With a limited pension, I just can't afford to buy the extra things. So, I just stand out in the grass when it's not wet or too cold. Well, I haven't done it during those conditions. I may try it ONCE when there's snow on the ground.

I have noticed that I sleep alittle better on those days. And my body feels alittle better, too. I imagine if I did it everyday for longer periods of time, I'd feel even more better.... IMO there's something to this Earthing.

Earthing is a very real thing, but the materialism side of it is contradictive and misleading. Why would a philosophy that sponsors connecting with nature and embracing minimalism also sell products that keep you inside?

The purpose of Earthing is to go outside, lay in the grass, and feel the constant flux of energies enter and leave your body to join with the energies of other organisms. It is a form of meditation...but so much more QUOTE

Yes agree going outside is best especially barefoot
But some of us cant get much time outside earthing as we would like. Most people are vitamin D deficient from lack of sun exposer. I look at earthing mats for indoors as a supplement to the natural out door earthing. Just like taking vitamin supplements ,(probably not as good as natural food nutrients).
Commercialization of products will always be well you know. You don't always have to buy products. I made a earthing mat for my feet when I'm at the desk. Cost less than a cup of coffee.

    cheers...

earthing mats are good......I live in Ontario Canada where we have cold weather and snow for many months , I bought an earthing mat for $59 ...I can use it on my feet sitting during the day, under my keyboard , on my arm rest of a chair, and I sleep with it under my calves at night....so far the only thing i have noticed is I fall asleep incredibly quickly each night. No tossing at all. I recently did an 11 day show standing for the best part of 11 hours per day and felt pretty good so perhaps that is due to the mat as well.

If everybody grew their own food and got their hands dirty, there would be no need for materialism to spread to meditative practices. Nobody deserves to have a job that entitles them to sit at a desk all day working at a computer. I think simple gardening is enough to get all the Earthing meditative effects one could need.

I have been very interested in these products since seeing the video below thought it was interesting and had a few people in mind including myself . Had a look at the products and agree they are very expensive especially since I would like to use them with my kids and extended family. I get samwises point that really we should be aiming at getting outside to earth but asking an elderly relative to go bare foot even for a few minutes out in near freezing weather I am going to get told some colourful language ccc but I did want to say that I have been struggling with back issues for the last 5 months and 1 muscle particularly was just like a flat ribbon it would just not give . after watching the vid I stood outside in the dark and cold for a couple of minutes at most 5 to give it a go . Well I was in complete shock cos I have been working away at this muscle making little or no progress and 5 mins outside it was completely normal ??? , still loads of improvement today will be out again tonight and am very intrigued .

I have been sleeping with the earthing mat now since early November ($59 purchase).....as I live where it is presently -40 I am not going to try outdoor earthing for a while.....I suffer from lower back pain and some leg troubles occasionally and they are gone completely since sleeping with the mat. My daughter ordered one for her boyfriend who works in construction and has leg pains all the time, he is using it and finding it helps but found the mat was coming apart (after 2 weeks!!)....she contacted the company and they said they had a problem batch but to keep it as it will still work fine and they are sending her another one to replace it .....good customer service.
http://www.earthing.com/Shop_s/1824.htm I would like to try their small blanket, I worry about the cost of the sheet and how it would hold up to washing. Still haven't got around to getting the dog to sleep on one which was my initial reason for purchasing....will have to try that again.

I'm unbelievably late to this party, even though I was told about earthing sheets many years ago, but at the time I could not justify spending so much money on an item I wasn't sure I needed. Years of ME/CFS putting a stop to enjoying the outdoors anywhere near as much as I used to, means that I've been almost completely disconnected from proper ground, and now I'm experiencing various unpleasant aches and things, much of it no doubt due to inflammation. So I've now finally decided to purchase a couple of good quality earthing/grounding products, and I'll get back with an update when I've tried them properly.

Hi Harmony!! Thank you so much for your super lovely reply!!!

Yes, I definitely will let you know how I get on. I've ordered a pair of Clint Ober's black pillowcases (not the type with fragile silver threads), as they worked out a better price for two. I'm thinking of using one for my normal bed pillow, and the other to wrap around wherever I might want the electrons to go first. :-)

Huge thanks for the other earthing threads!! I will definitely enjoy exploring those!!!

I came across some grounding shoes which have a tiny copper stud in the soles, but I imagine that a piece of pure copper chain worn around the ankle, or fastened to the inside of a sock, with a piece dangling down to the ground should work just as well, so may give that a try.
