A question about fasting Bill. How do you prepare yoursel for a long fast, say in excess of 3-5 days? Do you spend the preceding couple of weeks eating nutrient rich foods for instance? I'm keen on trying a 5 day fast but am concerned about muscle loss which I had in the past when eating OMAD for months. Running Deer made comment about muscle loss in one of her posts and I'm looking but can't find it . . .

I may not be the best person to answer this! I've done quite a lot of water fasting over the years (for anyone unfamiliar with this, do see the fascinating, lengthy and detailed Water Fasting thread), and the first time or two I tried it it felt quite difficult and stressful.

I read at the time that the best way to prepare for a 3-5 day fast was to spend several days eating very alkaline foods, like certain fruits and plenty of salads and other greens, so that's what I did each time.

But somehow, for reasons I can't properly account for, as time passed I found it easier and easier to flip straight into a water fast with zero preparation. And 'enduring' the fast became easier and easier as well.
(The first water fast I ever did was under supervision at a health resort. My cabin, where I stayed for the week, was a few minutes up quite a steep little hill. It was REALLY exhausting to get to it each time! And that was all when I was 25 years younger. But now I find I can fast and also go on mountain hikes, go figure. As I mentioned just above, I really have no explanation for that.)
After all my various experiences, I'm pretty sure now that there are just no hard and fast rules which will apply to every single person. One has to listen carefully to one's own body, be prepared to experiment and be creative, and STOP when something doesn't seem to be working as one hoped.
(Read here about my brief experiment with the BBBE diet— beef, butter, bacon and eggs — which I abandoned after 2 days as I was clearly sick, with huge black bags under my eyes, indicating that my kidneys were protesting.)
Each time I'm water fasting these days, I know to stop as soon as I start craving protein. That's an emergency message from one's body, warning of incipient muscle loss. No-one can safely go straight from fasting to protein, but after 24-36 hours of fruit and veggie broth, eating a bunch of restorative protein is always fine (for me). One always has to carefully ease back into it just a little.

A question: (for anyone considering fasting!) — why do you want to do a water fast? To detox, to lose a little weight, deal with some inflammation (fasting quickly fixes that!) or to allow the autophagy (auto-self-healing when on a fast) to repair something? Those are all different reasons/goals, and may call for slightly different approaches.

One of the main reasons I experimented with breatharianism for three and a half years was to explore the limits of human nutrition and energy. During that time, I consumed an average of 300 to 500 calories per day. Ultimately, the prolonged restriction left me feeling weak, and I lost 15.3 pounds (7 kg.) of muscle and 11.9 pounds (5.4 kg) of fat.

Over the past 10 months, I’ve been able to restore both muscle mass and energy levels through nutrition and a well-rounded exercise regimen.

Bill, I'd like to add my follow up post to Harmony on the breatharian experiment.
Breatharianism became something I needed to explore in order to confront my fear of external control. It wasn’t just about the physical practice. It was a spiritual journey. A way to test the limits of what we’re told is possible. It was my attempt to break through the implants and conditioning designed to cap our life force.

I believe the veil of programmed evolution is beginning to lift as more hearts open and expand beyond anything they’ve previously known. A deeper truth is beginning to emerge. This/Their expansion will allow many more to see with clarity and inner knowing.

Harmony, I'll use this space to share your video about something Gregg Braden said regarding the heart. It's an idea I've felt deeply and explored for some time. The first one is something I just know to be true for me.
These are just two of many statements worth repeating from Gregg Braden’s video: (repost)
    • 1991 science discovered a neural network inside the human heart. This is brain like cells but they're not in the brain. They're in the heart and it's this neural network that access the information in the field through what is called heart intelligence.
      .......
    • We’re soft technology who have ability to self regulate at will on demand when we choose through seven primary epigenetic triggers: thought, feeling, emotion, belief, breath, focus, movement.

No, I'm not a Freemason, I've never once been approached or invited to be one, and I don't know any personally among any of my friends or colleagues.

My late brother -- God rest him -- was relatively high in financial circles, being a partner in a large, influential accountancy firm. He once dined with Boris Johnson before he was PM. During his career, he was approached by his peers many many many many times to become a mason, and join the lodge that supposedly many of them belonged to. He refused each and every time. He was a learned man, but not a rabbit-hole seeker. He knew nothing of any larger conspiracy, and probably wouldn't have believed them. But he was extremely wary of those colleagues and friends who exchanged secret handshakes. He could never say exactly what it was that turned him off, but he wanted no part of it, even though membership might have expanded his client list and boosted his career. He resisted to his dying day. Bless him.

Oh no ! An unfortunate choice of emoji, Bill. Masons love to mess about with their thumbs, pressing on & in between various knuckles.
I've always read that emoji as a thumb pressing, & only use the tablet's,👍, one.
Just bad emoji design at play though, nothing to see here ... hopefully! 😃Click image for larger version

    Some questions for you Bill:

    1) Do you think there is a problem with "Islamaphobia" on the forum? I am not really a fan of many words that end with "-phobia" because that just means "fear", but I think there are other concepts involved like "hatred" or "bigotry" that could be at play here. Do you think there are people on the forum who are cultivating an irrational, unreasonable, and inhumane view of Moslems on this forum?

    2) What do you think the "Meme Your Memeiest Memes" thread has contributed to the forum? I am guessing you don't read it regularly, but it now has over 6000 posts. Do you think it has created something useful here? Do you think it has had any kind of impact here? What potential do you think it has for the future?

    Thanks for your consideration.

    Welcome to Avalon, WoodChuck.

If I recall correctly, after you make 2 or 3 posts you are no longer restricted. You can test it out by dropping a post on a thread and that'll bring you up to three.

UPDATE: I didn't catch your post on the Welcome to Avalon! thread. I'd suggest you post there.

With respect, are you really not a freemason? If so, then what exactly are you and umpteen other alt media people a part of with the blatantly obvious grips/special handshakes/funny handshakes?
No, I'm not a Freemason. (I can't think of any other way to say that! )

But you asked: "If so, then what exactly are you and umpteen other alt media people a part of with the blatantly obvious grips/special handshakes/funny handshakes??"

I do have to say, if I may, I didn't quite understand why I was included in that question. (I don't consciously have a 'funny handshake'!)

Maybe this might help a little, a very fun one-minute video from back in 2010:

David Icke's rheumatoid arthritis makes it impossible for him to shake hands properly

On the other hand (as it were!), Jordan Maxwell did once tell me in passing that he was a Mason, though at the very lowest level.

Regarding anyone else that I've ever been in touch with personally, I have zero information about whether they're a Mason or not.

The alt media seems to be a totally rigged game, like every other aspect of our society.
Parts of it may be, for sure. But certainly not all. As I've expressed myself a number of times on this thread and several others, I'm extremely disillusioned with the alt media in general, for a whole raft of reasons — which is one of the reasons why I no longer take part in it with the sole exception of posting on Avalon.

    Mod note from Bill:

Seeing the number of new posts/questions here about Freemasonry and the alt media, I've moved those posts to start a new thread (Freemasonry and the Alt Media) which anyone is most welcome to comment on.

Thank you for your assistance Bill. Seems I can log in now. I will navigate around. I went to welcome area to post a thank you and give small descriptions of my interests.
I am restricted and need advice how to proceed. I can ask 9ideon.
Thank you again for the assistance.
Yes, because we fast-tracked you straight in as a fully active member, one of the quirks of the forum is that you can't actually post on the Welcome Thread. (And neither can anyone else, once their account is activated!)

The sole purpose of that thread is for newly approved members to post something for the first time (however briefly), which is specifically what then tells the software to fully activate their account

This question needed a bit of thought, and the mods have been discussing it. (As you'd expect, of course. )

    You asked:
Quote Do you think there are people on the forum who are cultivating an irrational, unreasonable, and inhumane view of Moslems on this forum?
I'm not aware of that personally, though (of course) there may be many posts that I miss. Just for practical reasons of limited time, I also limit myself to threads that I regularly follow; so, for instance, I'm absolutely not up to date with anything that's been posted on the Memes thread, and therefore I'm not qualified to comment about it at all.

But if a stranger were to look through the whole forum to see what our collective culture seemed to be, they'd leave with the overwhelming impression that we were almost without exception pro-Palestinian in our individual strong views, with everything else that this implies.

I very much feel that the community is also very much pro-Russia, pro-BRICS, pro-multipolarism, pro-Africa, and (with respect to the recent '12-day war') pro-Iran. It also acknowledges and celebrates Russia's successful multicultural integration — one of the very few countries to have been so successful, as I'd be sure you know.

At the same time, there are recognized serious problems with migration and illegal immigration, as has been regularly reported and showcased on the several UK threads, issues which seem to be growing literally almost every day.

And while there are not so many daily reports abut this, the same issues are acknowledged by almost all forum members to be rampant in Europe and parts of the US. These are realities which we all discuss.

So we're not going to 'censor' anyone who is expressing strong views, unless they seem to be genuinely crude or offensive. While I believe nothing almost posted about the politics of the Middle East is ever 'offensive', we have extremely strong views expressed about the genocide in Gaza (and yes, genocide it is). I am among those who are appalled and disgusted at the barbarity and depravity, and (dare I say it) demonstrable evil in plain sight.

Aware of my own position on the forum, needing quite often to be a kind of [semi!]-dispassionate chairperson and arbiter, I quite often sit firmly on my hands and do NOT post in full force what I often personally feel I'd like to. (And of course I'm doing that right here and now, as your own very fine perception may pick up.)

At the same time as the many shared Israel and Gaza opinions and reports, we have some members who are [still] very much cheerleaders of the US and the collective west. I'm not in that category myself, so I quietly refrain from challenging those views — and simply let the discussions play out.

China Uncensored is also quite a useful (and light-hearted and funny) channel on China <chinauncensored@substack.com> and he has a newsletter and a youtube channel. I think the main guy, Chris Chappell, is half-Chinese (though he looks white).

I agree that advertising is immoral. I have a simple economic argument for why it is immoral, that I've never heard anyone else make, but seems so obvious to me. I might write the argument up at some point.... My position is less extreme than Bill's - I'd say that advertising that simply informs you of the existence of a product, and its functionality, can be valuable. But advertising that tries to persuade amounts to hypnotism.

Advertisement, in YT's case also a form of terror, in general, is simply a form of begging. Begging has laws against it in most countries, therefore it should be banned.
