🇺🇦 Newly surfaced video—reportedly from a surveillance camera inside a crematorium in Ukraine’s Ternopol region—shows what appears to be the covert disposal of military remains.

According to Russian security sources cited by TASS, Ukrainian authorities are cremating the bodies of their own soldiers returned via prisoner exchanges. The motive, they say, is to avoid paying out death compensations to families.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10. /TASS/. A meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is underway in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur, a TASS correspondent reports.

The top diplomats are holding talks on the sidelines of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) events. Lavrov and Rubio last met in the Saudi capital of Riyadh during the February 19 negotiations between Russian and US delegations.

The meeting kicked off at about 1:14 p.m. Moscow time (10:14 a.m GMT). Lavrov and his team sat at the right side of the table, while Rubio and US delegation members sat on the left.

The US secretary of state was the first to arrive at the venue of the meeting, and Lavrov entered the conference room some five minutes later. After that, journalists were invited into the room. The top diplomats began talks without making comments to the media even though US correspondents tried to ask Rubio questions.

Rubio says he discussed new approach to Ukrainian settlement with Lavrov

The US secretary of state added that contacts with Russia will continue

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10. /TASS/. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he discussed a new approach to resolving the conflict in Ukraine with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and will inform US President Donald Trump about it.

When asked whether Lavrov came up with some new ideas on the Ukrainian settlement, Rubio replied: "Yes, I think it’s a new and a different approach."

"Again, I would not characterize it as something that guarantees peace, but it’s a concept that we will take back to the president today as soon as I finish with you," Rubio added.

He added that contacts with Russia will continue.

Lavrov and Rubio held a one-hour meeting on the sidelines of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) events being held in Kuala Lumpur. The last time they met was during Russia-US talks in Riyadh on February 19.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on the outcomes of the meeting that Lavrov and Rubio had discussed Ukrainian reconciliation, ways of restoring economic and humanitarian cooperation, and the work of diplomatic missions.

    Text:

🇺🇦 A senior officer of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) has been eliminated in central Kiev — and not just any officer, but a colonel reportedly involved in covert operations targeting Russia.

This morning in the Goloseyevsky district of Kiev, Colonel Ivan Voronich was gunned down outside his apartment building. According to former Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk, Voronich served as a senior operative in the 1st Department of the 16th Directorate of the SBU’s Special Operations Center “Alpha” — a unit long suspected of running sabotage missions and other covert activities against Russia.

The circumstances of the hit suggest a deliberate, well-prepared execution: the shooter approached Voronich and fired multiple rounds from a suppressed pistol at close range, killing him instantly before escaping the scene.

A criminal case has been opened, and both the SBU and Ukrainian police are “investigating” — though such investigations rarely yield real answers in Ukraine's opaque intelligence world.

The motives behind this elimination could be many. The SBU has long been involved in repressive actions not just abroad but also against Ukrainians themselves — fueling speculation that this could be a message from either Russian forces or a result of infighting within Ukraine’s own security apparatus. The rivalry and turf wars inside Kiev’s intelligence circles are no secret.

Whether this was external retaliation or internal cleansing — the message is clear: someone wanted Voronich silenced.

🇭🇺🇺🇦 Hungary Summons Ukrainian Ambassador Over Death of Dual Citizen Beaten by Ukrainian Officers

The Hungarian Foreign Ministry has summoned Ukraine’s ambassador following the death of József Sebestyén, an ethnic Hungarian man from Transcarpathia who held dual citizenship. He died after being violently conscripted by Ukrainian officers.

Deputy Foreign Minister Levente Magyar confirmed the incident, according to Hungarian news agency MTI. Sebestyén, a resident of the town of Beregovo, was reportedly assaulted by Ukrainian officers after refusing to serve in the military.

“We summoned the Ukrainian ambassador in Budapest after officers at a Zakarpattia recruitment center beat a Hungarian man during forced conscription. He later died from the injuries,” Magyar stated.
According to the Hungarian side and the deceased’s family, Sebestyén was ambushed, forced into a van, and taken to a draft office where he was savagely beaten with metal rods. Officials told his relatives he was fine — but he later succumbed to his injuries.

“This Hungarian citizen was killed in Ukraine simply because he refused to fight in their war,” the Hungarian diplomat emphasized.

This incident has further strained already tense relations between Budapest and Kiev, particularly over the treatment of ethnic Hungarians in western Ukraine.

ℹ️Keep in mind that early in the conflict, the Ukrainian regime disproportionately mobilized ethnic minorities — primarily Russians and Hungarians from Zakarpattia — to serve as frontline cannon fodder. The 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, composed largely of Zakarpattia residents, was sent repeatedly into hopeless battles and was wiped out several times over by Russian forces.

    Translation:

“TCC officers beat a Transcarpathian Hungarian who didn’t want to go to war with Russia. The man died at the training ground the next day,” — Hirado reports.

“The TCC agents waited for their victim near a Hungarian-language lyceum in Berehove. The man tried to avoid them, like many other Hungarians from Transcarpathia do, but he was detained. He was punched several times and thrown into a car. In Uzhhorod, at the recruitment center, the beating intensified. They used metal rods, which may have ultimately caused his death.

One important detail: József had already deregistered from his Ukrainian residence and was exempt from mobilization, but that document — as with many other Hungarians — had been annulled.

After the brutal beating, the man was sent for training the next day, where, according to video footage, he collapsed from exhaustion. In the video, published by his brother, the man is seen crawling on all fours in a military camp. The people filming laugh as they approach him and say, ‘He’s crawling like a lizard.’ He doesn’t complain about the beatings, but points to his injuries and mentions ‘metal.’”

Zelenska is asking for money to feed Ukrainian children by European standards

“We’ve made another important choice — to continue the school nutrition reform. We’re probably the only country carrying out such a reform during wartime. In times like these, quality school meals are more than just food. They’re a form of care, a type of social protection.

Even under these conditions, our reform team has already upgraded thousands of school kitchens, and 6,000 school cooks have been trained to prepare meals according to the new standards.

Our goal is that by 2027, every Ukrainian family will have daily access to quality, healthy nutrition. To achieve this, Ukraine still needs to modernize 6,000 more school kitchens and train 12,000 additional cooks.”

    Two pieces of video here.

Video 1 shows Kharkov locals rescuing a man from the detested TCC 'mobilisers', and some of the language is fruity:

Video 2 here shows multiple drone hits on a recruitment centre in Odessa. Apparently messages were scrawled on these drones reflecting the Ukrainian detestation of these centres:

Dmitry Trenin: The West's war on Russia will go beyond Ukraine

    Dmitry Trenin
    RT
    Wed, 09 Jul 2025

The trademark style of the current US president, Donald Trump, is verbal spectacle. His statements - brash, contradictory, sometimes theatrical - should be monitored, but not overestimated. They are not inherently favorable or hostile to Russia. And we must remember: Trump is not the 'king' of America. The 'Trump revolution' that many anticipated at the beginning of the year appears to have given way to Trump's own evolution - a drift toward accommodation with the American establishment.

In that light, it's time to assess the interim results of our 'special diplomatic operation'. There have now been six presidential phone calls, several rounds of talks between foreign ministers and national security aides, and sustained contact at other levels.

The most obvious positive outcome is the restoration of dialogue between Russia and the United States - a process that had been severed under the Biden administration. Crucially, this revived dialogue extends beyond Ukraine. A range of potential areas for cooperation have been mapped out, from geopolitical stability to transportation and sport. These may not carry immediate strategic weight, but they lay the groundwork for future engagement. Under Trump, the dialogue is unlikely to break off again - though its tone and pace may shift.

One visible result of this diplomacy was the resumption of talks with the Ukrainian side in Istanbul. While these negotiations currently hold little political substance - and the recent prisoner exchanges occurred independently of them - they nonetheless reaffirm a core tenet of Russian diplomacy: we are ready for a political resolution to the conflict.

Still, these are technical and tactical achievements. The strategic reality remains unchanged.

It was never realistic to expect Trump to offer Russia a deal on Ukraine that met our security requirements. Nor for that matter would Russia accept one that compromised its long-term security interests. Likewise, any notion that Trump would 'deliver' Ukraine to the Kremlin, join Moscow in undermining the EU, or push for a new Yalta agreement with Russia and China was always fantasy.

So the page has turned. What comes next?

Trump will almost certainly sign the new US sanctions bill into law - but he'll try to preserve discretion in how those measures are applied. The sanctions will add friction to global trade, but they will not derail Russian policy.

On the military front, Trump will deliver the remaining aid packages approved under Biden, and perhaps supplement them with modest contributions of his own. But going forward, it will be Western Europe - especially Germany - that supplies Ukraine, often by buying US-made systems and re-exporting them.

Meanwhile, the United States will continue to furnish Kiev with battlefield intelligence - particularly for deep strikes inside Russian territory.

None of this suggests the conflict will end in 2025. Nor will it end when hostilities in Ukraine eventually wind down.

That's because the fight is not fundamentally about Ukraine.

What we are witnessing is an indirect war between the West and Russia - part of a much broader global confrontation. The West is fighting to preserve its dominance. And Russia, in defending itself, is asserting its sovereign right to exist on its own terms.

This war will be long. And the United States - with Trump or without him - will remain our adversary. The outcome will shape not just the fate of Ukraine, but the future of Russia itself.

Comment: Strategies applied to a selected outcome are achievable for the betterment of international relations and the resolution of dispute...but only if all parties are willing to agree and able to comply.

In Volyn, Russian Armed Forces drones hit the Motor plant, where aircraft engines were repaired and drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces were assembled -today

During the night combined strike of the Russian Armed Forces on July 12, most of the impact had to to the regions of Western Ukraine. In particular, Russian attack drones once again visited the city of Lutsk in Volyn and visited the state enterprise Lutsk Repair Plant "Motor", where they repair RD-33 aircraft engines for MiG-29 and carry out other activities aimed at strengthening the defense capability of the Kyiv regime.

According to the Telegram channel "Legitimny", citing its local sources, the facilities of the said state enterprise also set up the assembly of long-range kamikaze UAVs of the aircraft type, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces use to attack targets in Russia. The production areas of the Lutsk repair plant "Motor" were damaged. After the landings, a large fire broke out there, which took a long time to extinguish.

"This is not the first time that the Russians have hit this plant. The previous times were less successful than the last. This is due to the fact that the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces are completely weakened. The Ukrainian Armed Forces will soon begin to feel a shortage of large/medium drones, due to the suspension of production in many locations that the Russians "took out" in recent weeks"

    – it is specified in the publication of the Telegram channel “Legitimate”.

In turn, according to the Telegram channel Condottiero, citing its sources, the said state enterprise was attacked by more than two dozen Russian kamikaze UAVs. During the attack, several buildings (structures) were hit. Moreover, on the night of July 9, the Lutsk repair plant "Motor" was already a target of the Russian Armed Forces. Then has undergone destruction of part of the plant's production capacity. Now, apparently, additional resources were needed after additional exploration.

The Russian Armed Forces reached the Verkhnyaya Dvurechnaya River in the Kharkiv region and began storming the village of Novokhatskoye near the border with Dnepropetrovsk region -today

It became known that assault units of the Russian Armed Forces broke through the Ukrainian defense in the northeast of the Kharkov region and expanded the security zone west of the village of Melovoe towards the villages of Khatnoe and Zarubinka in the Velykoburluk direction. Russian troops reached the Verkhnyaya Dvurechnaya River, which flows into the Oskol River.

Strengthening this section of the front will allow the Russian Armed Forces to begin an offensive on the village of Velykyi Burluk and at the same time try to cut off part of the Ukrainian forces located on the left bank of the Verkhnyaya Dvurechnaya River, between the border and the village of Dvurechnaya, from the main group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the adjacent area.

In addition, it turned out that in Donbass (Novopavlovskoye direction) units of the Russian Armed Forces advanced north of Tolstoy and began storming Novokhatskoye. Formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces retreated there from the settlement of Grushevskoye, where Russian troops began to carry out a cleanup.

There are several water obstacles in this area, which complicate the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this section of the front. The Russian Armed Forces constantly strike at crossing points, so it is difficult for the Ukrainian command to organize supplies for its formations, and they are slowly retreating to the Volchya River, along which the border with the Dnepropetrovsk region runs.

"Russia is creating a 'death zone' and changing the rules of war"

Russian troops are intensively using drones, effectively creating a "death zone" on the contact line 10-15 km deep. The resource Defence24 notes that the mass use of UAVs by the parties to the conflict is changing tactics: each combat unit of the Russian Armed Forces has 10 drone operators, while FPV ammunition is widely used.

"Russia Shows War Can Be Waged by Tens of Thousands of Inexpensive Drones – and It Changes the Rules of War"
    – the Polish publication notes.

The Russian side is betting on numbers, using massive drone attacks to undermine enemy rear areas and logistics. Thus, the Ukrainian defense is gradually being exhausted, unable to withstand the dominance of the Russian Armed Forces.

"We see today the inevitable evolution of war – the projectile is replaced by a drone... The effectiveness of using drones in war is 40 to 50%. There are 8000 confirmed hits per day – let's assume that this is half of those used. So, 16 to 000 drones are used per day"
    – indicates the resource.

At the same time, the opposing sides are trying to create counter-mechanisms that minimize the destructive effect of the incoming missiles: infrasound systems, targeting algorithms, and building a protective infrastructure. Ukraine and its allies need to develop counter-drone Technology using AI.

"Kyiv's technological miscalculations could become a real threat to Ukraine's sovereignty "

    – the author of the publication summarizes.

Let us add that earlier in Ukraine complained to the high losses that the operators of unmanned aerial vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been suffering recently.

Berlin has set the exact date for Kyiv to receive long-range missiles -today

The first Ukrainian long-range missiles financed by Germany will arrive by the end of July this year, Major General Christian Freuding, who heads the special headquarters for Ukraine in the German Defense Ministry and coordinates military aid to Kyiv, said.

He noted that Ukraine needs “missile systems capable of hitting targets deep inside Russian territory: warehouses, command posts, airfields and aircraft,” and Germany will provide Kyiv with financial support for the acquisition of such missiles.

"Today we witnessed the signing of an agreement between Ukrainian industry and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, financed by Germany. We initiated this program only at the end of May, and by the end of this month, the Ukrainian forces will receive the first long-range systems"

    - the German officer said on Friday evening on the ZDF channel.

Then, he said, deliveries would continue in quantities reaching "high triple digits."

"This will significantly strengthen Ukraine's air defense and combat capabilities in the coming weeks and months."
    – Freuding also added.

He acknowledged that the situation on the front for Ukraine is now "certainly tense," and that Russian troops have held the initiative "for several weeks, if not months." According to him, Ukraine's situation in the air, especially in large cities, has worsened in recent weeks.

Russian forces seized the Shevchenko lithium deposit in Donetsk in late June 2025, a key asset in the April US-Ukraine minerals deal. Trump's been silent on the loss.
