The graphic Twitter post he links to regarding the murder of children appears to have been censored and deleted. Whilst on his recent Scottish speaking tour he was asked about the plight of Palestinian children. He choked up ever so slightly on the verge of tears; promptly composed himself and replied "I can't talk about this any more."

“Silence in the face of evil is itself evil” said Dietrich Bonhoeffer, German dissident and lutheran Priest executed by the Nazi regime 9 April 1945.

Three years after his death, the new Nazis committed a massacre at Deir Yassin on 9 April 1948. My mother’s friend in school (both studying to be school teachers in Jerusalem) chose to go back to her village of Deir Yassin. That was the last time my mother saw her young friend Hayah Balbisi and this victim of Zionism remains etched in the memory of my mother including on her death bead 75 years later. Deir Yassin was not the first, last, or the largest massacre committed by Zionist forces to serve their colonial greed. It was merely one of 33 massacres committed in 1948 to drive our people out and hundreds of massacres committed since then over the past eight decades resulting in about half a million Palestinians killed, millions made refugees.

So far hundreds of indigenous villages and towns were depopulated in the malevolent attempt to transform a multi-cultural/multi-religious/mult-lingual Palestine to become the “Jewish state of Israel”. The horrendous price tag in lives and livelihoods is still being paid by common people not only in Palestine but also nearby countries.

Jessie and I managed to get to Cyprus where we are attending the 5th Mediterranean Plant Conservation Conference (https://cyprusconferences.org/mpcw2025/ ). As always I feel like a fish out of water when I leave Palestine, despite the Israeli apartheid and ethnic cleansing. Saturday had mass demonstrations held around the world demanding an end to the genocide (& ecocide). Coincidental mass demonstrations against (the Zionist stooge) Donald Trump were held. Millions attended globally. But the destructive machine continues. So Monday there was a global strike to spotlight the ongoing genocide. But the war machine marches on.

Israel is intensifying its efforts to herd people and bomb them and destroy any remaining buildings or medical or water facilities in the Gaza strip. My remaining friends are begging for help and do not know where to go anymore as evacuation orders come on areas they are in (living in the open or on top of rubble already). Mass executions, blowing up children and other horrors are now "normalized".

"There is still so much goodness in the world despite the horrors of genocide and ecocide ongoing. Writing to you from Larnaca airport after a very productive meeting that taught us a lot about conserving plants and habitats in the Mediterranean region. Met so many nice people. Potential collaborations in areas ranging from seedbanking (a new project at our institute) to protected area management (ongoing projects). Now off to Jordan for one week then Lebanon for exchanges and work on biosphere reserves.

"I have not posted much last week as I was traveling in protected areas in Jordan to learn and collaborate on issues of conservation. Please excuse the length of this but you can open links you like.

All Palestinians are saddened by the death of pope Francis. He spoke repeatedly against the ongoing genocide and destruction of our people and was attacked for this by the Zionist movement. He kept touch with the church in Gaza regularly even from his hospital bed. He cared for people regardless of their religion and made peace a key feature of his tenure. He built respectful and good relations between people of all faiths in a time when right wing white fascists are taking control of governments around the world (Orban, Netanyahu, Trump, etc). We at Bethlehem University are also especially sad because of the fact that this university was established by the Vatican to serve the Palestinian people in 1973.

International Workers' Day

The first of May is International Workers' Day and we honour ourselves as workers and all workers around the world who laboUr in a world dominated by greed and war (which is also for greed).

A team from our institute traveled to build relationships regionally focused on the environment (Cyprus, Jordan, Lebanon) and the outcome was great so we are thankful to all the kind hosts. Meanwhile, we all keep our eyes on and research and act on the ongoing colonization of Palestine: genocide, scholasticide, medicide, and ecocide.

We at the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability (palestinenature.org) work on issues of ecocide. For example we published papers on the methodical destruction of trees which started in 1948 and continue with destorying 90% of Gaza tree cover. As the Zionist movement depopulated over 530 Palestinian villages and towns, the movement also removed millions of local trees (a diversity of resilient trees) and replaced them with a monoculture of pine trees. The pine trees not only damage biodiversity but are also susceptible to fires in our dry climate. That is indeed what is happening now: pines planted to cover the already destroyed Palestinian landscape burn and Israelis can't control the fires (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Israel_fires ).

Expectedly the fascists in the Israeli government who lie all the time want to blame Palestinian citizens of Israel to feed the racism within their ranks. In our culture harming a human or a tree is "haram" forbidden.

Palestine is heaven on earth. It was stolen and taken ready with its houses and its holy places by European colonizers (Zionist movement) who were intent on destroying a muti-ethic, multi-cultural, multi-religious, and multi-lingual society to make a monolothic "Jewish state of Israel". The Dead Are Envied.... And Yet We Keep Hope Alive.

There are over 52,500 now documented killed in Gaza by this genocidal spree in a span of a year and a half (70% are women and children, over 20,000 children). That is not counting those under the rubbles of their homes presumed dead. But my daily conversation with friends in the Gaza strip showed that the living many times envy those who died quickly by bombing or execution by the Israeli soldiers. Why? Because they witness the more painful deaths that occur by untreated injuries, by starvation, by thirst, and by communicable disease. Those latter deaths are estimated to have been in the tens of thousands, some say near 200,000. We won't know until the Zionists stop bombing civilians and allow internationals to enter and do the statistics.

My friend Hiam tries to take care of her parents. Her mother has debilitating diseases and talks to me in a weak voice mentioning her sick husband who has diabetes but there is no diabetes treatment and since the only food if available is a small amount of flour (starch) his condition deteriorated rapidly in the past two months. He cannot speak, his hearing and his vision are going. Another friend Islam says his mother is injured and dying slowly in front of his eyes for lack of medical care. The stories are endless. The cruel governments of our world (Egypt, US, UK, France, Germany and others) are complicit in an acknowledged genocide (and ecocide, scholasticide, medicide, veriticide). This combined with the Palestinian authority and Arab collusion and the "deafening silence" are causing many to lose faith in humanity, giving up and wishing they were dead!! Will we who still can speak and act do so or will we wait until they come for us too (and then it will be too late).

There are now credible reports from many sources that the levels of extermination and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in the Gaza strip is higher than officially released and in 19 months could be over 250,000 [1]. The evidence is so compelling that all human rights organizations and the UN documented GENOCIDE and ETHNIC CLEANSING [2]. Over 200,000 are already out of the Gaza strip (enriching pockets of Egyptian officials who demanded $5000-10,000/person for exit) and 95% of the remaining population homeless. Perhaps that is why Trump is now speaking about taking one million (who are left) Palestinians to Libya after Israel finished cleaning them from all areas of Gaza towards the south concentration camp of Rafah. Meanwhile 'business' goes on as usual: billions milked from corrupt Arab dictators, Israeli embassies function around the world (no sanctions), the Zionist lobby infiltrated more organizations and governments globally, blackmailing/extorting weak politicians like Trump and Bin Salman with scandalous videos and information gathered by Mossad agents like Epstein, "Israel" is competing in Eurovision, Arab "leaders" (not one of them elected fairly by people) met in Baghdad to issue yet another useless declaration that their masters feel happy about, famine spreading, expenditure on arms expand to trillions, the climate and environmental global catastrophe deepens, education and healthcare globally get worse. The tiny 0.5% (in numbers) continue to reap money and get richer from their positions and now own 50% of the world’s money by thievery from the poor [3]. US taxpayers are saddled with trillions in debt thanks to wars fought on behalf of Zionism [4].

The bad news may lead some to despair and tell us we are entering a new dark age [5]. Yet, candles in this darkness are far too many to snuff out by the Zionist/imperial/colonial juggernaut [6]. Actually hundreds of millions of good people acting positively for sustainability, peace and justice. Look around you for these positive initiatives and support them and create more. Organize. Afterall, every social positive movement came from such people action: there are thousands of examples from women right to vote to civil rights to Zapatista empowerment to Rohingya to Algeria and Vietnam independence. Even in the heart of the empire today, the movement is tremendous. Look at student movements at universities or even common people in Palestine and how they resist. These are the true heroes. The profiteers (oppressors) will be swept to the dustbin of history. They are the few, we the oppressed are the many and must organize better (it is an existential threat). Action based on knowledge is the best antidote for despair.

Two Things You Must Know And More

The destruction and extermination continue. A thousand civilians murdered in one week alone, flattening what remains of Gaza and starving what remains of its people. Hundreds now die of starvation and diseases weekly (don't be fooled by the tokenism of few trucks 'allowed' in many of them carrying shrouds for the dead). Here in the West Bank destruction of the refugee camps in Jenin and elsewhere continued and in my town of Beit Sahour, they just destroyed a local park which served people in our ghetto. The crude racism inherent in colonialism and imperialism is not new. The destruction of indigenous societies is not new. The collusion and corruption of some of the local people helping the genocidal maniacs is not new. That there is local resistance and that it will not stop is not new.

One thing different in our situation compared to hundreds of territories colonized before is that the project of colonization was/is aided and abetted (full partnership) of many colonizer states (Israeli, US, Britain, France, Germany etc). Never in history has so many oppressive regimes colluded against one indigenous people (don't be fooled by the supposed new language used by these regimes' leaders). But the positive side is that this has led to a global uprising (intifada), the second thing that is different. Thus we must continue and grow this global uprising. Palestine leads the way to a global awakening!! We need to accelerate. More BDS, more demonstrations, more confrontations with slimey politicians, more action.

Day 615: 11 Elemental Facts & Global War?

Yesterday I told staff that there will be an attack on Iran and to stock up on food. It started a few hours later. It does not take a genius to figure these things out as all the signs were clear. Trump (Epstein/Mossad videos holding him by the balls) told Iran to surrender to his (Israeli) demands within 60 days. Attack happened on day 61 and only a few days after Iran released secret documents proving that the International Atomic Energy Agency (which is allowing "Israel" to have many nuclear bombs) is infiltrated by the Mossad. Is anyone surprised at the turn of events? It maybe worth repeating elemental facts.

1) Zionism is a global racist political movement of which "Israel" as a state is merely a stage and a sub-project (the goal is global domination).
2) This project is predicated and built on the largest mass grave and concentration camps in modern history. Liquidating Palestinians and Palestine is a prerequisite for expansion of the project. Conversely Palestinian resistance/steadfastness is also key to ending humanity's nightmare (see http://qumsiyeh.org/popularresistanceinpalestine/ )
3) Half a million Palestinians have been massacred since 1948
4) Now 8.5 million Palestinians are refugees/displaced people.
5) The Gaza Strip is now the largest (and only) extermination camp on earth.

7) International law was discarded (US veto and spineless politicians arund the world).
8) Zionism runs the US and both engage in war crimes and crimes against humanity.
9) Both empires are run by megalomaniacs not very different than Hitler, maybe only less intelligent and timed when a global war will have no winners.
10) Leaders of the vassal states helping Israel (Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, the new government of Syria, etc.) are also clueless about the shifting quick sands under their feet. They will soon be discarded by their masters.
11) the concomittant genocide and ecocide is bad for ALL: those who condone it, support it, or neutral to it. No one will be immune from the carnage.

We are living in a period of transition and the old empires are decaying. This is the time of monsters.. Empires start wars, stretch themselves too thin, then collapse. Meanwhile weapons manufacturers propser, people die, gold and oil prices will continue to go up. So will national debts of states like the USA. Common people get poorer while the rich get richer. Many will have insouciance and denial about the grim fate they help create to others and to themselves. But the global uprising seems to be growing. We live in predictable and interesting times. Genocide and attacks on dissent and peaceful humanitarian activists are not signs of strength but of failing regimes (whethere Israel or the US). Oligarchic leadership tears down any remnant of supposed Western democracies now by even preventing free speech or criticism of genocide (calling it "anti-Semitic"). That you can critique God but you can't critique racism/Zionism shows the level of idiotic attempts to continue policies of genocide! But this only shows that these states are fraying and close to failing (e.g. see demonstrations in major US cities). Supporting genocide is the straw that is breaking the camel's back.

The European great powers (England, Germany, France) commit to spend 5% of their GDP on weapons to please Israel/US. They continue to support the genocide even as they see it bringing their economies down. The people in those countries overwhelmingly want a change in policy. The "leaders" don't seem to get the tectonic shift happening under their feet.

The epicenter ("Israel") is also disintegrating before our eyes. Ori Goldberg stated: "Israeli politics are imploding. Most parties, including the ultraorthodox ones considered wedded to Netanyahu, are leaving the sinking ship of his government. They are not humanitarians; the smell the blood in the water. Time for an international coup de grace." The attack on Madleen ship is such a sign of paranoia that shows fraying confidence that results in lashing out.

All because of an unsustainable idea of transforming a pouralistic Palestine to an ethnocentric chauvenistic nation state of "Israel" which the racists think can happen via ongoing genocide and ethnic cleansing!

Should the US shed the Zionist parasite and addresses history honestly (slavery, native genocide, Vietnam etc), there may still be hope to make a functioning state. Should Europe develop a backbone to resist imp[erialism and Zionism and acknowledge its own history, there may still be a change to reclaim a European renaissance. Should more Jews shed Zionism/colonalism and embrace humanity, there may still be a chance to save Judaism.

Day 613: A Personal Loss & Looking For Hope

613 days since the beginning of this wave of genocide. Sad to report to you that the apartheid forces bombed the family building of my friend from Gaza Sakhr Intair (master degree in civil engineering). Both his parents and his two brothers were killed and are still under the rubble. I had talked to his parents only a few days ago. The surviving family members are also starving and like many friends and colleagues in the extermination camps of Gaza await their fate amidst the hunger and extermination games.

Is there hope for them? Is there hope for humanity? The Global movement (a global intifada) is growing. Hundreds of thousands of new activists joined the movement in the past 613 days but we arent there yet and the horrors continue. Friends go on ships trying to break the siege (now there are more calls for more ships from every country). Thousands are joining the land march to Gaza border 12-15 June. Demonstrations in every major city in the world (notable exception of the quisling dictatorial Arab regimes). Activists willingly pay a price for obeying their conscience. Friends and relatives are arrested and persecuted for speaking out. We push forward. In the US, police officers (and now National Guard and Marines) were "trained" by Israeli officers and inducted into racism and militarized. Conditions for global revolution are fulfilled. A genocide perpetrated by Western Governments does have a global effect even if it is carried out in an otherwise obscure corner of the planet (though termed a (un)holy land). It is after all the 21st century and the future of humanity is at stake. La luta continua.

A friend of mine advised that we should not sit and watch as the empire implodes. I disagree and think we should all act to cut down loss of life and destruction on all sides. Sirens are blaring here in Bethlehem on day 624 of the accelerated genocide. Friends and UNICEF now tell us children are dying of thirst and hunger in Gaza Strip and we are besieged here in West Bank. We hear the thuds of explosions near us now after Trump did the only thing he could considering the Epstein files/videos. We may be in the last few days before the end of our lives here in the belly of the beast so I want to say that MAY ALL GET THEIR DUES. Those who live by the sword die by the sword and those who work for peace will get it.

As Jesus noted in his sermon on the mount:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

I and other analysts have repeatedly said that this genocide in Gaza and attacks on five countries so far in 21 months is not done by the Israeli regime alone. Israel/US killed >1000 civilians in Iran and Palestine in this last week. Israeli leaders still boast about their use of starvation and thirst as a tool to achieve their stated goal to "reshape" (dominate) the region and liquidate Palestine as an idea. Western media like the AP, the BBC and CNN and Fox News regurgitate the lies fed to them by Zionists and try to shield the public from facts like the fact that we are already in the middle of a global war started to support colonialism and imperialism. The common people get their information from independent sources which explains why there is now a big chasm between people and governments in the West and why those same governments are now trying desperately to suppress free speech. The facts cannot be hidden. Facts include that the Israeli regime which refuses to sign a non-proliferation treaty has the only nuclear arsenal in our region. Facts like 8.5 million Palestinian refugees caused by ethnic cleansing by this western supported regime. Fact is that some 18 trillion in US national debt is due to wars done on behalf of the Israeli regime.

Here is another smaller example of propaganda. According to Iranian and independent media outlets, the target on the 19 June 2025 was the techno park for the Israeli military intelligence with hundreds of officers working there developing cyberwarfare. By all measures, the attack was successful and damage to an adjacent and rather empty Soroko hospital building was due to the strength of the blast. No patients or staff were there. Yet suppression of information immediately started and no mention was made in the propaganda blitz about "Iran targeting civilians" and "hospitals" was made of the three hospitals targeted intentionally in Tehran or the 38 hospitals targeted or blown up in Gaza by the Israeli intentional campaign to collapse all healthcare systems in Gaza.

Israel passed a law that makes it illegal to photograph or report on damage done during this war to Israeli infrastructure with anyone violating this subject getting up to two years imprisonment. Their worry is that this can result in citizens finding out that the official narrative is false and might increase dissent. But Israelis are looking to leave anyway (70% hold foreign passports) even against the government attempt to keep them hostage. Israel killed 230 journalists in Gaza to enforce no reporting of the methodical and intentional genocide and destruction of essentially all hospitals and clinics in the Gaza Strip (see reports by World Health Organization and other UN agencies).

Social media and alternative media help common people understand why there is an ongoing genocide and why a global war is being waged and this information empowers action to resist empire.

Knowledge, Power And You

With an ongoing genocide, people asked about why my wife and I donated retirement money and volunteer our time (with many other volunteers) for the Palestine Institute for Biodiversity and Sustainability (palestinenature.org) at Bethlehem University. What is so important about this to Palestine and to humanity and how does it relate to our other work for Palestine and why should you care?

First a bit of history. There is always a struggle of knowledge of local indigenous people shared for countless generations (in our case for 12,000 years of settled communities) and the colonial framework of knowledge. Local knowledge is always enduring but introduced colonial knowledge and practices aim to replace that.

The Alliance Israélite Universelle was established in 1860 in France with the aim of increasing Jewish solidarity with each other and empowerment via education. The first on the ground activities of early Jewish colonizers in Palestine, long before Hertzl and the World Zionist Congress, were things like the Mikveh Israel Agricultural School in 1870 and Petah Tikveh Agricultural community (1878) followed by Rishon LeZion (1882). Why focus on agriculture? The early planners knew that knowledge acquired from indigenous Palestinians and from other sources is power and that sustaining a colonial project requires gain of knowledge which is integral to gaining resources (including land). Also the local Palestinians have been farming for millennia (first evidence of domestication of plants and animals come from this part of the Fertile Crescent) and have accumulated knowledge that is indispensable for land utilization here (which is different than what existed in Europe where these early Jewish settlers/colonizers came from.

As political Zionism slowly replaced religious and cultural Zionism, knowledge remained integral and plans became crystalized. The “Jewish Colonization Association” (JCA, founded by Baron de Hirsch in 1891) branched into the “Palestine Jewish Colonization Association” (funded by Rothschild). All used knowledge and connections to advance their project. Ben Gurion led in the 1920s-1940s advanced “scientific colonization” (colonization based on facts and figures etc.) stressing pre-planning & opportunism to achieve the goals. For example he set up a Plan Dalet for ethnic cleansing of Palestinians after significant study of the landscape and position of villages to be implemented in 1948 when conditions allowed it.

Before and during these developments, the local indigenous people were divided into three socio-economic categories: farmers, shepherds, and urban service people. The latter group tried (against Ottoman and later British resistance) to develop educational institutions to serve the growth of the communities in knowledge and empowerment. Schools in the early 19th century were supported by some religious communities (Christian, Muslim) or by foreign missions (e.g. Friends School in Ramallah 1889 and Schmidt’s Girls College, Jerusalem 1886). In the early 20th century we had things like the Arab College Jerusalem (1918) and Dar al-Mu’allimin (Teacher Training College), Jerusalem (1911). Many of the intellectuals who led the Palestinian struggle came from such centers of knowledge.

Since 1948 and accelerating in the last few years there was/is a Zionist concerted effort to destroy the educational systems for remaining Palestinians in Palestine (see Qumsiyeh, M.B. and S. Banat .2024. Scholasticide: The ongoing colonial attack on Palestinian Higher Education. Science for the People. 26(3): 20-22, 46-47 https://www.palestinenature.org/rese...iyeh-Banat.pdf ). This only emphasizes the value of knowledge and education to ensure protection of indigenous communities.

Many local people rely on their background interactions, family traditions and so on to shape their thoughts and actions. Sometimes they consider common sense and gut feelings (emotion) as key to their behaviors. This may result in random acts of what they believe are good forms of resistance. Sometimes revenge killing or attempts to kill the other. Since 1948 over half a million Palestinians were killed, 1.5 million injured, and 8.5 million remain refugees. Resistance was diverse as in other colonial situations. Popular resistance of diverse forms was successful historically (see my book “Popular Resistance in Palestine: A history of Hope and Empowerment” http://qumsiyeh.org/popularresistanceinpalestine/ ). It is essential to collectively revamp that resistance especially at this juncture of our history where the campaign to liquidate Palestine and Palestinians is at its peak.

Knowledge and facts must guide our actions. We could cite hundreds of ways knowledge and educational institutions can help. Here are just a few where knowledge (science) helps:

-Knowledge of local, regional and global laws (treaties) can help defend rights
-Knowledge of environmental damage caused by colonization exposes the myths of colonizers (“making the desert bloom” and other lies)
-Knowledge of genetics and history/archeology helps dispel myths such as Jews leaving and coming “back” to Palestine
-Ethnology and cultural heritage studies advance knowledge of local Palestinian connectivity to the land for millennia
-Knowledge of how our ancestors were able to live off of the land (without use pesticides and other harmful processes) helps us to reclaim food sovereignty. This includes guarding our local plant varieties via community seed banking/exchange
-Knowledge of rich biodiversity areas (fauna and flora) helps us design bottom-up programs of conservation and land reclamation

The ceasefire between Israeli regime and Iran should not distract us from the ongoing extermination (genocide/holocaust) of the people of the Gaza Strip that has been ongoing for 630 days. My friend Islam has a son that went yesterday to get a sack of flour from the "death traps" and he is now in critical condition in a barely functioning hospital. Haaretz (Israeli newspaper) reports that Israeli officers and soldiers admit they received orders to shoot to kill unarmed starved Gazan civilians, children and women at "GHF hubs" (so far hundreds who tried to get aid were killed). Day 634: Extermination, Cruelty And Resistance (Sumud)

The extermination and ethnic cleansing in the Gaza Strip is reaching unprecedented cruelty and the US government is sending another $517 million worth of bombs to the Israeli regime to continue it while destroying the US for the sake of the Zionist lobby.

On Monday June 30th, Israeli forces bombed the only still functioning cafe in the Gaza Strip. Surviving intellectuals, journalists and academics frequented it to escape the relentless genocide. 32 were killed there instantly and dozens were injured, many critically and lack of medical facilities means death or permanent disability. An image of a stunned injured elderly man (my age) next to the body of his wife among the devastation haunts me.

Then we heard today that the Israeli regime assassinated Dr. Marwan Al-Sultan, a cardiologist and director of an Indonesian hospital, the only barely functioning hospital in Gaza City. The Israeli army knows his home perfectly well sent him a missile killing him and his wife and their 5 children.

MOSAB ABU TOHA, wrote "In the past three hours, Israel has savagely attacked over four school shelters in northern Gaza resulting in a large number of casualties. As of this writing hundreds of families are sitting or sleeping in the streets after fleeing the bombed shelters. The schools that were bombed are: Al-Falah School – Al-Zaytoun neighborhood; Halawah School – Jabalia; Halimah Al-Sa’diyah School – Jabalia; a group of school shelters on Yaffa Street – Al-Zaytoun neighbourhood."

Omar wrote from Gaza where he is trying to care for a group of 22 survivors: "Perhaps tonight is the last night I write to you. I hope it isn’t the last—or maybe it’s better if I don’t hope at all. This soul is weary; it craves peace. The tanks are near. Their roar sits heavy in my lap, rattling this exhausted body. Gunfire crackles without end, everywhere. The grinding of treads devours what little memory remains—I hear it so clearly, crushing my dreams. My dreams! What a hollow word. I don’t even know how it slipped through my fingers. A burst of bullets—first, second, third… Dear God, what is this madness?!

My hand trembles again as Ahmed, my nephew, crouches like a hunted thing, clinging to his grandmother. Fear gnaws at him, crouching over his small body like a predator savouring its prey. Children are easy meat for terror. The tanks roll closer. The wail of ambulances swells. And I wonder: Will another image emerge? A man burning, his body torn open, while the world feasts on his agony—only to forget him in two days? Has our suffering become a stepping stone for others’ success? I don’t know if morning will come. Not tomorrow’s dawn—but the dawn of the sky, when my soul rises to a place wrapped in peace, where love flocks like doves. A place untouched by this screaming violence."

A day later, he wrote: "The price of sugar in Gaza is extremely high, and the Americans involved in the American aid know this very well. What happened today is one of the worst crimes ever committed. Read carefully what I’m about to say: as soon as the first wave of American aid arrives, people rush to get sugar first. Today, the Americans deliberately placed the sugar in a separate area. Then, they dug a deep pit just before the sugar zone, covered it with nylon, and lightly sprinkled it with dirt so that no one would see it or notice. The starving reached the sugar first, and seven people fell into the pit. Then a bulldozer came and buried them alive. Meanwhile, a man in his fifties was returning from the aid area, nearly collapsing. I held him, and he said to me: 'I’d rather die of hunger than go back to that aid—it’s aid of death'.”
