I was just thinking the other day, if during a geomagnetic reversal the poles flip, i.e. Greenland and Antarctica turn to the equator, then the 'effective' albedo of the earth, its 'whiteness', increases automatically. Nowadays, the poles are all frozen over and they reflect almost all incoming radiation but there is hardly any at the poles. Tomorrow, there will be two enormous icy patches on the equator that equally reflect almost all radiation, where there is much more. That effect by itself could be cooling down earth, separate from a diminished atmosphere, or increased sapce weather influence, and whatever else.
