Quote Have you considered you might have been? That old-fashioned truck, its occupants frozen, is very reminiscent of a time-slip event.
Hi Mark! Thank you, no I hadn't considered that and didn't know there were cases of time actually slipping (reading those now!)... it felt so strange; everything was surreal and almost seemed to be occurring in slow motion... whatever happened that day was very, very strange. I don't have other words for it. The next day was equally odd while at home, though it ran in a completely different trajectory...

I feel extremely grateful that my fiance experienced and witnessed both with me... and that both were survived.

We wondered whether something would try for round 2 if we left the house after that and remained in a state of heightened awareness and anxiety for a long, long while...until one day we simply decided, let's go for it and see what comes next.

Last year, I was taking one of our cars to the shop for some repairs. The drive was about twenty minutes from our house. Along the way, there is a hilly section where the road drops sharply and then immediately goes back up, about a quarter of a mile in total. As I approached this section, I felt a very clear and unmistakable warning to be extremely careful. Something or someone was urging me to approach this section of road with extreme caution. I drove down the hill with great care and then immediately back up. The entire experience was uneventful, with no reason for concern. I dismissed it as an odd feeling and put it out of my mind.

Around 5 p.m., I received a call from the shop, they said the car was ready and that they would be closing at 6 p.m. I gathered one of my sons, and we headed to the shop. I was driving, planning to drop off my son, then he would drive the car home. There was a light drizzle, just enough to make the road wet but nothing serious. As we approached that same hilly section, I thought about the warning I had felt earlier. While I didn’t drive with the same extreme caution as in the morning, I was more alert and aware.

When I reached the bottom of the hill and started to go back up, I noticed a car coming in the opposite direction that was veering into my lane. I turned the steering wheel sharply to the right to avoid a certain collision, but because the road was wet, my car started to skid straight toward the other vehicle. At the last second, the wheels grabbed the road and violently jerked the car to the right, and we ended up stopping halfway on the shoulder and halfway on the grass. We avoided a head-on collision by inches. The oncoming car quickly moved back into its lane and disappeared over the hill, never to be seen again.

Over the years, I’ve learned that when you’re searching for answers about life, they often come, but rarely in ways you expect. Sometimes when an angel is giving you a warning, it is not for that particular moment.

Thank you for sharing such a revealing and profound experience. This has happened to me many times — having premonitory dreams that, just as you say, one interprets more or less correctly; but at the exact moment when the “miracle” or divine event of assistance to the human actually happens — that is when we feel astonished, maybe frightened by the crucial moment we have just lived through (many times they are life-or-death situations), and with an immeasurable and moving gratitude toward the King of Creation and His Angels. In the Bible there is a phrase that says: “Be faithful unto death, and I will give you the crown of life.” I believe it has to do with this: If in our hearts we are pure, and we are truly good people until our last breath, then we will not need to reincarnate again in worlds of death, decay and corruption like the one we are in now.

It is then that God enables us to become Angels, Beings of Light, Pleiadians or whatever one chooses to call them. And from that moment on — to dwell in higher planes of existence and live in total harmony with Him, and assist poor underdeveloped beings like us humans.

This morning, after meditation, I asked my higher self, source energy, what do I need to know today? I got an image of a person wearing a heavy cape coat and and the words, as close as I remember them, "take off the heavy mantle (which is like a coat or cape when I looked up the meaning) and wear a mantle of light" and I saw the person with light shining out of them.
I felt lighter and it seemed important that I not dwell too much with the heavy information about the world. Notice it, but don't take it into yourself.

I am just making this note about this message as it is likely for anyone as well, like a helping hand

A very tiny thing that happened yesterday. Rather than a whole host of Angels lending a hand, it might have been just one young Angel tackling the assignment as a kind of training exercise.

I started this thread with a report (still hard for me to believe!) of an extraordinary reprieve from disaster when my engine timing belt broke (a) when my jeep was at my mechanic's workshop, and (b) when the engine wasn't even running).

A far more minor version of the same thing happened yesterday. I was on my way to the mountains, but passing through town and just a few minutes from my mechanic, my clutch cable broke.

For those who drive automatics, here's a word of explanation. The clutch is a key part of changing gears manually, operated by a third foot pedal next to the brake. The pedal is connected to the clutch by a strong steel cable. If it ever breaks, the car crunches to a halt and will be almost impossible to drive.

In my case, the cable, though strong, was probably as old as the jeep (40 years!). But of course everything mechanical will fail sometime — whether it's after a year, 10 years, 100 years, or 1000.

That helps us to understand what Angels often do. They can't stop something from breaking (or a tree from falling!), but they can nudge things to determine the optimal timing of the failure — or the direction a tree will fall (in my case, which I also described, to precisely avoid the roof of my house).

So yesterday, I shuddered to a standstill in the traffic. Now, manual drivers will understand this: I managed to crash it into first gear, and was able to very slowly limp to my mechanic, carefully timing the traffic lights (because I'd be barely able to stop or start again). Once I got there, he replaced the cable easily and all was well.

But I mentioned the Angelic hand in the timing. Just a few days earlier, I'd been navigating this remote high mountain road:

    https://avalonlibrary.net/Bill/mount...8_Jan_2026.mp4

If the cable had broken then, not only could it have been very dangerous (obviously! ) but even if I'd crunched to a safe stop it would have been near-impossible to get a tow truck there or even to safely move the jeep in any way. The whole thing would have been a most titanic hassle.

The moral of the story, maybe: (Angelic help notwithstanding)

If something goes wrong, always think about how much worse it could have been — and do remember to offer a little thanks for that.

Well, maybe its time to replace that old mechanical for something younger and hotter...that its still possible, but not in" your" case, ignoring that fact is like playing Russian roulette...

We can shake the tree all the time for that... and so Angels don't need multi tasking with you...

It might need to happen sometime!

In fact, considering this accurate evaluation of all things mechanical, it surely will:

My battered 4x4 is now 40 years old, with 292,000 miles on the clock, and (just as with myself and my dog! ) I do everything needed to make it last as long as possible. I'm good friends with my mechanic, and 4 years ago, when I had a small engine issue, I asked him what the problem was.

"You need a new car", he said, and we both laughed.

He does an inspired job keeping it going, and he and I are both quietly surprised it's lasted so long despite all the abuse. Here there's an annual mechanical inspection to renew the vehicle license, and somehow it passes first time every time. (The next one is in a few weeks' from now! )

Here's my improvised solution quite a while back when my windshield wiper motor broke:

... and here's the trouble we get into occasionally:

But at the same time, this is what she can do:

All this is way way off-topic, save that the Angels do seem determined to keep her (and me, and my dog!) running well.

A fascinating story here, and as with many such narratives, confirmation of them continues in abundance

He Went to Hell and Came Back: Priest Anatoly Pershin, Former Rock Musician, Survived Clinical Death
"I received 11 stab wounds. With my last strength, bleeding out, I crawled across the asphalt to an ambulance. It, by my luck, happened to be nearby. The last thing I saw before losing consciousness was the silhouettes of medics running towards me.

During the operation, I died. My soul left my body and rushed upward. I saw the operating room from the outside, my body, and the doctors trying to bring me back to life. However, my soul—my essence, with all my thoughts—rising, left that space through the ceiling.

Gradually moving away, I saw our planet from a distance, and along with it, the life I had lived.

It was at that moment I understood that I had lived completely wrong and had been doing things I shouldn't have.
I very much wanted to return to earth to fix everything. But that was impossible. I had no body. That is, my sense of self remained the same, I understood and felt everything, but there was no physical body.

Then something terrible began to happen—I ended up in hell. For some reason, the Lord decided to show it to me. It was an empty space. A vast space and a terrifying, oppressive feeling of loneliness, mixed with pain and inexplicable horror, full of despair. It seemed then that I had been there for an eternity.

Only later did I learn that one of the meanings of the word 'hell' is 'alone.' That is, hell is a place where God is not present.
Suddenly, turning, I unexpectedly saw a large, silvery Angel with a sword in his hands. He approached and extended his hand to me, as if wanting to pull me out of that terrible place.

I regained consciousness in the intensive care unit. For some reason, God decided to return me to life. The most amazing thing is that shortly before the tragic situation in which I was mortally wounded, I was confidently trying to prove to a friend that God does not exist.

I believed more in science than in religion. Although God had sent me warnings, trying to reach my heart.
Only after ending up in the afterlife did I understand that I had lived wrongly. I returned from there and became a deeply religious person.

After the operation, I developed sepsis. A long treatment lay ahead. However, no physical pain was comparable to the pain I experienced in hell.

I was treated for several years. Everything was fruitless. I was getting worse with each day. Tests taken at the Military Medical Academy clearly showed—a person cannot survive with blood like mine.
After this, my good friend Yuri Shevchuk advised me to visit the Antoniev-Siysky Monastery in the Arkhangelsk region. To be honest, I no longer believed anyone could help me anywhere.

The first thing after arriving at the monastery was that I was given the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Then, after being placed in a cell, the monks began to pray over me. After some time, I myself started praying before the relics of Saint Anthony.

Once, while reading an akathist, I felt the space around me fill with a wondrous fragrance. I lost consciousness. Upon waking, I immediately understood that my body felt much better. It turned out that on that day, for the first time in several hundred years, the relics of the Venerable Saint Anthony had emitted a fragrance in the church.
Thus, I gradually began to recover. And along with that, I joyfully took on any work in the monastery. I wanted to do as much as possible for the church and for the Lord.

The monastery was in a deplorable state. Its restoration became the meaning of my life. More precisely, the opening of its metochion in St. Petersburg. I understood that this was far more valuable than rock concerts and all the audience's applause.

And so, several years later, the Church of St. Anthony of Siya appeared on Prospekt Prosveshcheniya in St. Petersburg. And a completely different life began for me, a righteous, Orthodox life. In the role of the rector of the monastery."
“If a man does not keep pace with [fall into line with] his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” - Thoreau
