My grandparents accepted the "Social Security" retirement program, back in the 1930's, only on the condition that the Social Security Number (SSN) that would be assigned to each of us Americans (including recently it seems some millions of illegal immigrants) only be used for access to our Social Security account, not to be connected with any other account.

That condition has long since been forgotten. But at least so far, the SSN as a "unique citizen ID", is only routinely linked to "batch processing, non-real-time" verifications and authorizations.

Linking any such ID to the real-time world of immediate and ubiquitous transaction authorization would be a disaster for the conduct of free enterprise, as Catherine Austin Fitts explains. Only a small percentage of us still live potentially self-sufficient lives in rural or remote areas. The rest of us depend on free enterprise for our food, clothing, shelter, communication, transportation, ... We must not allow some Big AI Computer to control, in real-time, every detail of that life. Life in a current day prison would be "more free" ... at least in prison I could perhaps exchange a pack of cigarette's for a pack of food, and in any case would receive basic food, clothing and shelter unconditioned on my every expressed thought, word or deed, beyond some basic rules.
