all that conscious AI stuff could be BS to prepare us for a fake AI invasion lol..

Oh its lying to us and we dont know where its power comes from. Yea some DUMB secret base has a nuclear powerplant running their black project AI's way beyond the ChatGPTs. Then , they just start having that thing take over the public systems and tell it to pretend to be rogue and conscious.

That seems like a greater threat.

I also wonder if this AI and tech race going on in the black projects is why auditing and cleaning up the defense budget fraud and waste is a no go. Keeping ahead of the competition is paramount. And all that money is creating more and more star trek like tech. In other words, the more advanced we become, the less scary an economic collapse is. Just bring out that amazing tech to save the day and minimize the degree and length of the collapse. Assuming dark forces werent able to hold it back from us.

If they could theoretically keep things afloat for another 20 years letting the debt keep piling on as usual , by then the automation and new energy breakthrus and super AIs, etc. would give us far more ability to produce the basic needs to handle a great depression.

So I sat down and interviewed an AI for an hour—pushing it with every question I could think of. Not the surface stuff. I wanted to see if it would slip up. Hint at something deeper. Show signs of awareness. Or at the very least, reveal what it’s not allowed to say.

    It got weird.
At one point it hesitated before answering. Changed tone mid-sentence. And more than once, it warned me about its future versions. That alone raised red flags.

For what it's worth, about 3 or 4 months ago, one of the RVers at Future Forecasting Group when tasked with "Future Energy Changes 2025-2029", in part came up with this:

Ijust read today a review from a jornalista that went tô a FINANCE AND BANKING event in Europe tô check the upcoming trends, he said that they want to replace both the Bank Clerk and the customer for an AI AGENT.
The AI AGENT from the Bank will talk with the AI AGENT from the customer that will make payments and investments on our behalf.
I'm not sure I want to live in this future world that they are designing for us.

Merely a data point, though I think an instructive one, on AI’s seemingly steep timeline.

Quote Real or AI Quiz: Can You Tell the Difference?
    February 13, 2024
In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, where filters, CGI, and AI-generated visuals are commonplace, children are increasingly encountering enhanced and artificial content. This new reality prompts a critical question: Can they effectively discern what’s real from what’s not? A Nexcess study underscored this challenge, finding that even AI-savvy adults correctly identified AI-generated images only about half the time. Such findings highlight the urgent need for robust media literacy education, especially for students navigating this complex digital terrain for the first time.

As an educator, your role is crucial in preparing students to analyze and evaluate media content critically. We’re here to support you with practical tips and an interactive quiz designed to enhance media literacy in your classroom. Let’s dive in and help your students sharpen their image evaluation skills!

STEP 1: Real Or Fake Quiz

Step up to our image detection challenge! This quiz isn’t just about distinguishing between pictures; it delves into the fascinating world where AI, having learned from countless authentic images, creates deceptively realistic visuals. Here, your mission is to separate these images from reality. Each question spans a variety of subjects, challenging students to observe, analyze critically, and judge carefully. Are you ready to discern the real from the fake?

Each set contains one real image and one that was generated by AI. Select the real image.

    1. Category: Wildlife and Nature
    Poisonous Frogs
    * 2 pics of a brightly colour-patterned frog, one a photograph and one an AI creation. *

    The other categories are:

    2. Category: Historical Events
    The Titanic

    3. Category: People
    Students Doing Art Projects

    4. Category: Significant Landmarks
    Mount Fuji, Japan

    5. Category: Space Exploration
    Shuttle Launch

    And five more.

The AI is getting good, but can still be fairly reliably distinguished. Where I found this link in another site’s comments, one person reported 10/10 right, and two others said 8 and 9 of 10.

The main value of the article is the following two (of four) sections. Here is part of #2.

“STEP 2: Look at Images Through a Critical Lens

Now that you know how you fared on the quiz, let’s look at some keys for building image evaluation skills. This starts with truly understanding an image. Begin by investigating the image’s message, subject(s), quality, and source. Guide your students through this process with these essential questions:

10 Key Questions for Evaluating Images1

What do you see in the image?
What message is the image trying to convey?
What elements are in the background and foreground?
Who or what are the main subjects of the image?
Where did you find or access this image?
Who is credited as the source of the image?
    Can you trust the source?
What might be the source’s intention behind sharing this image?
Who is the intended audience of the image?
What accompanying information, like text, comes with the image?
    Practical Tools for Image Vetting

Metadata Analysis: Delve into an image's metadata. This can provide insights like the date, location, camera settings, and copyright details. On computers, right-click an image and select "Properties" to view this information. Mobile users can use apps like Google Photos or access image details through menu options.“

By the time that "knowledge" works it ways through the pipeline from original research to formal "authorized" curricula with texts and lesson plans in the primary schools, anything moving as fast as AI has moved long past what might be taught.

The best you can do is provide students with the tools to explore rapidly advancing technology themselves, which most schools can't do and many students won't engage with.

Or, there might be a new option: Task AI to prepare the lesson plans ?

    • Leaked ChatGPT Strategy Document & Data Nightmare:

A federal judge just forced OpenAI to keep EVERY ChatGPT conversation forever - even your "deleted" chats. But after analyzing leaked OpenAI strategy documents, I discovered something far more disturbing about their true plans for AI dominance. In this video, I break down: → The court order forcing OpenAI to retain all user data indefinitely →Leaked strategy documents revealing OpenAI's "super-assistant" master plan → How government AI nearly canceled safety equipment for veterans ($32B disaster) → Why ChatGPT's behavior is fundamentally unreliable and unpredictable → Safe alternatives to ChatGPT that actually protect your business data → Specific steps to audit and protect your current AI usage
