Of all your many dehumanizing and disgusting posts, this one really takes the cake.

Just making sure I am understanding the "message" you are trying to convey with this meme: Muslims are pedophiles and they use Great Britain as one large child trafficking hub. Please tell me I misunderstand the meaning of it, and you meant something less hateful and less delusional?

You leave a long trail of posts on the "Memeiest Memes" and "You Must Laugh" that are continuously deprecating to people who are women, GLBT, Islamic, democrats. At best, these posts are tiresome and dated in their outlook, but taken together, they show someone who really enjoys degrading and demeaning groups of people.

What I really find amazing and ironic in this post is that it comes from the Avalon member who has written THE MOST SNOWFLAKEY POSTS (here, here and here) I've ever seen on the forum. In these posts I referenced snopes.com to debunk an urban myth - there is a thread on Avalon detailing the problem of snopes and I have contributed to it, - however, snopes is still useful and accurate in tracking urban myths. You complained that by quoting snopes, I would offend "other people". Unlike you, I am not going to hide behind "other people"- I will come out and say I personally find this to be ugly. And I (and most of the other people here) will never complain of being offended by something that is true.

I am sorry I spent time writing three whole thought posts trying to justify my post. I should have just written "It's the truth, you pathetic little snowflake, you --- suck it up." How you can fault others for telling the truth yet feel entitled to tell the most vicious mean-spirited lies about Islamic people make the the most hypocritical person on the forum. I hearby award you the first prize.

Also, I still have yet to read a thoughtful or intelligent or original post that you've written. (not that I've read all your posts ). It's high time you try using your brain, and it's time to start learning to some decency to all members of humanity. Your many ugly posts about the members of humanity that you regularly dump on say little about those people, but they do say a lot about you.

    hey Chris,

I'll let Raskolnikov speak for himself. But for me a meme is an appropriate place to play with the inappropriate or the offensive. Like it or not, humans need a place to do this, and memes have provided it. Sort of like how Halloween is a day in which we play with death and darkness. People dress up as Che Guevera, or Pancho Villa. It's not necessarily a send-up, but some people will take offense.

That doesn't mean they won't be clumsy or offensive sometimes when people push boundaries, but I think there is a net gain there at the end of the day. I'm not laughing at how clumsy or offensive they can be at times; I often find myself laughing at them due to how absurd they are, or how ironic they are, or sometimes how bad they are (or even how brazen they are).

In the UK thousands of people a year are getting arrested for social media posts. One woman is spending 3 years in prison right now for an X post. Personally I'm far more offended by that and the Pakistani rape gangs than I am about the meme you're questioning.

Yes, I agree. I will say that I occasionally appreciate political incorrectness if it is clever. And there are some people who are politically incorrect because they are just parodying other people's racist ways of thinking. If the comments are clever, they can be funny, regardless if they are targeted at someone who is innocent, or someone who deserves the comments, or if they are said ironically to parody the type of person who would make such comments.

But there is nothing clever or funny about the above meme, regardless about how you feel about Moslem people. It's just plain old mean spirited.

I also felt compelled to say something because there is a plethora of similar posts, not quite as mean spirited, but taking together, there seems to be an idee fixé here that we constantly need to demean and degrade here. I think that goes against the grain of what the forum is about. Our masthead on the forum says "where all lives matter" but we see there some members who feel that some segments of our population need to be treated like garbage, at least here on the forum.

Quote In the UK thousands of people a year are getting arrested for social media posts.
I didn't realize it was thousands, but even if it was just one person, that is horrible. It someone got arrested for the post Raskolnikov posted, or something even far uglier, I would protest against the abuse of government outside the courthouse where such a person was being taken to court. On the other hand, if I see someone behaving like a repugnant trogldyte, I hope I would be able to exercise my First Amendment right to say: "Hey you! You are a repugnant trogldyte."

It crosses a lot of lines and goes miles in. It's so rotten it deserves a meme prize although perhaps that's not a good thing. I'm ok with super-bad-taste memes on the thread, there's a time and place. Kryztian if you have beef with Raskolnikov ok, ok.. I'm not commenting on that because iron sharpens iron and sparks fly. But everyone is crass and rude with memes. But in a way, even though I'm trying to say this isn't the right place perhaps it is the right place? Because meme threads, laughing at the awkward, I guess should be able to take the awkward. I won't express this squabble with memes because that would be insensitive which is a total shame.

Been holding that one a while. I’m the snowflake yet you’re the one triggered by memes. In case you forgot:

A meme (also known as an internet meme) is an image, screenshot, or graphic that contains text and goes viral (i.e., spreads rapidly online). It provides humorous or satirical social commentary on a relatable situation or topic. Memes often reference pop culture or current events and rely on the internet and social media for their rapid and widespread circulation. The word meme was influenced by the word gene and is the shortened version of mimeme. It was derived from the ancient Greek word “mīmēma,” which means “imitated.”

The meme in question simply makes the correlation between the children allegedly harmed on Epstein Island and the illegal predominantly Muslim immigrants responsible for no-go zones, knife attacks, murders, and the raping of young children and women while also using the obvious island connection btw England and Epstein Island. It was a little harsh, but sometimes harsh is required in the face of such hypocrisy that would protect these violent illegal immigrants while jailing anyone who dare call it out. My memes simply point out (deprecate and demean) bad policy, not groups of people. I’m sure most Muslims are good people, just like most English are good people, just like most people from all country’s of the world are good people, but our governments, yes, I say “our” because at this point all governments are being run by the globalist pedophiles like Bill Gates and your royal crown also alluded to in the meme, our governments are engaged in warfare against the people. It’s about depopulation, fires, floods, shots, poison food, cures that kill, bullet trains to nowhere. These are the subjects I focus on in the memes I choose, along with some much needed comic relief to release a little tension now and then. Seems it only increased yours. But yours stems from a feeling of being personally slighted. What can I say, not a fan of snopes. I’ll own it. Fact-checking sites are the tool of the globalists to keep the masses asleep, to keep them from the truth, cue the Online Safety Act. And I’m not making fun of England by any means, far from it, because those same tyrannical powers of censorship are coming here. And yes, I could very well be locked up someday soon for that same meme. That oughta cheer ya up ol’ chap!

And I never demean women, except maybe the woke purple people eaters when necessary. It’s the bad policy connected with the lgbt that I highlight such as gender “affirming” surgery for kids not old enough to drive or vote. Again, depopulation. But please, Kryztian, show me where I demeaned women, but take a minute to think it through, because what you view as a slight may in fact be a compliment. A quality meme has many layers.

But for me a meme is an appropriate place to play with the inappropriate or the offensive.

I'm in general agreement with ya.

There are as many memes as there are jokes (memes are essentially jokes), and they run the gamut. I don't think anything is off the table when it comes to a good joke(or even a bad one). That's my position. And I'm talking about general themes here, and groups as opposed to individual people. In other words, I'd never approach an individual at a funeral and make a joke about their dead loved one, but I would make a joke about death either to a group of people in a social setting or on the internet. So, there's the personal vs the impersonal there...

...and also the question of frequency. Dave Chappelle was lambasted for some trans jokes he made in one stand up routine he did. If all he did for the full hour of his routine was make fun of trans people, the criticism might have been justified. But it was just one small part of one stand up special.

Just skimming Raskolnikov's memes here, he doesn't appear to be picking on any one group with more frequency than any other. And it's mostly general themes as opposed to individuals. So that's the standard I use when determining malevolence.

I've posted more memes in the last month (on Substack) than I have in my entire life. Memes are essentially irony manifested, and irony is a good diagnostic tool. But it offers nothing beyond that, so the danger is that one can fall in love with one's cleverness or irony and abandon earnestness and sincerity altogether. As far as I can tell, that is the greatest danger of memes...not the content really.

And some people are going to enjoy the same memes for entirely different reasons, some good and some not so good. It's a risk you take for free expression. One meme I posted recently on Substack (taken from this thread) is Trump pointing to a document that an EU guy is holding, and the text reads "you're retarded and gay". They're both in hard hats and looking deadly serious; it's a preposterous meme (on like 5 different levels!) and the preposterousness is what informs its humor, not some kind of homophobic or ableist intent. Or at least that's the way I interpreted it.

As far as the meme in question, I'll just repeat what I said earlier: I'm far more offended by Muslim rape gangs and the UK authorities allowing it to happen than I am the meme. I think it definitely deserves some ridicule.

I always liked Chappelle and I did once hear the trans jokes and thought they were both funny and a little mean, but not outright hostile. I have to imagine that if Chapelle met some trans people he would treat them decently. I tell Jewish jokes to my Jewish friends and lawyer jokes to my lawyer friends. Such jokes can be anywhere between affectionate and hostile.

I believe the men in the rape gang scandal are all British Pakistanis. Not all Moslems are Pakistani. Do we blame Moslems or Pakistanis or Brits or men??? Statistics show that men clearly commit the crime of rape at a much, much, much greater rate than non-men. Do we need some memes about men as rapists?

And while rape is awful, I am most offended by war and genocide - the world's most horrific crimes. With perps like Dick Cheney, Tony Blair, Nicolas Sarkozy, Benjamin Netanyahu, Paul Wolfowitz, Anthony Blinken, Brigitte Macron - shouldn't we really be blaming "white men?"

They're Pakistani Muslim immigrants. And they're raping young girls at a far higher rate than any other group in the country. No way around it.

It should be a big topic here and everywhere else. But it's very taboo. One has to wonder why.

Idk Matthew, I always thought this one pushed the limits further:

That one'll get me killed in prison one day. But it's a meme people. Mike, you said it best when you said, "a meme is an appropriate place to play with the inappropriate or the offensive. Like it or not, humans need a place to do this, and memes have provided it. Sort of like how Halloween is a day in which we play with death and darkness." On target, well said. But let's give the other side of the coin so things remain balanced and tempers don't flare:

And I seriously hope you were joking with this comment Kryztian:

The Brigitte Macron reference gives me hope. Because that is one of the most libtard leftist talking points I've read on this forum in a long time...
