Sometimes "awakening" is more of a traumatic experience rather than an "enlightening" one. During this critical period, people are highly suggestible, able to be reprogrammed, for days to weeks. This was done by the Spartans to make warriors, shamans to make priests, and the Assassins to make killers.

I think I understand this brand of apathy somewhat. It's a common phase as I understand it among spiritual seekers. Temporary, I think. Also common among unmarried middle-aged men, which I think I also understand somewhat.

Reminds me of the Bukowski line of being found out and revealed as a cornered fake, all posturing exposed and laid bare leaving you feeling trapped like a cornered animal. Strange how I can't find that line now and sorry but I don't have the drive or the will to scan a complete shelf of my library to find it, though I know it's underlined in one of those books. Let's just say I empathize with your plight Dilettante after having spent a good portion of my life in that exact same place. And the matriarch/follow the wives line of questioning is important, because that's the true bloodline, not the father, we're born of our mothers and that's the line these so called elites adhere to.

Agreed, well said, but it's also up to us to turn that perception of the curse into a blessing. It boils down to perception. "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." 1 Corinthians 13:12. But please believe me when I say I understand what you're saying.
