Default How the USA Depends on Russia's Resources. America's Achilles Heel: Uranium-235.

For over 30 years, without a single break, without a single failure, the main Russian state secret has been spinning at 1,500 revolutions per second - uranium is enriched in gas centrifuges - a process in which Russia occupies absolute leadership.

How much this affects each of you and the world as a whole will be discussed in this article.

Enrichment of uranium in a centrifuge.

There are 191 nuclear power plants in operation in 32 countries around the world.

↪️ The bulk of nuclear power plants are located in the so-called developed countries.
↪️ The fuel for these nuclear power plants is uranium 235 (this is the isotope of uranium that creates a chain nuclear reaction with the release of energy).
↪️ But natural uranium contains only 0.711% of the isotope uranium-235, the rest is uranium-238.
↪️ That is, natural uranium consists of isotope 238 by 99% and isotope 235 by less than 1%.

Therefore, before producing fuel for nuclear power plants, it is necessary to increase the content of this isotope in the raw material.
    This process is called "enrichment".

In the world, uranium enrichment, i.e. the creation of fuel for power plants that supply electricity to industries and homes, is carried out by only a few countries.

Developed countries, which are the most dependent on nuclear energy, all together enrich less uranium than Russia alone.

Russia is the leader in uranium enrichment.
Our country produces more than 40% of the world's nuclear fuel. That is, the basis of life for developed countries - energy - is in the hands of Russia.

This is in addition to the fact that the future of the world is in nuclear technologies. This fuel will be used to fly into space and produce nanotechnologies.

In addition, 40% of the energy in the western states of America comes from nuclear power plants.

But the US practically does not enrich uranium, because initially they took the wrong path of enriching it, using the gaseous diffusion method.

This method requires 50 times more energy than the one used by Russia.

Therefore, the US buys nuclear fuel, mainly from us.

In total, 29 companies from 12 countries are consumers of Russian nuclear fuel.

Russia enriches uranium in so-called centrifuges.
There are centrifuges that were launched back in the Soviet Union and are still working, never stopping, rotating at a speed of 1,500 thousand revolutions per second. And, of course, this equipment is being modernized.

➡️ Now, improved devices of the 10th generation are being put into operation, which have no analogues in the world.
➡️ Soviet ones are the 6th generation.
➡️ Centrifuges of the 6th-10th generations are used in Russia.
➡️ And only 5th generation centrifuges are allowed for export (there were recent deliveries to China). And China works on them.

As you can see, our nuclear industry is developing very successfully.

The design of these centrifuges is, naturally, classified.

↪️ But the principle is known: to obtain uranium-235, natural uranium is slightly processed,
    ↪️ combined with fluorine,
↪️ heated to a gaseous state and then
↪️ sent to the above-mentioned centrifuges. One centrifuge itself is a relatively small device.
↪️ And to enrich uranium, thousands of such centrifuges are used, connected to each other.

This is how it all looks at the plant itself.

The production of gas centrifuges for isotope enrichment is carried out by the Kovrov Mechanical Plant OJSC and the Ural Gas Centrifuge Plant LLC.

There is even a monument to the centrifuge in Novouralsk.

What happens inside these miracle inventions?

↪️ Gaseous uranium, entering the centrifuge, spins up to cosmic speeds.
↪️ The required isotope uranium-235, is lighter than the 238 isotope, so they are separated from each other as a result of rotation.
↪️ The heavier 238 uranium accumulates on the periphery, and 235 - in the center, from where it is taken, getting into the next centrifuge, where the same thing happens.
↪️ And so the procedure is repeated until the desired percentage of uranium-235 is obtained.

▶️ Nuclear reactors operate with fuel, which must contain 3-5% of this uranium.
    This is low-enriched uranium.

▶️ If it is further enriched, it becomes highly enriched uranium, which is used in nuclear weapons.
*This is the uranium that was used in the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima, in the "Little Boy" bomb.

That is, this production provides both energy and weapons to protect the country.

↪️ Next, this low-enriched uranium is cooled to a solid state,
↪️ powder is made from it,
↪️ after which fuel pellets are baked at high temperatures,
↪️ and these fuel pellets are sent directly to nuclear reactors in fuel assemblies.

They go to both Russian and foreign nuclear power plants.

❓ Why did the US end up as an outsider in such an important matter as the creation of fuel, which is not only the source of energy, but also the future in general?
*After all, in any case, you can’t fly into space or launch a submarine on windmills and solar panels.

Isotopes obtained by this method are used in many areas:
✅ medicine (diagnostic reagents and precursors for radiopharmaceuticals),
    ✅ in security systems (helium-3),
    ✅ in metrology,
    ✅ in electronics,
    ✅ scientific research in chemistry,
    ✅ physics,
    ✅ in biotechnology,
    ✅ in agrochemistry.

Isotopes will be needed in international projects:
✅ GERDA and MAJORANA (study of the properties of neutrinoless double decay),
✅ XMASS (registration of solar neutrinos),
✅ WARP (study of the dark matter of the Universe).

So, the thing is that the USA, as was said earlier, chose an expensive procedure for enriching uranium.
They learned about the Soviet technology only after the liquidation of the USSR. And when they got to the plant where uranium-235 was mined, at first they did not believe that this was a real working technology.

The technology itself, of course, was known, but the design on which all this was done, no one knew except Soviet scientists. Therefore, American specialists even measured Soviet equipment with ties in order to study it.

It is a big question how all these technologies remained classified and did not flow into the hands of Western intelligence agencies in the 90s.

⛔️ The United States tried to create something similar, there were American developments, but the company Centrus (former USEC), which tried to build the first American factory for enriching uranium using centrifuges, officially announced the termination of all work on this project in February 2016.

⛔️ Moreover, the Americans are completely dependent on the import of natural uranium.

⛔️ According to the Energy Information Agency, the US, its own deposits satisfy only 11% of the current needs of the nuclear industry for raw materials.

⛔️ And therefore they are very dependent on nuclear fuel supplied from Russia.

Yes, European countries also enrich uranium, but firstly, in smaller quantities than in Russia and secondly, they themselves need fuel.

Raw materials for nuclear power plants - uranium, are mined by the State Company Rosatom. Or rather, its subsidiaries. And they mine all over the world, including in Canada, Australia and even the USA.

In 2013, an interesting event occurred: Rosatom bought 100% of the shares of the Canadian uranium mining company Uranium One, which was engaged in mining in Kazakhstan, Australia, South Africa and the USA.

✅ Today this company belongs to Russia and

The list of countries where uranium is mined by our country is growing.

✅ Also, Rosatom is a leading company in the construction of nuclear power plants around the world.

At the moment, 36 power units are being built in 12 countries, which means that a huge part of the world's energy will really be in Russia's hands.

As was said, the USA uses nuclear energy, but they buy raw materials from Russia.

According to scientist Ostretsov, the USA will not last a year without uranium-235.

But, of course, Russia is unlikely to stop supplying nuclear fuel to the USA (unless, of course, a hot war between our countries begins).

After all, if, let's say, despite nuclear weapons, the US decides to start a war, they will simply be left without energy.

And that's why they only wage hybrid wars and try to defeat us using this method.

One of the articles published depressing information that uranium-235 would soon run out.
And it may seem that this is why the US is not worried about enrichment technologies.

This information was expressed only by one scientist who is not, so to speak, in the kitchen of nuclear fuel production. I ask you not to take such materials as the ultimate truth, which I adhere to. This is rather educational content, since you need to be, at a minimum, a scientist yourself to assert something in this area 100%.

My opinion is that, of course, there will be no energy deficit. Our scientists will clearly come up with something.

And the US thought that Russia would be their eternal colony, supplying nuclear fuel, so they have not bothered with their production for the past 30 years.

I will also cite other opinions on the issue of the future of global energy.
Besides, there are really interesting points here.

There is an opinion that oil and gas fields can renew their resources.
And this opinion is expressed by none other than Vladimir Polevanov.

The majority of people in Russia know Vladimir Polevanov as a politician, but this man is also a scientist-geologist, with a doctorate in geological and mineralogical sciences.

And here is what he says about oil:

Oil is infinite. Our scientists Mendeleev - the famous, great scientist, then our Soviet scientist Kudryavtsev proved, and suggested, and essentially substantiated the inorganic, that is, independent of any dependence on shells and dinosaurs, theory of the origin of oil and gas.

Oil is formed due to deep hydrogen, which in gigantic quantities, as our second (another of our great scientists) Vladimir Nikolaevich Larin proved, is formed today, is being formed now.

There is no ancient oil, there is no oil that is there for 100,000,000 years: Cretaceous oil, York oil, Livonian oil, as geologists say - it does not exist. This oil is formed before our eyes.

The Grozny deposit, where there were three wars, was exhausted to zero three times and restored three times due to the fact that hydrogen is degassed there, and this deposit will be restored a hundred more times.

    Here is some interesting information.
