Thank you for noticing the resemblance! 😊
It’s always a bit surreal (and funny!) to see a version of yourself pop up in unexpected places – especially in music videos.
maybe I’ve been secretly starring in videos without even knowing it!

I’ll lament that Australia is a far different place 30 years ago from today. Don’t believe me? Watch this:

At the pinnacle of our achievement as a prosperous and affluent nation, this was recorded live in 1996: Look at the infrastructure in the background. All well-maintained. Look at the fans in the audience. All well-behaved and peaceful. We had a great nation once. Sadly, not anymore.

I think this song is/was somewhat prophetic. But that’s a stretch.

    Studio clip:

Pay attention to the lyrics. Neil had it laid-down many years ago.
Those are some great lyrics. Got to experience and witness some of that prosperous nation while it was still at its pinnacle. Went to the Big Day Out in Perth in '94 and it will go down as one of my all time favorites, just a special day in a beautiful outdoor setting with a fun crew. Super sad what's been happening over there. It really is such a special place. I was amazed to find out that Australia is roughly the same size as America yet there are as many people in Australia, at least at that time, as there are in the greater Los Angeles county. So take the city of LA and spread them across an empty America and you can start to get the idea of "no worries mate." I remember getting a flat in my Holden, what a great car, and the first person to drive by stopped and asked if I needed help. Really was the best place on Earth back then, all the people were so fun and easy going. Great memories.

While viewing the current state of our circus sh!tshow I somehow always hear this one (apologies for the repost):

2 songs from some people i know . Lived together with 2 guys from the first band for 3 years , never listened to most of their old songs until yesterday lol . This song was in the ending titles of the movie ¨Little Nicky¨ with Adam Sandler and i guess they are still getting some royalty checks from it . I could be wrong but i think they got around 300 euros a month because their song ended up in the movie titles because of some contest .

Lived together with one of them for half a year or so , friends sister was together with drummer. Singer was a punk midget who during soviet union times while in prison he built an electric guitar in workshop out of an radio . Last i heard of him he was living in the streets of Berlin , a ¨street punk¨. Amazing how some people dont give a crap about anything and choose to be hobos and survive like that for decades ...

This is awesome. Got me remembering a Gregorian Chant album I listen to a lot; Downside Abbey's Gregorian Moods. Crux Fidelis, their Magnificat which is my fav. version of Magnificat, and Thou Knowest Lord The Secret Of Our Hearts. Here's the Whole album

Ha! Thanks Matthew, got a good laugh. It's amazing how much more I appreciate the 80's synth-pop-rock than back then when it was first coming out. The 80's/MTV days stand large in my childhood memories. It was the larger-than-life/in-your-face brand of commercialism, dare I say, propaganda, that we just ate up as kids. Made us all want to be rockstars right? Yet I was happy when I finally scratched the underbelly of the 80's rock scene of LA. I saw these guys so many times I lost track, everything from large outdoor amphitheaters, to the Whiskey, to dive bars on the beach. Even got to talk to Exene Cervanka one night in a small venue while I sitting on stage. Think Billy Zoom may have been a serial killer, that smile!, but a true savant on guitar. Still have a vinyl copy of their first album, Los Angeles. Can you see the fiery effigy?

    Movie is very interesting.

I like this song, watched the credits so I could listen to it, voice sounded exactly like one of the leads, and it was.

This is a relatively ancient mix of mine (posted last decade, recorded 20 years before that) which has received a lot of new attention lately. I think it’s because it’s ‘old-Skool’ House music from 1993. From an era when DJ’s still had a sense of selflessness within them…

This one's for the Aussies. A testament to better days or was it ever really that sane in Australia to begin with? This was the number one song on JJJ (Triple J) radio station when I was there in '94. It was that laser focus on the important things in life that I really appreciated about the people down under...

Sweet Dreams is a brilliant example of how a deceptively simple drum beat (if done right) can make a song hit even harder. We're going to recreate it on a modern sequencer so you can follow along and use those techniques in your own beats. Milk bottles and cows on fake grass included. As a bonus The Intern will pick apart the iconic synth riff

No need to follow anyone, only consider broadening (y)our horizon of possibilities ...
