Beats me why we don't have this thread yet. We live in it every day. We can't escape, and there's seemingly nowhere to turn.

This isn't just about being woke, although this is woke-adjacent. This is more about the weirdness, the madness, the impossibly surreal and paradoxical. Clown World! The record levels of cringe that have taken hold of western society. Sometimes what we witness is just awful, tragic, at others, it's just frankly hilarious. I don't quite know where the line sits between them anymore.

There's no better example of this than police web cam videos. I spent a couple months binge watching these, and I never ceased to be astonished.

While I - of course - find the above posts entertaining; I have reservations about the "clown world" terminology.

Mainly because the motivations that drive those responsible for this stuff are purposively and strategically evil - not merely dumb or crazy.

(Dumb and crazy people will inevitably do good stuff by accident, "randomly; about as often as they do evil stuff; whereas the schemes, plans, and programs of Clown World are all in the direction of spiritual harm.)

It's good to laugh at evil, and They don't like it - so long as we have at the back of our minds that it is indeed, ultimately, evil that we are laughing at; and the dumb/ crazy characters in public view are merely dupes and minions.

So, for me it's demon world, rather than "clown" world.

(But just as a cultural reference, the thread title was — most probably! — tipping a hat to the daily final section of Alex Christoforou's news update videos. In those, which have become very celebrated, He always presents a 5 minute 'Clown World' section, focused on sheer political ridiculousness, which he cloaks in comedy.)

In Germany we have our own Clownworld Youtuber called 'Clownswelt'. He actually became famous even in the Mainstream because he was doxxed by a 'journalist' or 'entertainer' in his own show on national television claiming he was one of the YouTube far-right n#zis (which is nonsense of course). He's just a conservative.
In the end it was to his advantage: Clownswelt's subscriptions went up from 200K to almost 500K so it helped him a lot. You can also see him now 'in the open' on other channels discussing the issues which is always delightful.

For anyone who knows German (although there's subtitles available) I recommend his channel. His videos are really a good watch because 'Clowny' (as his fans also affectionately call him now) astutely debunks all the mainstream narratives in German state media (which we have to pay for!), and destroys all the puppets (mostly the MSM and some YT left-wing bloggers) who agitate against him but who have no argumentative substance whatsoever.
He is VERY (facts-)based and also a true rhethorical genius who also occasionally employs some good humour and sarcasm (it's about a Clownworld after all). Wish he would do English videos, I know most here would enjoy his stuff.

I still go to a lot of live rock concerts. Very fortunately - so far, fingers crossed - I did not have to witness something like this (although you sometimes happen to meet or see some 'clown' people indeed, but not like this one).
