Yesterday, the State announced during the Council of Ministers the transfer of former mining assets of several companies to the Burkina Mining Participation Company (SOPAMIB) for optimal exploitation for the benefit of the population.

The report states that, “The Council adopted a decree transferring the former mining assets of Wahgnion Gold SA, SEMAFO Boungou SA, Ressources Ferke SARL, Gryphon Minerals Burkina Faso SARL and Lilium Mining Services Burkina Faso SARL to the Burkina Mining Participation Company (SOPAMIB).”

The State acquired on August 24, 2024, by direct transfer of shares and corporate units from the companies Endeavour Mining and Lilium Mining, the former mining assets held by these mining exploitation and research companies.

“This acquisition is part of the State's policy of sovereign appropriation of mineral resources for the purpose of their optimal exploitation for the benefit of the population”, the final report stated.

🇧🇫- The brand new plane of Air Burkina made its first flight to Abidjan.

Air Burkina has just acquired a new aircraft. The announcement was made on September 28th, 2024 by the company.

The new aircraft, flown from China, is an “Embraer E190 with 6 business class seats and 92 economy class seats”, the national airline said.

It was able to connect Ouagadougou and Abidjan. Well, it’s a small beginning but the act is commendable because the plane was bought with our own money, not with a loan.

FYI, I think Air France 🇫🇷 is still banned from the AES since last year, after they arrogantly suspended their flights all because, Mali 🇲🇱 and Burkina welcomed the coup d’état in Niger 🇳🇪 and warned ECOWAS that if they attack Niger 🇳🇪, it will automatically amount to a declaration of war against all of them.

So, because of their support to Niger 🇳🇪, Air France 🇫🇷 suspended their flights to our three countries on August 7th, 2023 for about 3 days without prior notice. After the three days, when they came back that they will resume their flights, we bold them: “NO! YOU WILL NOT RESUME ON AUGUST 11th, 2023.”

The French have no respect nor consideration for Africans. They believe they can do whatever they like since they are so used to dealing with puppet leaders.

But they lost all of it because of their arrogance. Obviously, their turnover has decreased, and I even read from Le Figaro that Air France will now test a new way to make its passengers pay for their meals onboard on certain destinations, come January 2025.

Can any Malian or Nigerien confirm to me whether Air France 🇫🇷 has resumed its flights in Bamako or Niamey? As for Burkina Faso 🇧🇫, I know they haven’t resumed their flight in Ouagadougou.

Anyway, this is a welcome development and we are still waiting for the AES airline to be launched. Let’s patronize our own airlines!

Russia Donates 700+ Tonnes of Food Aid to Burkina Faso Amid Sahel Crisis

Russia has delivered over 700 tons of yellow split peas valued at $2.5 million to the World Food Programme (WFP) in Burkina Faso. The donation targets emergency food assistance for communities hit hard by insecurity in the Sahel.

“This contribution was driven primarily by the current situation in Africa, particularly in the Sahel,” said Igor Burkin, Russia’s Chargé d’Affaires. “Russia is here to help African countries, especially Burkina Faso.”

The aid, sent by Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, marks part of a long-standing humanitarian partnership. Since 2003, Russia has contributed over $430 million to WFP operations globally.

WFP Country Director Sory Ouane welcomed the support, calling it “a strong commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts in a particularly challenging context.”

He presented his credentials this Thursday, July 24th, 2025, to President Donald J. Trump at the White House where he was able to hand them over, signed by Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Faso, Head of the Burkinabè State.

So, yea, President Trump stood up to shake his hand and took photos with him while standing as it should be when a new ambassador is appointed to the host country. So, it’s nothing new.

However, this speaks volume, because we all saw recently how the 5 African clowns stood behind President Trump to take a photo while he was sitting.

Bottom line is, if you don’t respect yourself, no one will respect you. This is the dignity and honor of Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 at play. Homeland or death, we will overcome!

Russia and West Africa’s Burkina Faso are discussing plans to launch direct flights between their respective capitals—Moscow and Ouagadougou—aimed at boosting tourism, according to Aristide Tapsoba, the Burkina Faso Ambassador to Russia. Tapsoba made the comments at Technoprom 2025, the ongoing international forum on technological development, in Novosibirsk.

Tapsoba added, “We already have a Russian company that wants to launch direct flights between Ouagadougou and Moscow and between the capitals of Mali and Niger and Moscow. This is currently being discussed.”

He highlighted growing cooperation between Ouagadougou and Moscow in tourism and culture, noting that exchanges are already under way. He said a Burkinabe delegation of over 500 people is due to travel to St. Petersburg in October to work in the fields of tourism and the economy.

More than 500 Russians have also visited Burkina Faso since the beginning of 2025; some attended the Festival of Cinema and Television of African Countries in Ouagadougou, where a Russian symphony orchestra performed.

Russia has increased cooperation with several African nations across multiple sectors—including aviation, road, rail, and maritime transport—after declaring the development of mutually beneficial partnerships with the continent a foreign policy priority.
