japan changed their minds about attacking,
✅ Hitler's satellites began to turn away from him,
✅ The USA and England began to supply us with aid and open a second front.

Before that, they were in no hurry to do this
(and now they say that it was they who won the entire war).

⚠️ In this crucial battle, the Soviet Union broke the back of the fascist Hitlerite European Union all alone.

This battle shows the whole essence of the multinational Russian people. The Battle of Stalingrad is a turning point in the history of all mankind.

The entire Great Patriotic War is a multitude of heroic battles and events. But if we talk about the essence, the most important battle of this war, then it is Stalingrad.

The Battle of Stalingrad is the distillation, a kind of concentrate of this great war.

As a result of this battle, the Red Army firmly seized the strategic initiative and from that moment dictated its will to the enemy.

    As for Chuikov.
▶️ He defended Stalingrad and, according to the tactics he developed, successfully stormed other cities.
    ▶️ Including storming Berlin.
▶️ It was at the command post of V.I. Chuikov On May 2, 1945, the head of the Berlin garrison, General Weidling, signed the capitulation of the German troops and surrendered along with the remnants of the garrison.
▶️ Chuikov rose to the rank of Marshal of the Soviet Union.
    ▶️ He died in 1982.
▶️ And at his request, he was buried on Mamayev Kurgan next to his soldiers.

    As for Paulus.

    Friedrich Paulus

▶️ Then he began to cooperate with the Soviet authorities,
▶️ told all the important information,
▶️ testified at the Nuremberg Tribunal,
    ▶️ became a communist,
    ▶️ began teaching
▶️ and in 1953, after Stalin's death, he returned to the GDR, i.e. the part of Germany controlled by the USSR,
▶️ leaving, he stated that he had arrived in the Soviet Union in blind obedience as an enemy, but was leaving this country as a friend.

Our ancestors won the bloodiest war of civilization.

In 1961 Khrushchev, he renames Stalingrad to Volgograd, erasing all reminders of Stalin.

"An Easy Walk" to the Volga
The battle for Stalingrad began in late August 1942. The city was an important transport hub and a major industrial center: the Germans chose it as one of the main targets of their summer offensive. Having captured the city, they expected to cover their offensive on the Caucasus from the flank. The German soldiers expected a quick victory and were very inspired. Here is what Eduard Koch, a participant in the battle, wrote:

Panzergrenadiers of the 16th Panzer Division of the Wehrmacht, reaching the banks of the Volga. 08/25/1942

"It seemed to us then that the enemy had been finally broken and the end of the war was near. My friend and fellow countryman Heinz was worried that the war would end like that, and he hadn't even been in a serious battle. But the old platoon sergeant major didn't share our enthusiasm, he was gloomy and kept telling us: "What are you happy about, idiots? Since the Russians couldn't be surrounded and destroyed in this devilish steppe, they will all go to Stalingrad and arrange a new Verdun for all of us there." But we laughed among ourselves at the old grumbler."

A German officer with a captured Soviet PPSh in the ruins of Stalingrad

To break the will of the city's defenders, the enemy carried out the most destructive bombing in the history of the Great Patriotic War. The city was reduced to ruins, but the Red Army units continued their stubborn resistance. One German offensive after another was choked in street battles. Thanks to the courage and heroism of Soviet soldiers, all enemy plans were thwarted. This is what German soldier Erich Ott wrote in his diary:

Position of a German machine gun crew in one of the houses in Stalingrad

"We hoped that we would return to Germany before Christmas, that Stalingrad was in our hands. What a great delusion! This city has turned us into a crowd of senseless dead! Stalingrad is hell! The Russians are not like people, they are made of iron, they do not know fatigue, they do not know fear. Sailors, in the bitter cold, go into the attack in striped shirts. Physically and spiritually, one Russian soldier is stronger than our entire company... We stormed a single house for 58 days. We stormed it in vain... None of us will return to Germany unless a miracle happens. And I no longer believe in miracles."

    German soldiers in Stalingrad

    Encirclement
On November 19, 1942, the Red Army launched a counteroffensive near Stalingrad. Already on the third day of Operation Uranus, Soviet troops surrounded the 6th German Army and units of Germany's allies. In total, 300,000 enemy soldiers and officers were trapped in the cauldron. In December 1942, the Germans attempted to break through the encirclement with a powerful tank attack. In heavy fighting, the Soviet defense held out, and all attacks were repelled. Despite a number of defeats, the encircled 6th Army refused to capitulate and continued to resist.

The enemy had to be destroyed, so on January 10, 1943, the Red Army launched Operation Ring. Its main goal was to defeat the enemy's Stalingrad group. By this time, the German army had already begun to gradually disintegrate, and panic had set in among the enemy. Lieutenant Commander Gerhard Rumpfing wrote in his diary:

    German prisoners captured in Stalingrad

"...January 15. Ammunition is completely spent. The front has collapsed in recent days. Everything is abandoned to its fate. No one knows where his regiment, his company is, everyone is left to his own devices. Supplies remain as bad as before, so the moment of defeat cannot be delayed."

The central square of Stalingrad on the day of the capitulation of German troops in the Battle of Stalingrad. 31.01.1943

The Red Army's January offensive was gaining momentum. Soviet infantry advanced with the support of artillery, tanks and aircraft. During the week of Operation Ring, Soviet troops liberated half of the territory captured by the enemy in the cauldron. On January 24, the enemy lost its last airfields, and supplies to the encircled group were practically cut off. The German soldiers' last hopes for outside help, which had given them the moral strength to hold out to the last, were disappearing. Nevertheless, the enemy's resistance continued, and Soviet troops continued to take one stronghold after another by fighting.

The denouement came on January 31, 1943, when the commander of the 6th German Army, Field Marshal Paulus, along with his staff, surrendered. The last battles in Stalingrad ended on February 2, 1943. The Soviet troops treated the defeated enemy humanely. This is what the captured Field Marshal Paulus recalled:

    Field Marshal Paulus surrendered

“Doctors and the command of the Red Army did everything humanly possible to save the lives of the prisoners.”

German prisoners captured near Stalingrad share bread

As a result of Operation Ring, 140,000 enemy soldiers and officers were killed and 91,000 were taken prisoner. The victory at Stalingrad finally shook the Germans' confidence in their superiority. The Red Army command seized the strategic initiative, and all Soviet people were inspired by military successes.

    German Memories of Stalingrad. Letters.

"...Equipped with the most modern weapons, the Russians are inflicting the most brutal blows on us. This is most clearly evident in the battles for Stalingrad. Here we must conquer every meter of land in heavy fighting and make great sacrifices, since the Russians fight stubbornly and fiercely, until their last breath..."
From a letter from Corporal Otto Bauer, p/p 43396 B, to Hermann Kuga. 18.XI.1942

"...Stalingrad is hell on earth, Verdun, red Verdun, with new weapons. We attack daily. If we manage to take 20 meters in the morning, the Russians throw us back in the evening…” From a letter from Corporal Walter Oppermann, 44111, to his brother, 18.11.1942

“…When we arrived in Stalingrad, there were 140 of us, and by September 1, after two weeks of fighting, only 16 remained. All the rest were wounded and killed. We don’t have a single officer, and a non-commissioned officer was forced to take command of the unit. Up to a thousand wounded are taken out of Stalingrad to the rear every day. As you can see, our losses are considerable…”
From a letter from private Heinrich Malchus, 17189, to Corporal Karl Weitzel. 13.11.1942

“…You can’t show yourself from behind cover during the day, otherwise you’ll be shot like a dog. The Russian has a keen and accurate eye. There used to be 180 of us, now there are only 7 left. There used to be 14 machine gunners #1, now there are only two…”
From a letter from machine gunner Adolf to his mother. 18.XI.1942

“…If you had an idea of how quickly the forest of crosses grows! Many soldiers die every day, and you often think: when will your turn come? There are almost no old soldiers left…”
From a letter from non-commissioned officer Rudolf Tihl, commander of the 14th company of the 227th infantry division, to his wife.

“…Yes, here you have to thank God for every hour that you stay alive. Here no one will escape their fate. The most terrible thing is that you have to wait meekly until your time comes. Either on a hospital train to your homeland, or an immediate and terrible death in the other world. Only a few, the lucky ones chosen by God, will safely survive the war at the front near Stalingrad…”
From a letter from soldier Paul Bolze to Maria Smud. 18.11.1942

“…I was at the grave of Hillebrond from Ellers, who was killed near Stalingrad. It is located in a large cemetery where about 300 German soldiers are buried. There are also 18 people from my company there. Such large cemeteries, where only German soldiers are buried, are found almost every kilometer around Stalingrad…” From a letter from corporal August Enders, p/p 41651 A, to his wife. 15.11.1942

“…It’s pure hell here. There are barely 30 people in each company. We’ve never experienced anything like this. Unfortunately, I can’t write everything to you. If fate allows, I’ll tell you about it someday. Stalingrad is a grave for German soldiers. The number of soldiers’ cemeteries is growing…”
From a letter from Corporal Josef Zimach, 27800, to his parents. 20.11.1942

“…December 2. Snow, nothing but snow. The food is disgusting. We’re hungry all the time.
December 6. The portions have been reduced even more…
December 8. The food situation is getting worse. One loaf of bread for seven people. Now we’ll have to switch to horses.
December 12. Today I found a piece of old moldy bread. It was a real treat. We eat only once, when they hand us out food, and then we fast for 24 hours…”
From the diary of NCO Josef Schaffstein, 27547.

“…22–25 November. Russian tanks bypass us and attack us from the flank and rear. Everyone runs in panic. We make a 60-kilometer march across the steppes. We go in the direction of Surovikino. At 11 o’clock Russian tanks and Katyusha attack us. Everyone runs away again.
December 6. The weather is getting worse. Clothes freeze on the body. We haven’t eaten or slept for three days. Fritz tells me a conversation he overheard: the soldiers prefer to defect or surrender…”
From the diary of Feldwebel of the Field Gendarmerie Helmut Megenburg.

“…Yesterday we received vodka. At that time we were just slaughtering a dog, and the vodka came in very handy. Hetty, I have slaughtered four dogs in total already, and my comrades can’t get enough to eat. Once I shot a magpie and boiled it…”
From a letter from soldier Otto Zechtig, 1st company, 1st battalion, 227th infantry regiment, 100th light infantry division, p/p 10521 B, to Hetty Kaminskaya. December 29, 1942.

“…December 26. Today, for the sake of the holiday, we boiled a cat.”
From the notebook of Werner Kley, p/p 18212.

“…November 23. After lunch, we were incredibly shelled by Russian planes. We have never experienced anything like this. And not a single German plane is visible. Is this what you call air superiority?
November 24. After lunch, terrible fire. Our company has lost half of its personnel. Russian tanks are driving around our position, planes are attacking us. We have killed and wounded. It is simply indescribable horror…" From the diary of NCO Hermann Treppman, 2nd Battalion, 670th Infantry Regiment, 371st Infantry Division.

“…November 19. If we lose this war, we will be avenged for everything we have done. Thousands of Russians and Jews have been shot with their wives and children near Kiev and Kharkov. It is simply unbelievable. But that is precisely why we must strain every nerve to win the war.
November 24… We reached Gumrak in the morning. There is real panic there. A continuous stream of cars and convoys are moving from Stalingrad. Houses, food and clothing are being burned. They say we are surrounded. Bombs are exploding all around us. Then comes the news that Kalach, which had been captured by the Germans, is back in Russian hands. Eighteen divisions are allegedly deployed against us. Many have hung their heads. Some are already saying that they will shoot themselves… Returning from Karpovka, we saw units burning clothes and documents…
December 12… Russian planes are becoming increasingly daring. While shelling us with aircraft cannons, they also dropped time bombs. Vogt is killed. Who's next?
January 5. Our division has a cemetery near Stalingrad, where over 1,000 people are buried. It's just awful. People who are now being sent from transport units to the infantry can be considered sentenced to death.
January 15. There is no way out of the cauldron and there won't be. From time to time, mines explode around us…"
From the diary of officer F. P. of the 8th Light Rifle and Machine Gun Park of the 212th Regiment.

"…How wonderfully we could have lived if there hadn't been this damned war! And now we have to wander around this terrible Russia, and for what? When I think about it, I am ready to howl with frustration and rage…”
From a letter from Corporal Arno Beetz, 87th Artillery Regiment, 113th Infantry Division, 28329 D, to his fiancée. December 29, 1942

“…You often ask yourself: what is the point of all this suffering, has humanity gone mad? But you shouldn’t think about it, otherwise strange thoughts come to mind that a German shouldn’t have. But I am saved by the thought that 90% of the soldiers fighting in Russia think about such things.”
From a letter from Corporal Albrecht Otten, 32803, to his wife. January 1, 1943

“…January 15. The front has collapsed in recent days. Everything is left to the mercy of fate. No one knows where his regiment, his company is, everyone is left to his own devices. Supplies remain poor, so the moment of defeat cannot be delayed.
In recent days it has happened like this: we are attacked by six or nine SB-2s or Il-2s with two or three fighters. Before they can disappear, the next ones emerge and drop their bombs on us. Each machine has two or three of these (heavy bombs). This music is heard constantly. At night it should be quieter, but the humming does not stop. These fellows sometimes fly at an altitude of 50-60 m, our anti-aircraft guns are not heard. The ammunition is completely spent. The fellows fire from aircraft reels and sweep our dugouts off the face of the earth. Driving through Gumrak, I saw a crowd of our retreating soldiers, they were dragging themselves along in a variety of uniforms, wrapping themselves in all sorts of clothing, just to keep warm. Suddenly one soldier falls in the snow, others pass by indifferently. No comment!
January 18. ... In Gumrak, along the road and in the fields, in the dugouts and near the dugouts, lie German soldiers who have died of hunger and then frozen ... "

From the diary of a communications officer, Oberleutnant Gerhard Rumpfing, 96th Infantry Regiment of the 44th Infantry Division.

"... In our battalion, in the last two days alone, we lost 60 people killed, wounded and frostbitten, over 30 people fled, there was only ammunition left until the evening, the soldiers had not eaten for three days, many of them have frostbitten feet. We were faced with the question: what to do? On the morning of January 10, we read a leaflet in which the ultimatum was printed. This could not help but influence our decision. We decided to surrender in order to save the lives of our soldiers…” From the testimony of captured Captain Kurt Mandelhelm, commander of the 2nd Battalion of the 518th Infantry Regiment of the 295th Infantry Division, and his adjutant, Lieutenant Karl Gottschalt. I5.I.1943

“…Everyone on the battery – 49 people – read the Soviet ultimatum leaflet.
After reading it, I told my comrades that we were doomed people and that the ultimatum presented to Paulus was a life preserver thrown to us by a magnanimous enemy…”
From the testimony of captured Martin Gander.

“…I read the ultimatum, and a burning anger at our generals boiled up in me. They apparently decided to finally kill us in this damn place. Let the generals and officers fight themselves. I’ve had enough. I’m fed up with war…”
From the testimony of captured Corporal Josef Schwartz, 10th Company, 131st Infantry Regiment, 44th Infantry Division. II.I.1943

“…we’ve been surrounded since November 21. The situation is hopeless, but our commanders don’t want to admit it. Apart from a couple of spoons of horsemeat stew, we get nothing…”
    From a letter from non-commissioned officer R. Schwartz, p/p 02493 S, to his wife. 16.I.1943.

    Kola Superdeep Borehole

    Start of the project
This article is not about space, not about conquering heights, but on the contrary, about how man sought to learn the secrets of the earth's interior. It so happened that this knowledge began at about the same time. 1961, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first person in the world to fly into space. The world space race began. A year later, man had already gone into outer space. The cosmonauts, returning, told how wonderful our planet looks from a height of hundreds of kilometers. However, having soared to unattainable early heights, humanity could not penetrate the earth's crust even by a few hundred meters. Gold crawls out of the Earth's mantle, minerals are born there and diamond rivers flow, sometimes breaking through upwards. We will never know what is there, but it was during the Cold War that the only attempt to reach the Earth's mantle was made.

The United States became the first in 1950. A grand project called Mohole was supposed to drill to the mantle near Mexico on the bottom of the Pacific Ocean...

Under the ocean, the crust is the thinnest, the thickness to the mantle is only 20-25 km instead of 80 kilometers on the continents. But underwater drilling is the most expensive - lower the drill to a depth of 4 kilometers, install the rig and drill another twenty kilometers. A lot of money.

One of the drilling platforms of the closed Mohole project (1968)

And so in 1961, the Americans, temporarily lagging behind the Soviet Union in the space race, decided to head inside the Earth. They decided to drill a well in the Pacific Ocean.
From 1961 to 1966, the Americans tried to implement Mohole. When they made a hole 200 meters deep and extracted ten kilograms of ancient basalt, spending 40 million dollars on it, the US Congress was shocked. And closed the Mohole project because of the insane cost.
So America lost to the Russians. Because in 1970, on the Kola Peninsula, in the wild tundra, the USSR installed a shaft with a giant drill. The drill went down and made its way to the mantle for 20 years. This is how the Kola Superdeep Borehole appeared.
It cost an incredible amount of money, but the USSR was determined to win this underground race for the sake of prestige and all world science. No one knew and knows what is there, in the depths of the Earth, only theories. Such super-deep drilling is equivalent to flying to the stars. It is a journey to nowhere and to no one. A blank sheet and complete uncertainty.
The Russians did not keep waiting long. In the same year, the USSR issued an order to overtake America in deep exploration, to be the first to find out what the earth's crust conceals.

A metallurgical plant was built in the vicinity. They began to mine ore here. The mountains turned into pits. Huge quarries captured areas of hundreds of square kilometers. In the 60s, drillers came here.
The Pechenga region was chosen as one of four places in the Soviet Union where it was decided to drill a well. And not an ordinary one, but a super-deep one. Geophysical exploration reported that it was here that the most ancient rocks were located. A fantastic task was set - to penetrate to a depth of 15 kilometers. And soon the work began to boil.

In 1970, the drill entered the ground, the report began. At that time, no one knew how great the success would be. The work was carried out almost around the clock. The deeper, the harder it was to do. But records followed records. 9 thousand kilometers, 10, 11. In 1989, the Kola borehole was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the deepest hole in the earth's crust. And the deeper the drill went, the more secrets were revealed. The scientific world was shocked. Geologists from all over the world came to the Kola borehole in the USSR. In 1984, at the height of the Cold War, the cream of world science gathered in a militarized zone to see what the Soviet Kola Superdeep Borehole was. And we showed them. Look, soil raised from a depth of 12 kilometers. It is identical to the moon. And another discovery. The bowels of the planet turn out to be much hotter than theorists assumed, 200 degrees Celsius. And at a depth of 9 thousand meters, the drill entered the compote. This is what geologists call a layer of rock rich in precious metals. A whole belt hundreds of meters thick, consisting entirely of gold, platinum and silver. In a word, sensation after sensation. Scientists then said that there is one scientific discovery for every meter. The fame of the polar geologists spread throughout the world.

12 kilometers were completed, drilling was becoming increasingly difficult. At the 13th kilometer, accident followed accident.

    Sounds of Hell
Having drilled a well to 12,200 meters in 20 years, workers came across empty "rooms" in which the temperature reached 1100 degrees Celsius. Having lowered one of the heat-resistant microphones into one of these holes, they recorded the groans, grinding and screams of a huge number of people. These sounds were called the "voice of the underworld", and the well itself began to be called nothing other than the "road to hell".

Rumors began to spread among foreign scientists that the Russians had dug up something supernatural at the 13th kilometer, that they had reached the underworld.
Soviet geologists recorded the voices of hell. In 1989, such headlines were on the front pages of all the world's newspapers. They were talking about an ultra-deep drilling rig on the Kola Peninsula.
The most interesting thing is that the engineer-geologist Dmitry Azzakov disappeared just a few months after the work was stopped. And it was he who made an audio recording of the eerie sounds coming from the well.
In the only interview that Azzakov gave to the newspaper in 1989, the man said the following:
    - The drill, having reached a depth of 12,250 meters, began to spin wildly and easily descend, as if it had reached a large void inside the Earth. We stopped the work and lowered a geodetic thermometer there, which showed 1100 °C, and then simply turned off. After that, we lowered a super-sensitive microphone into this abyss (to listen to the movement of the plates). That's how these sounds of Hell were recorded...

Sounds of Hell recorded at the Kola Superdeep:

What the scientists heard really scared them: terrible and grinding screams, as if emitted by a desperate, exhausted human crowd. According to Azzakov, this was the real reason for stopping the drilling. Everyone was so horrified that they sealed the hole and quickly left this place. Also, the main coincidence is that the collapse of the USSR stopped funding this project.

Moreover, this story was indirectly confirmed by the project manager, David Guberman, who is, by the way, an honored geologist of the RSFSR and a doctor of technical sciences:
    - When I am asked about this mysterious story, I do not know what to answer. On the one hand, stories about a "demon" are nonsense. On the other hand, as an honest scientist, I cannot say that I know what exactly happened to us. Indeed, a very strange noise was recorded, then there was an explosion... A few days later, nothing like this was found at the same depth.

    Project manager Azzakov says:

"As a communist, I don't believe in Heaven or the Bible, but as a scientist, I now believe in hell. Needless to say, we were truly shocked to make such a discovery.
We lowered a microphone into the borehole to record the sound of the lithospheric plates moving. But instead of the plates moving, we heard a screaming human voice, in which there was pain. At first, we thought that the sound was made by our own drilling equipment.
But then, when we adjusted the equipment again, our worst suspicions were confirmed. The screams and cries were not the screams and wails of one person, they were the screams, cries and groans of millions of people."
The audio about the screams from hell lasts exactly 40 seconds, and how much pain and suffering fit into these seconds..

Whether you believe it or not is up to you.

What benefits did drilling the Kola Superdeep Borehole bring?
Drilling the Kola Superdeep Borehole (SG-3 project) brought benefits in the form of scientific discoveries, technological advances and, in some cases, economic significance.

    Scientific discoveries
    • Refutation of the classical three-layer model of the earth's crust. Scientists discovered that instead of the expected basalt layer, metamorphic rocks were found at a depth of about 7 km. This changed the understanding of the structure of the Earth's interior. Many existing theories (including the one about the basalt layer of the earth) were refuted.
    • Discovery of water at great depths. It was believed that there could be no liquid at such levels, but water seeped through cracks in dense rocks.
    • Discovery of traces of ancient life. Fossilized microorganisms were found in rock samples from a depth of more than 6 km, which confirmed the hypothesis that life on Earth could exist in extreme conditions even deep under the planet's surface.
    • Clarification of data on the temperature of the Earth's interior. The actual figures turned out to be much higher than predicted, which provided new data for understanding the heat exchange processes inside the planet.

    Technological achievements
    • Improvement of drilling methods. The project made it possible to develop deep-hole drilling technology, improve equipment for monitoring and controlling the process.
    • Development of new technologies. For example, special alloys for drill bits were created for drilling in conditions of high temperature and pressure, which were encountered at the depth of the well.

    Economic importance
    • Forecast of hidden deposits. The data obtained during drilling began to be used to predict deposits of mineral resources - iron ore, copper, nickel, mica and rare metals not only on the Kola Peninsula, but also in other ancient massifs.

Default Who is forcing insect food on people

Who and why is pushing the idea of insect food on people

Recently, the EU allowed adding insect powder to food products. Representatives of the food industry hint: the future does not belong to beef and chicken, but to insects, which are more profitable to grow. Manufacturers assure that this is a global trend and an environmentally friendly source of protein. A kilogram of cricket meat costs several times less than meat.
The UN has long been discussing the mass introduction of insects into the diet. They say that this is the only way to feed the growing population of the planet. Eating beetles, caterpillars, crickets and other creatures is advertised by Hollywood actors: Salma Hayek, British TV presenter Gordon Ramsay and even actress Nicole Kidman.

Why insect food is being promoted.
    1) Some beetles digest certain types of plastic, others crush it but do not digest it. The beetles are planned to be used to recycle plastic waste, and the larvae and beetles are to be sold to people... As food.

    2) Fly larvae actively process organic waste, they are planned to recycle sewage waste, and the larvae and flies are to be sold to people... As food.

Thus, under the pretext of "ecology", "overpopulation" and "resource shortage", they are planning to first force people to buy garbage they do not need (three layers of packaging, low-quality goods, etc.), making a profit, then charge people money for waste disposal, making a profit, and then sell them insect recyclers, making a profit again. GREAT PLAN.

Insects are planned to be used as raw materials for the production of other "food" products, i.e. don't expect maggots in packages in stores except as a novelty and marketing, no one is going to ask people and insect flour has already been actively added to wheat flour (is there any wheat left?). In the EU, up to a certain percentage of insects in the composition can be omitted. It is also allowed to use them under such an amazing name as "protein", etc., without specifying.

Disputes about chitin. You can read a lot of nonsense about chitin on the Internet from liars of all stripes, both from the side of alleged "conspiracy theorists" and liars-"pop-science". I will tell you the truth.

Chitin is useless for people and is almost not digested, but another matter is the chitin of insects grown on waste. Insects dump toxins into chitin. As you can guess, the diet of waste-disposing insects is contaminated with toxic substances.

Therefore, the chitin of waste-disposing insects is harmful to people. Such chitin decomposes much more actively, because it has a looser structure due to inclusions. The manufacturers will meet the standards (if someone checks) by diluting, not cleaning. Paprin (the production of protein from fungi (mainly Candida), grown on paraffins) and gaprin (the same on gas) are "cleaned" in exactly the same way - the main raw materials for the food industry and animal feed.

Beetles and flies complement each other perfectly: plastic and feces for human food, metals for remelting, etc.

All this will create an almost closed cycle, in which costs are minimal, but people will have to pay, pay, pay, pay, work, work, work and starve.

You can imagine the scope of application of insect "protein", considering that they are supplied to the market in the form of flour: pasta, bakery products, rice (a significant part is produced artificially), meat-containing products and their imitation, yoghurts, etc.

Insect flour will become the main raw material for confectionery products, where waste is traditionally utilized. It is already in use.

    Now you know.

"Since insects process organic waste, they can come into contact with faecal bacteria and viruses, making them potential sources of foodborne infections. Insects can carry Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, as well as parasites, including nematodes and protozoa. Heat treatment reduces this risk, but does not guarantee complete safety,"

Another aspect that is important to consider is the accumulation of toxins and heavy metals, the doctor warned.

"Insects raised in uncontrolled conditions may contain cadmium, lead, mercury and arsenic. These substances accumulate in the chitinous covering and internal organs, which poses a threat to human health, especially with frequent consumption. For example, exceeding permissible levels of cadmium can negatively affect the functioning of the kidneys and the state of the nervous system,"

Also, according to her, the risk of allergic reactions cannot be ruled out.

"The protein structures of insects, especially tropomyosin, arginine kinase and chitinases, are similar to seafood allergens (shrimp, crabs) and dust mites. Depending on the individual characteristics of the body, the reaction may be different: some will get off with itching or mild urticaria, while others may develop Quincke's edema or anaphylactic shock,"
