Starting this thread to see if any interest,

Followed the Sun and its interactions last solar cycle, Some believe it was better/more active than this last one we just went through. (personally I agree)

Some again say we are heading to another maunder minimum. What say you?

Will warn anyone diving into this topic it is a rabbit hole. One thing leads to another. Hard to explain but as you and perhaps others follow along the connections are absolutely mind bending.

Expect some Major Sun events in next week's to months as 3i Atlas passes by. Some sources say perhaps X Flares. The direction of any such X flare would be the concern .

Time will tell. Stay well.

Hi Woodchuck, and welcome to the forum.

This topic — the Sun — is alive and well here. I recommend you check out Onawah’s thread suggestion at her post #4. The chan you are posting has not uploaded vids about the Sun for at least 7 years.

I think that this thread could endure, even flourish, if you linked current sources about the Sun. Onawah’s adopted thread relies mostly on the work of Ben Davidson, who’s (whose?) uploads often include source links to academic papers about the Sun, most of them in his quick-wank©️ daily morning news. These links are in his vid-descriptions, and I recommend them, also as a model for how to study this.

Ben D. has been getting some flack for acting like a doomsday cult leader, there is a thread about that, so IMO we need other sources. Onawah is very defensive of him, rebuking various posts there (find it using the Advanced Search function button, topish rightish on any Avalon page), including some from me. She has stated that I’m on her ‘ignore’ list, which is apparently a choice in the forum software.

I have, through recent years, $ubbed to Ben D’s now-defunct paywall dot-org site, and bought a hard copy of his 3rd edition of Weatherman’s Guide to the Sun. I have got a lot of info from his work, including about Earth’s various electric circuits, the Sun’s charging of those, and about other challenges to Earth’s weakening magnetosphere.
