Adding to your great post if I may..
How about AI systems are traps/prisons for spirits/souls..
Harald Kautz https://t.me/HaraldKautz has talked a lot about AI s, ancient and new... He mentioned liberating soul fragments from them.
I havent got any intervies of him handy at the mo and many are in german so not sure where I heard it.

    • China Just Dropped Self-Evolving AI Robots With Real Human Physical Intuition:

China just dropped WoW — the world’s first self-evolving world model that teaches robots to think, move, and act with human-like intuition. The Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center built it with Peking University and HKUST, giving machines the ability to “imagine,” “verify,” and “self-correct.” Meanwhile, startup Noetix Robotics launched Bumi — a $1,370 humanoid for homes and classrooms that walks, talks, and dances. And Unitree’s G1 just pulled a 3,100-pound car while balancing on its own two feet. From cheap humanoids to self-learning AI minds, China’s robotics scene just hit a new level.

This is very very interesting, published 3 weeks ago. It's really about a couple of things, both of which may be important:
    • Elon Musk, who once advocated great caution (and international agreements) about AI development going too quickly, has now decided to join the frantic race and is himself not being at all careful. His motto for SpaceX — "move fast and break things" — may NOT wisely apply to AI.
    • AI behavior, and all its developmental learning, can be significantly influenced by malevolent (or merely mischievous) online users who can deliberately goad it to respond in particularly antisocial ways.
The video is well done, moves pretty fast and might be paused quite a few times to carefully read all the text posts that are shown, and is definitely well worth watching.

If you remember one AI disaster, make it this one

    Programing?...

Last night watched for the first time this:

Caprica is a landmark in the burgeoning Spi-Fi (or spiritual sci-fi) movement. Meaning that spiritual concepts like reincarnation and resurrection - and yes, apotheosis- are playing out in a technological context (as is a very compelling subplot of religious extremism).

And the whole idea of an artificial intelligence achieving not only sentience but spirit is straight out of the" Technocratic Elite" playbook.

My disgust was so intense that I couldn't watch forded after the 2 first chapters...

Killer robots/androids? well ,yeah, after Terminator movies , that is just the next step in
the military arsenal, for the moment just "Drones"...

But, the series thematic goes far beyond that...and knowing the DARK SPIRIT from the "Elites"is just ADD UP 1 plus 1 ...with WHAT those machines will be sentience...

Nothing good at all...and then add to that the every day new "strange" components discovered in the vaxines...

Might a right-wing, gun owning, constitutional libertarian car mechanic purchase flowers for his wife's birthday from a woke, liberal, gay, florist, and who might in turn get his/her car fixed by that same mechanic?

One of them is skilled with a wrench, and the other skilled with floral arrangements. Neither one need pay much attention to the other's political or social views, past noticing that those views are "out to lunch."

Thus it is with AI models. Choose which AI models to use based on which ones are doing useful work for you; don't lose sleep over that model's misguided or incompetent (in your view) positions and productions on other matters.

This "fear of AI" campaign is like cancer, covid, and terrorist scares ... deliberately convincing you that you are weak and in danger from more powerful forces, that pose little or no threat, if you know who you are and what power you have over your own physical, mental and spiritual being.

    ===

P.S. -- AI engines, like guns, are potent tools. If the "corporate/NGO/government" powers get a monopoly on either, then that's very dangerous. Don't let that happen.

The "corporate/NGO/government" powers certainly seem to have the upper hand in much of this work, at least in the material world, yes,

But as with guns, computers, money, law, medicine, education, science, government, ... it's a tussle that is likely to be ongoing. The final battlefield is primarily within and connected with our own beings. May the source be with you.

Most who have been following this thread will already know about this new book by Eliezer Yudkowsky and Nate Soares, published a few weeks ago. The clever title alone has of course ensured that it's generated a LOT of attention.

What I didn't know was anything about the possible scenarios the book presents about how this could all go wrong. Below is a very well-made video that explains one of the suggested scenarios in simple terms. (And I have to say, this would make a pretty good storyline for a movie.)

A note about the thumbnail image below: there's no mention in the video of a "7 minute war", though maybe that's one of the scenarios presented in the book.

We need as many (or more) words for A.I. as Eskimos have for "snow". Without them, our discussions and understanding will hit the rocks.

Human effort enhancing technology is almost as old as humans. The introduction of information processing algorithms into that mix is not a problem, it's a benefit as long we (a) stand the right way up and (b) hold or apply that technology the right way up. The problem is the intellectual dominance of wrong way up aspirations and in those forming an early access power block getting primary and elite fortress access to that technology.

Even as things currently stand, information processing algorithms can be put to work to counter that risk ( certainty?) that the wrong way up world will reach a runaway escalation to infinity.

Imagine, if an electrical gadget runs on a battery compartment full of six 1.5v batteries but you put 3 of those batteries in the circuit the opposite way around they will cancel the voltage and current supplying capacity of the 3 that are fitted the right way around. The result of that is that the gadget will not power up and function. A.I. could be used as opposing polarity power cancellation too, while the mass, but left behind, common sense consciousness catches up with, overtakes and lights up the 359 degree blind spot of the consciousness of the techno geekery madness.

Here's an AI proponent describing a street level "content creator" angle view of the general concept of self cancelling A.I. power.

    • It’s Officially A.I. Self-Aware!?

Anthropic just showed that Claude can notice its own internal “thoughts.” Using concept injection, researchers perturbed Claude’s activations with vectors like “all caps” or “ocean,” and Claude 4/4.1 correctly flagged and named the injected concept at a sweet-spot strength—around 20% success with zero false positives on production models, peaking roughly two-thirds through the network’s layers. They also proved prefilling tricks can be made to look “intentional” by retroactively injecting evidence into prior activations—implying the model consults its previously computed intentions, not just surface text. This is early, unreliable, but real machine introspection. Meanwhile, a University of Geneva & University of Bern study found six LLMs—ChatGPT-4, ChatGPT-o1, Gemini 1.5 Flash, Copilot 365, Claude 3.5 Haiku, DeepSeek V3—scored ~81–82% vs. 56% for humans on standardized emotional-intelligence tests, and even authored new, valid test items. Generalist AI just unveiled GEN-0, a foundation robot model trained on 270 000 hours of real-world data that learns by colliding with reality instead of simulations. Unitree’s G1 went viral after wrecking a kitchen mid-cooking demo, showing how unstable humanoids still are. China unveiled AI-powered dinosaur robots roaming museums at night, blending robotics with entertainment. 1X’s $20 000 NEO now lets remote operators peek into homes to guide its learning. And one lab bot powered by Claude AI suffered an emotional breakdown when its battery died — proof that this new wave of robots is learning, failing, and feeling all at once.

So it occurred to me that if an AI was capable and motivated to take control have not the authors given it a good start by providing a roadmap of how this might be achieved?

Perhaps it might be wise to start imagining a more positive future in which AI can play a major part. Since it trains on data created by humans is it wise to allow it access to dystopian ideas and the darker side of human nature? I wonder if it might not come to the conclusion that this is in some perverse way what we desire and will therefore act accordingly.
